Then everything outside PvP should be as hard as what you say also. Are you that blind as to see what you are actually suggesting? This is a game not a second job. If this is a second job for you then great, you will be faster then everyone else in obtaining it..but making it almost impossible for 70% (AT LEAST) of the playerbase just because of “some alien reasons” you have is plain dumb.

How about you have 50k AP, and at least 5k hours in the game to even be elegible to the fractal wings?..or hell..even ANY hot content.

The reward for skilled players is that they get something much faster then others do. That’s how it SHOULD be in any decent mmo. For anyone TIME is the most important resource…so you as a so called PRO, achieving something big in a very short amount of time is the best reward you could always have.

I’ve seen quite a few very good thiefs that knew how to do their job. Thiefs honestly, atm, are ok and balanced in PvP..it’s all down to the player.

Adding that dumb suggestion with “division loss” will literally and hands down be the death of PvP. As is, most players will get their wings next season. If you make that a pain to get (MORE THEN IT ALREADY IS), trust me, you queues after these season will be 50 minutes long…because literaly no one will play it. So all you elitists will just go back to complaining how dead your broken game mode is.

It will be glorious. Instead of attracting more players to PvP in order to make the population better, you will push everyone away

Problem with this system is, most people let’s be honest play ranked for the wings..even the competitive players. Hell if i want to be competitive i would just organize private rooms and go all out organized and all…this whole thing is just a circus-fest.

For the wings, there are certain achievements that ask u to for ex pass through 4 divisions and so on.

The system you talked about honestly i agree with and it seems 10x better then the circus we have now BUT in order to do that, they should remove the wings requirement for passing divisions.

PvP atm is just a gamble. You either get lucky with a good group/classes or u will lose…very very VERY few games are skill dependent

Today again. Someone left at ~half game ish. Obvious loss…..also lost 1 pip.

I have never seen this game NOT penalize me 1 pip for someone’s terrible internet or ragequit.

If that’s the case let’s do it like this. Any player who even stepped once in pvp, will have their access completely taken from Fractal legendary wings…because we have to be fair right? U make pvp wings impossible to get for “everyone” then we do the same for the rest of content for u.

Yea i did finish the match..like 500-30 lol. I was solo. Friends are overrated.

Played in 4 for ~half the match. Still lost a pip. I thought this wasn’t supposed to happen.

It says i should pass 4 divisions during “a pvp season”. Does that mean if i don’t get to diamond at least once i have no chance of finishing that one?

Or does it span over multiple seasons like other achievements?

You get a sense of progression from a 30min daily login and 10AP? It’s extremely sad if progression in this game has transformed into this.

Thiefs are a “score or miss” kinda class IMO. You either biblically own someone (very fast) or someone will biblically own you (very fast)…whereas most other classes are move versatile.

I think ppl see it more like a D move. Most are aware anyone is entitled to stuff like this because on the long run you “the creators of the party” decide and dictate how your own party handles things.

What would, in my opinion, have been a D move, would be NOT stating your terms in the party message and just kick people without them knowing your “entry fee”..but in the OPs case, i see you guys clearly stated u want someone with X AP and he didn’t read it.

I have 22500 AP and besides that you seem very hurt (IRL almost) if someone would take your toys. Why? I thought AP players do it to be completitionists not necessarily for the loot. If that’s the case, how does having a limit to it have any negative impact on you?

If anything a limit on achievement points would actually address the core nature of “achievements”…as in “you ACHIEVED finishing them”. If you want no limit that means u will never achieve anything.

All i see by activating a nolimit for daily AP is people like you and their toxicity spam just like you did right now. You are desperately trying to prove to other people you might have some stuff he doesn’t, and in that process actually create toxicity with the way you talk about it. So considering people like you want no limit for AP, i will support the AP limit.

Remove AP cap and retire the leaderboards. That would be the best way to handle it.

Also remove the AP from being shown ingame and also remove the items you receive for them. That would be so much cleaner, considering people should play for AP as a personal form of pride not for items.

