I really like these ideas. Changing up the roles of the weapons so no weapon is concrete dps, or condi. Maybe add some sort of self buff or passive on one of the F2 or F3 skills?
Well, I was a fan of the GS/Axe + Shield/Rifle Berserker combination, but I felt like I got mowed down too much, so I made this build. Since I’m really new to theorycrafting, I would really like criticism. But don’t come on to say useless things please. Okay, on to the build, since I know some people won’t want to click on links, its a 30/10/20/10/0 build. I know it sounds ridiculous but just hear me out. This is a spin off of the skullcrack + hundred blades idea(credits to that guy whoever it is), just as a disclaimer.
Strength Line: 30- II, IX, XI
II-Restorative Strength: Using a heal skill removes crippled, chilled, immobilize, and weakness.
IX-Slashing Power: Greatsword and spear damage is increased by 10%.
XI-Berserker’s Power: Increases damage based on adrenaline (1 stage = 5%, 2 stages = 10%, 3 stages = 15%)
Arms Line: 10- IV
IV-Unsuspecting Foe: Increases critical hit chance by 50% when the enemy is stunned
Defense Line: 20- II, IX
II-Dogged March: Incoming immobilize, chill, and cripple durations are reduced by 33%. Gain regeneration for 3 seconds when you are affected by one of these conditions (this regeneration can only be gained once every 10 seconds).
IX-Cleansing Ire: Gain adrenaline when hit. Remove a condition for every bar of adrenaline spent.
Tactics: 10- II/III
II-Empower Allies: Increases power of nearby allies by 150 points.
or
III-Desperate Power: You deal 20% additional damage while below 50% maximum health.
So as you can see, the traits are everywhere. The strength trait line allows for consistent dps with some condition removal if the heal is ever used. The arms trait allows a high crit chance after skullcrack + hundred blades. The defense line allows condition removal on burst and healing until the burst is used and more condition removal. The tactics trait line is more support vs solo.
The weapons are Mace + Shield/GS, and it uses the skullcrack-hundred blades combo. The GS has a Superior sigil of Force and the mace has Superior sigil of Paralyzation(15% stun duration) and shield has a sigil of energy. This makes skull crack have a ton of extra duration, and unsuspecting foe allows 100% crit chance with hundred blades.
Heal:
The heal skill is Healing Signet, for when the blocks mitigate damage, and some health can be regenerated.
Utilities:
For Great Justice, Shake it Off, and either Bulls charge, endure pain, or berserkers stance. The elite skill should be Signet of Rage. Anyway, as you can see, the last utility can change based on what class you’re going against. Endure pain for bursty classes, bulls charge for classes that jump around, and berserkers stance for condition heavy classes.
The armor has 6 runes of the soldier for condition removal and tankiness, and the amulet is a Berserker’s Amulet with Berserker’s Jewel. This provides for a decent balance of dps and defense. The last perk of soldier runes helps quite a bit with condition removal. Sorry, I’m writing this in a rush, I will add on more later, and I apologize for any spelling errors ahead of time. So please comment, criticize, I would really appreciate it! Thanks!
Yes I would like to bump this since no one replied to my thread >.>
Hi everyone, I’m new to the thief class and I wanted to know what’s a good leveling build complete with utilities and weapons. I like the mechanics of jumping around in and out of stealth and hitting spontaneous high bursts so I would like some sort of berserker type of build. Is there such a good leveling build? Thanks!
For PvE, I have 72% from traits and equips. Fury (from SoR) bring it to 90. Fury(from FGJ or other source) brings it to 92. Banner I believe brings me to 99-100 ish.
In pvp I have about 47% from traits and equips and fury and unsuspecting foe bring me to…oh gosh…117% crit chance…dang looks like ill be respec’ing soon xD anyway, 25 can or cannot be enough depending on your build. Conditions don’t need much crit but full zerk you will need more.
you’re using Sigil of Accuracy when you have a mathematical crit chance that is at or over 100%. you’re missing out on the flat 10% damage boost that Smoldering Sigil gives. there it is. they could also be running Signet of Might for more power.
That’s kinda true. But I want my set-up to be more all purpose, not just cof and I feel like I won’t always run a banner of discipline. So instead of smoldering, should I maybe try force or night?
F2 button that is like a mini “burst”. For some skills it could stun, others it could block, and maybe it could consume 1 or 2 bars instead of all the adrenaline?
Warriors have low sustain, we can tank a decent burst, we can deal an awesome burst but in a prolonged fight we run out of ways to heal and die. That being said, in WvW there are a few warrior builds that are still pretty kitten good and can hold their own against a Guardian. The only problem in killing him before his friends arrive.
