i say this is hipocresy the gem armor doesnt even have stats therefore is optional why all the hissy fits ?

people overlook skills have their own power scaling so 200 power is easily an 800 damage gain for some if power was thast irrelevant people wouldnt use Bloodlust sigil wich is currently one of the most sought in game and grants guess what 200 power points (250max) so i’d say 200 points is not the small deal some say
i dint really ask specifically for siege buff but if anything i think siege needs iron hide and maybe 30-50% resistance to AoE
as it stands roles are inverted and players are moving siege units rather than actual infantry units the idea of wvw was for players to use their own skills as support while siege was deployed wich then did the offenssive or defensive play
Could we get siege looked at and maybe worked on
i think player AoE skills harm world vs world alltogether
defending is pretty useless in so many scenarios simply because the other team has a wall of elementalists necros rangers hugging the wall and blasting meteor rains arrow rains and marks and wells wich not only prevents building siege but also destroy it
also kills anyone trying to defend even if they stand on the back side of the wall due to the massive radiuses wich again renders defensive play null
sure its fun having zerg vs zerg clashes
but theres no room for tactical or smart play
wvw would be so much more immersive and impressive if players had to actually use sieges to counter siege play

This statement seriously worries me because it begs the question: How strong would a set of gear have to be to warrant it as being ‘necessary’? Would a set of gear about 5% stronger than ascended be just as unneeded?
It’s these ‘grey area’ conclusions that make me seriously doubt that the vertical progression is going to stop with ascended – and having open-world, zerg based gameplay can give them plenty more wiggle room to continue the VP.
got a solid point there hearing how there might be legendary armor comin up i bet that ll be 5% more than ascended wich then will leave what a 15% points diference over exotic? doesnt seem much but then we look at green and blue geared players and well they simply wont be a match having a 30-70% point disadvantage people overlook that gear also have points besides the usual stats like armor having Armor ontop of toughness or power or whatever 3 stats it has

Black powder field
Thieves use heartseeker out of it to gain stealth. AOE that kitten. Swing/attack around that kitten without stepping into it.Stealth heal.
AOE that kitten. Swing/attack the area. He is already low on health or wants to escape when it’s used. Be aggressive.Shadow Refuge.
Push/Fear the thief out of that kitten. Swing/attack/aoe the area.Instant Stealth Abilities/Traits
CC the area AOE that kitten, swing etc.If there is a thief on the other team and you are getting focused, keep an eye on him. If you get to about half health thats when we love to strike. Just have what you can ready to defend or get out of a surprise backstab.
Don’t forget. You cannot cap/hold points with stealth. You have very few seconds to really stay in stealth unless you use blind powder perma steath in which case AOE that kitten. Especially if you see it against a wall they are there spamming 2.
I wrote this quick so it’s not in detail but it’s simple. I just see people crying about it. If anything thieves would probably have the most to cry about against other thieves and stealth. As its pretty much whoever gets the jump on the other that usually wins in a 1v1 with glassy thief.
i’d like this instant cast+instant land super 3000 range radius AoE cripple+immob+stun+knock+insta kill that ignore blind skillss where do i get them?
shadow refuge is the only counterable stealth skill pretty much if you manage to push the thief out

heres the thing even if turrets had the survivability of a bunker warrior with guardian heals and regens they would lack any actual threat and damage the only turret posing a minimal threat for targets would be Net turret in pvp wich is getting nerfed soon so yeah.. tough luck
turrets are only good against bunker players since they deal fixed damage
out of that they are utterly useless since they dont even target world bosses
they sure would be a huge aid against field bosses since they deal fixed damage
powermancer on serker is crazy drop 2 wells switch to shroud with grandmaster trait Bam 100%+ crit rate any target in both wells will lose 4k+ damage per second while your auto will hit for 3.6-4.5k damage as well im surprised there aint more power mancers