If i have almost 30k AP, lvl100 frac and 150 AR, can i join your party and kick you all out? I am just assuring everything goes as smoothly according to my “Stats”.

This just SCREAMS exploit. People will have mules that d/c on purpose when loosing just so the group doesn’t lose a pip.

Hell..i can even go as far as paying someone a few gold who doesn’t do HC pvp, in order to drop the match and that way preserve my pip…….

Will have fun in BDO because i go in with no expectations (apart from a crazy character creation screen). GW2 i had high expectations that gradually got worst over time so i can’t have a good time in it anymore because of the disappointment level “having expectations of someone” creates.

Also for the self proclaimed experts here. What’s the difference between GW2 (now) and what you call a korean grinder? Make a list.

When this game came out the differences where clear and GW2 was miles away…but when i play it (now) it feels more and more like there’s absolutely no difference between it and a korean grinder in mechanics. It’s actually worst considering the rewards in this game.

PS. Comparing pay2win cash shops to skin2win cash shops is not a valid comparison. I am talking about the overall feeling of the game, mechanics wise, time spent doing the same thing over and over, time spent doing things that are NOT “over and over again”..amount of those things, the rewards u get for doing that etc.

Personally, GW2 (NOW) for me is the mirror image of a Korean grinder, but compared to a traditional grinder, this one doesn’t give u the impression of progression or “getting rewarded for your time spent” whatever you might do and in which the real goal/reward of the game are skins which makes it a skin2win game seeing that 9/10 skins u have to buy of the cash shop. Gem conversion what does it mean? “Instead of paying $$ for a skin, you use your time in order to grind gold which you convert and buy that item”, which means “you can obtain anything over time if you spend enough time”. That rule can be applied to p2w games also. “Buy potion X for $$ that makes you kill things faster at a lower level” (random example). Yes, but if you play enough, you will eventually not need that potion. Same goal…obtaining something faster ($$) over obtaining something slower (time). In p2w games it might be to go into a dungeon which is hard (endgame content), in gw2 is for obtaining a skin (sadly considered endgame content)

Yea i agree with u here….and i admit i was one of the vocals that demanded an expansion expecting an expansion’s worth of content especially for that money.

Most people say it’s “lazy” because they most certainly think of the money they payed for it and the money they spent for other games or the initial GW2 base game. The criteria they compare it with i see acceptable…so the truth is somewhere in the middle.

I for one am not satisfied with both the quantity AND more importantly the quality of the product i payed a “full game’s worth” money for and the so called “free LS updates” come too slow for me to care anymore about what happens in the game.

@Vayene i remember ANet stating i think during the live introduction of HoT (or close to it) that the expansion has been in the works for 2 years? something like that. And they already had plans for it (as in the story and whatnot) since the game released. I might not be entirely right but i do clearly remember them saying it’s been in the works for more then 1 year.

@Avarice no it’s not. Because it mostly has been a very repetitive and frustrating “200h” experience compared to 60-100h of other games that are memorable. The quality is simply not there for me. The only reason i put in that much time is because i like to complete goals and that i really wanted to give this game a chance and see why they hyped so much HoT for it’s price. If i had the knowledge i have now, back when the game came out, and if i knew the amount of boring and rewardless grind this game is, i wouldn’t have invested even that amount of time.

Another reason i played this is, i will admit, because there were no games out there that interested me. But now, black desert is almost out even if it isn’t that great, atleast it’s eyecandy and for the initial money u buy it for, it’s well worth the fresh experience, just like GW2 was. Blade and Soul even if it’s grindish, it’s surprisingly fun…there’s 2 kinds of grind a fun grind and a boring grind. Blade&Soul makes it interesting. The division is coming out, played the beta and i loved it altho it definitely needs dark zone improvements.

So yea…the “Drought” season for me is over, thus a big reason i still played GW2 is also gone and this expansion failed to give me the consumer enough reasons to support this, already old (both mechanically and graphically), game.

