I get it, it’s a easy and very effective playstyle and lots of people are complaining about it. Why not just tuning it down a bit, make the turrets with less hp or reduce the fire rate by a bit, and for god sake, make them despawn when engi moves out of range. 3 turrets left behind at a cap point alone can put enough pressure on my thief to deter me from ninja caping the point.

its not engineer fault you play berserker and die due to not having defenses or clearing out said turrets

the way i see it the fact that there will be an expansion is all the more reason free players should get an incentive to not get left way far behind and thus things like precursor crafting is a blow between the legs with a warhammer specially as its been promised since before Ascended weapons and maybe even fractals came out to begin with

theres no excuse to neglect non expansion buyers from having Basic features the whole new profession and legendary skins and maps etc i find aceptable to be exclusive but not the whole crafting upgrade

think about it how fair would it be if Example: HoT Warriors had initiative system and their 100b became unblockable how would combat be fair then between new warrior vs old warriors ?

as i said im not asking for players to get free expansion heck anet adds new content or fixes on a monthly basis so free players wont be completely left out . but its unreasonable to forget about non HoT buyers completely.

i dont know if its a bug or not or if my dps or armor is insane but i run with hoardss of mobs after myself however i make my builds prepare for that for example if i know theres potential of me being hit with near instant killing moves i simply take A.E.D and make sure i got the reset heal skill cooldown on 25% hp trait bam 2 insta revives right there its all about countermeasures .

Who doesnt like some good sylvari salad though

I understand expansions are paid but there are some things that were promised to us years ago and now i see they ve been advertised all over the HoT discussions and previews such as Precursor crafting and new legendaries

Personally i will buy the expansion i just want to simply know how much exactly will be exclusive to the expansion and how far the gap between free players and those that buy the expansion is

i run dungeons fractals world bosses just fine as my engineer

so yeah it seems its a L2P issue from your side

i usually run Static discharge builds
with rifle turret wrench and elixir U or whatever i feel is better depending on dungeon or whatever .

if you want a dungeon immortal build go full clerics with healing bombs and backpack regen sigil of life and saffron ice cream i think it was

Hello, I think to buy/upgrade my PC with those specs, for now im sure about these:
GPU: Sapphire R9 270X Toxic 2GB
16GB Ram 1,600Mhz
MB: ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 or ASROCK Z77 PRO4-M ( Depends on CPU )
Finally, the main question. I’m not sure which CPU to buy. For now I’m focused on intel core i5 3570k, but I heard this game is running better on AMD, so I’m not sure which to buy AMD FX 8350 or I5 3570k. I’m looking for some suggestions please. If possible I need some help with PSU too. Thanks !

the only thing doing holding back that build is the GPU at least get a 280x/285 or if you got patience and like looking around try find a r9 290x with discount i seen em about 232$ average 260$

PS. instead of the 8350 get the 8370, then again intel makes the better CPUs

engineer simply needs the throw mine to be reverted back to mine kit

1 to 5 mines simpy do damage and remove 1 boons and the toolbelt then be the big mine that knocks and strips 2-3 boons

the whole reason mine kit got removed was cuz all mines had knockback so why not actually fix what made the darn thing broken and put the mine kit without the knockback spam.

as for elites as many have said mortar either needs to be a cannon or needs a 500 extra range added and better skills and damage

Honestly, stealth is not a broken mechanic. D/P is a broken mechanic Anet decided to give to thieves. I main thief and D/P is extremely easy to play since you literally can perma stealth away. I bet every single person in here QQing fought a perma stealth easy mode thief, doesn’t mean stealth needs “fixed” because let’s be real, when Anet tries to fix something they completely ruin it.

i ll summarize some things

All mmos have a grinding factor to them so what sets them apart?

what do i mean some might ask well simply put Anet or whoever has nerfed Every single source of farming and time gated it while leaving the same crafting requirement setup for legendaries and what not untouched wich goes for All Craftables pretty much now even world bosses run on a global timer

a for the legendaries are just a skin copy paste response : No, true they have a minimal stat gain over exotics However the Main benefit is the fact you can swap its stat to any stat set on the fly wich means you can use 1 weapon with every armor set plus the stat diference isnt that minimal against players that for some reason run in blues and greens at lvl 80

With these numbers and examples you should be able to figure out the rest for yourself. I played Neverwinter as well… and it certainly was a lot harder to calculate for that game than Guild Wars 2.

Just note that most players here can’t actually calculate, and often blindly follow the builds others created some time before for reasons different from what their original buildmakers intended – then as they cannot defend, they insult everyone who does not agree. That is the reason I ask if you are serious or not before committing to a proper answer.

As for those people that come up or follow builds just because it feels good, they are usually called baddies.

