When I first heard of WvW before game release, I imagined entire PvE map turning into a battlefield with kind of an EvE Online control feel.
Boy I was wrong.
We got 2 small maps.
1 of those maps just being copied and pasted 3 times with nearly every structure being a knockoff of ones found in PvE.
If you’re going to knockoff at least do it right. Add some new designs and make Black Citadel etc into server fortresses.

I honestly don’t understand why ascended items haven’t been added to WvW yet. I don’t mind if they are even rare drops from loot bags. The best WvW has got is armor of ever type of build, but trinkets are missing for all except soldier. Skins of fine and masterpiece rarity were added. Just one exclusive WvW skin while each dungeon has a skin of it’s own.

Traps are great for small man roaming teams.
I mean. Me by myself just stopped an entire zerg. I slapped a supply trap down infront of a gate. The dumb zerg ran at it to build rams.
Boom. Half supply.
I grab 10 more from the tower jump down in the middle of their now backed off zerg.
Stability and other boons.
Build trap.
Boom.
Sorry dudes did you want to build siege?
After that they gave up and ran away.
Stealth trap on the otherhand is a meh.
Only way I can find to use it is to place it down, sit in it and wait for a glass cannon copy paste thief to try and gank me.
They realize they’ve been duped and quickly back peddle as I full retaliation tank them.
Other than that I haven’t seen it used often.
I think I may be the only dude to use it on my server nearly every fight just to troll.
All dem badges are disappearing fast.

Any DDLG who I’ve 1vs1’d with has been a long. Yes. 10 minute long fight and has always been courteous in winning and losing. I also look forward in seeing you guys on the field.

I’ve been reading thru the different forums trying to get opinions on the best ‘support’ type class. I currently have an 80 warrior that I leveled thru PvE almost exclusively. A RL buddy has really been into WvW and sPvP lately. I’ve tried several times, but it doesn’t seem to be “clicking” pvp-wise for me with the warrior.
I know GW2 doesn’t have the ‘trinity’ roles like other MMO’s, but I’m thinking Guardian might be the closest thing. (as far as providing off-heals and buffs to the group) I’m not looking for the “lone-wolf” style of playing, I want to help the group in any way I can. Does this sound like the right path? Or should I try to make some sort of a “support-esque” build for my warrior (if there even is one?)

There were like 5-10 DDLG members in EB and our TS was empty. DRev just started they have like 5 people total in their guild. You took the actions of 1 commander and blamed a whole server?
I take the actions of one commander and pointed out the obvious.
I hold nothing against DR as a server since their majority players don’t stand up for it, nor do their strong WvW guilds.
But they won’t stand up for it if they don’t know its happening.
Hence the reason why I asked what you guys on the forums thought of it and now you know that its a thing.
Even when there was more than one commander involved I can’t ask for more.
Players aren’t stupid. Disreputable commanders aren’t followed when they pull low tricks like these.

Did you miss the part where I said it was a one time thing? I wasn’t there but when I did show up we were inside of your keep. GoM could’ve backcapped us at anytime and I’m going to assume they were going to. I’m only defensive because you mentioned my guild member Prizzmo and my friend from DRev.

Wexp is based on how long the person has been alive. Should you kill someone who hasn’t died in WvW in a long time they will be worth a good 60 Wexp, but should you kill someone who has died very recently, you’ll only get about 4-7 Wexp. In order for it to match capping a tower, if depends on how long these people that you’ve killed had been alive before then.
At a minimum Wexp gain per kill, you’d need a 19 man zerg to match a tower capture, and of course kill them all, meaning none were able to flee and get away.
Erm can’t tell if you’re agreeing with me or not.
You would get 1-7Wexp if you were spawn camping the server.
The gain of the Exp over time is very rapid. Even running back from a waypoint to maybe the next keep or 3rd tower away you’ll have generated 20Wexp.
If you flip a camp or two you’ll easily be +40Wexp.
Which is now back to the scale of 2 people > a tier 3 tower.
Then take into account an entire zerg can scamper around a map without a wipe for hours.
Everyclass has a mass AoE.
remove 10% dmg from all targets = kill reward.
Which gives you level 150 in no time during primetimes with a good WvW zerg guild.
And probably a Superior Arrowcart.

