personally i dont like the idea of dungeon selling it discourages people from learning and playing the dungeons themselves

I wont sell my silk and Elderwood on the Trading post then, It discourages players from collecting it themselves.

Thats Fine that you do not like Selling paths Goat. Really it is. but your logic against it is.. well nasomuch.

Dungeoning is meant to be done in groups so if there are less people doing it for such reasons it really does affect others who want to do it. On the other hand whether you want to sell your elder wood or not I can always go out and get my own solo.

if you see the lfg sometimes there is only path seller people need to PAY to get in a dungeon i tink this is not in the spirit of a people cooperation, becouse people get kikked by the path sellers from the istance (i don’t tink someone can do all the istance alone and after they sell :P), and from another perpective ipotize the new players don’t have money to buy path? at those players is forbidden the istance? yes you will again tell that they can make their own group, but how they do if the most time they get kikked or top player don’t want play whit them or there is (like always) only path sellers? do you realize this is not a good way to encourage people to play togheter? if you want to make gold there is other ways like crafting. And please, tell my own entering in a dungeon boss 1% paying is “gaming” or i just suppose you like to pay to win?

Just died of laughter listening to my friend use a british accent trying to read this outloud on TS. Jesus christ lmfao. He was so confused trying to decipher this.

Nobody need a dmg boost on the last hit from 100b..
In pvp you almost never hit that last finalstrike.

They should remake 100b to be more viable in pvp also.. Reduce its dmg but make it faster and little bit mobile so you can turn.

Ow and sharp just told us warriors to suck it up.. Nothing gets changed (see “communication with you” topic)

Yeah, what about other game modes? You have to consider PvE as well with changes. Part of the reason why all of these balance changes suck so much is because it ruins gameplay for PvE players for no reason.

They should increase the damage of the final strike on hundred blades by 10%, add a 5 second timer before adrenaline starts decaying, and put the decay rate at exactly what it was before.

I’d be fine with that. They should also keep the adrenaline loss on burst usage regardless of hit/miss, I think that’s a reasonable change.

The pugs don’t actually have to be that good unless they’re specifically built for lots of might stacking and no DPS (like having multiple staff guardians spamming Empower). If you can actually add the full 25 stacks to the party the actual required break-even DPS for each individual party member is actually really low. Like full knights, no DPS spec bearbow low.

I admit I exaggerated a bit with the remark about breaking even, yeah.

The point I was ultimately trying to make is that the gain isn’t nearly as substantial as it’s frequently made out to be and the loss the warrior has to take for it is obnoxiously higher than made out to be. If an ele, which provides both fury AND longer-lasting might does the job, the gain is substantially higher.

While I agree that good pug groups would be better of with an ele stacking might for the party, I don’t run speed runs, and generally run with a pug group that isn’t good. (maybe it’s just my luck). In any case it is circumstancial, and I don’t run it always.

With the stacks of might I can provide on myself, I have a bit more attack power then what I normally run. Of course DPS is greatly diminished without any stacks of might. And again, it’s circumstancial at best. Either way I like it.

I understand that you aren’t trying to optimize your combat efficacy, which is fine.

You should do what pleases you— I just posted because I didn’t like reading things like “you should be running PS” spread around, that’s all. It’s fine if someone wants to use it, but I don’t find it fine to tell people that in any circumstance people should be using it.

It reminds me of when everybody was making a huge deal about how warriors should always be bringing EA, when the reality was that the trait was crippling more than it was beneficial in every circumstance besides FGSing a boss down (which is now nerfed).

Either way, glad to have shared opinions here with you guys!

Never have I said that there aren’t people who want to learn but not willing to go all the way with meta builds and consumables. Try reading my post again. I made it clear that I don’t care what someone wants to use but if they don’t want to equip themselves properly by a certain standard I set, then I would rather not bother.

It is my choice whether or not I want to spend time teaching someone and no one else’s. I’m not interested in giving personal lessons to people who aren’t going to try to learn how to play the way that I intend to teach them to play.

There’s nothing toxic about having different requirements to be met before giving lessons to someone. What is toxic is you having a temper tantrum on the majority of the threads you post on trying to incite argument for the sake of bloating your own ego.

