Problem with fury is that rev has mediocre access to it.. Its no big deal in pve where a team stack fury for you, but in solo settings it will be quite problematic to keep up, and in pvp swapping every 10seconds wont be a optimal way if someone plan to do some combos with utility skills.
I agree, and that’s why Rune of Rage is so good on Revenant. It’s the best way to have access to Fury (even permanent if you also use Fierce Infusion).
I’m actually ok with this, since it makes room for some creative designs instead of the usual Scholar or Strength (or even Ogre).
Hope it will always be possible even after the elite.
I agree as well.
List of runes you can use to apply fury:
- Rune of the Citadel and get Power+Fury Duration and a chance to get fury for 15 seconds every 30 seconds as well as a chance to drop a bomb every 15 seconds.
-Rune of the Pack to get a Fury, Might, and Swiftness for 10 seconds every 20 seconds plus Swiftness duration for mobility!
- Rune of Evasion to get Ferocity + 3 seconds of fury, swiftness, and cripple on dodge roll (Really cool one imo)
-Rune of Rage. Probably the best for this and doesn’t need explanation.
-Rune of Altruism if you’re running a Support/DPS hybrid. Gives you healing + 10% boon duration and when you use a Heal skill, you give aoe Might and Fury every 10 seconds! You can have almost permanent Fury if you’re running this on your Revenant with Fierce Infusion and Incensed Response.
Edit: Also probably buffs Revenant life steal healing since it does give you increased healing power which could add to your survivability. Not sure how healing scales for Revenant though.
Lots of really cool options.

this can be only accomplished if you give skills a fixed distance or a fixed plane. Without that it’s impossible to know what point in the 3D space your mouse is over.
You have to fix a plane (like on ground target) or the distance. Even a skill with just a direction needs one of those 2 parameters, otherwise the game can’t be able to determine where you want your skill to go.That’s simply because your monitor (or the place your mouse is on) is 2D. There is a lack of informations you need to compensate by adding constraints.
EDIT: kitten you Narrrz outspeeding me
Yeah I was thinking that. They could give every ground target skill a set distance underwater. Closer rather than further as most combat underwater is generally done at around 200-600 range from my experience. Anyway, just a thought. I wouldn’t mind underwater combat if it wasn’t so limited.
I mean, I played Archeage for about a week and actually didn’t mind the underwater combat there because it didn’t change very much from above water.
There won’t be any underwater for the revenant this weekend.
When it’s ready™ Soon™
Aww dang. Well, it’s okay Roy. I forgive you. Guess I can’t jump into the lake next to Speldan or the waterfall next to Anz when running from zergs this weekend xD
:( underwater combat is one of my favorite features in gw2, sad to see it getting no love in the game anymore.
please please please make the skills fun well you finally getting around to making them.
if rev has boring/bland underwater skills imma be so sad
I’m hoping eventually they’ll find a way to make regular weapon skills work underwater and bring underwater skills above land.
I think AOEs underwater should be represented as 3d spheres, if possible. That way you can target specific areas in the water as opposed to just the ground.
Yeah d/d ele completely devastates even more than before now thanks to all arcane users running evasive arcana and the change to condition stacking. 14+ stacks of burning, with fire ring, drake’s breath, and fire aura. No thank you.
See the problem is not that Acrobatics got nerfed, Apharma. It’s more of the fact that everything else got buffed while Acrobatics didn’t get buffed enough. The fact that I have to give up Bountiful Theft to make my Withdraw 14s cd, don’t get 10% damage boost from Improv anymore, have to pick between vigor on heal skill or pain response, all while Mesmers, Eles, Guardians, Engies, and Rangers can CC the kitten out of me and kill me in less than 3 seconds flat. Sure, Hard to Catch and Don’t Stop are pretty nice but they don’t do much in the way of making up for hard damage and Boon Stripping Steal CC. I’ve done my absolute best to make S/D work in PVP and while I CAN defeat a lot of enemies, it’s a complete uphill battle. As someone else stated in this thread earlier, I literally have to be 2x as good as my enemy to beat them. Plus it takes FOREVER. Thief is a 1+ class now. You go in for a gank with D/P and run. That’s literally the most effective way of playing thief and it’s honestly not meant for S/D style of gameplay with Acro as it was essentially, our brawlery style set we had post specialization patch.
