It’s sad that people think SAB will save this game. At the point people want SAB, their mind is already shifting to: “I want to play a different game”
Boy, this legendary thing really caught on fire eh?
Or was this intentional…
I feel like there is always something. In my personal opinion, I feel the community is very emotional right now (actually, not just right now). I just sorta gaze past the negativity.
I trust that sooner or later A-net will finally get what they need to do. I don’t believe in “too late.” So I will be sticking around until that happens.

Please don’t tell me they just put new items in the Gem store – Dear God ive known Sociopaths with less flagrant disregard for reasonable behaviour.
There should be Razzies for Gaming , if Mo really thinks this is a full xpac he is the equivalent of Adam Sandler.
Some of the streamer reactions are on point – WP and Brasil in particular, kitten Bogotter not so much. When people like that sound sour you need to stop being so defensive and actually work yo butt off.
Today they “only” added the glider. Watch them add a full set of weapon skins nobody wants because they are ugly and in no way to related to whats going on in the game (mostly because there is NOTHING going on in the game) in about a week or two. that is the level of sensibility i expect from this company from this PR stunt onwards.

In which I asked people not to take them to task for this Tuesday’s likely glider and gave reasons why not.
There are plenty of valid reasons to be upset with this announcement and with the (so far) lack of dev followup. The bubble glider isn’t one of them, as far as I’m concerned.
Sweetheart you arnt the one who gets to decide what is valid, what is not and consequently take someone to task for it – like you have just done with me – everyone has a right here to question Anet within the forum – you do not have a right to call me out for my differing opinion.
Period.
He/She did say “as far as I’m concerned,” to be fair.
Me too but it’s a nice addition to the world’s moisture rating. I wish it popped with a splash when you landed though and could be dyed yellow.
Let me clarify this…you want to be surrounded in a yellow liquid? xD
Yes.
Ok.
Very poor video, he total misses the points why people are upset, and he is pulling numbers out of his kitten , he even says that he doesn’t have figures.
Agreed. Actually wanted to dislike the video, but apparently he hid behind a safe wall.
Actually I think he made a valid point. Anet knows how many players by percentage have even 1 legendary. They know how many have 2.
If they create 16 legendary journeys, what they’re doing is creating content that most people will never do. It’s not really like a dynamic event or even a dungeon or fractal. It’s a long term goal that many people either can’t reach or can’t be bothered going for.
Saying that he doesn’t have numbers is quite irrelevant because Anet does have those numbers and they made the decision.
Maybe they should have made the journey more of a journey and less of a
material / gold grind .. since that was what a lot people expected i think.
So yeah .. they wanted to do quests instead of pay 1000g or whatever, but
what they got is do the quests and pay still 999g .. lolDid you do some of the collections for the elite spec ascended weapons? Man, I hoped the precursor journeys would have been like them. I have completed 6 out of 9 and enjoyed them a lot.
The problem with legendary weapons started with them a) being tradeable and b) them requiring an also tradeable precursor, being an extremely rare drop. To outweigh the pain of acquiring one they decided then to do an overly complex, time and material consuming alternative way of getting a precursor to “keep the effort high”. I don’t like that “economical balance” reasoning at all. Why did they need to make such complex collections, which turn out to be expensive to implement and unnecessarily error prone?
I only did the collections i could finished without having to enter HoT areas, so
that was mostly something for my Dragonhunter that i finished on my Warrior
and yay .. it was soulbound.I liked it that Legendarys were tradeable since i dislike dungeons and PvP and
so mostly prefered to farm the gold and buy the legendary. That was one of
the reason i liked this game .. you were not forced to play contend you disliked
and could still get most stuff. So one of many reasons i left was, i have 8000 Gold and 10.000 gems or whatever
and there is nothing to buy .. no legendarys .. no Armor Sets in the gemstore.Oh yeah .. and armor sets in the gem store were of course also a problem, right ?
Thats why now we only get outfits .. and maybe 1 armorset ingame per year,
great stuff.
Can I have your stuff?
I don’t have any. I’m a dedicated PvX’er. So I just do whatever I feel is the most fun at the time
Me too but it’s a nice addition to the world’s moisture rating. I wish it popped with a splash when you landed though and could be dyed yellow.
Let me clarify this…you want to be surrounded in a yellow liquid? xD
Just one? kitten …
If I had to pick JUST one…it’d be the diverse playable options that professions provide. I feel like there are a thousand different ways to play.
