Use a pet build with bleed conditions.
I hate fighting pets and guardians fail vs conditions.

Retaliation is just obvious. Don’t use a longbow is massive barrage is the simple answer.

Well as we were taking NSP Hills this morning there happened to be bridge construction going on with no signs posted about holes. As I was only moments away from the Lord’s room I fell in one of these holes. I stayed to warn the NSPers of these holes when they took over but they murdered me instead.

I imagine you were both calling me a wuss or something but if you’re telling me I should NOT stealth like crazy vs two excellent players who hit hard as nuts….well I thought of it as playing smart . What you are QQ’ing about is that you want to hit all 5 people with just your 1 skill and not have anything done back to you.

You just want to mindlessly sit in AoE with Retaliation and be rewarded with the free damage for it. We know.

Its basically the only damage my character does.

And by the way, Retaliation was only nerfed by 33%, not 50%.

The amount of application of Retaliation far exceeds Boon Removal. Against a group composed of 20-30% Guardians, you can have Retaliation up 100% of the time.

The most reliably form of Boon Removal is Mesmer Null Field and Necromancer Wells. However, these will only strip 1 Boon every second, and require the enemy to stand in the (comparatively) small AoE (240 Radius); the application of Retaliation (and Boons in general) is usually with Shouts, which have a range of 600+. (Some are 900/1200) And this is to remove a Boon, not Retaliation necessarily. (There are other Boons in the game)

You say you know what the developers intended with Retaliation. Are you saying that Retaliation was intended to stay up indefinitely? Retaliation was meant to be something a character used reactively, and have a short duration so waiting it out is actually an option. In WvW, with all of the extra Boon Duration from being in a PvE environment, this simply does not happen.

There’s a reason posts about Retaliation keep popping up. Before, it was the silent killer since it did not provide clear feedback to the player of when it was doing damage to them. With the new Retaliation graphic, it has been exposed for how frequently zergs get free damage from one boon.

There was no exact figures given out by anet, by player testing its 33% ~ 50% in WvW and sPvP.

You would need a group of atleast 50% guardians running boon duration retaliation builds which involves quite a fair bit of traiting and even then that won’t guarantee you 100% uptime due to the 5 man limit not distinguishing between people who already have retaliation as well as being within range, and no, there are no retaliation shouts of even close to 1200 range.

ie. everyone would have to be stacked upon each other every 6 seconds to pop off a retal skill as the duration was nerfed ages back to 5 stacks.
(Yes you could have everyone stacked and do it all at once but some peeps would get a ton and others wouldn’t, and then boon strip would wipe out the whole thing at once and reapplication is one of the main points of anti-retal). But put it into perspective, you run 50% AoE boon strip players in the other zerg, the cool down for every retaliation skill is like 40seconds, when they’re gone in the first 10seconds everyone will get rolled (because like I said, its my only damage).

Fighting a single guardian speced into it in 1vs1? Just wait for it to evaporate or pile conditions on him. Everyone knows guardians are like potatoes in a blender when faced against conditions not to mention Necros are OP.

Where do I get my facts from? 8months WvW with 1500 hours clocked on my single Guardian character.

Oh and lets see what else we can’t do.

Dont know when singlemalt or blaze play… but when im on typically Os and phoenix battlion or both are leading a zerg into DR and I rarely see red in Gom… plus lotta DR folk got mad after we started a hard push on GOM Saturday I think it was and NSP lead a massive zerg into our BL flipping most of it.

I dont think its about securing second as much as … well people wanted to hit you back for that.

Oh and for the record I can count on 1 hand if you chop off 5 fingers the number of times Ive gone to NSP since this matchup began.

Night crew in EB usually fights GoM since they’re the only ones actually awake.
But as you probably know GoM’s bl is broken, I’ve tried playing on it a couple of times and its near impossible to command.
So when we have our map we can only funnel into two, EB and DR bl.
Nothing personnel.

If you’re that ashamed of it, why do you do it? The picture is nonsense because it fails to show that DR supposedly had equal numbers on that map (or that you even succeeded). Whenever a conversation about PvD spouts up, your name is always mentioned.