Not to take away from your point, but improv never gave a damage boost unless you were wielding pve type bundles (the ones that replace your main weapons). Holding a stolen item didn’t count.
I think we deserve a little more defense from the acro line and maybe a 15% damage boost on sword auto attack personally.
Strange, some people have said it does, others have said it doesn’t. Either way, regardless of that, S/D just doesn’t have the survivability in the current meta to deal enough significant damage to make it worth running. Not because Acrobatics got nerfed but because everything else got buffed. I think if anything, Sword does need a slight damage boost, maybe 5-10% and some sort of trait like gaining damage reduction when gaining vigor and/or remove a condition on a successful evade.
Rage is better. Revenant gets +10% crit rate and +7% damage from traits under fury, plus the normal 20% from the boon and 7% from the rune. 25 might is easier to achieve and mantain, expecially in pve and wvw, so you’re comparing a 5% with a 42% damage increase (factoring only 100% crit damage).
It’s math.Price doesn’t really matter, since Revenant is the first class that gets so much boost from fury.
Also in group play both are outshadowed by scholar runes.
First, trait is +30% crit rate (not +10%). (20% from Fury + 30% additional from GM trait). I’m not sure if did math or just did the napkin version and compared Fury/Ferocity against Might/Power only without other boons and total boon uptime.
I’d like it if there was an actual Rune alternative.
As confirmed by Roy, the trait gives 50% of the usual + 20%, so it’s 30% total (20+10). He also sait it may be buffed. Description is misleading
Yeah, I’m looking at buffing it because 10% crit for a GM trait is a bit weak. Might try making fury 100% better so it’d give 20% extra crit.
Revenants may get some access to swiftness.

Glad to hear some swiftness application is coming. If we can get something akin to Necro’s perma warhorn swiftness or Shout Rangers swiftness application, that would be a complete blessing. Reward the player for being able to reapply swiftness while in combat instead of just giving them automatic 25% movement speed.
Haha yeah. I remember fighting several condi Mesmers with S/D thief while trying desperately to make an S/D build that was good. Literally, all they had to do was just stand there and let their illusions do all the work for them. Makes me sad that the game rewards such brain dead playstyles.
See the problem is not that Acrobatics got nerfed, Apharma. It’s more of the fact that everything else got buffed while Acrobatics didn’t get buffed enough. I like how everyone’s complaining about having to use runes of traveler/speed on Revenant. Meanwhile, I have a stack of 6 Traveler runes waiting especially for my Revenant xD
Seriously guys, stop qq’ing about ooc mobility for Revenant. If the class turns out really strong, it would be too ridiculous to ask to be a powerhouse in combat and uncatchable out of combat or running from zergs. We can’t have it all guys.
I’m pretty sure they only last for a little while similar to Thief’s Skelk Venom or Necro’s Signet heal.
D/P for pvp right now, S/P is generally where you wanna go for PVE, imo. Skill 3 on S/P deals out tons of damage and cleaves a bunch of enemies if stacking and skill 5 on pistol lets you blind all enemies in your aoe which helps a lot in stacking sometimes. I, personally, like to run a venom share S/P build for Fractals and Dungeons. Skelk Venom, Skale Venom, and Basilisk Venom for venom skills and Shadowstep+Shadow Refuge for stun break and saving teammates. Short Bow secondary weapon.
I’m pretty hyped for Revenant especially after the Shiro reveal. I’ve been craving for a proper magically based swordfighter type of class for a long time and Guardian just was too… light-based. I’m glad they chose some evil characters for Revenant. I love the idea of calling on aggressive, evil powers and bending them to your will for the greater good!