For me, personally, I use the glyph over HealingSpring due to its speed. I have plenty of other means to apply regeneration, and two means to create a water-field. However, when I need to burst-heal a close-to-dead ally from, say 25% to full as quickly as possible — I need the glyph (with about 900 healingpower and a 50% to 62.5% increased outgoing healing to allies, it heals nearby allies for around 10k to 13k). Also, receiving the full benefits from the glyph doesn’t require as much standing-in-place.
That is not to say HealingSpring is a poor choice, though. If you get more use out of it, then power to you.

It would in a perfect world. But people more often solve the sub-optimal problem with kicks, rather than advice.
Or if “advice” is given the delivery needs work. xD
Haha, true, true. I find it interesting that when I see people trying to “convince” or “improve” someone of something they need to do, the first thing they spout is an insult. Because calling one a scrub/noob/casual/kittenty-player/kitten -pug/failure is sure to make them listen to your advice. :P
that was so funny. Very well done.. hey does p/p with staff work for daredevil?
This is what I use. I think it works well. I use p/p for unload in teamfights, bodyshot to prep for fistfury, and p/p5 to provide extra stealth when using blinding powder. The staff is used when I go in with melee after a fist fury, or when I need to cleave.
We got what we where sold. They where not included in HoT at launch, that is what we paid for. We where told they would be added after. After is a long time. Sure it would have been nice if they had been added in a timely fashion, but we were never given a time frame.
No, we didn’t lol..
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/hot-new-legendary-weapons/“we will be releasing new legendary weapons in small groups at regular intervals until the full set of sixteen has been added to the game.”
Indefinitelly on hold (which is pretty much a suggarcoated cancelation) after the short bow release is in NO WAY a “small groups at regular intervals until the full set of sixteen has been added to the game.”
At the same time – we were promised fractal leaderbords – which were canceled.
Some of the guild features, like guild anthem, was supposed to be ingame at the launch – did it come with HoT? No. Furthermore, they explained that they are not even working on those features now.
Besides that, there was a talk about bark removing masteries and masteries regarding gliding like diving downwards ect; Which also got removed.
There’s other forgotten content that it simply disappeared.
So did we really get all of the promoted features? ABSOLUTELLY NOT.You keep clutching to that. There is no time frame there, not a one. Regular intervals also is no given time frame. The could wait a year after the SB, then add 3 wait a bit add another one. That would still be a regular interval. As it would be repeating the same pattern. Peoples comprehension of what they are reading is appalling. They where never included with HoT AT LAUNCH. You did not pay for them. ANet said the would be added after, after means they are not included with HoT, only that you would need HoT to get them.
I could explain this to people all day but I can not understand it to you.
You can explain it all day, and you’d still be wrong. Legendary weapons were announced as a main feature of HoT when it was first announced. Legendary weapons were advertised as part of HoT. And legendary weapons are still on the HoT advertisement page mentioning all 16.
Those points you mentioned are irrelevant when pitted against his reasoning. The reason the legendary weapons were included in HoT advertising, is because one still needs HoT to obtain future legendary weapons. They are “apart” of HoT, in that sense, but that doesn’t mean they were ment to be available now.

Just wait. 5g says that someone is:
1) Going to read/half-read your post.
2) Be unable to provide a supported counter-argument.
3) Label you as a hopeless “white-knight,” and therefore invalidate all your points through Ad Hominem.
I’ve never seen any myself.
I wish you luck in your quest to find some, though.
Hey everyone,
I wanted to just chime in here and make some things clear as they may not be clear.
The “Year of The Ascension” achievement do not reset/clear between seasons. Whatever progress you have carries over to the next season.
If you can’t/don’t get the legendary if a specific year then there will be another way to obtain that specific backpack. I can’t go into any details on that, but you WILL be able to get previous years backpacks in some way.
We also understand the frustration of players and matchmaking this season and will do our best to make some changes for Season 3.
Thank you for clarifying. Give my condolences to the people in charge of writing the matchmaking algorithms. They must be under a lot of stress trying to get this up-to-par.
There is at least no reason why there is not a personal DPS meter,it would benefit casual players as much as the elitist to find optimal skill rotations on there own rather than always read some math guides that you cant test on your own..
It would in a perfect world. But people more often solve the sub-optimal problem with kicks, rather than advice.
A DPS meter would be awesome!
……..
