Rebound.3409

As if i care about the name of the class. Dragonhunters will still be called “guardians”….Reapers will still be called “necros”.

All i care is the utility of each class and how it evolves. That name will have close to no impact on anything you do ingame….and i don’t think you will pickup chicks by telling them “Hey…i am a Reaper in bed”

let’s be serious here… Find actually useful things to complain about..and maybe they will concentrate on fixing/modifying that instead of a name.

It all comes down to “will the expansion deliver at the level of expectations&amount anet created for us or not” and that will be the deciding factor for a big shift in the player base numbers. Till then we just have to wait and see. It’s what i personally asked for….a bigger break so they can work on big content not just 30/60min-of-lackluster-gameplay pieces.

That being said i am not very impressed with the 2year+this year work they openly said they put into this. If it’s not up to my personal standards i will just end my GW2 jurney and jump to better things..mmo or not. For me personally this expansion is a pivotal point regarding the game and the time i may or may not invest in it.

This can have a positive impact, in which they deliver the sheer amount of content ppl expect from a company that openly declared they worked on for 2-3 years?

Or it can have the negative impact in which they don’t deliver and ppl who were playing and hoping for HoT to be the holy grail of expansion will simply just give up and be done with the game.

If you ask me, that’s why you don’t see any more LS updates. They are feeling the pressure fullforce to deliver and know what’s at stake here…so all resources go exclusively into finishing/polishing this expansion. That being said, it doesn’t guarantee it will meet the demand and expectations they created by themselves for the active playerbase.

FFXIV just released a test for their new DX11 client…

For a game like Guild Wars 2 I don’t expect to use a 10(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) year old API given the fact that they introduced DX9 with GW Factions after DX8. Can’t be THAT hard to implement.

That’s why you have multiple options. If someone tries to run the DX11/12 client, he will get a popup saying he’s PC can’t support it or WHATEVER..and give him the alternative method.

Pretty much ^ In big part you don’t need the latest DX12 compatible GPU in order to profit from the DX12 performance increase.

Back when DX10 came out i had a native DX9 card…..when jumping from DX9 to 10 (even tho i kept my DX9 card) the performance increase in games was actually very noticeable. Like ~10FPS more in big fights at a lower stress for the PC in general…which is a LOT considering those games were good enough before the upgrade.

@Jayden Orr as stated ingame should be healing itself. Actually all undead there should have dissapeared together with the death of the one who made them Zhaitan…that is also stated ingame both text and several cutscenes.

Who says if you get rid of undead you can’t create something else. As the OP said it could be like an option to go to new orr or old orr. That map has potential and would be awesome if it’s revitalized…bringing back some of the old orr architecture…see growth coming back to total distruction…etc. I would actually play that.

It’s all down to how limited and/or lazy the devs are. I prefer paying gems for something like this rather then ugly/useless pets/cosmetics and whatever they seem to be putting most of their effort in. Content over skins.

Ofc it was full. MMOs are all about the loot..and that item was the only truly valuable item you could loot in that map. Once the item was removed you already see a large of players stopped coming.

An mmo without good loot is not an mmo you keep playing. Most of us are back to doing just dailies.

GW2 is filled with just “temporary” successes. It needs more permanent stuff.

ANet is good at “patching stuff in” not fixing. They won’t do that regardless of how cool it would be because it’s above the limitations. Limitations of what..you choose what.

Look for example at the new map events or even HoT method of removing hearts and replacing them with the new system.

How much are you willing to bet that they won’t remove the old system from the old maps (hearts) and replace them with the new system? As i said..they just patch in without looking back and make the necessary modifications in order to bring the rest of the game to the same standard as the new addons (in this example HoT).

The same can be said about random events that happen..and world bosses. You will never see old-style bosses be as interesting as a marionette-style boss (maguuma wastes). Best case scenario they will triple the HP of the boss and say it’s difficult.

What you see now is what you will see years from now. What they add will never change what they did in the past.

Don’t think so. I think the max “stack” of dust you can get is 50. It went over that number as a bonus and gave u +X amount.

That “50” number you got is too much of a round number to be coincidence imo. It seems like a limit.

And even if you are right…1 dust doesn’t only mean u got bugged out of a beta item. It might also mean you bugged out of a bandit key for example.

250 a stack like Everything else

The max set stack for rewards can be different…either globally for the whole reward or each reward having a different max stack. 250 is not a rule.

Second idea for the newsletter registration thing would be an online checker, if you don’t want to mass send verification emails.

Do a checkup if someone tries to register again, because he is not sure it worked the first time, make a message like “You are already registered for the newsletter! Thank you!”..this way everyone can check his registration status by visiting the website, without you having to send mass mails and risk it ending up in spam.

An improvement to this newsletter system is to send a confirmation email to the ppl who subscribed indicating that it worked. The lack of a confirmation email can create confusion. Ppl simply don’t know if newsletter registration worked or not.

…but the majority of oldschool players in this game QQ about this.

Just out of curiosity: how do you know it’s a “majority” rather than a few ten or maybe hundred repeating their complaints over and over again, making you feel it’s a majority?

From the nr of ppl i know ingame, since beta till now…from the experiences and discussions i had in various guilds..and guilds of my friends. From hearing ppl who had both good luck and bad luck via PM in 2y+.

That majority is limited to the ppl i had and still have contact with (which is a lot but that doesn’t mean a ton)…and to that “personal majority” i also add my personal experience.