S/D is sub par… you will not be competitive at high level…
And its not the nerf to feline grace like everyone would think…..
its actually the power creep that every other class has ..s/d theif did not get at all.
To be competitive, they need to improve s/d damage…. how im not sure… when every other class can do more than you from range while having perma protection, crazy invulnerability, great heals, almost as much vigor as you…. well something is wrong.
S/D thief got the short end of everything this patch… harder than any other class.
^This.
It’s not that Acrobatics got nerfed. On the contrary, Hard to Catch and Don’t Stop are pretty good traits. It’s just that it’s not enough compared to what everyone else got. I do think 2 Boons stripped on Larcenous Strike would be a very nice start but also maybe condition cleansed on successful dodge, protection procing on successful dodge, and a slight buff to sword auto attack speed would be great to bring S/D where it needs to be competitively. I mean, it sucks that you can’t even pick up Bountiful Theft anymore without putting your Withdraw on 18s cd.
I’ll probably do a bit of everything but mostly looking forward to Stronghold and WvW Roaming with Shiro
I think increases sword speed sounds nice. It’s kinda lame that Dagger auto attack kinda does more damage than sword auto attack to be honest. It’s so fast and crits so many times that your sigils are more likely to proc.
Mesmers have aoe, Necros have aoe, Warriors have aoe, Rangers have aoe, Guardians have aoe, Engineers have aoe, Eles have aoe, and even Ranger pets have some nasty aoe taunt now…. seriously. Howl with Wolf and get taunted for 2 seconds THEN feared for another 2 seconds… that seriously needs a fix.
Just voicing my frustrations at how kittened up the kitten hole us thieves are getting right now. I cant jump onto a single target without getting destroyed by aoe from every other class in the game.
I really, REALLY hope Staff helps aleviate this, if that is our elite spec weapon. Maybe give us some nasty aoe of our own cuz… cluster bomb and caltrops? Ha… yeah. Totally…
It is definitely still viable. It’s a little tough to make work but once you find the right setup, you can actually deal out lots of damage. Only problem is that it’s pretty difficult because of the power creep.
I disagree actually. Just because you don’t have to swap weapons doesn’t mean that you don’t need weapon swap. As I said, Thieves don’t have to swap weapons until it’s necessary. See that player running away after you backstabbed him, pull out your shortbow and finish him off at range. Similarly with Revenant, having the option for range is necessary considering that unlike Ele’s or Engineers, we don’t have kits or conjured weapons to give us the range we need. And that’s just talking about range.
Say now that you are getting bursted and happen to mainly use staff or are running a Sword/Axe condi set, you can now switch to an Off-hand sword set and block the incoming damage which you would not have been able to do beforehand because Revenant utilities don’t give you, once again, kits that grant you tons of options for defense such as blinds or blocks or invuln skills like the Ele.
You don’t HAVE to swap weapons like I said but you NEED weapon swap for certain situations because our utilities are so restricted.
See, the thing that these people who are against weapon swapping fail to understand is that you DON’T have to swap weapons. Think of Thief. You can really just stay in one weaponset as a Thief for the entire day without having to swap to a second weapon set. The second weapon set is mainly to give you variety in a fight. If you need to range, switch to hammer. If you need to burst, switch to swords. If you need clear some conditions and get away from your enemy, switch to staff.
It’s all about giving you options not turning you into every other class. The uniqueness of Revenant was always Legend Swapping. Adding weapon swap doesn’t take away anything because you still have a unique mechanic that no other class has.
There is hope for us all! HoT will finally make Fractal Weapons acquireable without relying on a near impossible drop rate. Furthermore, we can now get 1337mlg420 prestige gold Call of Duty skins for our Fractal Weapons XD Woo!
I agree it would have been cooler, but it would have made literally no sense as healing skill.
