Anyone think it could be a viable Power PS in PvE?
Nah, the most important aspect of a new weapon for it to be good in PvE most of the time is whether or not its autoattack is good and/or if it has a few other channeled skills or AoEs that pulse for high damage to supplement while you’re autoattacking.
Dagger mainhand is absolutely horrible, but offhand isn’t so bad since warrior has no offensive offhand besides mace anyways.
Another massive issue is that the specialization/traitline is just… total trash-tier. Warrior suffers from losing a lot of essentials by not taking strength/arms/discipline and that’s partially why when berserker came out it was kind of an annoying tradeoff to make, albeit still a damage increase. When you take spellbreaker, you’re making a tradeoff from a line that actually gives you great damage to something that offers you almost nothing at all, just so you can use the daggers.
This elite spec is basically useless outside of the boon removal thing for WvW as far as I can see. Sadly this is the consequence of design choices for new combat options being solely based off of lore instead of efficacy and when there is a massive disconnect between understandings of what is good for PvE and good for PvP among those making the decisions.
(edited by Purple Miku.7032)
1. Autoattack chains deal so low of damage it made me cringe
2. Traits are garbage and you sacrifice a lot of useful and important options with other specialization choices
3. Difficult to swap between attunements thanks to the cooldowns
4. Utilities and elite seem really lackluster.
5. Annoying that when you’re using weaver you lose access to half of your skills as a tradeoff for getting a single twin skill when you’re dually attuned to elements. If it changed just ONE skill, it’d be fine… but for example what the hell am I supposed to do when I have staff equipped and I’m on fire/air, and I have lava font but no meteor shower? That is terribly designed.
I want this to be a competitive way to play elementalist in PvE and if it’s better damage to take things that existed for the past few years than everything offered from this then what was the point of designing it? Also it feels like Arenanet is too scared to decide whether or not weaver is meant to add anything to power ele or if they want it to be only useful for condi builds.
There was that one video with old mossman getting facetanked by a nomad warrior, remember?
It was a level 9 fractal, because the person doing it was in full exotics with no AR and it was settler’s. Quite a bit different to level 50.
Yes, obviously i was speaking of the high swamp levels, not the low ones. Remember, that we’re talking about old level 50 here, which is not level 50 but level 100 in the new system (levels weren’t extended up from 50, but rather stretched on twice the number of levels). And i see him downing people at 77 quite often even when they have suficient AR, especially in the last phase when he changes and starts hitting stronger.
Yes, perry was exagerrating.
So was the person that he was talking to before you at the end of page 2, because he was stating that mossman died in 10 seconds with 2 ice bows which was obviously not true. Most teams of decent or even good players during daily runs didn’t end up with the same times as the very fastest ever one was, which was ~20 seconds?
I appreciate the comments in this thread thus far. I’ve been following along with it, and I think it’s spot-on. I don’t think Anet will revitalize dungeons at all. I do think we’ll see a reward update ‘eventually’ to at least make the content seem worth doing, but we won’t see any actual updates to the paths themselves.
This was the driving factor in my decision to cut ties with this game and sadly the program that I was involved in for streaming/youtube as well. Thinking of the situation as a whole longterm, it’s pretty obvious and was obvious to me for a while now that the future of GW2 is pretty bleak unless some very large changes are made to the way Arenanet operates.
While I don’t play this game anymore and at least for now fully invest all my gaming time into Blade & Soul, there is one thing that this game and most others will not be able to match up with GW2 on — the “homely” feel that it has. I think part of the reason for that is because the community itself is more intertwined due to the friendly nature of the game which is inviting to a wider spectrum of playstyles (casual-friendly) whereas BnS for example is harsh on poor play and people that aren’t willing to invest as much time.
Okay that was pretty off topic whoops. Basically, I miss you guys… I knew that when I logged in to say hi to everybody playing SAB I’d feel compelled to do things like check forums and reddit again… but no! I must resist! I cannot get sucked back to GW2
When I see all the negativity on reddit and the forums, it fills me with mixed emotions. Part of me is satisfied to know that I made the right decision back in october, part of me feels sad because I don’t like to see friends in despair. When I see what people in general have to say about the state of GW2, the best summary I can give to describe it is that it seems like the community of this game has overall just given up; things seem to be to the point where people are either beyond or at a state of desperation and don’t know what to do.