I run it and love. Yet it is circumstantial at best. In a pug dungeon run, almost always. But I will reconsider if I see an ele, then end up running it anyway, because I see they have a staff :P I often get more full signet warrior than I ever care to see, so will run it then. As far as a loss in DPS? I feel that the stacks of might make up for whatever DPS I may have lost when traiting for PS

You don’t get the extra PS stacks, only your allies, so it really depends on team DPS and how much might they’re getting without you. If your allies are getting 0 stacks without you, it’ll probably be worth it no matter how poorly specced they are, but if they’re already sitting at around 10-15 stacks with their own gear and skills, the gain is going to be pretty marginal or even negative after factoring your personal DPS loss.

True, I may not get full benefits, but I can get around 18 stacks for myself, and 20-23 stacks for the party. And that brings up my DPS to a little bit more than what I do normally.

No it doesn’t. You take a monstrous loss in personal DPS to provide the might to the others. Even if you’re in full berserker with either scholar or strength runes and full ascended, your personal DPS is so much lower that the gain from the might stacks that the party can get is relatively close to being offset…

Like, the pugs would have to be good for it to be worthwhile which makes it a totally redundant trait; if the pugs are good, they won’t require measures like this for partywide might :P

Better leave that job to the ele.

Ferocity negatively impacted everyone, but it affected berserker much less than most of other gear specs. If you want it to die, you should want pre-ferocity lmao.

@Zaxares – Yeah I know how to get to them, they’re actually really easy.

I’d show but I can’t log in. There’s probably a few videos of it on yt though!

You access them from the path along the way to Noxx in P1; you hop onto one of the railings in a certain spot, then simply jump/leap across. I can’t remember if a leap was required.

I only taught a few people how to run Arah that contacted me through the Noob guild. All 3 of them were more than happy to not only buy nourishments, weapons, and runes/sigils, but they were already in berserker to begin with and were on warriors.

I guess I never was in the position to try to give personal lessons to people in PHIW builds but I would quite frankly refuse to teach people that aren’t willing to properly equip themselves. I’d probably just tell them to PM me if they ever feel like learning when they gear themselves at least similarly to what I expect.

PS isn’t worth using. Oxtred’s post above summarizes the reality, which is that the gain simply does not justify the loss in lackluster pug groups. It’s nice that you want to be a team player but considering the huge sacrifices you have to make for it… you’re putting yourself in the position where you rely on the pugs because should they fail, you have horrific personal DPS. I don’t consider this as much of a ‘pug carrier’ because you’re kind of relying on them which from personal experience is a bad idea in pugs.

Under no circumstances would I recommend traiting for it really.

I bought DA:O ultimate edition on steam but after 3 hours so far it’s been meh for me. I’m sure it gets a lot better as you progress though. I love how there’s like no lag whatsover which surprised and pleased me. I chose mage, and that Jowan NPC at the start was annoying. I wanted to kick his kitten so bad for whining constantly! xD

I will have to keep playing it to see how the combat changes— I chose hard mode cause why not, hope that wasn’t a mistake lmao.

Anywho… QueueAge hype!

If anyone wants to try, the NA server I will be playing on is Saphira and the EU one is Kyprosa (I think that’s where all the rT guys are… started with a K that’s all I remember).

Super long queues atm though.

so lupi is being that much of a kitten tonight that he is not even using lube. 3 sets of 4 locusts right before the phase transition between 1 and 2. and his ranged attack hitting me in melee range when trying to solo. and add in 2 or 3 double kicks.

Used to happen to me all the time.

It gets worse— wait until he starts running away from you and bubbling while you’re standing directly beneath him without moving.

Don’t forget the infamous stealth, shadow step to npc, rubber band back and shoot you.

Never gonna get tired of this video being relevant.

I have a question, as I have uninstalled a week ago and can’t test.

Is it failing when your target is standing completely still or only if they moved/are moving?

I can say from firsthand experience when I was still playing that it would only fail when I used it from a distance on a target that was moving, or if the enemy had a large hitbox (i.e. Lupicus). I understand you’re likely only talking about PvP or WvW, but the concept is the same nonetheless.

