You build is good. But.. :-)
Crucial part of discharge builds is Tool Kit and his Throw Whench. Traited also add nice 5s criple. Magnet and Prybar are nice finishers.
IMO much better then gadgets is Grenade Barrage witch did massive damage and also trigger Static Discharge.
As last skill try Elixir R. Self ress is amazing especialy when you expect burst thief incoming. 4 dodge and synergy with Enduring damage is also great.
Much better runes are of Rage – be sure you have fury from med kit pop up. And also Fire sigil do another dmg.

Ok greanades dps are gone. They are still good in some situation because chill ect but not for dps anymore. Yes you can spam all 5 grenades to increase our output but I think its waste because its simply take time to cast it. Yesterday in Arah path 4 we failing badly on last boss because low dps output (and stupid sparks but its another story). Warrior there with 27k 100b and 4k autoattack just kitten me off whem my nades crit for 700-1000 in Berserk gear and Divinity runes.
So I trying figure out some single target build with highest dps. If I dont miss something rifle autoattack is now only option how to be at least close to dmg of other classes. Tool kit autoattack also do nice dmg but in full offense its suicide come close to some boss.
So this is build what I figure out. Any suggestions how to improve dmg?

I have one place where you can farm 10+ mobs at once without harm if know how to move, but you must be engineer – its underwater:-P I usualy drop there around 150 T6 and 4 stacks of T5 materials in 5 hours. Ofc lots of other drops, rares ect. With MF gear ofc. If you are engi send me pm:-)

And I’m trying to say, this IS a good balance.. How much damage do you get from your auto-attack in a fight? Me personally rotating through bombs/rifle/grenades/heals (as a good engineer SHOULD be doing since switching kits has 0 CD) I probably use it 1-2 times max before switching kits. My grenade auto-attack does 900 damage, so 2 auto-attacks would be reduced by 30% is what 600 damage reduced? Sigil of Air/fire procs for 800-900 damage on a 5 second CD for crits. I might be missing something, but I seriously don’t get what the big fuss is, unless you ONLY use grenade kit then I could see the problem.
Again. You miss the point. You cant argue with kit swaping. All other classes can do similar things. Warrior also has 2 weapons what they can switch right?, Ely has 4 attunements and both dont waste utility slots for them. And what is most important they autoattacks do 4x more dmg than engi while they have usefull movement, stability ect. And ofc they dont need hardly aiming as we must with grenades.
I dont want make engi easier to play hell no. I love how its hard and I enjoy it. I just want see others classes be harder to play then just push 2 buttons.

You guys are noobs. 30% damage reduction from the grenade auto-attack. Do you guys seriously spam the auto-attack that much to even make that much of a difference? I rotate through grenades, bombs, rifle, and heal skills throughout the fights. I do use the grenade autoattack, but not THAT often and I still do pretty well. I don’t see why everyone is crying so much about this.
You missing the point man. Noone who playing engi spam just autoattack. That is a point. We cant if we want do something against other classes no matter if its PvP or PvE. Personaly I am not some top pvp player on the world but I thing I am good enough. I play engi since beta and I have a lots of pvp experience in various games (for example Warhammer Online where I also play engi btw). Yesterday I making pvp daily in hot join no big deal and I met a thief who just spam Heartseeker. Nothing more than that no stealth no no heal no other skill just spam one skill and almost got me (I use bunker build) simple as that.
Point is Anet promise balanced classes its why I bought this game and no I dont reroll to other class. I want play engi. I just dont want play on my keyboard like on piano doin best what I can while some noobish kid pushing one button on his OP class and after die go cry on forum and Anet come with nerf.
I enjoy engi and I will play him no matter what I always found way how to win. But in past Anet promise some things, like they will balance due to their own experiences not on cry topics. And now I see post like “we test it on dummies and it work well” and I am so disappointed.. Sorry for bad english

I will be ok with this nerf if we get something instead of this. Some usable stability for example. Or maybe some rush skills like ely who is also described as “versatile”. Or buffs what we dont need manualy targeted or aiming like other classes. Or skills without rng effects what just make skill useless because you never get effect what you want in certain situation.