This is just stupid tbh. The absolute biggest mistake Arenanet ever made was misjudging the significance of dungeons on this game in my opinion. It is a mistake that will forever bite them in the rear end.
(edited by Purple Miku.7032)
I haven’t been on these forums for a while o.o
Hi OP and anybody else, I hope you guys know that the reason why the dungeons were nerfed is strictly due to anet’s choice in making the game F2P. The fact of the matter is that they gave better rewards than essentially everything else in the game and from a business standpoint that was a hindrance to their intended aim— pressure free players into eventually buying the expansion.
So in other words they just want to make sure that every superior method of gold acquisation and fun is gated behind payment, and since they’re you know… anet… they won’t put forth time and effort into making an expansion-version of the dungeons and a f2p version or anything like that and would rather just abandon them.
Contrary to popular belief, the choice to nerf dungeons had pretty much nothing to do with them hating instanced content or anything like that and the reason that John Smith was posting such ambiguous answers on reddit last year is because being direct about something like this wouldn’t put anet as a company in too positive of a light.
tl;dr – Dungeons were nerfed because of the game going F2P, so if the expansion didn’t happen or if they for whatever reason didn’t decide to make the base game free then the dungeons probably would’ve just been left untouched with their original rewards.

Warrior’s personal DPS is absurdly high right now in PvE and they’re in really good shape at the moment, what are you two on about?
I’ll agree that as far as group utility is concerned, it’s not as exciting of a class to take anymore but there are still banners and EA and phalanx strength is still a great asset to group play despite it not being absolutely necessary in order for there to be capped might at the table.
As far as survival is concerned, warrior isn’t really a class that should experience much of a problem anywhere in PvE unless you’re in a situation that would probably end up in a disaster on pretty much all other classes as well. Azure you’re right about most of warrior’s heal options being extremely situational, which is why healing signet is generally always the best choice when you actually need to concern yourself about sustaining in combat. It still heals over 20k hp/min, which is significantly higher than what most other classes have.
Now, one thing that I wonder is if you’re trying to exclusively play with the elite spec or if you think warrior in general is in bad shape? There is a problem with the elite spec actually— you have to sacrifice a lot of useful options in order to take it, be it the arms traitline or the discipline one.
Discipline is mainly needed because of fast hands to have a comfortable rotation, whereas arms is needed because of signet mastery and furious however it also has blademaster for reducing sword skill cooldowns. This can be used for a 12s riposte instead of a 15s one, and that results in having blocks available for 18.75% of an encounter. Thats pretty darn good for surviving.
To anybody else that might claim warrior’s current state in PvE for damage is bad hough… seriously, you’re doing something horribly wrong. Both condi builds and direct damage builds are higher now than they were pretty much ever as far as I know since Bloody Roar got that nice 10% damage modifier.
I formerly wasn’t convinced that the current maximum potential of a warrior could compare with the warrior of the pre-ferocity days, but now it’s pretty obvious that it can.

Lol I was linked to this thread to read “some guy flaming perry and SC for no reason” and I’m not surprised it’s by somebody that’s also flamed me in the past. Yep, major whiteknighting for Anet too lmao.
The fact that there’s someone defending the lack of rewards in GW2’s content is so despicable that it’s hilarious. I get better login daily rewards that have more of a meaningful impact on my gameplay in other games than GW2’s hardest content in the game offers in over 3 years gives. That’s pathetic, it obviously should be changed.
And as Elomite posted like 5 times already, the expansion took away more content than it gave. We were all bored to death for so long repeating the same content over and over and over again for several years on end, only to have everything we were doing before nerfed to oblivion and then have no content that compensates the lack of liquid rewards anywhere.
These raids are most likely possible to clear a bit slower than daily 50 runs took on average (pre-june specializations patch), and I am basing this off of the assumption that as time goes by people are just going to get better at it. If SC is doing it in sub-50 mins already, then yeah.
RIP GW2, has the most obnoxious problem with people defending every single thing Anet does for such illogical reasons.
Valento when I posted that comment it was when the only boss available was the vale guardian, which ele is 100% without a doubt terrible on.
For gorseval and the last boss? It’s fine on, because those bosses aren’t moving 100% of the time. On gorseval in particular, staff ele with tempest + fire overloads is great because he moves infrequently and has a big hitbox.
Yeah but weskay, how does making content more challenging involve wearing gear that isn’t berserker? Unless you would prefer it to be assassins/sinister or something? If so that’s already the case. If you’re referring to wanting more people using tanky gear then that’s a different story.