I don’t associate skill with AP at all.
I associate AP with game time.

You say that at the start of the post but… go on to contradict yourself afterwards. If you’re using AP to determine whether or not someone is likely to know what to do in a dungeon then you’re associating it with that person’s ability to perform which is wrong.

Having experience with miscellaneous achievements has nothing to do with whether or not someone is likely to perform well in a dungeon— having experience with the dungeons themselves does. You have no way of knowing that based off of AP because the two have nothing to do with one another.

Also high AP doesn’t even necessarily mean having a lot of game time either. I’ve played more hours than some of my friends that have 14-15k AP, yet I have less than 9k.

The trick is Learning how to read LFGs.
And despite what they say, AP are a great indicator….not too low nor too high.
Coupled with other things.

That’s not true at all. It literally makes no difference whatsoever when it comes to pugs— I’ve had necros with <1k AP perform better than 99% of the pugs that I’ve typically gotten before and I’ve had people with over 15k AP doing swell too.

If you were to average it out amongst all pugs you ever get, you’d obviously end up with an AP range in the few thousands as it includes people with low and high… what difference does it make?

It irritates me when people associate skill with AP as it’s completely irrelevant. What you should be looking for is checking what their traits/weapon choices are along with whether or not they are willing to communicate. The vast majority of all friends that I’ve had on this game would rather have a noob pug that is willing to learn and will actively respond than someone silent and passive.

Support, but as far as weapon changes of concerned… I think whirling axe shouldn’t be interrupted by dodge rolls. That was one feature, whether intended or not, that actually made the skill worth using in niche situations in PvP/WvW for players that liked the skill (I personally hate axe offhand skills). Poor choice on their part to take it away!

Also, can we add greatsword into your thread here too please?!

Nice job. I remember trying this once before but I kept getting terrible RNG with the aoe circles and ragequit. Also she’d bug out and aggro during her invisible phases, which kittened me off quite a bit. I think you’re the only one to have done it pre-nerf, so grats. It will never be possible again

It’s not the same people working on GW2 as it was on GW1. That is a huge reason why we’ve seen the game become so casual-friendly and why there’s such a massive emphasis on the cash shop instead of quality content updates with profession balancing.

Consider this lovely image of a cow here, which will represent the players of GW2. This cow will be milked, by a thirsty farmer named ArenaNet. Instead of milk, it’s our money.

The cow is compensated with hipster reading glasses, clown outfits and various other extremely useful items like swimming speed boosters as opposed to new dungeons, new classes, bug fixes, new skills, new weapons, new minigames and various other exciting things.

The degree at which damage has been nerfed in the past half a year is just unbelievable.

Compare this pre-ferocity Korga solo of mine 4:46 http://www.twitch.tv/purpleishawt/c/3805255

with this pre 9/9 patch Korga solo 5:21… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBwcLu5k_Rs

Differences:

  • The pre-ferocity solo I had scholar runes as opposed to strength runes and was able to keep an axe with undead slaying, whereas pre-9/9 feature patch solo I had to use a bloodlust axe to keep my stacks.
  • The pre-ferocity solo I only had one sigil on greatsword (undead slaying), as 2h weapons only had one sigil… as opposed to having force+undead slaying in the pre-9/9 patch solo.
  • Pre-ferocity I maxed slightly above 40k on Korga with 100b (at best), whereas pre-9/9 I rarely got to ~33k.
  • I played much better in the more recent solo that I did in 5:21, and you’ll probably be able to tell the difference yourself. In that 4:46 solo I probably could have done it 20 seconds faster. I did goof up once and get knocked back in the second video, but overall the difference in time to solo is like 3/4 of a minute (45 seconds on average) which is pathetic.

It’s just stupid to see how much they’ve progressively lowered damage. Times will be even slower now that they’ve not only neutered warriors with the adrenaline changes, but with less fury + might uptime from Signet of Rage and the 5% damage nerfs to both 100b + WWA… we’re looking at an extra half a minute added to solo times on average.