Just a quick question before I actually delve into the math. What are the 2 optimal sigils to have for an ele in terms of DPS? Would it be bloodlust/250power and accuracy? (ignoring the water weapon trick)
Speaking of the water weapon, would having a passive sigil like accuracy on it affect the main weapon or not?

bloodlust is highest dps sigil if you dont die often

simply because skill have diferent scalings with power for low scaling skills 5% from force sigil is ok but for back stab 100b meteor etc kind of skills 250 power is a masive damage gain i havent played but if it is true you gain 5 stacks per kill on stack sigils now bloodlust is the way to go by default on any build

1500-2000 base range

1000 damage increase or 500 but make projectiles crit or simply give the skills stat
scaling 1.0 on #1 skill 0.70 healingpower scaling on #3 and 1.5 power scaling on #5

more arc so it can be used from towers without having to hug the walls and dieing
give it 30-50% more armor or health

I see you still aren’t understanding the issue because you are looking at it from your own perspective.

Your server has a healthy population.

Most servers do not.

Healthy servers can do round the clock world bosses because they have enough people round the clock.

Small servers (the majority of them) can do only those world bosses that fall within the 1-2 hour window that has the peak population.

With the schedule and megaserver system, everyone has equal access to world bosses, so the number of players killing world bosses has the potential to increase overall.

might not be as bad as it sounds assuming bosses have hourly spawns

That’s total BS…Used to be able to farm all world bosses within a 2.5 -3 hour timer range…Now its minimum of 8 hours to farm the same amount. Anet needs to fix this system or I and many other guild leaders who USED to run PVE trains will be leaving!!! I made jack and squat last night and sat around waiting for bosses to pop for way way too long. The game has now become a time sink if you actually want to do world meta events. ANET did this in order to sell more gems plain and simple but when you push away your loyal player base with idiotic changes such as this you are cutting your own greedy throats in the process!! A game I once loved to play is quickly becoming one I loath because of the failed and unnecessary changes…IF IT AINT BROKE DONT FIX IT numnuts!! -METLE

Right… YOU made less because YOU used to do it a lot. Meanwhile OTHERS have the potential to make more because OTHERS now have access that didn’t exist before.

Before, a small number of people did the world bosses often while a large number of people never did them at all (because they couldn’t).
After, a large number of people can do the world bosses while a small number of people can do them less often.

It’s a change that can benefit the entire game overall, at the expense of people like you. I know it sucks to be the guy who gets kicked, but it had to happen or else the server population distribution issue would kill the game and then we’d all be out.

whereas condi builds just roll a finger around the keyboard slapping storms of conditions and destroying targets indiscriminetly cuz condi damage only needs 1 stat and ignores armor

Here’s a fun fact: Condition builds need condition duration. With 0 condition damage, a necro wielding a scepter in Soldier’s gear actually out-damages one in Dire against 2600 armor. Necro scepter is a hard condition damage weapon with horrid power scaling, yet it needs 40% bleed duration and 25% poison duration just to scale as well with condition damage as it does with power.

condi dur aint mentioned because condi duration i pretty much added by default with traits necro gets about 50% bleed duration on traits alone warrior can get 80% with their 50% bleed trait and power trait
so thats easily 90-120% condi dure with traits and food alone add an extra 25% with runes if you may wich also add up to condi damage

so where there is condi damage there is condi duration at least

so there ya have it with 40 trait points you already get max duration and power wich leaves the remaining 30 points for condi damage and precision giving you max damage all you need to top it off is dire gear and bam max survivability as well

love how condi defenders suddenly got amnesia and ignore the part where everyone mentions that what makes conditions imbalanced is the fact condi builds can have full vit and toughness as well as max damage thanks to dire gear

try full rampager gear the zerker version of condi gear see how people will actually be more accepting to conditions when you can actually get punished for spamming your cooldowns caelessly

this is why dps fanboys as you said required sacrificing a defensive stats and traits

whereas a condition user simply needs condition damage on gear wich alows condi users to have ultimate damage as well a ultimate survivability by simply using dire gear and increasing dps by simply mixing some rabid gear aka have the best of everything all at once

theres also the fact theres no means to reduce condi damage outside of eating lemongrass as they also ignore armor

I’m amazed at how short-sighted many people are: they’re happy at making other players suffer without understanding that those people were the ones who made their life easier by repeating monotonous task which the first players wouldn’t have to do. It’s like being happy at a limit of those dirty lousy yardmen – before seeing that they’ll have to pick up all the trash themselves now.

Fasalina, Nerelith and others who admit they haven’t studied economics, here’s a Wiki image.

The image shows an increase in supply – the price drops. When supply decreases, the price increases.

