Map chat never had limit,or to be more precise,it didn`t have a limit for the past year or so,in the period of time that I`ve been playing WvW on a daily basis.Also,22 minutes isn`t excessive in PvE neither..I know

That’s weird, when I use to pug tag I’d link the points and the normal stuff in map chat. I’d get flagged pretty quickly but was told by others in game “use team chat, map chat has a limit”.

It’s odd they don’t want to have more tournaments. I would think they’d get the bandwagoners transferring and loading up servers giving them $$$ from gems.
If they are being truthful, it’s nice to see they realize the player burnout and dip post tournament.
Same as Imperdigao, I just play for the fun and in my case acting like an idiot trying to fight a zerg with my minion master for example.
I had the most fun in wvw over the years hanging with friends and just messing around in wvw, but those days are long gone unfortunately due to lots quitting on my friends list so I just like to scout, roam, and siege troll pugs.

I had this happen here and there. I think most were saying it was queue related because I never got xp or a bag when they disappeared.
All I see now thieves, druids and eles die hard builds… and if you harm then to 50% they run away to heal in seconds and come back.
Spot on. I jump on my thief every now and then, spam vault and you can hit for insane numbers each time. Druid, spam 11111111 heal up, 111111111.

FA wants GOOD ppl to fight running though zergs that put up no fight is not fun. That why FA wanted to stay in T2 that is where all the gvg fight guilds are and FA was and still is a major world for this.
GvG guilds in T2… What is this? 2014? Pretty much the last remaining fight guilds are on T1 right now. No one in their right mind would want to be stuck with JQ and DB.
GvG guilds………there is no competition today. The great ones are gone.
We lost half of ebg and soon after our keep when this blockout started happening…. scoring didn’t start back up tilll after the blockout ended but when it did we owned nothing. Loss of points and T3 objectives…..

Eles are balanced, it’s the revs and boonshare mesmers (and maybe even guardians) that need to be reworked.
If you run a pug tag or drive a guild, you’ll understand why a guard need so many boons. You feel like a ping pong ball most of the time.
But on the flip side, the boon meta is sorta getting old and boring. Doesn’t seem to diversify the game. Get a guild, run the boon meta, you’re good to go as a raid guild.
I knew it was bugged again, but last night I was having it hit me while on top of SMC outer wall. And I was far back as I could go from the outer ledge of the top. Luckily out of 25-30 red names with all those Revs, only one was hitting me. So not that many ppl know(knew)about it.
I wish these kinds of threads got made in the bug report forum. Probably gonna be more Hammer Revs around using this….
It still hits for insane damage too. I have to admit, I log onto my rev spamming hammer with full zerker gear. The numbers are pretty nasty
The problem Sylvyn is that it creates too many lopsided matches. JQ and FA can barely deal with T1, and T3 can barely deal with anybody from T2. It’s a huge gap between server pops and skill, and a 1-up/1-down ladder would only highlight that worse.
Best point so far. The tier matches are all blow outs. Shift around all you want anet, it’s not working.

If you get upset at people using swear words, you need to grow a set and get a grip on reality (though I understand if people are dropping the F bomb every second word, that gets tedious).
My 2 cents. I have a 3 year old who sleeps in the room next to the computer room. I usually play when he’s sleeping or almost asleep and it’s mom’s night for the bedtime stories. However, I like to be able to hear when kiddo cries, gets up and starts walking the hallway, etc. so the headphones are not an option. And I’m not about to play most TS chats on my speakers due to the language if wife or kiddo can hear. I got balls – I got ‘em and I’ve put them to good use already so that’s not the answer.
So yeah, different people have different situations. If you’re running a zerg and have a few people not in TS it’s not going to ruin effectiveness under a good comm who pays attention to the map.
p.s. case in point, kiddo just woke up as I typed this. he went back to sleep soon after but yeah, the parents get it
I think that’s the thing a lot of these wannabe red guard players don’t understand who are in college or younger. People that play the game have a life with kids or the amazing verbiage used in TS by a lot of players today that you don’t quite want your fiance or kids to hear.
At the end of the day, it’s just a game. Nothing really matters and not sure why commanders get stressed or demanding like it’s real life.
I was in a recent teamspeak and was reminded on why I don’t get into TS on the FA server. Guild drama and two leaders arguing and accusing each other of this and that. I just don’t understand to be honest and don’t care to.
It’s the toxicity that turns players off to teamspeak in my opinion. Very few guilds can pull off a positive vibe in teamspeak in my experience transferring and experiencing several servers. Those toxic serious guilds tend to fade away very easy and the ones that are more on the positive note seem to hang around longer in the game.

I gave it a go on my celestial gear with PTV weapons/trinks and I feel like a machine. I even tagged up cause on my server we are always outnumbered, figured that be a good test of the gear. Just gotta get the feel for guard and pug tagging again, that’s a whole another conversation lol
I think the skill needs a buff and the range should be increased to trebuchet range, would save us the cost of trebuchet blueprints. Plus if we are able to hit the lord from outside with it, it would save us the trouble of having to break into structures, all we would need someone inside to cap the ring after.
So maybe they can make warriors be able to punt asurans over walls, I was thinking maybe using wild blow to launch them upwards at a 45 degree angle inside of straight backwards, or maybe if they’re using rampage the number 3 skill in the chain of attack 1 which is an uppercut.
Now if they were to use rampage uppercut, the warrior would have to a char in order to have enough power to punt someone that far, so they would have to lay out a guild banquet table and have the target stand on it before being uppercutted. Guardians of course should also be able to do this with hammer number 4.
That would solve the issue with hitting people through walls with coalescence of ruin, because they wouldn’t need to bother to.