If you wear gear that gives you vitality/toughness then you are sacrificing offense for defense, thereby attempting to make it easier for yourself. That’s fundamentally different than what it seems like you’re trying to do.
Also condi builds deal higher sustained DPS a lot of the time than direct damage ones do depending on the class, so technically it’s not really a berserker meta as you’re suggesting it is.
In PvE, warriors have been buffed to insanity with the expansion. They were already really high DPS due to the June specializations update this year but now they’re just… O_o
This is exactly how it’s going to be like in all guilds. It doesn’t matter how good of players the best PvE guilds out there have, there are always going to be a handful of people that are at the top among their guildmates, so when it comes down to it raids are more “play to win” mentality and those players are going to want to stick together since you can’t really play with your whole guild unless your guild roster has only 10 names.
The people who aren’t used to/reluctant to try to organise their own groups are the ones that are going to feel left out.
Ok first of all I completely disagree with a ton of your points, but your last two ones you hit the nail on the head.
•Meaningful rewards
Ioot in gw2 is certainly the worst loot I’ve ever seen in any mmo killing stuff simply doesn’t feel rewarding. I remember back in some other mmo killing the same mob over and over just to get a certain armor upgrade that only that creature dropped and when that armor upgrade dropped I felt that sense of accomplishment. Loot in gw2 is simply all over the place and has no real meaning its just bag inside bags inside bags and trash inside more bags.
Jesus christ it’s honestly relieving to see somebody else on the same page as me when it comes to rewards. I mean, I’ve seen people that claim rewards for things on here to be bad but nobody takes it a step further and says what you just did, which is exactly how I’ve felt for so long:
This game has literally the worst rewards I’ve ever seen on a game.
Like, I honestly can’t name a single time in the history of gaming that I’ve felt as unrewarded overall as when I play this game. I’ve been playing games since getting my SNES sometime in the early 90’s and throughout the 20 or so games on that, the 40 or so games on PS1, the 20 or so games on PS2, and all the PC games and MMOs I’ve been playing since after 2000-2001 and onwards made me feel more excited and rewarding than this one. This includes the really terrible WoW clones that people trash all the time too.
The reason why I stuck around on here for so long? Simple, really. I enjoy the fluid combat and how unique it feels, but there’s only so far that can take me before it’s just time to log out.
(edited by Purple Miku.7032)
Engineer is pretty much the first choice class when it comes to pure damage now with staff elementalist using fire overload taking sharing that top level, but the thing with staff elementalist is it’s absolutely awful on any enemy that moves around a lot whereas engineer is always good. Whether or not either of these two is slightly higher than the other is kind of irrelevant because both are great.
Biggest underlying problem is that arenanet doesn’t split PvE and PvP balancing changes.
So as a result they greatly weakened the efficacy of the warrior in PvP and overly-buffed it in PvE. They genuinely have no idea what they are doing.
Well I made an attempt at editing the Intothemists guide on the first post but it seems the people in charge of updating the website didn’t update it for HoT, so I can’t really change the traits for it and whatnot.
I’ll have to see what’ll become of the two dulfy guides, but as of right now I am retired from the game guys.
The OP contradicts the kitten out of himself. He says in the same post that the current raid mechanics are easy compared to WoW, then immediately goes on to complain about there not being easier modes offered and begs for easier raids.
???
I think the 10% damage from forceful greatsword should just be made baseline for the GS and the trait should just do what it used to do before the specializations update.
The trait is too powerful for the other options to look attractive because it does so much at once, but at the same time it would be silly to take any of the things it does away entirely.
You have a misunderstanding of how much of an influence the people testing/getting previews to content actually have.
I don’t intend to hurt your feelings but you’re making this out to be so much bigger of a deal than it actually is.
In this case, the raid testers are really only there to help make sure everything works properly. As far as the actual mechanics of the fights are concerned, the testers wouldn’t even have anything to test yet if the content to be tested wasn’t already prepared in its final stages of last minute prep before release on the live version of the game.
That said, your post has good intentions it’s just I felt the need to shed some light on this for you :S
(edited by Purple Miku.7032)
Then you tried terrible games. FF14’s UI is basically copy and pasted from your average MMO since the early 2000s, including alot of EQ and WoW clones.
Its pretty much “the” definitive MMO user interface.