Actually it would. Think about Signet of Malice and Invigorating Precision on a thief. They heal a thief every time they attack. Also, the Sigil of Blood and Sigil of Leeching allow a player to damage and steal health from an enemy. I don’t see why a couple of enchanted floating swords couldn’t have the magical ability of stealing life from an enemy!
Well, I suspect that the bright green floating objects are more easily identifiable from a distance than the floating swords seen in the concept art. Could it have been jade swords instead daggers? I believe so and I think it’s still early enough that if people band together, we could probably get the skill renamed to “Enchanted Swords.”
Yeah it’s possible Jade Shards would be more recognizable, especially if a character is wearing that Spinal Blade backpiece. They could however still have it be Shiro’s swords and just glow with a cool green Jade-like aura
(edited by Rain.9213)
My Revenant is a Human male. He is a future possibility of my Thief stored within the Mists. Having spent many years fighting in the Mist Wars and searching for Fractal Weapons, he eventually gets lost within the Mists and learns to master manipulating Mist energies as well as communing with Legends of the Mists. Once he finds his Fractal Weapons, he manages to return back to Tyria only to find out that he himself isn’t real and only a manifestation of what could have happened had my Thief been lost in the Mists. Regardless, he decides to stay and fight the Elder Dragons after hearing about the destruction of the Pact.
Favored Weapons: Dual Swords/Staff
Legend: Channels Shiro Tagachi mainly as they have a mutual respect for each other’s sword skills but also a similar bloodlust and rage in battle.
My Revenant will most likely be my new main as I have always wanted a proper dual sword wielding class but Warrior swords weren’t that great and Mesmer is more about illusion rather than raw sword combat. Look below for a screenshot of what my Revenant will look like.
So Enchanted Daggers looks like a great skill. Pop it, cc, an enemy, Unrelenting Assault, get tons of health back and deal lots of damage. Perfect, I love it!
BUT!
Instead of giving us floating Jade shards…. why not give us Shiro’s swords floating behind us? xD Wouldn’t it be way cooler and way more fitting to have Shiro’s swords from the first game floating behind us and siphoning health just like how Shiro has his swords floating in some of his concept art? (look below) Anyway, just my thoughts. Wouldn’t be upset if it remains as Jade shards but I just think it would look so freakin awesome to be walking around with all those blades just ready to steal some hp!
The fact that this trait line art + the actual staff weapon have been added to the game suggests they’re pretty far along into developing this as the Thief Elite Spec. Course, there could be last minute changes done, who knows.
I haven’t switched classes, sure thief might be out of place in this current meta but it can still function. I play mainly d/p and s/d builds. I’m glad to be honest, less thieves running p/d cheese in WvW, and haven’t seen any heart seeker heroes in pvp either. The good thieves won’t drop their mains.
See, the people that are okay with these changes are the ones that don’t mind playing D/P. You know why? Cuz it’s the only viable build at the moment. Those of us who ran S/D and loved being an acrobatic swordsman are mainly the ones who have been affected by these changes. D/P was buffed being able to pick Panic Strike or Revealed Training if they want and Executioner in a single line while also being able to get Shadow Arts for survivability and Trickery without losing any burst.
Literally all my friends are running D/P. Every thief I know is running D/P. The only ones not running D/P are perplexity condi thieves but that kitten is as annoying and effective as it’s always been.
So don’t say only good thieves will keep playing because us S/D thieves are at a really frustrating point right now and while I don’t hate my Thief, I feel like I do neet to take a break from him until some changes have been made.
It will take you around 150 days if you run a 50 fractal everyday.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/3djsir/fractal_weapon_skin_math_redux_july_16_2015/
Yeah it’s a bout a 10% chance or so but that’s just for a skin to drop at all. You have to factor in the amount of skins there are which comes out to about a 0.5% you’ll get the skin you want. If only they made it that you didn’t get repeated skins though. Then your chances would at least be better.
I know the feelings. S/D Thief here.