I TOTALLY agree here. In most wvw fights and some sPvP fights, I can’t burst down the guard but he doesn’t deal much damage to me either so it’s relatively equal. But the battle lasts like 2 minutes…and his friends come. Then. I die ._. but…in PvE warriors have the highest raw damage, so if you want to see high numbers go ahead and try warriors. If you have the right build, or are bursty enough, you’ll be fine
It seems I just have some sort of passive -15% damage condition on me -_- I just ran a ton of cofs again and most people averaged around 36-38k with the same equips as me. They had less crit damage too…
Would that 3-5% damage be able to boost me that much? I feel like I’m lacking some really important aspect that’s holding my damage back a lot. I’m looking at screenshots of 40k+ damage on lots of bosses and mobs, how do they hit like that? Ive even seen a 52k, which just makes me feel weak and useless
For example, how do you hit 40k+ on lupicus wethospu?
Depends on what you want type of build you want to run. For berserker, I run a 30/25/0/0/15, but I’ve heard that 30/0/0/10/30 is quite good too, once the bugged traits are fixed. Go for knights if you can’t survive well or berserker if you can. Axe/mace, axe/shield, and axe/axe are all viable weapon swaps to GS or rifle. Try to minimize the signets to around 2ish, so you can use some utilities(endure pain, bull’s rush etc)
Well I have a 74% crit chance without any boons. Fury brings me to 94. The banner puts me around 98-100. 90% crit damage is without the banner. I think the banner puts me at 105…
The banner adds just over 8% crit chance so if you math’ed everything else out properly, ur over 100% :P
Maybe I do have over 100% crit. Perhaps my crit damage is a little lower than it should be? Is that why I’m not really “maximizing” my dps? Thanks for the responses so far! Does anyone have a status update on the bugged traits Berserkers Power and Heightened Focus?

If it helps, I use a sigil of accuracy because I feel that with that 5%, I crit more and when I crit, I reach into my +90% critical damage pool. Would sigil of force actually be better?
Depends on what sort of build you want to run. I’ve heard that in tPvP, zerk builds don’t work out very well since you tend to get outlasted by tank bunkers. But, in normal sPvP I find that a berserker build works out quite well. Before adjusting my build, I ran a 30/10/0/0/30 build with the two grandmaster traits and deep strikes for high precision. I would use rifle and greatsword, rifle to soften them up as they walk towards me, and immobilize + hundred blades to finish them (coupled with frenzy)
I guess. But even watching YouTube videos, I notice that everyone hits 40k ish.
All the ones I’ve asked say they average around 40k. I’ve asked like 3-4 party’s worth of zerk warriors. How high do you guys hit on him? They tell me that on the legendary effigy they can average 30-35k too. My highest is 28 -__- do I just ask the wrong people or am I just weak?
Hi guys, I felt that when I PvE dungeon with full zerk warriors in places like cof, I’m never pulling my weight. I run a 30/25/0/0/15 build and even with full might stacks, full vulnerability and fury, I’m only hitting up to 34k on slave driver with 100B. What really kills my damage is a non crit but i cant do anything since a ton of the traits are bugged. All my fellow party members hit like 25% higher. So to all you zerk warriors…how do you hit so high? I have full zerk exotic armor and weapons and 4 ascended zerk trinkets and the rest are exotic. I usually run with a sharpening stone and some sort of food buff. Also , if it helps, I have 90% crit chance and 92/94% crit without banners or food.

Hi guys, just want a general opinion, I have a 26 charr guardian, but I feel like his movements are too clumsy, and I’m thinking of remaking as a human. I already have a human warrior so I didn’t want repetition. But, here’s also a question, is the clumsiness just in my head? Or do charrs attack slower?
Guys! Go check again! It worked for me!
Wow. I left it on for 2 1/2 hours on the “checking for update” and it just gave me a connection error when I came back. Now I’m not even downloading the patch since I deleted the Local.dat file. Now, I’m just “checking for updates”. ANet please give us some sort of update! Half the players are stuck outside the game unable to even download it! Bump this thread if you agree!
I tried deleting the Local.dat file and retrying, and it’s still stuck at 0.00kb/sec with occasional fluctuations to 15ish.
No I haven’t
I restarted my computed and did everything but it still hovers at 0.01 or 0.00kb/sec. Could someone please address this? It’s really frustrating.
Hi, I just started to download the patch, and the speed is extremely slow. Usually, patches take me maybe 5-10 minutes AT MOST, with some of the quicker ones in a few seconds. This patch has been going for an hour with 0.00-15kb/sec. It periodically stops at 0.00kb/sec for a few seconds and resumes, going as high as 15 and then slowly dwindling down. I already checked my ethernet, and its fine since I am experiencing no lag or slow connection other than the patcher. Does anyone happen to know why this is happening?
Ok, thank you! So that means basically 30/10/00/30 is out of the ballgame? I feel like that near 100% critical chance is pretty nice too.
Depends both of those have good points and both works fine either way, it comes down to what you think and what the group you play with thinks.
I prefer 30/25, although in optimal settings 30/10 might be better I personally havent yet run in a PVE group that consistently allow 30/10 to shine. That said its a bit selfish, Empowered trait is really nice for the group itself.
Also altough farming is mindless it all comes down to speed and 30/25 def. does more dmg when running solo.
Thanks for the input! When you mean 30/10 do you mean a 30/10/00/30 or a 30/00/10/30?
Hi everyone!