If people weren’t such filthy, single-minded, impatient, loathing, pricks. :\
Personally, I’d be for it. If I saw someone in a DPS role outputting poorly, I’d try to help them out and figure out ways they could improve. But from what I understand, I am in the minority. For most, it would boil down to “lol, U DPS sux scrub L2P” — ‘kick’
Yup, I’m actually done with this season. I’m not touching it again. I don’t care if it makes it so I can’t get the backpiece. I’ve been sitting on the last tier of saphire for the past ~35 games. And almost everyone has been a loss. It’s statistically impossible that this is happening by some random chance. Their algorithm is trash and they should be ashamed. I won’t be going back in PvP for quite some time, and I have little motivation after this to log in period.
Not impossible; just improbable. The notion that it is statistically impossible is known as The Gambler’s Fallacy.
After today’s news from Mike, has anyone changed their mind about pre-ordering the next expansion when they are not delivering on what they promised?
Never in a thousand years unless it’s 100% done and i decide it’s worth the price they’re asking for it… If i’m still playing at all that is.
If their current product model continues, when the next expansion is released, HoT will become free.
I appreciate the open communication regarding this. Its a nice change of pace compared to what we have gotten used to.
Exactly. This is a big bummer, but at least it’s an informed big bummer.
I have this same problem.
Now, just to state the positive here:
1. We are getting the short bow very soon!
2. LW S3 and beyond will be developed faster, better, and maybe release sooner!
3. April update confirmed still coming, and with actual new content, not just “balance”
4. It said indefinitely postponed. Not great, I know, but it doesn’t say canceled or deleted.
Thank you.
On the topic of point 4:
I’m still confused about the use of “indefinitely” and “postponed” together. Does that mean canceled? Or does that just mean delayed until they feel they can back to it later?
THIS GAME IS NOT ABOUT LEGENDARIES kitten .
Wake up. Content is more important than shooting mobs with flowers, kittenes or other weird things. You have lots of legendaries, other ones can wait. Living Story vol 3 Please! :*
Malyck! :* Rata Novus :*
People are croggy that what they paid for wasn’t delivered in full. They feel betrayed by that. Personally, I don’t mind that much. I trust A-net to do what they can do with what they have. But I also understand those who are upset.
Almost certainly. For all its flaws, I love this game lots. Expanding this experience is a wish-come-true.
By suspending legendary weapons “indefinitely,” does that mean they will never come? Or just not come for a very long time (like close to or over a year?)
To be fair, even though stat swapping on legendaries is far easier, acquiring them is not. It’s a matter of where the bulk of workload is (upfront vs inback). At the end of the day, it’s a matter of what your habbits are, and what you are willing to do.
So, clearly we have an issue with matchmaking. Clearly people want the issue resolved.
What is not clear is how that is to be done? Just saying “remove MMR” doesn’t cut it, because there needs to be something to fill that shoe — otherwise matchmaking would be pure chaos.
So, my question is:
How do you propose A-net should build their matchmaking system?
uhmm isn’t the div system a replacement? .. you win you move up , you lose you don’t. pretty simple.
Wouldn’t that be akin to a delayed reward track? Considering it is not degradable.
Make teams and matches both solely on tier and pips….
This seems so simple and problem-less that I can’t help but feel there is a problem somewhere, haha.
Can anyone see anything that could go wrong with this?
Edit: I suppose one thing could be increased queue times. Maybe.

This is my argument. It’s not like any other requirement for anything else in the game, because raids DO take far far more effort than anything else in the game. And if you don’t enjoy them, then Anet is requiring you to not enjoy the game.
And yet I don’t enjoy them….ankitten ot required to do them.
You are not required to do them….unless you want legendary armor. This is the truth as we know it so far. There are people working on their legendary sets right now…I happen not to be one of them.
You don’t have to agree with I’m saying, but it doesn’t make it any less valid.
I’m working on it right now and I’m forced to “play” or “visit” the new PvE maps EVERY DAY. The raid part of the legendary armor seems to be the easier part. LOL.
But you aren’t forced to be working on them.

Holy kitten. What have I done? lool
Eh don’t feel bad, this is just the state that the game has degenerated to. ANET built a community up that was used to faceroll easy content and now that they put interesting rewards behind content that may require a tiny bit of time investment or skill, they’re up in arms. They’ll nerf it though or provide an alternate, long as heck material Timegated route though. That I have no doubt.
I am getting sick of the attitude that all raids take is a little bit of effort and that if someone can’t beat a raid, it just means that they are unwilling to put in effort.
I have been practicing since the raid came out, and I haven’t beaten VG yet, but I hope to one day. But please don’t tell me that it only takes a tiny bit of time investment or skill because I’ve put in more than that.
Then again, Dark Souls taught me that there isn’t anything that a gamer won’t call easy.
