Would Legendary weapons/armors having personalized stats between 3-4 stats break the game balance?
I’m personally a big fan of theory crafting my own builds, which my pocket regrets so much….
So, do you guys think having legendaries with personalized stats be bad?
Please Arenanet, consider putting the Gift of Battle elsewhere. [..] At this point I am no longer enjoying my time playing, specifically because WvW is not fun.
As an almost exclusive WvW player, I find it ironic and disgusting that PvE players want to avoid WvW. As if it wasn’t bad enough that WvW players have to do loads of PvE to get Legendary weapons, we also now have no access to the new Legendary Armour.
I’m disgusted that you want to shove our gamemode off the table entirely.
The solution to the problem you have is to make WvW fun, not to move the Gift of Battle elsewhere.
Indeed. The entitlement of some Pve players is abhorrent. 8 hours or less of wvw vs the amount of hours it takes to get 100% map completion. No contest.
Well, most of the PvE players are here for the fashion wars. WvW is fun, but they don’t even care about doing a little research on witch server they are or what uptimes they have…. Let’s say someone’s on SBI where most of the players get online at NA peak hours, and the said PvE player starts saying “Oh no! WvW is dead! there are no people here! This game mode is boring!! blah blah blah~”
The most probable cause? He’s playing on a SEA timezone like Dragonbrand or any other non NA peak hours.
2d most probable cause? He’s roaming alone on a T1-T2 server -.-; (Well, not like it matters too much since the glicko system seems to be making havoc with the matchmakings anyways)
What I find weird about Season 1 skins is that we still have content from that event on the fractals, it shouldn’t be illogical for some stuff to be dropped there or the aetherblade path
I was wondering, is there any other way to get season 1 skins and other molten stuff?
I would really love to get my hands on Scarlet’s Kiss skin without having to pay the price of a legendary weapon on the TP.
It took them a really long time to get even these 3 skins out. Can you imagine how much longer it would take to get out at least 6 more skins (depending on whether these 3 are used for any specific class or not).
You mean 24 more skins.
There are 3 armor types and 4 races so that’s 12 skins for legendary armor right now.
If they had to make it per profession then…
(9 professions) x (4 races) = 36 skins
Here’s a Dev post about connectivity: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Problems-with-logging-in-1/first#post6564632
Good luck.
Thanks, I’m checking this out
I believe the problem I’m experiencing is explained on the title. But I wanted to see if I’m the only one suffering from it (specially from 1 or 2 days ago).
Now, I’m pretty sure it’s not my connection because a few times I was on Teamspeak and we were all talking normally when the game disconnected me.
But the thing is, if I’m the only one suffering form it, then the cause of my disconnections has to be related to something else, and if that cause is on my side I would like to be sure it is.
I guess nobody cares anymore…
YES, IT IS FRUSTRATING TO DO EVERYTHING AT LEAST TWICE!!
And the disconnect happens only at the end of a LONG story.wow.. i even payed for living season 2 to experience this .
Can we please have an official reply?
You absolutely can, and it is very simple to obtain: file a support ticket via the “Submit a Ticket” link at https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us
You will receive an immediate automated confirmation that your issue has been seen by the system, and then a direct, personal response from anet support within 72 hours.
The forums are mostly for player to player support, where we might be able to help you out faster because we know some of the common causes.
PS: the reason I recommend https://www.pingplotter.com/fix-your-network to people here is because that is basically a longer, friendlier version of the first debugging step the support team will ask you for in that ticket, so it saves time to start there, but … if you want anet to tell you that, rather than another player, just file the ticket.
Actually, it seems like it’s about timing. The last 2 days or so we started having some connectivity issues and they were trying to find the cause of it. So it’s kind of a bad luck situation since the problem is fairly new.
After this post I feel like the WvW forum is like that middle child you don’t spoil like the small one but you don’t also give the responsibilities as the big one, thus making it become a bit of an outcast who’s always ranting about life.
Jokes aside, I’m having fun watching all the WvW drama lately, it’s kind of entertaining specially since I’m pretty new on the game mode :P
What if 2 servers are outnumbered, they are immune to each other attacks but they can hit the other server? I personally don’t like this idea but it is a “solution” I guess? It’s probably not something that’s going to be implemented ever but I’m hoping it ignites another alternative from someone who’s more creative.
Season 2 isn’t free as season 3 isn’t either. People just got it for free thanks to the log in event to publish it.
PvP has an ascended vendor…. They don’t even need it….
Most of the WvW builds nowadays are the most expensive sets like Trailblazer, Minstrel, Commander…. But since they forgot about us, it feels like it’s a big no-no for WvW players to want those.
Is there any chance WvW could get siege skins, castle-keep-tower-camp decorations?
Either from the gem store or by crafting, It would be nice to take something and make it holiday themed or something.
Also this might be something a lot of people might hate, but wouldn’t it be fun if in some holidays a world boss or something appeared randomly in WvW wrecking walls and stuff?
That’s not the matter here. This is a question of why they gate some LW3 zones (not BFF) on a character basis.
Well, clearly if the gate to zone access is completing the story, then each character must complete the story. Just because you complete the story on one character doesn’t mean that each character on your account has the story completed.