  • Let’s say we had 100 players who needed 1 charged lodestone per week each, which makes 100 lodestones per week.
  • We had 10 farmers who farmed 10 lodestones per week each, which makes 100 lodestones per week.
  • Let’s say the price got an equilibrium at around 2g.
  • After patch, we still have 100 players who need 1 charged lodestone per week each, which makes 100 lodestones per week – nothing changed.
  • After patch, the 10 farmers can only farm 5 lodestones per week.
  • When the first 50 lodestones at 2g are sold, the other 50 players still need 50 more lodestones.
  • Because they need these lodestones but can’t get them, they offer more for these lodestones – let’s say up to 4g per lodestone.
  • 10 other non-farmers see that the offers for lodestones got higher and decide to go farming.
  • Now we have 20 people farming instead of 10 people to provide enough supply of 100 lodestones per week, while players pay more for the exact same lodestones because otherwise the farmers will stop farming.

Result of the train-nerf which you’re so happy about? More people have to grind, more casual players suffer from an increase in prices. Both sides become unhappy (and eventually leave the game).

…and let’s not forget that world boss trains for ecto and Orr event farming for T6 also got nerfed.

So your only argument to say that warriors are good in duels is Hambow. Sadly hambow is not balanced and will get nerfed what is left is terrible specs. The only way to win is pop all stances and hopefully your burst will land without getting blinded or without your enemy porting away. Not to mention that poison literaly makes Healing sig useless.

A warrior is like a PvE mob, hits slowly, hits hard,Has alot of HP, thats about it

or maybe you use hammer and no offhand apparently

i havent had issues using rifle axe/shield sword/sword sword/shield GS Hammer

im starting to think the complainers on this thread are those guys who dive into zergs and then lie saying they die dueling

The zerker equivalent of condi would be condi damage/precision/condi duration.
Since no such sets exist, the comparison between condis and direct damage should be done with dire/soldier or apothecary/cleric or rampager/assassin

If those sets deal more damage over the same duration in one of the two build, then one can say direct damage or condi damage is overpowered.
Until someone does the math with equivalent sets (including equivalent runes), I’m gonna say my feeling is that they are pretty balanced.

Some people here try to compare strawberries and lemon, some stating strawberries sre best cause they are sweet and some countering with you can’t make lemonade with strawberries…

Can’t you guys compare strawberries and blueberries for a change? If someone can send me equivalent builds (direct and condi on one class) by MP, I’ll be happy to make the math…
Only rule would be to not put anything in the build that is not aimed at damage (eg.:straight condi removal or vigor, or damage negation abilities such as berserker stance or endure pain) since I will only calculate damage output over a given duration (maybe five minutes)
Some things such as Well of corruption would be hard to calculate, but if builds sent have them, I’ll do my best to calculate it fairly.

rampager is the serker version of conditions wich is rendered useless when you can just slap some rabid trinkets on a full dire set

and again as its been said you cant compare serker to Dire its just too effective max suvivability and max damage in one package no one’s trying to find a serker equivalent version of condi gear because serker is not a match give serker toughtness and vit and see how balanced it is lol the thing about conditions is theyir goal was to deal substained damage but instea their damage is pretty much done by bursts and appliea at ridiculous paces with no means to reduce damage outside of condi dure reduction wich is undone by simply eating pizza or koi cake

see what I did there? I’m pretty sure that was the Q_Q meta on the forums until Ferocity was announced. And I am pretty sure that the Q_Q meta will change once the 15th rolls around and everyone calms the kitten down and sees how all the changes will affect the game. Until then, your argument doesn’t carry that much weight.

zerkers are a joke in the current meta and you cant actually compare serker vs condi builds simply because of how conditions work they only have condition damage as modifier so you get ultimate tsurvivability while maximizing your damage simply by using Dire gear

whereas serker has to dump all defensive stats and pretty much die as fast as they kill
serker i all about risk vs reward dire has no risk

That is a horrible and unfair punishment. Why should the second attacker be punished and have diminishing returns to his attacks, simply because someone else already hit his target?

Why shouldn’t a group of 3 or 4 overwhelm a single target? It if fully reasonable in all aspects that they should cc him, condition him, and direct damage him in a brutal pummeling. It is a 4v1 for goodness sake.

this is my point a team should be able to cc a single player or another group if coordinated wht makes people rage on hammer warriors is that Each warrior has an aoe stun an aoe knock and an aoe launch so thats 2-3s of doing nothing per warrior spamming or necros with their super fears gotta love when you get slapped with a minute long fear (necro fears are quite limited at least as far as i played one so fear doesnt count i think )

i gotta say i’d love these changes OP proposed however DR would be much too strong and bad for wvw Unless the CC DR is applied individually so teamwork isnt punished for locking a character between 3 players

because it would render DR useless i it was global Example i immob someone for 3s my buddy tries to use same immob but instead applies 1s

You call necro broken? I am glad if I find a condi mesmer. I quite like fighting them.