I have tried running acrobatics in pvp with S/D and it is horrid. The power creep makes it so I die very quickly without being able to deal nearly the amount of damage the enemy can dish out on me. Not to mention since they moved Improvisation to Grandmaster along with Executioner, I now have to wait for an 18 second cooldown on Withdraw. Seriously. Panic Strike and Revealed Training for Master traits? I can’t really benefit from either of them as my sword already has immob and there’s no reason for an acrobatics S/D build to be stealthing a lot in combat.
I would say make Flanking Strike and all other evade skills basically a dodge roll in that it forces the game to cancel all other animations and prioritize Flanking Strike. I can’t count how many times I’ve been auto attacking, anticipate an incoming stun, hit flanking strike only for it to delay because of auto attack animation and me thus getting my kitten handed to me. It’s pretty bad. Also happens with Withdraw and Roll for Initiative which is really dumb considering these are skills we should be able to time properly to be rewarded. Well, how can you time them when your auto attack makes you have to wait like half a second for it to cast? Ridiculous.
I like the idea! Specifically the Mark for Death mechanic. That type of mechanic will work extra well with a rifle though. Not sure what kinda new mechanic Anet has in mind but if it’s at least Mark for Death, it might be pretty good.
Almost 2 years for me to drop the sword… So hope for the best.
Oh man. I’m almost at the 1 year mark myself. Somewhat comforting that I’m not the only one who has had this kinda bad luck though sorry to hear it took so long. Hope I don’t have to hit the 2 year mark.
I pretty much got my Staff on a random 31-40 run and it was my first skin, and it was what I wanted.
T_T Man, I wish I was that lucky! I have been in parties with complete newbies to Fractals who have had the Sword drop for them and boy, I almost laid down and cried hahaha
Many.. many many many MANY runs.. and I’ve yet to get the dagger..
Stay strong, brother. You are not alone in your fractal nightmare.
I am currently on a quest to get the Fractal Sword in time for my Revenant in HoT but by the gods is it a pain in the behind. I have a total of 10 Fractal Weapon skins so far except the bloody sword which is the only one I have ever wanted! I have gotten Mace 2x, Focus 3x, Scepter 2x, and Greatsword 2x in a total of about somewhere between 200-250 fractal runs which is incredibly frustrating. I mean, if we don’t get to choose which skin we want, they should at least not make it that you get the same skin more than once! sigh But aside from my frustration at getting screwed by RNGeesus and the poor system in place for acquiring these weapons….
How long did it take you guys to get the Fractal Weapon skin you truly wanted? Did you experience the same kind, similar, or greater frustration than me? Share your experience!
“Thief is better off with staff because Darth Maul. kbye”
You’re missing the point. As I explained in my opening post, Star Wars: The Old Republic’s version of a thief wields a staff and with great success. You get lots of cc’s, great mobility in the form of a long rush skill, stealth, and damage output. I’m comparing the two classes and why I think staff on thief can be pulled off just fine seeing as they share similarities.
A slow firing, hard hitting weapon would be interesting for sure. For a while, I actually thought they could even give axe to Thief and make it a sort of Bandit/Pirate raider type of class. Not that I would use something like that though, not a big fan of axe.
The S/S build is so kittening tight. WHY HAVEN’T THIEVES GOT SOMETHING LIKE THIS ANET? S/S is something the entirety of the thief community has wanted for FIVE YEARS. Are you so elitist Anet that you think you know better what we want than we do?
Honestly, with the release of Tempest and the bad to the straight up bizarre choices by the various dev teams, I want to know who is in charge over there at Anet. Who OK’d warhorn for eles? Who is pushing Stronghold as a game mode? Why is thief getting a rifle or staff? Where is this coming from?
I do not understand what is going on.
At the very least, make S/x (preferably sword/dagger) viable in sPVP. You guys give away S/S to revenant and make the trait lines constantly have the word “assassin” in it, but thieves get shafted.