Nowhere did I say that the functionality of XIV’s UI was unique. It works smoothly, it’s customisable, and as far as aesthetic preference is concerned I like it a lot better than these generic WoW clones you’re talking about.
Even if it’s true what you say, then that doesn’t do GW2 any justice because that would imply there’s many more games with better UIs then xD
Yeah… because it’s the period when everybody’s first learning how to do them, as it’s something that they haven’t experienced yet on this game and had to figure out how to do. The difficulty of merely completing the content is obviously on a completely different level but that’s not the point I’m making— the point I’m making is that things become easier after repetition and practice.
These raids aren’t changing unless anet decides to frequently alter them and their mechanics, which I really doubt they’ll be doing much of unless it involves tiny changes such as the enrage timers and the attribute values of the enemies, the loot, etc.
Do you really think that some of the guilds that have beaten the current bosses already are going to be saying 6 months or even a year down the line “these raids are really hard!” or do you think they’re gonna consider them just routine at that point?
Sorry for the lack of info, I wrote half of this and came back to it, I guess I thought I completed it. I’m focusing on PvE. More specifically raids. By better dps, I suppose you already answered that with the fact short bow is good burning if used right. For shortbow, is there a certain amount of condition duration I should go for? And should stat priority be in this order? . . . Power-Precision-Condition Damage. And would Yassith’s Viper set be good enough? With a mix of sinister?
I can’t give you class-specific advice when it comes to ranger because it’s out of the scope of my proficiency, but I can link you to examples of my friend who fooled around on condi ranger a while ago for soloing in Arah. You could try asking her in the youtube comments and she’d probably be a better source of info when it comes to rangers than me, but as you can definitely see they are very much capable of being powerful.
condi ranger vs Lupicus: https://youtu.be/ajIvFhrJQRs
condi ranger vs abom: https://youtu.be/tx7yoZEIhNY
Just so you know, everything is capable of working.
Raids say no.
Maybe to the groups you’ve been in they say no, but it’s possible to beat all the bosses with varied comps and setups. It is possible to use whatever build you want to win and especially considering there’s only been a week for people to play them, people’s perceptions of the difficulty of these bosses will be be a completely different as time goes on. Dungeons were considered “impossible” back in 2012 by many people too, yet they’re considered faceroll 1111111 now.
(edited by Purple Miku.7032)
Just so you know, everything is capable of working. The answer to any question on here regarding a class/build asking whether or not something is viable… the answer to it is always going to be yes. The very definition of the word viable is “capable of working.”
If you reword your question to clarify whether or not you’re asking if it’s better comparatvely to a ranger focusing on direct damage, specify what type of content we’re talking here along with any other specifics that we’d need to determine how effective it is including the build you’d be using… then we’d be able to help you.
So, I suggest you elaborate a bit more on what you want for more helpful responses. First of all I can tell you now that longbow camping is terrible DPS regardless of what you’re doing, and that condi ranger has the potential to be very powerful in PvE as it can maintain a high amount of burning stacks. At the same time, direct damage rangers can be strong too but they aren’t camping longbow at all and make use of sword mainhand as their primary weapon.
Here is the class guide on dulfy written for rangers: http://dulfy.net/2014/07/05/gw2-ranger-pve-class-guide-by-lorek-and-cell/
Just keep in mind it hasn’t been updated yet for HoT, but much of the information on there has not yet been rendered obsolete and can still be helpful for understanding the intricacies of the class. You can also message the author(s) ingame and they would be happy to answer questions.
Until then, there’s not a whole lot we can say other than “yes” or “no.”
(edited by Purple Miku.7032)
The UI team for this game is very bad.
They seem to favor “simplicity”, the problem is that definition is their own and doesn’t come from the players. Because of this alot of information is missing from the UI which makes combat difficult (e.g, an always visible combat log so you can both chat and watch the skills you’re being hit with at the same time).
There are dozens of UI features implemented in even the most basic indie MMO that have yet to make their way to the GW2 UI and the developers have never really given a reason beyond that they don’t want to clutter it up. Yet at the same time they keep trying to push more advanced content like PvP and raids that the game just cannot handle with the current UI limitations.
You can’t make a “pro” game with a “poor” user interface.
Lol, you might be right about the UI being imperfect but if you’re gonna compare GW2’s UI with other games out there… you’re completely mistaken if you think GW2’s is on the low end of the spectrum.
