I am seeing orange swords quite often from Mag and JQ through roaming maps with zero FA tags present and a dead wvw mapchat. Maybe in the evening FA has a few select ones but very empty. The accusation is that “Mag doesn’t want FA in T2”. I don’t know the validity of that but FA is starting the cliche excuse game.

I do enjoy T3 more on my SBI account, but YB belongs in T2 and FA needs to drop. As long as YB keeps blowing out T3, it’ll most likely happen.

Eh, on the way down the fairweathers on YB found greener PvE pastures or the dreaded real life/other games. Once in t4 they came out in full force; now that HoD and Nsp are delinked from SoS/SBI the fairweathers are still pretty active in t3 (mostly populating EB and doing poorly in fights).

I think FA would be fine if they did go down, as they have a pretty stable population of groups. Healthy amounts of more casual players are actually important to the game mode because some of them become more “serious” players who help form the structure of the server. Another benefit of occasionally dropping rank is offloading toxic and bandwagon players/groups.

The major problem with tiers in NA is that there really aren’t off hour players for more than about 2 tiers with average activity levels atm. 3 tiers if people were very active. The mis matched timezone activity leads to lots of complaining and sometimes boring 1v1’s when the mode and scoring is designed for 1v1v1.

Honestly, I think FAs toxic attitude is going to be their downfall. I sometimes think I’m in Mags wvw map chat lol

It’s definitely sad to see the behavior of people and how angry they are towards the most minute details or ripping on players.

I don’t know, NA linkings are pretty good this time. Although I wouldn’t be completely opposed to trying a fifth tier, I don’t think there’s the population for it.

I would say we have five T3 servers. If current T4 is very even and CD was very even with SBI and SoS (they beat SoS in fact) then it stands to reason all five are pretty balanced. (Timezone wise its hard to say though).

Its hard to say YB and FA should switch. Despite the score, the actual match and fighting in T3 is fun. Its more balanced than the score would indicate. And FA is not that far behind in T2 so they may be too strong for T3. And doesn’t FA tend to run more organized guild type play with boonshare and all that crap? We don’t need that in T3.

I’m sorry but it’s a fact that DB bought tons of ppt guilds over the years and worked their way up in the rankings. Kudos, but it’s caught up with them.

The DB server has always reminded me of this quote

The pvers are fat and happy with boon duration. Therefore anet won’t touch it.

It will promote server stacking and karma train. WvWers do it for the glory.

However, the menu is boring. Some pvers to pick off as an appetizer would be nice.

Good thing is once you arrive at the party you have to stay and fight. You’ll have no escape or stealth, just a lot of yoloing and no fear attitude.

No. Anet would just screw it up, players would find some exploit where “ram skills are increased by 400% and speed by 500%”, then the buff would stay on players for some unknown reason and then it’d be another anet wvw disaster.

Looking at current results YB is definitely a T2 server (although how much of that is k training in dead timezones like YB used to do), probably replacing kitten

reed. There’s entirely too many YB and hopefully they move up to T2 to blob up with Mag to have a lag fiesta.

FA should drop to T3 as they don’t have the numbers to keep up as well. It’s boring as a roamer to go after a camp and have 20 mag show up. Matchup is meh.

The reality is, a year ago, you couldn’t get into a bl because of que, now peak time, theirs no que, not even on EB, why….Anets idea of joining servers together, and creating even more disparity, and unmatched games. gg guys, seriously, stop rolling wvw in cotton wool and make it look pretty, its a sad fact, but after playing for 4 years, wvw looks nothing like it used to, now its just monoblob when you have 3 servers joined together against single servers, no skill required. No point in playing!!

My pve, wvw, whatever guild had 200+ members. Now, 3 actives and I’d say 90% of the guild hasn’t logged in 6 months or greater. It’s disheartening to see that many players just outright quit the game.

Belong to two other guilds, same story non-active for months.

Game is clearly going in the wrong direction. Seems even the pvers have valid concerns in reading their forum posts.

I think a lot of players in gw2 in general get stuck on this particular game mode. As a man who has dated, loved, been broken hearted, found a love again I can tell you Anet isn’t the only cute blonde in town. There’s plenty of fish in the sea, brunettes, red heads, black hair…..that got off tangent.

Ummm, anyway, there’s plenty of games out there and hobbies to start up. Don’t wait on anet to improve this game as they will/are breaking their own necks with poor decision making and following very bad advice or management clearly.

We all love wvw, but at the end of the day please open your eyes and close your wallet. This game mode is failing miserably. We have a company that is following marching orders from who knows. They’ve clearly tossed away their company philosophy, which attracted us to them in the first place with gw1. There’s been a turn in the tide, for the worst and they are clearly following that agenda without turning back.