Yerp. I usually work with pugs and when I get lucky a few Os (nightcrew).
I’m not ashamed of PvDoor, its perfectly good business. Hah, its just that there are 2 types of PvD. One where there is literally no enemy online, and another were you’ve used split groups to disorientate an enemy which has a perfectly good sized zerg, so that you can PvDoor.

The picture proves the exact point I was trying to make. That is an enemy borderland where they are supposed to have the most players on par normal. I thought that was pretty obvious tbh. I’d have to fraps it to fully prove anything, and I didn’t.. so.. haters gunna hate? I don’t even think thats DR’s. I’d have to flick through my SS file to find what match up it is.
We just ran around punching doors until we got to the north of the map, everyone way pointed and we rushed upto hills.

Pretty standard way to get an outer down and half an inner before they start defending.

Reasoning behind it?
When a commander calls all his dudes to WP and rush to a tower with swords to find no one at it, most of the people are like :|
Then they rush to another location, the zerg is like :| with no enemy
What about another time on another side of the map? With nubs shouting that the enemy zerg is at such and such gate. They start rushing there.. and… BOOP. Not there.

Commander loses interest of his/her zerg and people will go off and do their own thing. So when the real attack happens its like a slow trickle of people.

Helps more when you’ve got a 5 man team in vent, punching a different tower all at the same time/taking out WP’s. Have you never seen a map where every objectives just turns to white swords at once? Its quite a sight.

Free knowledge for you if you’ve never used it.
Although at this current time I don’t think guerilla style fighting is much needed by GoM or DR, which is why I suppose I’m writing this. Although it does work with mass people like on top tier, except you need 2 or more commanders in vent with you to pull it off and a decently split group with guildies in to assist.

Pretty amusing to orchestrate when everyone does their job. One of the reasons why we were such a pain to SF.

Glad I never check my emails, no phishing for me!
I was hacked near the start of the game and lost everything, from then on I go to My Account and Security to check what IP’s are on my account every now and then.

Originally when I was hacked I was online, and I was logged out, but nothing was taken.
Few weeks later I was online again, logged out, couldn’t get past the character selection screen because I was “logged in from another location”. Jumped on skype and my friends told me I was running between bank and BLT in divinities.
Only thing I could do was just keep changing servers on my account. Slowed the dude down but you can’t do that anymore.

So my advice, is never log out. Eat and sleep at your computer. And if you ever get logged out while playing, just straight onto My Account and Security to deny them.
Oh and my password is now a massive randomly generated code that hopefully China can’t crack.

Tsk, silly ignorant NSP. You only have that keep because of us. You see, after our forces took Ogrewatch, I noticed to my dismay the outmanned icon stuck on one of your comrades.

Realizing that you guys were looking pretty doomed, I decided that the best (albeit especially annoying) thing to do was to… eugh… help… NSP.

Our forces gathered up as best as we could, especially considering that you guys were letting GoM pretty quickly, and ran as fast as we could to Overlook. Our objective? No, no, not backdoor, though it would’ve been nice if we could.

I gave the order that all available DR forces should attack those nine GoM golems at any cost.

My troops followed me beautifully even though it was certainly a suicide mission, and as we ran up that ramp, letting our guys in the rear stomp the confused GoM we killed in the front, we saw our prize, 9 unmanned golems, and the GoM bonking at your keep lord.

I tossed down a ballista, and we hurriedly started beating those shiny mobile suits like they had candy inside, which also had the unfortunate effect of distracting GoM long enough that you guys could fight them off, but still, sacrifices had to be made.

The moment we killed the last golem, I had our forces pull back. Frell, I told them to run away, every man for themselves style, figuring I didn’t really want to be stuck between some rather annoyed GoM and silly NSP, but I happened to be helplessly curious, and gathered up what DR remained near the stairs overlooking the ramp.

We waited until GoM were on the recently repaired gate, they got a ram up, and I had our guys hit them again. We might’ve plonked a few NSP, sure, but we didn’t really have the time to explain our clever ideas, and you were already arrowing us.