So yes..the majority of ppl i know, keep in touch, talk to, including my experience. Overall most of us had a bad experience when it comes down to rewards/loot. Like me…others with their friends/contacts and so on come and say similar things. If 1 says it he’s dumb…if 2 say it…they are stupid..but the more ppl come out and say similar things/experiences that’s when you have to start asking yourself who’s what.

Rewards in general have been subject to different opinions mostly starting from negative experiences for a LOT of time now. Personally i think there’s a problem, specially when talking about consistent abnormal drops for new players in a very short timespan. Opposed to me you personally might think it’s ok for your own reasons which i can respect but will never see as more important as my own personal experience.

If i have a bad experience with something nobody can come and prove “the lack of literally any good drop i had” as being actually good. What do you want me to do? Go ingame thinking “oh some guy told me it’s actually good getting worthless rewards for the countless hours i put in..i shouldn’t even think about it anymore..tralalalalala” ? However much you might say it’s “good” my personal experience and time wasted proves it wrong each time.

Rebound.3409

The fact that a thread like this exists show there’s a very serious problem. I can’t remember any other mmo having such a strong debate about this…maybe a few ppl here and there…but the majority of oldschool players in this game QQ about this. It’s been discussed for years how rewardless this game feels and in the majority of cases is.

The recent wave of ppl getting abnormal drops all of a sudden with new accounts only adds to this issue. On top of which you add the complete silence from the gamedevs and you pretty much have the result you see now. For me silence means indirectly confirming it. That being said, even if they answered doesn’t mean they wouldn’t lie.

Even if the system is working as intended, which i personally doubt, if customers are not happy with a product, that product has to be changed in order to meet the demands. It would be interesting to see them make a poll and see how many ppl think their reward system is good/acceptable/bad.

Beta is made to test content not to admire landscapes. At least it should be because anet haven’t shared with us any info about what is going to be tested in the next beta. If my statement is the case then vets are better at finding bugs and exploits than new players which most probably have no idea what is a bug and what is intented in this game mechanics.

Betas are about hype and stress testing more than anything else.

ANETs bug fixing policy and frequency is poor enough as is to make me think they won’t really care about the bugs reported unless its MAJORLY game breaking which any dunce can find/exploit since that is how they have done it for almost 3 years.

Sadly that is also true.

I got mine after over 20hours.

Nice you are in the “almost nonexistent” category As for proof…read the threads opened here…read reddit…read mapchat or ask ppl when you see them linking the orbs. You will see the balance between ppl who got it fast and ppl who got it investing a lot of time is very disproportional. As i said..i remain skeptical to their whole drop system.

“Dynamic events, in which the completion rewards are reduced for a given character after repeating the same event multiple times.”

Besides normal mob drops which are low in number, in SW for example 90% of rewards are from Dynamic events. This is contradictory to what it says about open world DR…because dynamic events only happen in open world DR..there are none in dungeons.

Also as i said, it’s very strange that when i farm for T6, i get visibly less mat drops after 2-3h exactly like it’s written in that wiki…even tho it’s in open world. Also as strange is the fact that most ppl QQing are ppl who played extensive amounts of hours and didn’t get the reward as opposed to what i’ve read and heard from most ppl who got the item (less then 1-2h) or first events.

I remain skeptical regarding the info on the wiki page. I haven’t seen anything to indicate it’s 100% right yet.

It is because it’s practically like this: The more you play the less chances you get..because the DR system kicks in. That’s why the majority of drops u see from ppl who played 1-2h …and most ppl who complain about not getting it is from 5h++

This means you basically have a “limited time” to get the item by RNG, till DR kicks in and your RNG is effected negatively till it’s not even worth it anymore.

Now if you ask me a system that punishes you for playing the game more, is kinda dumb. Effort should be rewarded not punished..and playing for a lot of hours is an effort…even if you do something you like.

It’s not only the prehistoric DirectX used but also the lack of real 64bit technology. You will run this game on max 2 cores…mainly on 1.

This game is abysmal when it comes to performance by today’s standards (even minimum standards), however much you want to defend it and i understand why because i also love the game, that doesn’t change fact.

The “gorgeous fantasy world” means literally nothing as long as my experience ingame while achieving that “world” is 30-40fps. I am sorry but if i wanted to play at 30-40FPS i would have got a console..not a powerhouse PC. I have PC standards…not Console standards. Not only that but the “gorgeous fantasy world” is getting pretty old pretty fast considering the limitations of the DirectX. I mean look at other games and what they can achieve.

“But it’s an mmo” is not an acceptable excuse anymore in this age…if you still think it is i am sorry but you should be aware of how much tech has advanced. Maybe you are used to old tech. As the OP said..look at GTA and what it can achieve, at what scale and level….with the requirements of a medium at best PC. “oh but that’s not an mmo” yes it is and it has more “stuff” happening at one time in the world then this game has. While ideling in LA you get 40 FPS with about 5-10 ppl around you being afk or on the MF standing still. In GTA with cars going everywhere, ppl shooting rockets, explosions everywhere, flying helicopters, having rain and general weather, rendering everything at ultra settings on everything you get stable 60FPS on a medium i5 model with a 770 geforce card which is old…and GTA IS A CONSOLE PORT!. If that’s not enough …look at what Black Desert can achieve which is an mmo. I am sorry but there is literally no excuse.