Always glad to meet a fellow souls player. Love those games, can’t wait for the new one.
Anyway, I wish more players were like you, most I meet just want to be carried or wait until a clear path to victory comes out they can just follow to obtain their rewards in this game. So hats off to ya, you are investing some time and skill in wanting to learn the mechanics. Most don’t and that’s who I’m referring to.
Another souls player here and waiting for the new one:)
It’d be nice if I could practice the raids without getting called a noob and kicked out of the party. I can see why people lie about their gear or skill level just to get in.
I’m not sure what groups you are joining, but it may be beneficial to form your own with that “we’re all coolzy here” attitude. That is what I do. Sure it takes about 10-18 more minutes, but it’s better than slowing other people’s standards or placing yourself under stressful conditions. The process can be quickened by joining an active, like-minded guild.
Choices have consequences.
Maybe someday they’ll just hand things out for just showing up……
I agree. In my opinion, the “everyone gets a trophy” ideology is more damaging than it is positively enforcing.
I understand the whole “I’m this way so you should be too” argument has little ground to stand on, so I won’t directly use that as a means for support. However, I would like to state that there are hundreds of cool things that I do not have in game — but still really, really want. Many of these things are very expensive, or very time consuming to acquire, or just locked behind content that I do not enjoy. It’s realistic that some of these things I will never have. But I am OK with that. I am content with what I have, and what I am working on earning right now. I find alternatives, prioritize, and just do what I enjoy doing. From my personal experience, this mindset has felt very healthy and enjoyable.
It’s true that not everything is perfect. I imagine many of the people coming to these forums to rant are doing so out of their love for the game. I think that is OK, as long as the human element is considered through the exchange. By this I am mainly referring to A-net and their tenancy to be pictured as a greedy company who doesn’t care about you — only your money. It’s a sad truth that economy plays a major part in any organization’s decisions, but it’s important to remember that the people who work at A-net are human beings just like you and me. I have met a few personally, and I can say that those people were really cool dudes. They work nearly every day to make GW2 the fantastic game we are privileged to play today. Using sports as an example, it is easy to take a bench-side view and be able to spot all the faults in the play of a team; we end up saying things like “Oh come on! Why didn’t you do [action]! That should have been easy!” But honestly, when working in-the-moment, the big picture is difficult to grasp when focusing on the details — and vice-versa.
With these two things in mind, perhaps what we all need to practice is patience. Things come with time, and time moves on no matter how it is being spent. If we can do this, I think we can do away with lots of unnecessary negativity.
Soon™
It’s on the table™
Also, the table™ is on the table™
I’m trying to get a sense of what skills across professions pre-maturely remove the volatile poison in the Salvation Pass wing’s sloth fight.
I’m pretty sure that the Elementalist’s Mistform will auto-drop the poison, but what other skills do so as well? Is it any transform? Is the Druid’s Staff 3 considered a transform — so does it drop the poison too? What about Necromancer Plagueform or Chronomancer Continuum Shift?
Thank you for any information
Water spirit tried to bump this thread, but was to weak to do it. I came by to give it a hand.
https://www.youtube.com/user/akamikeb would probably know the answer to that …
My guess would be that there were plenty of other alternatives for databases and it wasn’t really worth it to keep the site running.
I checked, it didn’t look like he had anything on that site. But I’m assuming you are probably right.
A couple years ago, GuildHead.com was made to be a strong supportive database for everything GW2. I suppose those shoes have been filled by other sites, but I couldn’t help but notice the GuildHead website domain leads to the wiki now. The site doesn’t even exist anymore.
Did anyone ever hear any statements from the developers? I searched, but couldn’t find any mention on why they decided to quit.
I’m going to miss their “It smells like Charr in here” headline…

Ditto! I want a Tengu Warrior soooooooooo bad.
Personally, I was hoping the Ranger would become a “bunny-thumper” and get access to a hammer…
Now that I wont be able to quick stomp or quick res I dont really see the point in taking Zephyr’s Speed. I used it mainly for these things and now its kinda useless. I would take Beastly Warden but the raduis of it is so low and doesnt work well at all with bristleback or smokescale. Hope they will take another look to this trait now that it got its “value” way down.
Regarding the other changes for ranger – I am a bit excited , though I want to save my final judgement untill the actual balance update.
Imo, Zepher’s Speed is mostly only useful with Longbow. It allows one to complete its channels much faster. But you’re right. Outside of that, it doesn’t see much use.