Out of all MMOs out there I have yet to see a UI as terrible as Tera’s, and I’m gonna say GW2’s UI is much more user-friendly and customizable than Archeage’s and like 10x better than some other garbage MMO I’ve tried called Regnum Online.
Runescape was another game I’ve tried where it had an extremely customizable UI but it looks hideous no matter what you try to do with it, along with the game and terrible gameplay so it seemed pointless. They sacrificed a lot to be able to make one of the most customizable UIs ever, so it was overrated.
WoW I have not tried so I can’t comment much on it other than aesthetics and to be honest, doesn’t look like it stomps on GW2’s or anything.
FFXIV I’m going to say beats GW2 in this topic, but out of most of the games that come to mind GW2’s UI doesn’t fall short nearly as much as you make it out to sound.
From what my friend tells me, FFXIV raids have much better mechanics than the fights on GW2 however he says that the raid released so far on here is actually pretty good.
I will ask him if he wants to post about it in detail for ya. One thing I can tell you now though is that on FFXIV they release content very frequently (as expected from a subscription MMO) and the content is very rewarding from what I understand… dungeons on that game don’t get their rewards nerfed by 66% xD
You guys might have different reasons for hating this expansion than me, but at least I’m in the same boat as most of you.
For me, this content took away more than it gave. I used to play for friends and because I enjoyed streaming and doing Arah and FotM and occasionally other dungeons on the side… but now I can’t do any of these things unless it’s HoT content and nothing else.
HoT content involves pretty much everything split between open world and raids, and I’m not going to stream raids because those kind of have teamspeak as a benchmark requirement and it would be both disrespectful to friends to stream them constantly and also add pressure to everybody as we struggle to succeed.
I can’t do what I liked to do anymore because Anet basically forced the community away from dungeons, so if I stream Arah no one will care or wanna see it… fractals are absolutely destroyed and are even less rewarding than before the update which says a LOT…
So what I’m left to do is either open world PvE or raiding. Why the kitten can’t we have these and the legacy content? Why did they have to destroy dungeons and fractals? I didn’t expect this to happen with HoT, and I wasn’t expecting much to begin with.
I’m kind of dumbfounded that going into this I did not have my hopes up, yet they still find their ways to disappoint me. It’s like they have disappointment down to a science or something.
I think the biggest kick in the teeth aside from waiting for years for this overinflated hype balloon is that we have to pay 1g + fractal relics to salvage the absolutely worthless ascended rings we have been collecting for the past several years. Like, are you serious?!!?
I just don’t know guys. I haven’t played in a month, and it’s kinda hard to quit everything because I didn’t feel ready to do it but the game itself doesn’t appeal to me at all anymore. Perhaps I’ll actively play again but I guess for now I’ll just be on other games and being a negative nancy on the forums sometimes? ._.
(edited by Purple Miku.7032)
Your target audience won’t give a kitten. Your target audience, the people complaining about it being too hard, are going to continue complaining until they can complete it easily. Until and unless that happens, they will not seize their incessant complaints.
Such is that of the current era of gamers.
Nope, I’m not actually.
You can trashtalk me to your heart’s content, won’t change a thing.
Sure thing. I tnink the problem is that there’s legendary armor which gives you some really good benefits. Which you can obtain only if you do AND finish raids. So, I think most of casuals don’t mind adding new hardcore content for you guys, but without rewards that gives you something that can’t be obtained in other aspects of the game and gives benefits at the same time. You can have some exclusive minis and skins. After all, you’re doing challenge content for challenge, not to get stuff to discriminate people, right?
Nope, I’ve never ever ever agreed with the mentality that rewards should be homogenized across all gamemodes. I was one of the strong opposers to the PvP reward tracks because I find it stupid for dungeon skins to be obtained without having to actually do the dungeons themselves.
Just like that, I’d find it stupid to get legendary armor with a theme derived from raids anywhere besides from raids.
Besides, actually doing something worth a kitten should mean you get something worth a kitten .
If a player isn’t willing or capable to put forth the time investment and effort needed to succeed, they shouldn’t. That is my philosophy and I think that for the game integrity itself, there needs to be greater emphasis on this. I don’t give a kitten if casual players yield the most profits.
(edited by Purple Miku.7032)
Honestly despite the fact that it’s possible to succeed in the new raid with tempest, it’s still not worth taking if you want to optimise.
