Guild Wars 2

I have no qualms over the costing of the expansion and if it comes to it I will purchase the ultimate edition without a doubt after having played this game since release.

However, I’m slightly concerned about the lack of physical edition. On my shelf in my room I have GW Prophecies, Factions, Nightftall, EoTN and Guild Wars 2 next to all of my favourite classic Nintendo games.

Is there really going to be no physical edition or will we see it announced in the near future?

I plan to purchase the digital ultimate edition but I’d just like clarification on a physical copy release and when/if it will come.

This is a very opinion based question and you should always choose what legendary that you think suits your play style and character most.

The first legendary I made was quip since I play engi and mesmer most out of my characters and this could be used on both, plus I love the 2 casts that pistol has for mesmer.

Next I would probably make bitfrost since that’s a weapon that suits my play style most and I love playing defensively on my mesmer whilst keeping constant pressure. Greatswords are way too common these days it seems like half the warriors/guardians you see either have twilight or sunrise.

In the blog post from December the developers mentioned a skin merge that was in the works where all PvE skins could be worn in PvP (no stats) and PvP skins could be used for PvE.
I plan on buying the Ghastly Grinning Shield this week but I just wanted to check if I used it for PvE now it would work in PvP once the update takes place?

Much love <3 I am willing to test out builds outside my own build, however with sets like dire, I have a huge grudge against, because I personally feel vitality is a useless stat when it comes to pvp. What vitality allows you to do is survive the initial burst, but it takes much longer to heal up again. Since engineers start with high base health, I don’t feel its necessary to have and I rather go for something that would help me mitigate damage and/or help me kill my opponent faster. With the lack of precision you will lose the burning and bonus damage from crit’s. I can see why you would use the pistol pistol with dire, since you lack the burning, however don’t you feel that you lose a lot of survivability and utility by not using shield? Would love to hear your opinion on that.

Yeah I feel the same about the loss of shield but the 2 most active YouTube roaming engineers “wolfineer” runs dire armor no shield and “prozap” runs dire armor with shield. Their argument is that rabid accessories make up for the loss of precision. Obviously perplexity build are more effective but I’d just like to see you run any build without it because of the extra skill/effort that is needed.

Maybe do vids using different builds thoroughly analyzing and testing them instead of using the standard perplexity build. One build I’d like to see you try is the dire set up with pistol/pistol?

For a while now I have been testing different builds and I’m finally happy with my roaming build (dire with scavenger runes using bomb/tool kit) but I still find myself switching builds for zerg play on a daily basis.

Nades just feel slow and ineffective even on a power build and bombs seem to me like they could have a real use in zergs if you get a good trait line and enough survivability.

Does anyone have an effective bomb build for zerg vs zerg combat?

Haha yeah, wasn’t complaining it’s nice to see guilds working together and tbh one of you alone wouldn’t of captured it but you would of farmed us for 20 minutes at least instead of capturing instantly :P.

I’ve recently switched from Ele to Engi as a main and I’m totally in love with this class, my favourite kits are without doubt grenades and bombs as I feel flamethrower just lacks damage.

I’m looking to build full celestial stat gear as I think the raw damage and the conditions nades/bombs offer will fit perfectly with the celestial stats plus it offers extra survivability with the bomb laying.

Is this build any good and if anyone has a similar build could they tell me the trait lines they follow and if they go with pistol/pistol or what?

I’ve been looking for a decent staff to buy (looks wise) for a while now, does anyone know what the staff 1 animation on guardians looks like with the crossing or any other decent staffs that have nice animations on guardians otherwise.

(I’m an Asura if the makes any difference.)

Gandara dominated in day time, we dominate night time, prime time not much in it, hence the close score.

Kill Shot is a highly telegraphed channel. It’s fine.

Warrior ability to shrug off all conditions and dash/charge away while passively regaining all their health and immune to CC is what needs nerfed.

I understand that and agree but hitting a level 80 char with some PVT for 95% of its health in one skill seems silly to me.