I had a nice berserker build set up until the 6/25 patch. Then the patch came and I couldn’t find a good build. I lost my 100% crit and all my damage. So now I’m appealing to you all, which is the best fit full zerk build for a dungeon and pve runner. I’ve heard 30/25/00/15 is best for solo because of the might stacking and 30/00/10/30 is the best for dungeons because of the damage bonus for extra boons. What build can i run to get a bit of both? I am always in between so I want a build that hits high in both dungeons and running solo, preferably with a high crit chance. Would 30/10/00/30 work? Thank you! Also, if it helps, I’m a gs warrior who likes to see high numbers with hundred blades xD

Hi Nike, just a question, since I’m switching around my builds to maximize my dps, would the 30/25/00/15 be better solo while the 30/00/10/30 is better in a group? I’ve tried running 30/00/10/30 solo outside in pve and found it seems to hit less than 30/25/00/15. So would 30/00/10/30 be a organized group build? Thanks!
Oh, if you guys want field tests, after running both 30/10/00/30 and 30/25/00/15, here is my conclusion. Now just as a disclaimer, these are off tests from dungeons and pve in general so don’t compare them to the numerical statistics. Also, don’t make fun of my damage -__-. So here’s what I’ve seen. Surprisingly, 30/25/00/15 is surprisingly bursty and hits much more. But the drawback is it crits a little less too. 30/10/00/30 crits much more but has steadier damage. So an example I tested on was a veteran risen giant. With the 30/25/00/15, I was able to hit higher than usual, going as high as 25k on the last 100b hit. But sometimes, I wasn’t able to even break 20k. With the 30/10/00/30 build, I hit steady 100% crit attacks but only hovered around 22k, until the fury ended. I ran a few dungeons, and remember going in zerk groups and hitting ~30-33k with the 30/10/00/30, while with 30/25/00/15, I was able to hit 33k with a noncrit in the middle. But then at other places, I hit lower than I was accustomed with the 30/10/00/30 to. So in conclusion, from what I’ve seen, 30/25/00/15 hits a little burstier, while 30/10/00/30 hits a little more consistently.
Ok. I figured out what is going on. I did some more tests just now, and I figured out, I have 100% crit until fury has only 1/4 duration left. Then, even though the boon is there, it wears off, and I start hitting non crits!
I run full berserker everything. Hey veritas, could you test that 100% crit sometime? I know my 100%crit is NOT working. Even 106% can’t guarantee crits -_-
Maybe. I know I hit a non crit with 102% and no weakness though, on some other monsters.
Ok, I ran a few dungeons with 30/10/0/0/30, with heightened focus and the banner(so like 106%crit) and I’m DEFINITELY not hitting 100% crit. Pre-sky pirates I was though…what did they change in this patch that is affecting the crit % cap?
Hmm that’s definitely possible. The monsters I tested against were the fractal 8-18 monsters and the veteran risen giants in Orr. Could there be some sort of anti-crit or anti-damage buff they have?
Maybe. I just tested it out some more, and found that even with 106% critical, I hit noncrits like 1/30 or 1/20 attacks. Not complaining, I just wanna know why 100% isn’t 100%
I’m fine with the damage, but I felt like this patch made 100% into 99% or something.
What traits are you running? Also, if you like the hammer but miss the gs why not run both?
Hi everyone, I posted this on the bug forum, but no replies or acknowledges, so here I am! Hoping the warrior community can tell me what’s going on! I retraited my warrior(since some traits were switched up) and found my final critical chance to be 67%. I have the trait for 15% critical chance with full adrenaline on, and when I get fury, I get 20% critical right? That means, if I use signet of rage, I should go to 85(6720-2 since I get 40 crit per unused signet), and with full adrenaline, 100% right? Yet, when I fought, I had a bunch of non crits even with full fury or adrenaline. This made me think…maybe it’s a 99.9% chance sort of thing? So I swapped out a signet for banner of discipline and planted it down. This put me at 71%.(Original 67-2[signet]6[banner]). With fury, it’s 89%(7120-2) and with full adrenaline, it’s 106%! So I tested it out, sure enough, every 2 or 3 hundred blades, either the first hit or one of the last hits was non critical. I know I sound over-concerned about damage, but if someone could just give me a reason why this is happening, I would be happy, I don’t really care about it being fixed or anything, but why? Is it a trait bug, or one of the things that enhance critical chance isn’t showing up? Or something doesn’t stack with another? Thanks! Perhaps, 100% critical isn’t really 100 but something like 105?
(edited by Qoltera.3042)
I have 67% base critical chance, and with “Heightened Focus” trait and fury, I go up to 100% or 102%. Yet I still hit non criticals. I’ve fought with full adrenaline, and my character window with 85% crit chance on. But I still hit non criticals even while looking at the 85% and full adrenaline. Is this a bug of some sort?
Hi everyone,
I’m a little curious to what’s going on. I downloaded the patch, and then started to play. Thanks! EDIT: I retried it a few times with the banner(106%) and it seems to be all criticals, so the only real problem is my flat 100% and why it still non crits occasionally.