Look warriors and thief:
- 25 stacks of bleed is not broken.
-Or super condi burst in 2.5 sec is not broken either.

Condi’s don t need a nerf. But don t Grawl about condi necro’s or mesmers.

however its all depending on build in my case i meant power necro as while it ll be able to nuke hp with direct damage necro will still be able to slap a clusterstorm of conditions wich even at small damage are harmful if you slap over 6

its not like i ve defended warrior and thief either i still say its cheap that thiefs have poison on auto attack when they have the fastest auto attack speed
and yeah warriors are way cheap with the ridiculous torment and bleed stack and if they have some power or might that #3 is gonna destroy you when you hit 30% hp

there needs some sort of condi damage reduction like Agony but for conditions with a max cap of 30-40% maybe on runes or a gea set so players have to actually trade off some actual stat points and/or rune benefits

It already exists . It’s called rune of melandru.

duration is not the same as damage sure it helps reduce total damage but if the condition damage is as massive as the one i run around with 2500+ you wont survive my 23 stacks of confusion with burning poison bleed and torment and all this is slapped at a mere 4 seconds with less than 20s cooldown melandu wont do much
either as some classes get up to 80% condition duration on some conditionsWith Traits alone then theres 40% more condi from food then 25-40% more from runes

good luck to those who fight me in trying to kill me as running with dire gets me around 26000 hp as well as over 3200 armor

they suck in duels!

go ahead and pick any build besides condi and fight any good thief/Mesmer/dps guards (they are insane compared to warrior)/necro.. engi/ and even ele.

ow yeah ranger is not that hard.. besides that warrior does suck in real duels vs GOOD players, not average or newbies. go and look on the 1vs1 servers and see they suck. some warriors can go good with ofc hambow or condi builds, but any other build just sucks..

look at GS:
rooted kitten burst.. clunky rush. terrible F1

Axe:
nice damage, what does it more? nothing .. axe off hand is terrible

sword:
hybrid but its lacking some real damage if you play zerker. only final thrust hits hard but good luck trying to hit that in duel. lol

rifle:
nice damage but terrible in duel..

mace:
slow.. so terrible slow, offhand is terrible

and we have ofc hammer and longbow.
both are good weapon but gets soooo much nerfs after nerfs after nerfs and anet doesn’t give anything back on other weapons or anything.

Fix Gs so it issnt a rooted 100b.. like guardian, and do something about F1 and rush

Fix Axe > give evi more range > move damage more at the beginning of the chain, axe off hand… just remove it from the game. look at skill 4… really!??!? 3sec fury and low damage.. ?!? that’s it!?!

Fix mace > give it some form of cripple or anything.. way to hard to land a single skill with that weapon, off hand is terrible.. 4 stacks of vuln!?! that’s a skill?? really? maby give tremor a cripple.

Fix sword > give it more raw damage on the last hit of the chain, its just does way to low damage. make final thrust less clunky

Fix rifle > no idea.. its just a terrible weapon in duels. does nothing more than damage..

look at the weapon skills from thief or mesmers or guardian etc.. shadowsteb > blind > teleport > pull > etc etc.. so much more to bring into a duel compared to warrior doing 1 thing damage.. landing your damage? haha that’s your problem

Axe builds fury the fastest and has the mother of burst damage and auto attack damage

rifle has a knockback a masive vuln shot and maive burst as well as the multi shot wich hits almost as hard

sword has ridiculou bleed and torment stacking as well as decent damage maive damage is you pull the blade before it poofs after stacking torment and hit #3 when target is low on hp in other words a great weapon for dueling as it brings all the control you need thanks to cripple and torment as well as the burst immob

use greatsword with the immob on cripple trait and bam land them 100bs like its nothing

learn your class before accusing its mechanics at being broken

dont go full glass either Cleansing Ire easily makes warroir one of if not the best class against conditions

yes they are! they may be good in teamed play, but in duels they are just bad.

go ahead and say warrior have OP healing and OP skills like endure pain etc etc bla bla bla.. but there weapon skills are just so kitten easy to read and there damage is lame compared to dps guards or any thief.. other classes have so much ways to get out for free and instant or easy to land burst skills/rotations, where are left with nerfs and nerfs and nerfs just because they are GOD vs ALL noobs/newbies but sadly terrible agains ANY good player in duels.

honestly i dont know what you’re talking about if anything i aint lost a single duel ever since i went from engi to warrior

Boon Duration+(maybe as it would completely lack offense) maybe 20-30% on full set ) unlike conditions most boons are short lasting or not as impactful as conditions currently only long lasting boon are might swiftness wich i nearly unnecesary cuz of traits of signets granting passive speed boost and regen wich is pretty bad if you got no healing power at all