It’s meaningless because 50 power amounts to no real world gain. Especially vs an opponent with high armor rating. 250 power yes 50 power no. 50 power is less than 1% 50 power is like .1% in real world.
Comparing that to an advantage would be like Comparing a 150HP honda Civic to a 151 HP honda civic then saying the Honda civic with 1 more HP has a clear advantage in a Drag race from 0-100. When the race will be determined by the drivers not the car.
your example was bad as it shows the honda with better gear would win example better aerodynamic body+ spoilers and vents and such carbon fiber parts and customized transmission and better grip wheels
so even if the non geared car had a 20 horsepower advantage the other would win due to it being better equipped and more lightweight
back on numbers though 50 power is huge on some skills because you’re forgetting some skilsl have damage scaling multipliers of 2-4 wich makes that 50 points a 100-400 points gain wich then becomes an extra 400-1600 damage on full dps build+gear on said skills like killshot
might ve missed some numbers so yeh valuess aint accurate point is some skilsl scale ridiculously well with power/Attack )

Yes the stats do matter. They offer a 5-15% damage increase. That is a HUGE amount of damage when everything in this game is a dps race.
If you don’t think that much damage matters then please don’t show up to the wurm event or any timed event that is introduced from this point forward.

i said to myself maybe thieves are skilled and im bad but guess what i made a thief myself and went to wvw and most fights ended by hitting 2 keys F1 and 1 in some cases it was F1+1+2 and since i play asura i used my racial 3 seconds of daze ontop of the stun so enemies could Not stop the heartseek finish

i hate when the mob starts super regenerating while sill attacking me rather than going back to its original position and this is what op means it happens at random probably when mob is pulled out of the leash range but the mob does not decide to cancel combat and withdraw and just keeps fighting .
with the current state of the game i thnk flamethrower would actually serve a role if it had its old 50% movement speed drop but gain perma stability allowing engineers to counter cc spamming classes in wvw as it stands flamethrower is just ridiculously lackluster having a 3 target cap and half rifle dps it sorta needs its own build wich is not really all that efective as it requires traiting in firearms explosives and alchemy for damage pretty much

Even with 3k condition damage Burning doesn’t even get close to 2000 per tick. Poison doesn’t get anywhere near that amount either.
Not to say condition damage isn’t crazy, but you went a little overboard here
i run 2000 condi damage without might but yes i did miss the burningand poison damage however other than that the rest where not too far off from the damage i get burning is till over 1k per second and poison is about 200
however get some might goin on and this numbers escalate oscenely might does add 875 power and condi at 25 stacks

Since Direct damage is being weakened what about condition damage i cant help but notice more and more condition build runners in wvw and honestly i cant blame them other than ocasional cleanses there is no counter nor way to mitigate damage from them how are conditions gonna be balanced ? good start would be making immobilize no longer stack i suppose

- Normalize stats.
- Slightly reduce direct damage power.

after trying Dire on my engineer all i can say is i never expected to destroy a mesmer and necro with 7 skills simply put that was under 10 seconds 2.3k damage per second on bleeds 2k on burns 2500 per action thanks to 14 confusion stacks(dont even have perplexity runes)
no one’s gonna change sets because the damage drop is only 10% crit simply put if an attack hit 6000 damage the attack only loses 300-500 damage
so stop overreacting for 10% crit nerf

as its been stated before people are exxagerating no one will use the power/prec/healing gear (maybe guardians?)
it does cost more than the previous gathering gear for its one benefit wich is gaining sprockets wich are near worthless as it stands
and its not like its a 50% chance to get 1 sprocket per ore mined either
heck if gem mining picks should have bonuses proper bonus should be 5-10-20% chance of extra ore anyways lol

Too many roamers in WvW now days are engineers. You can’t throw a stone without hitting 2 of them cause they’re so incredibly FOTM right now for roaming and dueling.
med kit -1 condition removal and its a drop to ground and pick u p elixir with a 1s cast time
healing turret- the most reliable condi removal and only cleanses 2 condies
elixir C-hardly anyone uses since engies really rely on their utilities reason no one uses it is because of mesmers and necros being able to strip all boons and turn them into conditions and still its on a 40s cd whereas eles kept losing conditions passively
in the case of elementalists they had full access to utilities because all their cleanses came from simply attuning to diferent elements and healing with water element ontop of their current regens
i main engineer and i also play an elementalist the class got hit solid but thats no reason to drag the next underperforming class and destroy it why not complain about thieves necros and warriors like others -.- specially now that the new meta is Condi builds with Dire gear