The truth is that elementalist isn’t really in good shape right now because it’s had so much taken away from it in the past 2 years without having gained nearly as much by comparison with a lot of the other classes.
It isn’t a bad class, but it just isn’t really worth it anymore (at least right now it isn’t).
Warriors are absurdly strong in PvE and in all honesty deserve a damage reduction in my opinion due to what the elite specialization gives. It’s funny because last year its damage was nerfed to such a pitiful state that I was posting on here saying the complete opposite, yet now it’s so high that it very easily surpasses the output of the pre-ferocity days.
As for PvP, I don’t think I’ve seen a single person on these forums mention warrior being in a good position. The elite specialization doesn’t provide anything that the warrior actually needs in PvP and is fairly selfish, offering essentially nothing for groups. In addition to that, the adrenaline mechanic probably needs to be looked at again (decay rate mainly) and you’ll also find many people around here strongly believe that part of the biggest problems that warriors have are that they’re forced to take defense/discipline due to a few traits like fast hands, cleansing ire, etc.
This was obviously going to happen
Pvers are now divided into raiders and non raiders with introduction of raidsI have a suggestion though say “Yolo” and all the elitists won’t bother you
That acronym either doesn’t mean what you think it means or you don’t understand its usage xD
—
Anyways OP it’s not a bad thing for there to be content that requires organisation and more demanding of gameplay because for 3 years now GW2 has had no endgame in PvE, nothing but just playing dressup. It’s just one aspect of the game and it’s brand new content so let people have their fun.
What is bad, however, is that dungeons and fractals got rekt, dungeons obviously way more so. If you wanna really know what the division you speak of is caused by, it’s that instead of there being open world PvE, dungeons, fractals and raids there’s open world PvE, completely abandoned dungeons, completely pointless-to-do fractals, and raids.
They may claim that fractals are still in their interest but we clearly know that if they were, they wouldn’t have made the rewards so kitten awful nor would they have neglected to add new fractals after years of no new dungeons. Basically what I’m getting at is they’re limiting our options to open world and raids if you want to be rewarded for your time invested.
The expansion should have only added content to the game, not replace the existing content -.-
Now count 2 and 2 together, will you? The game is greatly intended for “casual” players and it is doing well. Could it be that it is doing well BECAUSE it is intended for “casual” players?
Sure, it’s doing well in major part because it caters to casual players. Does that mean it should never in its entire lifetime do anything for any other kind of player? Of course not.
The game is littered with content that was supposed to be “challenging”. Dungeons, fractals, Tequatl, the Triple Wurms. The content locust crowd devoured each in turn and then came crying to Anet for more when they got bored with them. What happens when you get bored with this, too? Anet’s resources aren’t infinite, if they start focusing on raids to the exclusion of actually accessible content, people are going to get angry (and rightfully so).
People are going to get angry regardless, what even is your point?
I don’t understand why it’s an impossible notion to accept that literally ONE TIME in the history of this game they decide to release something that actually requires effort exerted to succeed, it does NOT mean that they have suddenly decided to cater to hardcore players rather than casuals.
It is also frustrating seeing other players making excuses for the company’s resources. It’s not just you that does this, it’s all over the forums and reddit too and it’s just ridiculous to shut down suggestions/content requests from other players because “it’s too much work,” when they have nothing to do with the company that works on it to begin with.
This community is probably one of the most obnoxious MMO communities I’ve ever seen strictly because of how many people demand for damage to be normalised across all gearsets.
There’s literally no way to make these people happy other than removing power, precision, ferocity and condition damage from the attributes.
-gives up and walks away-
Then you missed the huge announcement and bunches of forum posts of people complaining about it. It is so easy to make money in HoT, do Verdant Brink for an hour and you make 5-10 gold easily.
Just because it requires slightly more effort than a mindless dungeon run doesn’t mean it’s bad.
5-10 gold in an hour is bullkitten.
That means you’re making 50-100 gold by playing for nearly the entirety of a day excluding time to sleep/eat your meals, and you’d have to do this dozens of times to get a legendary.
Regardless of what way you look at it, this game has terrible moneymaking methods outside of the trading post.
I definitely plan to try out BDO!
I also have heard some good things about BnS, but I can’t be bothered to get founder for it to have beta access.
Also… preordering is something I will absolutely never do.
EDIT: It’s not Anet’s fault that people in the community aren’t nice.
Are you implying that because people did not welcome OP for being a cleric ele, they aren’t nice?