If Anet had spread the same Mastery/XP gating system over 12 or more new maps – based on the core Tyria maps – I’d have loved the expansion. I like exploration and RPG’ing
In my opinion the new HoT maps are non-RPG, lather-rinse-repeat, platform, single-meta-based-event maps that were gated to give the illusion of content. The Adventures have zero rpg content. And while I’m not a hard-core RPG’er, I like to think that the PvE maps are part of a Living World. Doing the same event over and over, weeks on end to unlock vendors and skins bore me. It bored me so much that I deleted my Alts and sold all the Ascended materials that I’d gathered over the summer in anticipation of the expansion. (On the plus side, I’ve netted almost 2,000 gold on TP!)
This direction started with Living Season 1 and has not varied since. But I didn’t care because of my 5,000 hours, almost 3/4 of that has been in WvW. Now that WvW is crippled, I don’t have much to do but Lumberjack Wars2.
[/quote]
Interesting. In many respects, I feel the exact opposite. To me, the core-Tyria maps feel…for the lack of a better word — pointless. While the new HoT maps give me a sense of “purpose.” Since the maps have players working toward a single, ultimate goal, I feel like I am accomplishing something and contributing.
On the topic of how many maps were released, I’m not sure how this can be elevated. Sure, having more maps is fun and awesome, but what would that do to player concentration? More than likely, it would spread the playerbase far too thin. Having just 4 — but very large — maps all but ensures that each one stays full even at odd hours.
As for WvW, I can’t make any comments. I’m a casual WvW’er at best. I can only hope that future updates bring the structure that you wish for.
If you’ve completely given up on the game, though, would it be too much to ask for you to send me that gold? :P
My character name is Lance Bowson, and I’m always broke.
Cheers <3
It is a good thing that HoT maps are harder than core Tyria.
I hate the direction that Anet has taken PvE gameplay with the HoT maps but, while they are “harder”, I didn’t find them that much harder.
I changed my Engi main from an Ascended Celestial build to a Dire Condi build and have solo’d much of the content – including many Champs.
Liking or not liking the direction Anet is taking PvE (single, instanced meta-event maps) has little or nothing to do with the perceived “hardness” of the new maps.
As a longtime WvW’er, I learned years ago (unlike you?) how to counter hard enemies.
The HoT NPC are just dancing to different algorithms. Learn to zig when they zag, and you’ll win.
So I can get a better sense of what some are disliking about HoT, could you define exactly what is putting you off?
Would be cool to have gliding in The Heart of the Mists, though.
It is a good thing that HoT maps are harder than core Tyria. Right now, core Tyria is way too easy. There’s a good chance I could beat most enemies using my nose to play the game. Excuse me while I whip out my old fogy and talk about the past.
The game that you know as core Tyria today is not how it has always been. There was a time when it was much harder (at launch) than it is now, and a time where it was harder than that (beta). Old Cursed Shore was nightmare, with Risen Krait chain-ulling you half way down the map, aggroing the zerg rush of enemis that occupied that space. Everything in general was all around tougher.
Now, this is where you’ll learn partly of my treachery, but partly of the dark truth that is user metrics. I suggest a long time ago that the game was too hard in a specific way, in that the absolute lack of tutorials for things meant that most players had to fight with wikis and numbers in order to actually be good. Apparently this reflected… some kind of survey Anet did. Might’ve been focus groups, or user metrics. But regardless, they ascertained that there was, indeed, a pretty big drop off at the beginning of the game, that people couldn’t build themselves properly, and that the opening to the game wasn’t “user friendly”.
Now, while my idea is to have more tutorials in the game to demonstrate things, as to eventually make the game harder, Anet took it a different way. Combining the “we want to find our skills like in GW1” suggestion and the idea to increase player retention, they decided to make it so instead of getting most stuff by level 30, all of your utilities and traits were going to be spread out along a much larger area, and that everything would be given to you painfully slow. The game was simplified greatly, and likewise enemy encounters were designed assuming you had little more than auto attacks and under-level gear.
With repeated changes to the trait system, leveling, and stat distributions, the game kept getting easier and easier. Add in a bit of power creep and theorycrafters “breaking” the system to come up with optimal builds, and suddenly you melt face by just auto attacking. This has left core Tyria in a neutered state, where dungeons barely pose a challenge and the overworld is surmountable by all but the most incompetent of individuals.