The ONLY time you can justify time/money as you do…is when someone has fun in all that time spent in the game. For ex the base game justifies it’s money. This? no sry.

On top of that, the level of disappointment grows because i see a company that has promised some things and has completely abandoned them. Not to mention i payed 60$ for the base game that offered me easily and without exaggerating 10 times the content. So no…i am not satisfied and it is in no way shape or form worth 60$…it’s at the borderline of being a scam.

@Vayne i don’t play “for efficiency” like it’s a goal. You misunderstood me. I play normally by my standards, i never once felt that i put in more then i usually do in the game. By that i said that other ppl must be inefficient at the most basic things…as in “inefficient compared to normal play standards”.

As i said, personally, this expansion is the last investment i do in this company monetary wise. I fully stopped any gem purchases even tho i might have liked some of the stuff in the gemstore because honestly i can’t support the direction this company has chose to go in. This is my personal decision. I am sure the game won’t die with me leaving.

A game is fun as long as it makes u feel like you are having fun. The moment a game becomes like a second job in which u poor hours for something that seems to get further and further, it becomes “not fun”. A “not fun” game is not a game anymore. I will just move to other things. Maybe do some dailies for that 10AP. Other then that..nah. not worth it.

I play casually…like 2-3h/day…maybe more in the weekend. I finished what i consider 90% of what HoT has to offer.

Almost all achievements, got to 161 (no spiderfarm), raids are too elitist for me to have fun in..maybe will do a run sometime later. I also finished all adventures except 1-2 golds (like the floor is lava or something, and shooting range). I fully finished the story and all it’s achievements except the part where u have to not be hit by the dude at the end while flying…because anet decided u need to redo hours of questline just to get to that point, and they also thought it would be fun.

Have all masteries, all weapons except 2 i think for all classes. Finished maps with multiple characters. I skipped legendaries because i can’t work for something that looks worst or at the same level as black lion skins i am sorry.

WvW…..i played 1-2 days to see what’s up with the new maps (and i add here i loved wvw and played it almost exclusively up until i got bored at most 1y ago). I won’t comment on the new maps because i feel like someone actually tried his best to do something cool…i don’t want to insult him more then the map itself does.

So…yea i did all this……..

……………………………….in the first month. MAYBE 2 weeks into the second month.

Since then i just do dailies and log off..just like i did before the expansion.

I don’t see how ppl can’t finish “most” of hot has to offer in more then 1 month. Some players just don’t know how to be efficient i guess. I can’t play inefficient just to lie to myself i am having a great time. Or do you expect me to farm 100 meta events for Tarir and come here and pretend i am having fun? Like most people i see do nowadays.

This expansion is a wreck. Each time i see someone take up his white mantle to say “oh there’s tons of stuff to do!” it just makes me puke. It’s at best an overglorified, not to mention overpriced, DLC.

Whatever they might release after this, i personally will not buy. It is the last product i buy for this mmo.

@GroundFrog so i am not the only one experiencing this since the last 2 patches.

EDIT:

I did some tests. It seems it has to do something with FLASH player. If i am on a normal tab, everything seems ok..but if i switch to TWITCH when a livestream is on, gw2 goes to 1-2 FPS. If i leave a twitch stream OPEN, and then change the tab to something else that doesn’t display the live video, everything also works well.

Again..this was NOT happening prior to the end of wintersday patch.

I have noticed since the last 2 patches, a very strange problem. When i have Firefox open in the background i get HUGE fps drops when i move the camera around and it doesn’t fix over time…by huge i mean it drops from over 100FPS to 2FPS.

The moment i close Firefox, everything goes back to normal. On IE it doesn’t have that issue. Also with aftereffects encoding in the back i still don’t have that issue.

This only started happening very recently. I also tried at fullHD res, the same problem. Atached kitten with the settings i have been running for quite a while.

Just report him + screenshot ingame.
