No, you have to gain a rank each time to get the message a new poll is up. No idea if you can just get there from the forums – never tried it.
I usually never get the daily for ranks as I’m still mainly roaming – so it takes me quite a while to get these messages.

not sure how you came to this conclusion but uncheck autoplay and you’ll see latest news on your login and be able to participate in the polls right away when they are live.

I honestly think once you’re down, its over. The stealth res can be annoying, especially when you are winning outnumbered against another roaming crew.

But I could see duelers having an issue with this, maybe introduce duel mode, you lose but never get downed. Or make OS strictly duel mode I guess.

I wouldn’t transfer at this time due to the state of the game. Give it a month or two and I believe we will be in two scenarios: a 3 faction system or three tiers. The DBL will be the cause.

Well it’s not like they are totally ignoring us….. I mean just look at all the threads they locked today. I especially enjoyed them shutting down the “who do you want to be linked with” thread and calling it a match up thread, they are clearly paying attention to what is being discussed lol.

As far as DC’s go my T1 account DC’s a good ten times as much as my T2 account and even on empty bl’s the skill delay is noticeably longer, EB just isn’t even worth playing on. I prefer glassy builds but if you have to wait .5-1.5 seconds for a skill to go off you are pretty much kittened.

I noticed that as well. Conversations and communication between players is locked and killed. I understand the more toxic postings, but the ones recently locked were actually vital information they could gather to give the players what they want in wvw.

How they are acting just isn’t sustainable and intelligent. It’s quite odd and hopefully other future mmos are using this as a learning experience.

I’m honestly surprised about the communication between anet and their players. I wasn’t really a mmo guy till guild wars 2 came along and I got hooked on wvw.

Are all gaming companies like this or is this the norm in the industry? I can’t really believe these big mmos just cash in on players and leave them out to dry, doesn’t seem smart or successful for a long term run. And the last HoT expansion was not a complete product, how is that ok?

I’m starting to see why I stayed away from mmos in the first place about hearing horror stories of failure after failure, just a waste of money.

If anet would hurry up with the scoring change so night capping didn’t carry so hard this could be a competitive match up.

I came across Henry once. It was late, the snow could be described as a lifetime movie xmas special, light and the smell of Swiss miss (or swiss mix as midwesterns call it, not sure why) in the air. Henry stood there, blade blood soaked with a look of satiety on his face after slaughtering many roamers and you tube streamers.

I asked him “when does it end Henry……when does it end, when will justice come to wvw?”. He grinned at me and said “Do you know how many people allow the word no to stop them from greatness?”.

I never saw Henry after that cold December night. I took his words and went out roam the battle lands alone for many more years till I realized………my fiance had a honey do list the size of Texas and I had housework to do.

Think it ultimately depends on what direction you want to go. Fight, ppt, havoc, or kinda a mix tag?

Same as Straegen mentioned, its best to get into TS and listen/follow the commanders that tag up, get a feel for what style suites you and apply it. You also get little hints once in awhile about unknown things in wvw relating to siege placement or how to assign duties to certain classes. Free education pretty much.

You’d be surprised of the different styles. I myself am on ebay and followed an Omen guild female commander who had a very easy going style I wasn’t use to. Usually tags are intense and relating the tone of their voice based on the intensity of the fight. A calm female voice seemed to control people a bit better IMO, it was interesting to follow and not annoying

Us unimportant T4 players are getting it too

It would be nice for them to at least acknowledge it. Even a weekly message updating we’ve seen xyz and will continue to chip away at the issue would be nice. However, given their track record and broken promises not delivering the goods I’m guessing the management is very sensitive to releasing information or what their work plan consist of.

When you do that you cut communication with your player base. The most important artery in the this industry, the paying customer.

If we had a few more roaming crews on Dbay I could really see T4 the place to be. YB and SF have a few small groups of roamers that are fun to fight. A couple more dbay roamers/havoc could make it much more interesting IMO.

My favorite build to run is vanilla condi dire engi. I find its the most safe build and way to run solo wise in wvw, at least for me it works.

Biggest dislike is those boring thiefs that just vault around like a bunny rabbit on speed, I usually just kite them and watch them try to run away with poison and bleed stacks only to find them in downed state. You can’t vault forever

Overall, favorite above all class is necro and will always love any build when roaming.

Pretty bad in EB tonight. 5 second skill lag and sloppy. A lot of players experiencing same issue Dbay server.

I actually don’t mind the chests. The contents typically have decent content for me to salvage or sell so I can fund my transfer if I need to. Cause I ain’t giving these yahoos any cash for gems

The WC change was a good one intentional or not. Defending against catas in that cave was all but impossible against a superior force. Now attackers at least have to work for it.