Well we all know how ridiculously overpowered Anet have made Warriors in WvW but what I just witnessed was a new level of stupid.

My total health is usually 18.9k and I just got hit for 18.7k in one hit by a warrior, explain to me how this game is not broken and how one class is not overpowered compared to the rest.

I hope the true bros of Silver league make a good showing against both Abbadon and Desolation. The double teaming and potential drama and backstabbing a season will bring is interesting.

In all honesty though in the last 2 months we have lost 6 core guilds (one of them had a 40+ raid team.) This week Gandara has played better than us tbh it’s just the last day where I guess most of Gandara is doing Halloween PvE and deso has more players. I agree most of our PvE will probably come back when they see we are winning matches again (something we haven’t being doing for 4 months or so.) Abbadons however are on another level of blobbing compared to us.

Had a lot of fun in this match-up so far from a Gandara point of view, even though Vizunah have a massive lead and I wake up to Vizunah having a three t3 keeps on EB every day it’s still great fun trying to recapture it until about 1pm, and prime time has been really fun too when Gandara and Millers actually have enough.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by Vizunah this match, I’ve seen and heard a lot about your siege ways and been terrible in the open field but so far this week you’ve impressed me more than SFR did the last time we faced them. Hope Vizunah can win the gold league as they deserve in more than most.

SFR guild core is so much worse than it was in SFR v1.0 or even SFR 2 months ago when it had ECL and Opt at their best. Now the only 2 guilds left are what? CoN and KoA, don;t even mention ZBs or Sprt with the 35-40 man groups they run every raid.

I don’t really like to see the matchup thread filled with posts of guilds leaving or breaking up. Had this last week as well, with a dying far shiverpeaks server and guilds stopping to play on aurora glade.

Deso will rebound again, don’t worry. It’s still the best all-around international EU server due to its massive PvE population which will always work as a potentially huge recruitment pool. I think guilds which keep server-hopping are doing themselves a disservice in the long run since they won’t ever be able to become part of a greater community, which is crucial in every MMO and even more so in a subsystem like WvW, but time will tell I guess.

Being the most popular EU PvE server is actually very negative for recruitment, any group/guild can guest to Deso for our PvE (I see Vii and ZBs tags at our events everyday.)
If some good guilds were willing to pay the 1800 gems cost to transfer here (a cost caused by our massive PvE population) and managed to turn deso into a force again (one that could compete with SFR/Viz) all of the PvE players would suddenly come flooding back to WvW which means guilds would never be able to raid.

So Desolation being the #1 PvE server EU works as a double negative for recruitment within WvW rather than a positive.

I’m all for it as long as the community that play it get a say in what gets added to it and not ruined by one developer within six months like the current WvW was.

Lol 3rd guild to leave this week and have to admit Coin were one of the most respectable guilds we had, good luck in NA Beatrix and Coin.

Nice to see Pikenlation winning this match up by so much, lets hope they get a few more prime guilds even to face the mighty SFR.

Wemil is SFR EB’s main commander and he’s from ZBs but good try also I know from experience that wickie, rajnesh etc will sometimes command eb, your pretty much implying if someone from a guild leads eb its a guild raid.

Why some of these good GvG guild seems to be kind of useless in www?

cos this week has been one of the worst match-ups I’ve seen, usually SFR have some good small guild groups such as VG, CoN and Opt but only once or twice have I seen a group of SFR with less than 35 this week even in the morning.

Something very weird just happened in eb that I think Anet should look into, Desolation were in the lord room of a t3 ogrewatch lord just went down and SFR had just finished capping kodash keep, it was clear they wouldn’t make it in time and all of a sudden the map crashed for all 3 servers, this may be a coincidence but it was a very weird one if so seems as when we returned the t3 tower had been fully repaired by SFR…

Elder Scrolls Online will have something similar. Pay monthly is kind of annoying but i would rtaher pay to play it and have a GOOD mode rather then have this total mess.

I’d happily pay if it meant having developers working on the game type and listening to the players that play it everyday instead of where Devon is taking WvW atm.