This is the most disorientating development cycle of any game I’ve ever seen. Are there just not enough employees at Anet? Does Anet just have a terrible decision making system?
Anet, you guys already have us watching and waiting, why not just listen to your community and actually make a great game? You guys ask us for feedback and use basically none of it unless there’s something egregiously broken.
Am I a kitten and alone in feeling this way or not?
Oh yeah. The perfect dream Thief.
With no stealth, no steal mechanic, no backstab that deals upwards of 5k damage on crit, no insane Shadowstepping mobility in and out of combat, and of course locked into predetermined utilities that you can’t choose individually.
Yep. Sounds like what a Thief should have always been.
Yeah I know what you mean. I would appreciate a rifle on Thief because it would turn them into a hitman kinda character which would be awesome but it would have to be done with skill in mind so new players hoping to become Snipers actually have to invest time into learning how to play the class unlike those types of Rangers who never even switch weapons in a fight because all they know is Longbow pew pew.
Yeah it should work fine with the right build. I’d suggest running Mace/Sword + Sword/Axe though. Mace/Sword has some nice synergy for pulling someone into your Skill 2 Searing Fissure and smacking them with Skill 3 Echoing Eruption. Sword/Axe lets you keep chill up on them with Precision Strike and build Might plus apply bleeds and torment with Unrelenting Assault if using sigil of Earth and Mallyx trait line. Plus Axe will let you stay in melee range by porting you to enemies and applying torment.
As much as I’d rather they got rifles, I don’t think staves are a bad choice for thieves. It’s a two-handed melee option, which is something they’ve never had. It’s also a good opportunity to give another melee staff moveset. My only real issue with it is the overlap with rangers, who also get staves.
Ranger is probably going to get a more support/ranged oriented staff set while thieves would get more brawlery style similar to S/D Acrobatics set(or at least that’s the idea)
Rifle would be nice too, no doubt about that. However, the game is already plagued by Longbow rangers that don’t know how to play properly just running up to a ledge and spamming 1 and Rapid Fire. Thief could have the same problem if Rifle was given to them considering they also get stealth and shadowstepping. Can you imagine how annoying it would be fighting a thief who pew pews from a distance and as you run up to him, stealths away. Relocates, then repeats. There would not be much skill involved with that sort of mechanic especially in group fights were they could just take advantage of their slipperyness and the fact that you’ll probably focus other targets first while Sniper thief hangs back and casually nabs kills.
The only reason Staff on Ele and Longbow on Ranger is manageable is because they don’t have the survivability of a thief that can hide away. I mean, with the change to class mechanics with Elite Specs, Anet could make Rifle a skill based weapon that doesn’t have synergy with stealth or maybe can’t attack from stealth until your stealth buff runs out but it will likely just become another Longbow Ranger situation except with more survivability and less skill gap to use.
I was looking at some of the other Staff threads and saw some people not keen on the idea. Well to everyone disagreeing with Staff on Thief and saying that it doesn’t make sense. Think back to one of the most deadliest Assassins in STAR WARS.
Darth Maul.
He was a Sith Assassin who used Star Wars’ version of a lightsaber staff. People call it a Double Bladed Lightsaber but it’s really a Lightsaber Staff or just Saberstaff.
Now imagine your thief fighting like Darth Maul from Star Wars Episode 1. Awesome, right?
Furthermore, Sith Assassins in Star Wars: The Old Republic use Saberstaffs and that class has a lot of similarities to Thief in GW such as stealth, porting, backstabs, and stuns. I can see it working absolutely amazingly in GW2!
So long as they give us some good mobility, blocks, stuns, evades, and damage output; staff on thief can be arguably one of the best, if not the best, elite specializations.
Wait is this supposed to be a joke? I was actually excited to get this Specialization :c
The most success that I’ve had with S/D after the patch was running a D/P + S/D Shadow Arts build, which works really well but again… I’m running D/P to make it work. Kinda makes me sad that sword is only good when the enemy is below 50% and even then, D/P works just as good, if not better.