Langor is very difficult to take when defended. There are several spots inside to defend that back wall.

Love the feeling of getting within 10 yards of the gate inner and having 25 conditions put on you immediately. Defending needs a serious look over, the blobbing and karma train wins no matter what.

Actually, the roaming is pretty fun in T4 right now. Enjoying the duels and small scale things again but who knows how long it will last.

Yes, everyone playing on the same map instance must be playing the same version of the game. There’s no such thing as strictly PvE patches. If WvW servers were not patched and players on them forced to leave immediately after a new version release, no one running the new version would be able to join a map.

I am wondering is it really necessary for wvw players to get kicked out of wvw because of bug repairs relating to pve content? Those annoying ones that say “you’re getting kicked to LA” in 3 minutes…but in reality its like 10 seconds lol.

Wouldn’t a small text in the chat box “new update patch available” suffice and let the user decide when they should leave? Just seems a little silly to kick people out when you have an epic battle going on or good fight when the patches are rarely related to wvw content.

There has been very little if any of that going on. Anyone on SBI who thinks we are winning because superior skill/tactics is lying to themselves. We outnumber SF in every time zone and DH … well I don’t know what to say, I guess sorry that Anets hates you.

I have the lovely luxury of having an ebay and sbi account. SBI has ants….everywhere. There’s no strategy but having more numbers and roamers with several small guilds.

There’s no real chance right now for dbay to keep up with what is going on. One commander with 6-10 pugs versus 3-4 sbi guilds at a time on DHBL is impossible.

Lips are just flapping in the wind when I hear “use better strategy”.

I have say community above all.

Today reminded me what makes wvw special. I hung out with OMEN guild on Dbay for a bit and TS was fun as hell. Even though SBI had much more than us and kept slamming us around, we still had fun and kept thinks positive.

Overall, I’m not sure where this next server linking is going to take us but I am sure that the people here are still putting up a fight and keeping it real

Having players around you have fun with makes the overwhelming wins & loses seem inconsequential (because they are).

As for our SF and DH opponents. Being outnumbered is a pain, we know all to well. Hang in there, it won’t last. Keep being tenacious like this SF ele a couple nights ago that kept coming to SW camp to charge into two of us standing in there. It just kept getting melted over and over again. He/she did this for over an hour. It was surreal.

Too true. I’m still finding a lot of fun despite being horribly steamrolled 90% of the time number-wise (I’m on DH). The game mode is but a way to share stories and frustration with ppl you enjoy being with and we find our victories, however small, where we can..

As an aside I used to be exactly like that ele when I began playing WvW. We sure could use more people who aren’t solely motivated by loot bags and karma but by impossible odds they want to beat anyway.

I like the little nerds who link how many lootbags they got. Reminds me of those guys that put those fart cans on the back of their 1994 honda civic and 2000 dollar rims on a 200 dollar car lol

The days of great large skill groups is definitely over if the current TW is amazing. I suppose a group can only get as good as their competition allows but they would get destroyed by the old school GvG groups. Remember the days of Mag GvG or guilds like Agg? Oh the Golden era what a wonder it was.

What was great about the good ole days was that no matter what server you were on, you had your premier guild or two that could hang with the best. This made wvw diverse and a more fun environment. Now all these “zerg busting” wannabes choose to all pile on one server then complain about no fights. Sounds like they need their crutch fellow guilds these days instead of holding their own.

I’m stuck on one of those servers that shall not be named and I don’t even play enough to warrant paying to move again. The unnecessary kittenhugging and ego trips are entertaining in their own right but it’s created such a lame fighting environment and I had no idea how bad it was lol. I’m pretty sure the bandwagon is going to break down yet again after re-links.

Same here, on ebay and I think about leaving but what’s the use. Anet will just meddle with server linking and screw it up again. Not giving these guys any gem purchases and if I did it would be gold-free gems trade.

Ran into a rev guy today, nothing could touch him. Condi’s were ineffective cleared instantly, no damage taken, constantly blocking everything, evaded like crazy, resistance for geez…idk all day?, constant stability, boons up and running no matter how many times you boon stripped, and oh yeah…..he hit like a mac truck and healed but had teh amazing ability to load up condis on you but ran power food.

I actually just watched him stand in a camp letting a full upgraded camp vets just pound on him, like he knew his build is untouchable never losing below 90% hp lol

Same here. I rarely ever get DC’d or crash. I can’t remember the last time actually till this week where it’s been pretty constant.

I think adding another Tier would be going in reverse. There’s already the issue of having a rounded population in T4, adding another Tier would do more harm then good imo.