Ok we have here 30% dmg nerf because of we “must compensate dmg what come from sigils”. Ok lots of topics about it here.
But here is possible another huge nerf incoming. Where? So we will get contribution stats from weapons sometime in future right? If I will track Anet dmg calculation where 5% dmg sigils must be compesated by 30% dmg reduction.. Weapons has around 25% of total stats if I remember some post right so it must be another 125% dmg nerf incoming! We will heal our enemies with grenades!
Ok guys from Anet end of irony I really want serious answer for this. It this nerf only preparation for incoming weapon stats contribution or we can expect another nerfs.

Hi since today morning I cant create new character. I tried one yesterday and it works fine. Now when I try finish customization and move to intro movie it do nothing and just jump into character select without creating character.

Hi i have some problems since last patch. Issues what I never met before since beta.
- Black screens pop up randomly without any “lag warning” most time in SPvP but in PvE too. (I try settings from topic here but no changes)
- Party and Guild chat laging or dont work entirely. Say chat works fine. Game not laging just chat and sometime pop up error message about login server issues (game not crash) and chat work fine for a while after that message. Relog or re-represent guild dont work too.

Engi is hard to handle compare to other classes. Ppl feel weak when thief with BS can hit around 100 times harder. But engi is fun thats why I playing him. Players what choose classes because they are OP are pathetic.

After long hard work I finish Predator and equip on my lovely Charr female Engi and saw a few thing what broke my legendary feeling a bit.
- Weapon is great. Not so amazing as Greatswords, but projectile and sound are awesome (I know you in Anet are GS lovers and I can deal with it but still..:-P).
- One thing is lack of “massive” weapon especialy on Charr compare to other legendaries. Precursor was so massive and Predator looks too tiny.
- There also arent any nice footsteps, armor changes or other effects like other legendaries. I am so sad about this.
- If Charr stay on flat ground, silencer and also flame animation clip into ground and its major issue for me.
- Without target it shoot into ground.
- Toolbelt skills dont use legendary animation when kits are equiped.
- There are no legendary kits:-( I want pink flame so much:-)
- Engineer with rifle fire all skills from hip. Its look so iritating with sniper rifle like Predator. Warrior has so much better animation.
- Charr (female) running with rifle in hand looks like she has stick in the but:-) There isnt that “cat” acrobatic feeling like with other weapons. When I equip kit, animation slightly change and its look great.
I know it isnt priority but please keep this little things in mind, because it always about them:-)
And one my personal advice from me on the end:-) In RPG games are our avatars a main reason why we playing. You can say no its great content what is important but true is if you dont feel good with you avatar you cant enjoy rest of game as much as it deserve. Things like armor and weapon cliping is exactly one of that thing. Please when you will have a little spare time look on that, many of us will be much more happy:-)

RNG ISNT FUN! I have no idea why developers so love that.
- In my stable fractals group all players has 2-4 ascended rings me nothing at all.
- Also warriors has much better loot then others. I know it cant be logicaly true but it simply is.
- Before Fractals we did with same party TA every day (over 60 full runs over all). One of that warriors drop core or lodestone from every kitten chests every run. I have 3 cores from that 60 runs.
Anet pls rework your loot system and make it fair for all of us with bad luck. Thx.

Just simple question:
I have 2 one hand weapons, 2 different sigils. When I use weapon skills is here chance to proc both sigils on all skills or sigil from main hand can proc only on first 3 skills and offhand only on last 2?

First of all – A BIG thx for Fractals because its just amazing and its not get old even 16 levels later:-)
But here is little problem with making party of ppl with same levels and that gap between players who cant play so many hours as others will be increased over time and it will be frustrated for both sides.
I have some idea how to make this more fun:-)
Players want enter for example at level 20.
- only 3 players of 5 needs at least lvl 20, other members can be lower level.
- after complete run lower players also get increased their current progress by 1
- if there is a significant gap between players (3 has lvl 20 and 2 has lvl 10), lower level players get 2 levels instead one.
- drop for lower players will be in the middle so lvl 10 in lvl 20 gets drop compare to lvl 15.

I had heard that GW2 dungeons were difficult so I put off running them until I got my character to 80.
These dungeons aren’t difficult, they are trash.
Die-rez-die-rez until you win is not a feature or a mechanic, it is a terribly tuned and sloppily designed dungeon.
I am really disappointed at how poorly designed these dungeons are. I am amazed anyone even bothers with them.
We did all explo in all dungs without death. Its in you not in game.

I personaly played RvR in WAR for years every day so I love WvW system but what I missing here is some progress thats all.
I mean some like: capture zones, capture main castle, raid capitol city and defeat king or something like that. Here its only endless pointless switching of capture points.