The thing with HoT maps is that, they take advantage of much more of the combat system than core Tyria does. I imagine that it must be quite the shock moving from faceroll to facemelting content, but it is better this way. These are enemies you have to actually play against. Enemies you have to chase, to disengage, to disable, enemies who aren’t completely destroyed by a blind field. The dodge key is suddenly important. These enemies actually encourage you to take advantage of the intricacies of the GW2 combat system. Enemies in HoT are how GW2 enemies should’ve been designed, and not the “smoke field to win” enemies we get in the rest of the game.
^ This is pretty much my view in a nutshell.
For those who still can’t handle what HoT demands, you can make use of the MMO system; too hard? Bring a friend. Still too hard? Bring a friend’s friend.
HoT is encouraging grouping and socialization, but people seem to be hating it. This must be the irony of an MMO.

while i think it’s fair to say i haven’t been happy with the game…i think the bigger worry is the people who don’t post their unhappiness. i walked away from gw2 and there are plenty more who don’t come to forums to express their displeasure..they just go away.
not every negative post has value but the white knights surely add less than nothing to a serious discussion of the game’s future. the ’everything’s rosy’ , ‘hot is a 10/10’, ‘colin rocks’ crowd are the ones in an echo chamber. but who knows i might be wrong and hot truly is ‘the best mmo expansion every made’ …:D.
could the white knights(errr ‘hardcore’ pve crew ;D ) with their incessant sycophantic ramblings actually be the ones with an agenda?
Just as there is constructive criticism and brainless bashing, I think the same can be said about white-knighting; just because one is defending what they like about the game, it doesn’t make their points automatically invalid.
I was hoping that staff #2 would be changed to transfer conditions of allies touched to the enemy that the wisp is circling around. Or transfer boons from the enemy the wisp is circling around to allies touched.
I’ve come to the conclusion that this “Winters Presence” skin doesn’t actually exist. People are just getting so drunk, no matter where they go they’re seeing snow around either themselves or those near them.
I think I need another eggnog.
If you got blindsided you got blindsided because you’re not an informed consumer and didn’t research the product you were planning to buy before buying it. That’s nobody’s fault but your own.
Blindsided? I think not. In fact, I started a few very strident threads before HoT, as my concerns were that if ANet thought LS2 was the road to the future (i.e. make everything extremely difficult), then I wasn’t going to continue with the game by buying HoT.
But, they fooled me. They made changes that implied they had heard the (very loud) message on the forums and backed off some of the most onerous garbage in LS2.
They fooled me into buying HoT, and I’ve regretted it nearly every day since release. But, I DID do my research.
Examples? Support? Reasoning?
Sorry if I’m asking too much.
This toxicity you mention is mostly because the game requires you to succeed now and many players are still very bad at the game – which leads to bad experiences, frustration and conflict.
If you think about it, this trend was foreshadowed in events like the Marionette, with people complaining in map chat about the event failing. Whether this is due to inexperienced or less-skilled players or not is not what matters.
In order for content to be harder, there has to be a possibility to fail. However, no one likes to fail. Add in the human tendency to blame anyone and everyone other than oneself for failure, and that’s a recipe for bad feelings. The absolute skill of the people present is not a factor. They may all be below average. However, since people tend also to have an inflated opinion of their own capabilities, and since they failed, someone else must be at fault.
Throw in internet anonymity and you’ll see those thoughts expressed.
The skill of the people present is a factor because it leads to frustration – the higher your skill level is the higher your frustration will be when an event or encounter fails and you realize you gave it 100%, did everything as best as you could ( which at a high skill level means a lot) and only failed because some people had no idea what they were doing and were twiddling their thumbs.
It sucks to go through an encounter at your best – pushing as hard as you can, straining yourself for those few extra percentages of performance and playing at your peak only to notice those around you going “yolo swag what am i even doing i’ll just press keys now”.That’s where the frustration comes from.
I have no problem losing an encounter with on-point teammates – even if our best isn’t good enough to succeed I feel fine if I know everybody gave it their best and was as on-point as they could have been.
I get terribly annoyed when I do my best and others do the same only to fail because Carefree Chris has no idea what’s even going on ( no offense to people called Chris). The other main source of frustration is from casual players having a highly inflated opinion of themselves because of core GW2 now being told to “get good” not only by “elitist scum” but by the game itself which is now punishing them much more than it did before.
Having your bubble burst and realizing you’re not as good at the game as you thought you were can only infuriate people.
This is probably spot-on.
Dumbest idea ever. Leave diamond skin alone.
I disagree. I don’t believe this game has room for such blantant hard-counters. Especially passive ones.
The suggestion would still give condi immunity above 90%. It just wouldn’t be as absolute.
