Can’t really answer this currently and here’s why, Right now you have BG (most stacked) and Maguuma (stacked but not to BG extent) and then you have TC/FA/YB/SBI/JQ all of which are smaller then Mag and BG. With the current match up it’s almost impossible to see which of the 5 would be the 3rd T1. The T2 match up show YB losing but that’s due to Mag admittedly focusing YB hard so if Mag wasn’t in the picture would they be beating FA ? Who knows. TC and JQ are in the same position , impossible to tell who belongs where when they are facing the monster that is BG.

The top 2 tiers are so fubar right now it’s not even funny. If I had to guess I would say probably JQ will be the third …. Maybe.

If Mag is so stacked how come it is only in tier 2 and not tier 1 up against BG? By the sounds of things those 2 battling it out would be pretty interesting to see

Just tell anet you have friends on BG and you really want to play with them. They’ll ignore the full status and move you onto the server.

What Jim said is true unfortunately and has been verified by a popular individual on BG I hang with, kinda stupid but just the way it is.

Had some on SBIbl, not a whole lot of players on the map a bit ago. Everyone on the map felt the affects or dc’d. Skill lag for 5 seconds or more.

I am on FA and have not seen many friendly folks on in the past few days. A few here and there. But that MAG blob is unreal! However if I had 20 peeps with proper builds and gear that understood open field fights we could easily defeat them or BG.

True that, Mag is massive and I’m a bit disappointed they finally gave into the bandwagon route. Use to be a really fun server to fight. Now just another DB and JQ vanilla server.

I think players mentality forces them to find their zerg.

I commonly try to solo a tower or keep using the advantage of a enemy blob hitting the other enemy’s xyz. In doing this I can pretty much use one sup cata to cause a ton of damage, then I call out to the team channel for help from roamers. You’d be surprised what shows up.

Don’t depend on other commanders, players, roamers, etc. Depend on you and learn builds, classes, and what wvw entails.

Pretty much what XTD said, lowbee levels will get smoked in real wvw. A player who is built for roaming and has experience fighting several classes is probably the most dangerous individual on the map. I think this is where the real reward comes from in wvw, not bags or leveling. Causing chaos and disrupting enemy upgrades is where the fun can be. I think you’re missing a whole new world out there, leveling isn’t that difficult these days as well.

BG just massively overstacked tier 1, and I don’t see how it can be balanced now until the next server re-links. Hell, they might have to link like JQ+Mag just to have some sort of balanced coverage (and TC+SoS+FA for the 3rd tier one server). Actually, that might work, for tier 1 anyway.

Exactly. JQ isn’t as big as BG players like to think. Transfer a guild or two to SBI or TC and the scoring would be quite different IMO in T2.

Not sure what you do about FA and Mag. Link more servers I guess if their destination is T1 for now though some of these smaller servers want left alone. I think it will cause more harm than good. Anet should keep in mind there is still a great core of players who like small scale and have a anti-blobbing mentality.

For the most part, I guess we should stop complaining and wait for the next server links though we all get why we are continually disappointed in anet. At least they are trying I guess….

I don’t think it will ever happen and I sympathize with anet on it. The large guilds and band wagoners will never allow it.

BG is always going to be massive and that server who likes to k-train like no tomorrow to get a massive lead, then they disappear the entire week after a comfortable lead is established with a core of “roaming guilds”<—lol. Then we have JQ, who is pptin their brains out to get to T1 and SBI/TC just can’t keep up with the night/back capping.

I’m also convinced if TC/SBI had a solid nightcrew they’d be hanging with JQ easily. So not sure why people in the forums are pushing so hard for JQ to be matched up with BG. I think the outlook would be different from what they are wishing. BG would just destroy them and they’d be stuck with the same boring lower pop servers.

Anyone complaining about why their server is locked, especially BG players, definitely need perspective in this game. They’ve somehow obtained a delusional reality of the situation like a spoiled child being brought up in a rich family. Not everyone has what you take for granted. Other servers have to actually try. Even now BG is winning yet another match up against paired servers, which is the sort of percentage imbalance the devs pointed out as difficult to balance with the current servers.

Anyone wanting to open/bandwagon onto a stacked server don’t care about anything other than PPT and easy wins. Nobody buys any other excuse so don’t bother. Shame on you for gaming the system for as long as you have and killing the game with such an awful approach.

If all matches were evened out and you won, it would be a solid victory with skill. Instead you chose the imbalanced blobgate or stackedquarry route. You have no right to complain.

I think it has a lot to do with younger kids mentality, even around the college kids now.

Some of us that post in this forum remember the insane gaming days Ghosts N Goblins, NARC, Ninja Gaiden, and who could forget the impossible Friday the 13th. You were challenged, there was no crutch, fellow helper, codes, etc….just the game and your skill to conquer.