Instead of sub-4:30 solo times to go for, I’d have to play on the same level just for a sub-6:00… yeah, no thanks.

It’s better to use GS as primary with 65003 traits and swap to axe + X.

X can be whatever, but generally speaking the most useful offhands will be warhorn, sword and mace.

With that being said I hope they will slightly improve warriors in PvE again. If the math I’ve seen is correct warriors will lose quite a lot of DPS (didn’t do the math myself yet so I can’t confirm it).

Warriors lose a hell of a lot of DPS in solo settings but in groups the DPS loss isn’t nearly as much. It still really blows and we’ve been getting repeatedly nerfed every patch.

Loved it tho. I don’t know how consistently you can do what’s demonstrated in your video but I still get angry with arcane brilliance occasionally not counting as a blast and when it doesn’t register my weapon swaps fast enough before I press the skill key. Latency issues I guess.

Yeah I know that theoretically it’s supposed to be slightly better, but it requires 3 assassin ascended pieces. If you have that, rending strikes is ever so slightly better but if you’re in full berserker, deep strikes seems to be a little better.

I remember talking about that in pm a while ago. It’s less than 100 DPS increase and I said “kitten it, I’m not going to spend hundreds of gold for that if I’m not even making infusions.” :P

Yeah see I’m using undead slaying in mine. If I were to use superior sharpening stone I’d be at 2,949 power if I’m not mistaken.. which would put me at around the same as yours. Either way, super close to the same but I’m always using slaying potions if applicable and thanks for sharing!

- Remove Varra Skylark from p1 or make it so that she neither attacks or can be attacked. She is the worst NPC in existence and pulls mobs on a regular basis or keeps them aggroed to you even if you don’t want that. Randall also has an issue with keeping aggro as he runs at enemies, breaks aggro shortly in front of them, goes back to you, repeat.

The reason the mistfire wolf was OP is when Lupi was about to shadowstep to the wolf after the grub, Lupi reluctantly pauses for half a minute before decided just avoiding the wolf altogether.

I once had a warrior arguing with me that placing a warbanner just b4 the fight starts to gain fury is the best thing to do.
When I explained him its not, he insisted fury OP, so we need the warbanner.

Nothing wrong with that actually, especially if it’s just dungeon runs.

That is the short answer. I’m guessing that isn’t gonna be a satisfying response so I’ll go into some detail as to why that is the case!

So truth be told, warriors are of the strongest when it comes to soloing. As more players are added into the picture, the warrior’s efficacy increases as expected but not to the degree of most other classes. Does that make sense?

If not, consider how an elementalist fares when soloing. Sure they can be monsters and have plenty of skills at their disposal but the combat is typically not as fluid as a warrior’s will be.

Most of the time, a warrior’s rotation won’t change nearly as much as an elementalist’s will when put under pressure; a warrior doesn’t need to blast in fire fields for their fury or might but an elementalist does. Warriors have 3 blocks at their disposal to use if needed be, but often won’t need more than one (sword offhand) when the situation calls for it. An elementalist doesn’t have these luxuries, as swirling winds/obsidian flesh/arcane shield all have long cooldowns by comparison and since managing your attunements is extremely important for maintaining fury+might uptime, it’s fairly obvious that elementalists have a more difficult time with accessing what they need and maintaining rotations.

Warriors don’t necessarily need to change traits as frequently as an elementalist does when swapping weapons (staff and d/f benefit greatly from different traits and conjure use is important to factor in as well).

I’m not familiar with other classes aside from these two in detail so it’d only be proper to draw a comparison between the king of solos (warr) and the king of groups (ele). Warrior is built for soloing, but there’s little that changes with their gameplay between solo and group content. Whether or not other people are present, a warrior’s rotations won’t change a whole lot.

I’m currently making a warrior build without using weapons. I use physical attacks to take down my ennemy, along with damage on dodge. I know it’s not really optimal, but it works! I killed a moa yesterday, he couldn’t react with that bull’s charge/kick/stomp combo. If anet could buff no weapon users to make them on par with weapon users, it would promote build diversity.

Pretty much identical to what the OP wants, yep.