After that, I took what little of our original strike force remained, and, well, we circled around and charged up the ramp yet again, just because we disliked GoM that much for taking our keep earlier on. Finally we were all killed off, though not before I took a bow, and jumped off.

Yes, if your forces were even weaker, and if GoM allowed us, I would’ve had our guys take the keep, but my main objective was to kill those golems, and I’m absolutely delighted that our guys managed to pull it off.

It kind of kitten off GoM so that they golemed our keep in retaliation, and here you are, not even thanking us for saving your precious Overlook.

Hitting siege cap is a pretty hard thing to do for an entire map on a low tier. Even harder now because of the despawns actually working. And even harder harder when you have no camps and a sum total of 7 players.

That will happen when the siege cap is hit.

Couldn’t have been. We owned a single tower and that only had 1 ac in it.
No idea where all the siege could have been, other servers siege doesn’t effect each other, they’d have to keep ticking it which I’d say rules out under the map. The problem lasted for several hours when I was online.

Doesn’t it give you a max siege warning too?

No, it’s an increase in stats.

Personally I think that armor and weapons should just be exotics that are “ascended” through the mystic forge. You put a piece of exotic armor or weapon + gemstone/rune/sigil + badges/laurels/karma + skill points = ascended armor or weapon.

Job done.

That’s kind of a problem right there. What if you are on a server than doesn’t have teamwork or commanders that actually care what people need and the server is consistently in last place? Even if you do get a group, how long is it going to take to obtain and given structure? Maybe you get lucky and have no resistance, but usually as soon as that battle marker pops up, here come the enemy zergs to push you out. I’ve seen weeks where one server controls most of every map for days. It’s not as simple as just asking someone to take a point.

No structure in the game is unobtainable.

You can take a fully defended tier 3 SM in 3minutes.
There is no server not capable of it. All it takes is co-ordination.

Do you disbelieve the strength of chain Mesmer portalling 20 golems?
It has been done and is near enough impossible to stop until its too late.

Every server has a main commander. From tier 1 having lots down to tier 8. Theres always atleast one.

I do it all the time. Plenty of peeps ask for it.

I am not good at English so I can’t understand the story of GW2 very clear.

I wish I can appreciate at that story

Here I’ll sum the story up for you.

You’re a fresh new hero in a brand new world.
You save some people.
Everyone is happy.
You meet the Heroes of Destinys Edge. They’re grumpy.
You fight some battle near Lions Arch in a fortresses which is defended by potatoes.
You finally win the battle basically by yourself. You go to claim all glory and..

…A tree known as Treahearne appears out of nowhere and hijacks your story.
Battle after battle you win single handed.
You get no credit.
You’re not the hero of the story.
Treahearne stands at the back and tells you what to do, and then gets all the girls when you finally finish all his demands while you only get 12 silver and some rubbish bit a gear.

Final boss. Etc etc. Get to final fight. You think it will be epic.
Fighting the Dragon which pushed the gods out of the world. A dragon so OP that is can raise the dead and an entire civilization from the sea. Which is vaguely mentioned somewhere. I think I saw it on the GW2 teaser a long time ago.

You press the number 2 for about 5minutes.
Dragon dies.
Treahearne gets all the credit.
You get another 12 silver.
About 10 people clap. Some firework animation. No one really cares. Everyone knows that you only pressed the number 2 to win. They think you’re just some noob who followed Treahearne onto the ship.

What you thought was your lack of the understanding of English to be your downfall in the story is actually just a sucky story.

WvW is war, and as you know all is fair in love and war!

You have to do 20% of the damage to rally/credit
Meaning only 5 peeps at most can rally of one mob.
And thats so unlikely to even happen.

Center of screen would get annoying.

Commanders do need more stuff though.

Easy fix, make the center-of-the-screen text only appear for the commander currently followed (as in, when you’re in the squad of that commander).

Squads aren’t really used.
Because zergs are larger than 30 people.
There is no user interface.
And its highly likely that the pugs won’t join the squad in the first place due to them being dumb/can’t right click join and are lazy.
That and squad chat is bright yellow already.