I was in inner keep while a billion man zerg was attacking and thought I’d give tag some time repairing wall. I wasn’t on a ramp or ledge, like fully inner behind wall safe and sound. Didn’t know if it was something knew but it came through the keep wall for sure based on combat log.
I am more disappointed by the lack of ramparts on the desert bl keep walls. :/

Could have been an epic castle and tower land with historical ideas infused. Could have had the fighting wvwers and mixed in some immersive beautiful environment for the pvers. Yeah…could could could.
It looks like the game Doom to me, all barren and boring. At least Doom gave you a shotgun I guess.
Better would be to take a handful over used traits/skills on each class and tone them down a tiny bit and take a handful unused traits/skills and buff them each quarter.
The meta should be telling ANet what needs balancing simply by looking at the top players and what they are and are not using.
And this is how balancing is typically done professionally.
Frequent and iterative tweaks to simply disrupt the meta out of being a rock-solid ideological construct promote healthy gameplay across the board.
Anet seems too disorganized to be that consistent.

Coalescence of ruin is suppose to hit through walls? I know the gate thing was a complaint. They can now blast through a wall if you are repairing or building counter siege inside the tower/keep.
A little annoying when you are trying to defend against a blob.

I think the over issue is that anet doesn’t know it’s history of castles and keeps very well? They most likely are not all nerds like us and read medieval books and watch documentaries on sword fights. Or that’s just me lol
If you look back, there were several engineering ideas incorporated into new castles/keeps built to counter siege and soldiers that got too close for defenders to hit for example. Something that is common in wvw, siege very close to the wall making it difficult for defenders to hit or get too close to the wall, you know what happens.
If you look back around the 12th century, guards use to complain that they couldn’t fire directly beneath them to engineers. Castle engineers started looking into ideas and progressed from wooden sheds cantilevered beyond the wall of the castle with a trap door so archers could fire directly down at enemies without them being at risk.

This idea got later improved into machicolations. Stone structures that were similar to a balcony with fitted holes where archers could lay the arrow storm down on killing everything in sight.

The overall problem with defending is that the blob has the advantage at every turn. Anet needs to put the power into the defenders hands because castles and keeps intention is to be impenetrable. Giving the player resources other than a stupid ac that many eles and mesmers can use pulls on is a ill game design.
They should really incorporate some of the ideas from literally the 12th century. Even back then engineers knew how to come up with creative ideas for counters. I’m sure our well educated devs can with their fancy computers and programmers.

You should be searching for guilds and not server. Guilds determine the fight, server only determine activeness.
Probably best advice so far.
Servers that were once great fight servers are now blobbing servers and doesn’t necessary mean a good fight server. Just means the bandwagon loaded up.
A guild will be a much better experience for you. Check looking for forum.
Like everyone else mentioned, guard is kinda king of commanding. I wear sentinel and PTV mix with my guard and usually the last to die with tag. Seems to hold up very well.
I have seen necromancer commanders with nomad gear on take insane punishment but not sure if that is still a thing.
Trust me, every server except Blackgate can use a link.
Only problem is, when the fairweather population of a server comes out, it drastically impacts population balance.

I was pretty sad to see DB and JQ lose their links. I don’t really understand this linking system, it’s very ANet but just silly. Every 2 months you smash two communities together and then if they do well they’re torn apart. Just seems silly. I could understand if they were dominating t1, but JQ was barely breaking in, and DB hit top ranked, but they were hardly dominating.
I’d like a 3 way fight, but right now that’s not happening.
Probably because anet wants the lower tier players to transfer up to those big servers so they can officially kill the smaller servers without doing any work.

Some of the players in this thread should be asking for more passive defensive buffs because that’s the only thing that will save them from a good player, and most of the time not even that.

Not sure if this is related to the patch, but WvW got really laggy after the patch. My fellow WvWers and I have been getting a 3 second delay on skills with everyone rubberbanding all over the place.
So. Much. Rubberbanding.
It’s making it rather difficult to land hits when you think you’re about to land a skill and then the enemy jumps to an entirely different location. The entire fight. Even when they’re in the downed state, they rubberband.
Players on FA, EB map where saying they were experiencing the lag and rubber banding. I got a tiny bit of it though.

Coming up against Rangers with both my own Ranger and other classes the pets are the easiest thing to avoid. Frankly they’re not much to worry about if you’re aware of them. As for being overpowered… get a grip, they’re not over powered. Like any class with a good person who really knows and can play the class well, they might appear over powered.. but really that’s just because the person they are fighting hasn’t figured out how to fight a Ranger yet.
Some of you really hate this comment.. but seriously.. learn to play against a Ranger and you will see that they’re not all you think they are.
I don’t think they are anything special myself, just a little annoying at times and I can sympathize with the OP. They can give the illusion they are immortal.
Overall, I feel deadlocked with them most of the fight but what really sucks is they swoop away, staff port thing and the smart ones resummon their pet ready to go. I’m a slow fatty necro so it gets a little annoying but honestly that appears to be every roamer now: warrior, thief, mesmer, gaurds, etc but that’s just the roaming world today and somewhat always has been.
I wish necros got a cool new minion or a elite skill where I could morph an enemy into a skeleton since ya know mesmers can signet of humility us, would be kinda cool to morph a rangers pet to attack him

I think this is the best point so far. I’m a nerd and run minion master, just about any class can nuke my minions in a matter of seconds. For some reason a rangers pet can tank forever with multiple boons and whatever else anet rewarded them with. But then the druid just summons the next one.
You can focus the pet all you want, but a staff druid can easily spam 1,1,1 and cause significant damage.
I only whine because I’m bias towards necro and our minions are made of glass it seems no matter what build you run.
They are starting to get that rep for “no thanks” in wvw. The new mesmer lol
I’d like to see the vanilla traits get a full look over. Some of the cool downs are extremely long and need some love.