So Anet did away with the ridiculously OP DD ele. They could do massive damage, heal to full in no time, stack ridiculous conditions, and keep conditions off all with a single build. They were the bane of 1v1 and small group skirmishes. I’m sure every single Engineer in these forums would agree that DD eles needed a nerf back when they were crazy OP. Cheers to you for nerfing them
Now with that being said….why would you go and give all those exact same abilities to engineers. Kit engineers are the new DD ele, and are in need of a serious nerf. Thanks Anet in advance for balancing this ridiculously OP class.
i wanna see this 30/30/30/30/30 build of yours
engineers still dont have near the same mobility as a dd ele and eles were nerfed because they were able to have up to 8 boons stacking up with 100% uptime
might stability vigor protection regen the extra regen from minor trait swiftness then they had the auras and near infinite range RTL on short cd
thats the only thing keeping me form playing elementalist more because i know when i hit level 80 all i ll do is go to wvw and simply spam meteor and lava font on zergs
i mainly run it to level my new characters but some people do have a point new player immersion is broken when all the game’s challenge is ripped apart by zerg
i remember as new player the game was thrilling because sometimes i would stumble upon a chaotic beast or random champion while i was exploring and i would have to use the best of my skill back then to stay alive and run and try not fail events at times

How does this really affect new players negatively other than ragers getting mad and swearing when a champ dies before train arrives
1) new players will not have the skill nor know how or what a champ is to begin with
2)even if they had the skill they wouldnt be able to solo it with default low level skills and utility by that level they ll have at most 1-2 utilities
3)infact said train actually benefits new players if they decide to tag along they get Experience Karma Coins Gear Free inventory bags Crafting materials Achievement Points Skill Point Scrolls

Kinda played with naded and idk wasnt a huge fan mostly due to my bindings probably, but it just felt strained to use and still move in combat.

bombs is good for aoe on the run
grenades is more of a support weapon if you got team mates locking enemies for you their damage is no joke though great thing of grenades is they benefit from both power and condi damage so on a pure condi build you can have 15-20 bleeds burning 15-20 vuln poison at almost 100% uptime
if eles had weapon swap
so far the only draw back in eles is that if i go roam i need daggers for those mobile classes but if i want range i need scepter for single target or staff if theres a big fight
so my question is how would eles having weapon swap affect the game?
So when the OP is trolling people with his condi bunker build that’s ok? His build has a lack of counter’s and can be considered just as lame.
condition is definetly another broken stat specially if you run like me with 2500 condi damage
but again the problem is not thieves its damage scaling on some skills its so high it will hit for nearly if not over 10k each time and some classes having too low base health
while some classes like warrior have the premium package health+armor+massive damage on low cooldown
If the problem lies in pistol offhand permastealth and blind, why is the OP asking for a stab damage nerf?
Stab isn’t even the biggest nuke skill in the game lol.
As a D/D ele and a D/D backstab thief player, I can assure you this is l2p. While I openly admit D/D ele is not exactly in the best place at the moment mostly due to conflicting concept design on ANet’s part, backstab is NOT the problem, seeing as Eviscerate, Headshot, and even a longbow ranger playing properly hit for better burst.
And as an ele, the amount of AOE you have, on top of mist form, should be able to effectively counterplay anything the thief throws at you.
My point wasn’t the damage itself, but the frequency it can be applied. Put Elementalist Fire Grab on a 4 second cooldown and see how many people complain…
Why are you letting a thief just chain c&d->backstab (or whatever) on you?
Ele =/= thief. If ele misses that fire grab he/she doesn’t have half their skills go on cooldown.
thats what D/P thieves are for wont touch em if you’re blind and they stealth 80% of the combat as for cooldown initiative has quite a fast regen vs the usual 20-40s cooldown hard hitting skills have on some classes or weapon sets
meh the usual problems
toughness doesnt help much in this game and thieves are pretty much uncounterable almost
sure they dont get too much toughness if they are glass cannons but as the OP stated they dont even need it beacuse they are stealthed 80% of the combat and if not stealthed they are blind spamming you to hell until they stealth so you cant really hit a thief with actual skill
bunker builds wont help much because they got poison on auto attack pretty much
long story short its not so much an Armor issue its some attacks having ridiculous power scalings of 3.0-5.0 and barely any cooldown such kitten 100b ,BS, Smite whereas the usual hard hitting attacks on most classes only have around 1.2 to 1.6 and 15-30s cooldown