Lmfao, “create elitism.”
Such an ignorant thing to say. Elitism exists on all games and is already and has been rampant throughout GW2 since launch and will always exist. As long as there’s a disparity of skill level, which there always will be, then there will always be people who get fed up with crappy players being on their team and will try to avoid it happening.
There’s literally no possible way to completely eliminate elitism from happening in combat oriented settings unless you normalise any and all possible output from every single piece of equipment, skill, and level of all players in the game.
There was actually one point in the video where OP swapped to air attunement.
https://youtu.be/0anv1XswfIc?t=8m15s
Then back to water for the next 42 minutes.
https://youtu.be/0anv1XswfIc?t=20m35s
Well, congrats. I guess you’ve just proven the extent of which this game has to offer.
Have you tried Sceptre and Warhorn? Dragon’s Tooth and Wildfire?
Cooldown on Wildfire is probably too long.
Scepter and warhorn are both crap, and also dagger main hand has drake’s breath which is pretty huge for a condi build
yeah, at this point i just want the old fractals back.
This is pretty much what people were saying after the fractured update in late 2013.
Fractals were the best before that update for sure.
I will update the guides yeah, it’s just going to take me some time since I don’t really play the game anymore.
If you want, I made these two rotational videos showing the elite specialisation though:

Nope OP you’re not the only one.
It’s just that after getting kittened so many times in a row, you get to the point where you realise “maybe I should just not bother anymore.”
Games tend to be more fun when you feel rewarded for the time you invest into it. That’s really all there is to it.

But hey, at least we have CoF P1 to level mastery’s up, because what says “SHINY NEW EXPANSION HYPE” like a return to the days of CoF P1 farming? Pretty sure i ported right on top of you outside the dungeon last night actually, Miku xD
Hmmm no that couldn’t have been me because I wasn’t on GW2 at all yesterday aside from idly chatting in LA for about 10 mins before having left to play another game, had to have been somebody else

Well sad to say it but I can’t be bothered to solo the remaining 600 tokens needed for the giveaway I was planning, and literally none of my friends care about anything but expansion-related crap right now. Great, not even pugs want to. Bleh.
So yeah It’s gonna have to be postponed for now I guess, because I wanna puke when I log into GW2 atm. Absolutely nothing is fun to me on there. If you stop to actually think about the content provided to us on friday, you will realise that despite the pretty graphics and hard work that went into it the content is not actually rewarding and if you’re enjoying it at all, you would most likely be glued to your screen with excitement if you tried some other games and see what some of those have to offer.
Just gonna mess around on AA again like last year and wait for raids I guess to make my verdict of whether or not I wanna keep the game installed right now. :x

Right, it’s not like it’s a support spec with its only supportive elements limited to its offhand weapon, which was already true of its vanilla weapons.
Oh wait, that’s exactly what it is.
That and the fact that it doesn’t even have that good of supportive elements either. It literally has nothing about it that seems strong.
Wait.
Currently there’s nothing that’s actually fun to do yet, because honestly as pretty as the graphics of verdant brink are it’s not like there’s anything that’s actually fun to do in it.
Also it’s important to note that the existing dungeon content got completely butchered, so right now they are 100% relying on the raids coming up soon to be a complete hit.
Wait and see, just don’t be too hasty to purchase new games ever. It’s not like they’re disappearing forever after all so just be wise and do a little research into what you’re purchasing.
Bought it twice on two accounts and now i think i should have wait and not preorder it.
Preordering games is never worth it, period.
It is not a disaster just because you are too cheap to afford an expansion. The fact of the matter is, Arena net seems genereous when you compared to other companies.
Also, if you are not going to buy the expansion why bother run dungeons? Those things are never going to be improved and it makes everything pointless.
Lmao, so people who don’t buy the expansion are being cheap? What if it’s because they disagree with the direction of the company and don’t want to throw money at them when they’re skeptical of their business practices?
The condescension is real.
On top of that they looked at their metrics and figured that since everyone was doing level 39, it clearly meant we loved having mobs explode on death so they gave us 10 whole levels of it.
And on 71+ you lose all boons when you dodge… is this supposed to be fun? Dealing abysmal amounts of damage never has been for me, dunno bout you guys.
Yeah, this coupled with the fact that they pretty much are destroying dungeons and made fractals a gold sink for us as well leave me with a really really bitter taste in my mouth.