I like the girls analysis below. She’s a bit giggly because of obvious reasons but she makes some very valid points, some are a bit overboard. Overall, I just enjoyed the video and it was funny. At the same time, it made me sad that players like this are quitting the game. I think the best line in her video “expansions are suppose to bring players in and bring excitement, not drive them away”.

The community just isn’t going to recover IMO in all modes. Anets done too much damage. HoT seemed to break gw2.

What im suggesting is why doesnt ANET do some calculation and how you get rewarded base on participation why not do that for overall score.

Because players can simply transfer to the highest population server to get rewarded for coming in first. That’s why it isn’t done.

That is what was happening for WvW tournaments, players stacked on specific servers to make shure they would end in 1st.

It’s why we can’t have nice things.

All about those pvers and rewards, they are like zombies lol

Vabbi is currently linked with GH – it’s a bit hard to make out who is who but they seem to be really friendly. Don’t know if it matters too much which EU server you try but keep in mind that most of us are currently rather mad because of anets interference into our communities – so there will be bickering here and there, no matter where you go.

Most likely similar to NA and we completely understand

Small groups quit because of crap roaming on DBL/massive player quitting, essential +5 supply guild buff progress being wiped and locked behind guild halls/scribing for thousands of gold with HoT, and the powercreep from the elite specs that absolutely broke small scale to a point where what was once a very diverse way of playing has boiled down to total and complete domination by maybe three or four cheese builds.

ANet systematically killed WvW with HoT and quite frankly, I don’t think they have any intention on fixing it.

I think they are enjoying the gem transfers, but overall I’m sure they loath the wvw topic during meetings. That is if anet is even organized enough to hold meetings.

I think its the pet that needs a little nerf. It seems like you can focus the pet and try to eliminate but then all of sudden the pet ports away and the ranger is good to ago to engage the fight again.

The heart and soul of wvw the small elite guilds all left due to very bad decision making on anets part.

I also believe server identity was a big part of this game. Everyone back then had a chip on their shoulder if they were on x server. Rival servers are no longer a thing and there’s no competition or reason to beat another server. How fun was it to conquer YB knowing they were ppt machines? At the end of the week the community often felt rewarded in a sense for beating a certain server so therefore it built up the community more.

Small zerg busting guilds were highly respected and called on to be the saviors, there’s little left of that and those legendary guilds are not what they use to be because the current state won’t allow them or the hardcore attitude is gone.

The new meta, you will run the boon meta or die. There’s no longer any diversity therefore no guilds can have a certain style of play. This leads to boredom and stagnant play. Guilds leaders/officers want to come up with something creative in wvw, they just can’t do that anymore. If you look back there was some pretty impressive styles of play with guilds.

The game needs to evolve, not be stuck in neutral with the same issues that drag out entirely too long.

Players want to be a part of something, a guild, server, or roaming crew. Anet wants you to be a number and blob up and I’m honestly surprised the 3 faction system hasn’t been implemented.

Rewards over players. Pvers come in do their thing in wvw and leave not caring about their server or the state of it. As far as they are concerned they’d love the game mode to go away because it inconveniences them. I only speak from experience from killing a lonely pver and getting a rage whisper that “I’m just trying to get my dailies, leave me the F alone!”. This appears to be more frequent lately and I don’t pay attention enough to know why.

The game mode is most likely a thorn in anets side but produces some cash flow with server transfers. Other than that, don’t expect much. As long as the players are purchasing gems anet will roll with it. Close the wallets watch the panic mode begin.

- condis are way too overpowered because of hots’s gears ;
- population’s balance is still a mess ;
- desert bl still too large unless you like to run ;
- Boonsharing still not fixed after 1 year.

I gave some credits to the wvw’s team at the beginning, but forced to see they do nothing that could bring wvw back to the downstate.

You make valid points, especially the anet not working at the pace we want. But what anet has to realize is the gaming world is very….very fast paced and they must keep up with the demand of the gamers. Messing around and not having a clear plan results in players getting bored, leaving or reducing gameplay. Let’s face it, once you give up on wvw, you come back and you just are not that interested. They are really dropping the ball here.

I realize a lot of the Camelot and crowfall games are a ways out, but at the end of the day gamers are talking about those games and look forward to them. The more anet neglects the easier it is for us to give those other games a shot and put our $$$ into them.

I play a base necro instead of reaper and find it works better for the things I try to do with it. That said, I use HoT equipment (marauder’s gear) to do it.

Same here with death shroud but I can’t do the whole grinding or pve HoT for gear, I just don’t play that much anymore to show interest.

I think old school condi engi can hang with some classes as well.

Overall, I think the cooldowns are a bit weird with vanilla. As in way too long compared to the new hot ones. They should really take a look at the vanilla skills and adjust them but we all know they won’t to push their expansion and force the issue. Balance lol