I am sick about that “its easily counterable”. How kitten you want counter something you didnt see? I am ok with dmg because its that what stealth classes must have. Real problem are that milion stealths. I dont want hear that “its only few seconds” because its not true. When you try with 15 ppl try 10 minutes kill permastealthed thief on point in WvW is something wrong.

Hi I have an idea about armor/weapon skins and transmuting.
Its simple.
- First You will buy and transmute skin by stone as usual for unlock.
- after that skin will be added into some special vendor and will beusable as consumable (same way as HoM skins)
- Best will be some small fee like 5000 karma for each skin or so.

My idea is simple – reward players by some endless achievement (like agent of enthropy) for reporting bots – it take some time select them and click on report you know:-).
It will work simple – player report bot and if that bot will be banned he take point into achievement.

You can put there only upgrades lvl 1 or without level specification. If you want keep that look just transmute it with guild backpack what you can buy in WvW and after that upgrade with lvl 80 gems.

I play all time with full offensive berserk gear with divinity runes in wvw and also in all dungs and its fine. huge dmg and enough survivability. Defensive gear makes engi tootless and keep too squishy.

Sorry for my bad english. I mainly play engineer for most of the time. Now I trying thief just for fun and.. This class is so OP then its not even fun. I agree with dmg its stealth class, its work alike in other games but stealth possibility is simply ridiculous.
Few ideas for balance:
- allow apply fully functional stealth only out of combat
- if stealth will be used in combat it disable weapon skills while invisible – stealth in fight must be only escape mechanic!
- before hit from stealth must thief appear 0.5-1s (or add some “incoming” sound) before hit to get player chance to counter this attack. Now is Backstab uncounterable win win button.
- Show hit dmg if thief get aoe dmg in stealth for better identification of his position.
- All attack actions in stealth MUST remove invisible.
- Disable stealth while thief finishing players – for most of classes its uncounterable.

I just want that amazing build manager from gw1. I expected this epic feature as basic in gw2 and Anet so disappointed me with this. Before when someone sad “guild wars” this was first thing that came to my mind. Now operating with builds and sharing is pain in the .. you now where:-)

In term of combat it isnt so bad but I have on weapons 12% magic find and its a lot if you try maxing it. There is no other profession with this disadvantage.

Here are many ways like farming event with full MF gear (200%+) and sell rares on TP. You usualy get around 10-20 rares in hour and sell one for 15-20s. All white loot just salvage and vendor blue and green. There drops also lots valuable items like dublons. 20g per day isnt problem.
You can also make that precursors from rares/exotics in mystic forge and sell them. I dont try it yet by my friend make usualy 500-1000g per day by this way.

Just stick with GW1 – Large instanced areas with spread tasks like UW, DoA, FoW just for I dont know 15-20 players? Much better then that generic wowish raids.

I have a few ideas how to little split zergs on events in pve and also zergs farming objectives in wvw and get karma without forcing players into events.
Switch XP bonus into karma
XP bonus for killing long living mobs is great idea but XP are at max lvl little worthless because you get it everywhere but karma.. If you change it to karma its lower preasure on Orr events and it much more reward player who love exploring
Karma from mobs
Add karma from simple killing mobs. 1-3 karma will be enough.
Karma from monster type
Like in daily. Add aditional karma reward for kill different monster types in one day. Players will revisit all lower areas and looking for different mobs.
Another karma bonus from events
Again based on daily idea. Players get another karma bonus for every event what they complete that day first time so it will be much more rewarding runing around the world and doing all events on map instead repeating few events in Orr again and again. reward must be around 100% of basic event reward if you want motivate players by this:-)
Karma from Dungeons
Another place where will karma good reward. It can be for example 2k karma for each patch and another 10k if you done all patchs in one day.
Karma from Jumping Puzzles
Noone repeat puzzles because 10-20 minutes of jumping with few white and blue items (if you have luck) at the and is sux. But if you reward players by for example 2k karma every day for completing puzzle it will be great. And that places deserve it!
Karma from crafting
If you have crafting on max lvl you get nothing from craft. Little karma depent on item level and rarity will be also great reward.
Karma from killing players in WvW
Now is almost pointless kill players in WvW. Simple as that. Zers just runing around map in circles and capturing objectives and its now more player vs door. Increase rewards from killed players especialy karma will help split zergs.