That’s why I asked why they are story gated at all.
Actually, I was asking if anyone else found it weird for the map to be gated once you cleared the story with 1 character, to all the others. Not sure how anyone shifted the idea to simply opening the zones for people who didn’t get season 3.
I was trying to get equipment for this, and i tested it with kitten nomad and other random stuff in (still need the full set).
But from I can tell:
1_PVE: In big fights like the jade constructs from bloodstone fen, you can tank the bosses, keep the sanctuary and shields up, heal up allies, all that doing 1k dps which might sound like garbage, but for every 2 or 3 serkers you keep alive they don’t need to waste time using the wp and traveling back and you have a higher overall dps on the squad.
2_WvW: Also tried it in here with the same build, aegis spaming, healing, barriers everwhere, cleansing stuff, being immortal, etc. The same logic might apply in terms of the squad dps.
Basically, a fully tanky healing build for me is most likely the correct utilization of utilities to keep entire groups alive and uninterrupted. But the bad thing about this is that probably no one will notice your effort.
Is there any chance that we could use the continue coins just by double clicking on them when we have to use them on Moto?
Mostly because sometimes when you lose all your lives, instead of being on the pole it kinda glitches and you end up far from Moto, making the user unable to talk to him to continue…. That costed me a tribulation run that I had to redo.
I was wondering, shouldn’t the portal for places like Lake Doric be accessible for everyone who cleared the story at least once with a character instead of having to go through the story every time?
I mean, the story is great, but still…. It might be quite handy.
I know there are scrolls to transport you there but am I the only one that finds that kinda weird?
So… an alternate indie game for us to play outside of the game?
Arenanet announced via Twitter this morning that a snowstorm knocked out power and there running behind. It’s on massivelyop.com. Guess all those people who skipped work or school should have checked Seattle’s weather report first.
Oh god… Jormag is aware!!~

I’ve always been against the idea of fixed “prefixes” — we should be able to craft any combination of primary/secondary+secondary (3-stat prefixes) in core and any combination of prime+prime/second+second (4-stat prefixes) in HoT, by combining the appropriate ingredients. Then we’d only have to memorize the stat|ingredient combination rather than an arbitrary set of names linked to an arbitrary set of stat combinations, with an arbitrary set of sources.
That would actually be amazing but sounds like a looot of work.
I was wondering about some attribute combinations found on the game wiki
Barbarian (found only in PVP): Power – Precision – Vitality
Forsaken (Found on specific weapons only): Power – Toughness – Healing
Apostate (Found on specific weapons only): Condition – Toughness – Healing
This seem like a really interesting combination of stats that seem to have never seen the light of day on the normal PVE sets and I was asking myself if they would ever be implemented.
For example, [Forsaken] seem to be an amazing combination for a self sustaining power reaper, with the power also increasing thanks to the toughness in death magic and the healing that provides with blood magic.
if not human what other race is good for a necromancer
Race doesn’t really change anything. The racial skills are not even worth it, so pick anything you like.
I don’t think you choose 1 weapon on GW2, it’s always a change depending on the situation. And… Never pick a human, they are all gonna die (?????)????*?
How do you guys think raiding on guild wars 2 is at this point compared to other mmos in terms of difficulty and fun?
I’ve seen a lot of comparisons with other games, but never raid encounter comparisons, and was simply curious about it.
I guess it shouldn’t be a lot of work if we could simply use the Guild Hall decorations on the home instance so they do not have to create a new land plot for every character or account. It would be nice to have a new piece of land for the account solely for the housing but that might be a lot more complex than simply allowing GH items on the home instance.
I would. I know WoodenPotatoes would, too; hell, he’s probably organized most of what such a book would have.
Yeah but WP doesn’t count, he has some sort of obsessive compulsive issue with the lore xD
I was wondering, would people buy something like book with character designs, maps, lore, artwork from guild wars made like the “Hyrule Historia” from The Legend of Zelda if Arenanet ever released something like that??
I was playing a bit of WvW and made me remember a really old game called Ragnarok Online.
If anyone ever played it, there was something called War of Emperium, it was an event where a lot of people fought over a castle and conquered it pretty much like WvW but with only 1 castle.
There were some sort of masteries related to the guardian NPCs and stuff, pretty much like in GW2.
And since it was a weekly event, the guild who conquered that castle had access to a special chest and a special dungeon for the week.
The rewards on the chest where tied to the crafting of 1 legendary equipment that took like a year to craft and was some sort of goal to equip our guild master to look cooler.
Is this kind of concept too far fetched to the future of WvW in GW2?
Try bidding the item for like 90% of the price for a second before cancelling, if the bots falls for it, buy all of the loot and make them lose money.
If that bot has some sort of fail safe against it well, i guess reporting and waiting is the only solution.
I just found an interesting video of the economy of MMOs and the hyperinflation issue https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sumZLwFXJqE
It kinda came to my mind that human/norn/asuran males never had chest hair. It’s nothing really hat important, but I thought it was funny that no one ever mentioned it before.