Because we may end up going up a server, then get roflstomped hard back down into this one? By the end of our short stay in T4 we’ll have learned quite a few more tactics, and have probably learned that we need more to stay in T4. It’ll only encourage us to think up more strategy and to manage our troops better. You’d be surprised how getting stomped hard in a higher tier can teach a server.
The thing that separates the tiers is coverage and numbers. You play on a low tier and then check out the top tiers, thats basically all you’ll see different.
By now commanders should have soaked up all the tactics they need, only new commanders will be learning new stuff. And even then top tier commanders don’t stay in top tier.
I mean really. Its two maps. Even with new AC range changing a few siege spots its hardly new dynamic stuff and if you haven’t learnt the tricks and how they’re countered after 8months?..

So if some members from guild Y picked up some dudes from guild X and their best friend from guild Z, that would indeed be a PUG. However, if these dudes then frequently starts running together, they would no longer be a PUG.

It’s in reply to Chester saying that SPCA/XOXO/tM are a PUG. Yeah, a PUG that runs together consistently for weeks on end. Strange PUG, that is.
Guilds designed to small man or solo roam aren’t pugs.
The definition of a pug is a bad player usually used towards a PvE’er who has managed to wander into WvW and has no idea what he/shes doing.
You wrote a long message for a simple definition.
NSP also has a community voip.
They can all talk on it if they wish.

On another note, I’m not sure what that char tA thief was laughing over me for after he tried repeatedly to kill me only to run away like crazy as I crushed him over and over again and finally got downed when I got caught from behind by a hundred blades warrior. Well, I suppose someone has to boost their ego while doing nothing more than be annoying.

I was attacked in the JP, be it of all places by some backstab copy paste GoM thief (the guild).
You must know the sort.
After he failed at killing my full bunker retaliation guardian several times, simply because he was a glass noob, he then did something much worse than what happened to you. Tried to add me to party.
I thought this guy was going to be like GG well played.
But he went mental. Like total hardcore mode “ur mommas so fat.”
I can’t describe how much I laughed my kitten off at how hard this dude was trying to make me feel bad.
Moral of the story.
Lots of thieves play their class so they can get an easy kill.

Agreed Tier 7. NSP is the best tier and server for all.
Occasional zergs with specialized small man roam teams around the clock as well as community voips in a variety of programs available for your entire guild.
Oh and did I mention no queues?

T8 is where all the nasty small man roam teams are from what I’ve heard.
You could say “hardcore” because they take themselves so seriously, but there is “oh yeh we like to win when we can” to just aggressive “we’re better than everyone”.
If you want a pleasant environment to WvW in. Tier 7 is your answer.
If you want a server with good small man teams which work in conjunction with a commander in between doing their own thing and are also very pleasant to talk to. Join NSP.

NSP doesn’t need server hoppers.
But I can see atleast 4 bandwagon server posting here being like, “omg itz lik so funsies on r serverz” that it kind of makes me a bit sick. So here it goes

The lower in tiers you go the less ZOMG zerg zerg zerg it gets. Other than its basically the same as the other tiers.
So if a large guild joins says t7. You can basically take a map and win the week by yourself.
I mean its not that easy. We still field 40 and even 60 man zergs when we talk with our friends/alliance.
But you get to stick a lil flag in that borderland and everyone on that map gets subjected to your recruitment. Meaning win win.
NSP is a PvE server.
It has a core of WvW players who’ve been so badly stripped of everything that they’ll never leave.
And most importantly of all.
No server drama. They all bandwagoned off and their guilds then died.
NSP is the motherland. More often than not peeps enjoying playing us, simply because yes, we’re outnumbered. But oh, do our commanders love to zerg break.

I WvW daily for about 5 hours atleast (max 12hrs) and thats 100% of my time.
Currently in tier7.
Why?
My guild is hardcore, from playing in higher tiers I’d say it could compete with the T2 WvW guild servers. And thats not me being a noob, we put out similar numbers on reset all trained players.
We also have no queues and commanders get real server recognition when they are actually good (that and you don’t come up to single tower and have 30 AC’s just raining down fire on you).
Sure there are a handful of bad commanders who wander into WvW from PvE who think they’re good. But atleast I don’t have much conflict from other actual WvW Commanders, simply because there aren’t many.
Why be 1/20 of the best on a top tier server when you can have an entire timezone to yourself on a lower tier?
Yeh its an interesting change of play down here, I actually think its more difficult since you can’t rely on sheer mass.