Those freaking games turned us into tigers! (AVGN).

Today’s kids are just lazy, want to social game and don’t like challenges IMO. They favor pay to win games, hence why we see so many mmos learning towards this business model. Steam roll the enemy and BIG numbers for large damage with zero patience to use your brain and skills to win.

People made fun of me when I transferred to Kaineng when they were in dead last awhile back. I wanted a challenge of commanding on a dead server to learn how to play with literally zero supply 80% of the time and my biggest zerg was 10. These kids on JQ and BG crying use too many hashtags and want anet to hand them the game.

Started on Kaineng with the good ole days of Ajax Blue and was in BMS guild.

From there in no particular order: FA, YB, Kain, DH, Ebay, AR, BG, SoR, SBI

Second account: AR to SBI.

Out of all the servers old AR was awesome, SBI is currently my favorite though.

Nope, never spent cash to transfer. Always saved up for gold—>gems trade.

Guilds are not forced to stack on these servers, they made those choice while knowing the servers will be full, while knowing they have to compete with other guilds for a limited yet large pool of players in a full servers, while knowing any so-called returned players that were on the previous servers will not be able to rejoin them and so on…….

If guilds made the choice to stack on these servers without considering these factors, then those guilds deserve to die for their bad leaderships.

Spot on, these large guilds crying is sad. Stop stacking and blobbing up. And don’t give that community cliche argument. If your guild is so important to you, why don’t you just leave for a smaller server? There’s plenty of fights on each tier. After all, it’s all about your guild correct?

JQ doesn’t need open as well. That server is just massive and gained plenty of roamers lately. I wouldn’t call the T1 style guilds competitive as some are trying to argue. Seems a small crew of SBI players can wear down a JQ/TC large force easily and drive them off. It is also apparent that most of these large forces/players have spent too much time in the higher tiers, any little resistance and they switch maps to k-train or wipe heavily depending on a spawn vein to feed the zerg who is wiping in the first place.

Makes me sick.

To be honest? I think they are stringing a lot of players along with these false hope wvw polls to get you to keep playing.

There really doesn’t seem to be a concrete plan or future for this mode. They’ll take what they can get at this point, and if that includes giving the illusion they are “doing something” to get gems from transfers, they’ll do it with little effort ever put in the long run.

It’s the new future thinking of devs and gaming companies, milk players as much as you can and put little effort into your art. People wonder why the mmo gaming market is predicted to keep falling over the next few years. It’s companies like anet that are buying into this one shot one kill idea and miss the big picture of having a loyal fan base. Then they sit there and cry about “we don’t know what the players want!” to the point we have to tell them how to do their jobs with examples like polls. They should be the masterminds and creative ones, not us.

Kinda like that idea. Only the sever can obviously vote on their fate and in addition, absolutely no pvers influencing the vote. Many have mentioned this, but wvw rank should come into play. Not sure what the cut off should be though, maybe around bronze rank.

I don’t see what peoples deal is honestly. The linking has done only good things for this game.. Most servers are well balanced population wise besides tier 4, which is mostly because a lot of players in T4 seem to be inconsistent about when they’re playing. It seems like a lot of them are primarily PvE players that take their guilds in to WvW on and off.

Tier 1 to Tier 3 are thriving with this system in my opinion. WvW is active at just about all times on most of those servers.

And as far as “Server Pride” goes, I’m sorry to say but that isn’t a real thing, it is just something to complain about. Have guild pride, its guild wars, not server wars.

Guilds are temporary, servers are forever.

Wish I could find the video, but a veteran live steamer player came back for fun and played his warrior. He basically did nothing, hasn’t practiced roaming in awhile, and was clicking random buttons taking on multiple players at once just laughing at how broken the game has become.

I’ll post if I can find, but it pointed out how OP warrior is and takes zero skill to play.

To add, I think it was evidence of how ridiculous some of these HoT classes/builds are currently. Super healing, toughness, resistance while hitting like a mac truck with little skill needed to master a class along with super speed escapes and now more stealth as I’m seeing with nearly every class. Things that use to be unique to a class now everyone has access to.

The game is becoming very vanilla and less diverse by the update.

Exactly. These polls are meaningless as scoring, servers, and ppt doesn’t matter. It’s wasted effort due to linkings and bandwagoning. There is no reason to put effort into wvw from a player aspect, just blob up, cast your spells, log off….there’s your end game.

Everyone just needs to move on, anet doesn’t seem to have a clear path or work plan. Granted they’ve lost a lot of all stars from anet, but whoever is driving this ship is hitting every coral reef in the bay

There’s no reason really to vote on anything. Servers don’t matter, scoring doesn’t matter, doesn’t affect anything.

Honestly, what’s the point of having scoring systems or even voting? There’s just no point anymore.