People were grinding long before HoT: Fractals, Silverwastes trains, Events in 1 specific map.
HoT just gave the senseless grinding a backstory or at least a reason for it with little bits of lore.
There should be just a distinct noticeable icon for ur special action button popping up in ur middle of the screen. I just use that, no need to even look for skull above my head
Or at least a noticeable sound…
I was wondering, wouldn’t it be better if the poison skull on players head be blue, black or some other color we could notice more easily with all the green background?
I know there’s a message on the chat-box but it might help a lot more to have a more clear view of the skull
I was wondering if the game allows for the guild chat to be usable outside the game on a website or app for the future, or if the system is built in a way that it’s impossible to develop something like that.
As an example, it would be the chat system on Skyforge (without the lag, crash, and disconnects that game has, nor the convoluted stuff they put in their UI… But that’s not the topic so ignore me please -.-)
Thanks for the interesting feedback and giving actual facts instead of simply raging.
Oooh it’s another “I want these things but I’m not willing to pay that much for them” -thread.
No. You can pay your subscription now if you want too and see how much you can get for it.
Lol, not realy. I just head the news on the changes for Black desert online and I thought. Hey!~ how would GW2 players react if Anet suddenly decided to do the same but WITHOUT the gameplay changing features.
Let’s call it a socal experiment. It’s quite funny really ^-^
For me, there is no middle ground. The second they add a subscription plan is when I hit the uninstall button on my desktop.
I am more than willing to spend cash on gems every now and then, but any subscription plan that offers benefits like you describe will turn me and a bunch of other people away.
Well, you’ve gotta admit that this type of reaction is interesting
(I’m not talking about good nor bad, just interesting)
Yea, I pretty much posted this, because I was interested on how could possibly the community react if this were to happen. I’m personally not with or against this type of practices as long as it doesn’t affect the game itself.
I find it quite amusing that there’s no middle ground on this subjects when you mention the word “subscription”. But I guess i could be an interesting social experiment to know what does and doesn’t want the usual playerbase on a simple forum post.
How about making a subscription based option ONLY for convenience for a more stable income to Anet WITHOUT affecting the economy or the gameplay?
For example:
-availability of free hair stylists
-no WP charge (it’s only a few coins anyways, don’t think it will affect the economy)
-no transmutation charged required for the wardrobe
-unlocked COMMON outfits only while you are subscribed (turning them off while the sub ends, unless you bought them)
-unlocked COMMON minis and dyes for the sub duration
-portable bank, or crafting station (1 or 2 weeks)
Stuff like that, which doesn’t really upset the economy nor anything and gives a stable income to the devs for people paying the ultimate convenience option. (And for that reason alone I didn’t touch subjects like the tax at the market because that would affect the economy, specially since everyone’s sensitive to the latest decision from BDO publishers, lol)

I disagree. I rather ANet put a crossbow skin for rifle.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to be a skin for a handgun? I mean, with the usual availability to dual-wield crossbows and stuff.
Ellie’s o fire xD
Please don’t add this. It makes any half-decent game seem extremely lame.
It’s wardrobe wars. Why would this look “extremely lame” in such game?
From what I’ve learned in this game ( never was an issue in any other game I’ve played) some people just like to dictate to others how they should dress their own personal characters which really makes no sense at all whatsoever that they would be in some one elses business like that, but hey that’s just how some people are I guess. I’m so glad it’s not like that in real life, I wear whatever the heck I want in real life and no one tells me anything.
Actually, I believe what he was trying to say is that usually a lot of MMOs are trying to sexualize men or women to attract a broader audience, so he probably felt that GW2 didn’t do that because the game had more quality and didn’t need those type of schemes to get people to play it.
Now, it’s a matter of preference, but I honestly believe that’s what he tried to do.
As for me, as I said before… Swimsuits in GW2 give me nightmares of the diving google and me falling to my death (but that’s solely on my bad jumping skills) :P
Sometimes I wonder if some gravestones on GW2 have the nicknames of people who worked at Anet and they made a memorial for those guys… It would be great and kinda funny for them I guess
Um.. unless the set comes with the infamous DIVER GOOGLES, which I never seem to be able to use correctly since I always end up splatting my guts on the floor….
The api uses JSON returns for everything I believe, so starting there wouldnt hurt. That way you’d know how AS would handle the returns.
Thanks a lot, I’ll look it up!
Hi there, lately I was getting interested in implementing some of my knowledge of java and do something productive with eclipse. But it feels like it’s a pain in the kitten to use that language so I just downloaded Android Studio and start from zero.
The thing is, I only developed stuff for µC using C / C++ in a more hardware oriented area.
Is there a recommended documentation I should start reading to begin doing simple apps on android studio?
Think of me as a low-level language programmer and have mercy on my lack of knowledge of the high-level language world :P
Thanks for any answers provided
Is there a way to unlearn or to make a crafting ability not to be shown on the character selection screen? Sometimes I have alternative toons with lvl 1 crafting and It would e nice to be able to see the level or to simply unlearn it so I don’t have to be remembering which one has the maxed out crafting level.
It’s not a game changing thing but just a simple thing I was wondering if someone else was bothered by it.