The fact is most of what I’m seeing is anecdotal evidence of ‘Rampage OP’. Such things being said ‘i see it everywhere it’s OP’, ‘its an auto win it’s OP’, ‘warriors suck if they don’t use it’, etc etc. Not really anything concrete at least from a numbers side. The only thing I’d actually consider is what op said about the synergy between peak performance and rampage. Seems like if there were anything that need be nerfed it’d be peak performance synergy with rampage. I remember seeing someone mention making it a stance or something, maybe this would help?
All that being said it’s hard to say without some pretty numbers and a solid comparison to whatever is ‘balanced’ that is: Is rampage meta/OP because it’s a cheesy face-roll and people can’t play warrior without it and because user doesn’t have required skill to play warrior without a cheese button. Or is it because it’s truly overpowered with peak performance via comparison with other similar builds and numbers.
Similar case I’d argue mesmer PU is overpowered now because of the fancy burst, but I’ve come to see that really it’s just my failure to recognize play-style and damage/burst mitigation for me at least. I say this due to I can actually avoid mesmer burst very easily now and can actually kill one if I do my rotations well.
The skill is currently the only chance you get as a warrior in the current state of the game in PvP when facing decent opponents that are not completely bad.
It has a SHORT duration – any decent opponent will avoid you for that duration of time.
I’ve had no problem keeping rampage warriors at bay on the other classes i play in pvp ( guardian, thief and ranger).
It’s just that the counterplay with rampage is different then what more players are used to : Warrior pops rampage? Wait it out and do not engage – kite and avoid him for 20 seconds then push in and fight.
edit: this is what I’m getting at as well^
In a 1v1 sure. I can ocassionally outsmart a Rampage warrior but if it’s a good player and it’s a close fight, dude pops rampage after landing a hard hit and gg. Plus if you’re running a hammer set, you can just bait out an enemy’s stun break or stab then pop Rampage when you know it’s on cooldown and laugh as you face roll them do death.
Kicker’s got a good point. I really hope a dev sees this are there are some good ideas popping up in here.
^Lmfao xD The TM…
Yeah it’s way too strong and almost automatically wins you a fight.
- all abilitys that provide “evade” should start with cancel action when button is pressed. (really inportant! many times you are unable to evade things couse you are out of endurance but in mid animation so skill have to finish casting to start lets say flanking strike)
This really needs to happen. I can’t count how many times I try to time a sword evade only for it to get delayed.
KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOYYYYYYYYYYY SSTTTTTTTTTTTTOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKIIIIIIIIINNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!
or
Mad King Oswald Thorn
YES! The Mad King would be a freaking awesome addition xD I actually would have preferred him over Mallyx for condi line.
Since the last beta stopped and the POI a day afterwards with Shiro.
I just cant play any other classes, they all seem boring to me.(except for the Revenant of course)
Any1 else has this feeling?
I’m in exactly the same situation. Luckily, I’m preoccupying myself by improving on all my builds a little and setting them up to transition into the new specializations by simply replacing a defense or offensive trait line they currently have to their new specialization trait line when the time comes without removing armor or having to come up with something completely new.
Perhaps then some Protection procing on successful evades similar to Ranger? Would add more incentive to successfully time your dodges.
How would you guys feel about the Swindler’s Equilibrium giving a buff to sword damage? I mean, considering our survivability got slightly nerfed in acrobatics line and sword sorely lacks the burst damage of a dagger/pistol set, a buff to sword damage would be nice to bring it up to par. I mean, sword still works but winning a fight with it especially in pvp is an uphill battle and d/p just works far better for taking out enemies quickly and efficiently without sacrificing burst or damage by running Shadow Arts instead of Acrobatics while Sword for Shadow Arts is just not that great considering you have to hide in stealth for it to work properly allowing your enemy to recover while you lack the damage necessary to pop back out and immediately punish them.
