Hotw story final boss. :P
nooo, dont bring him up x_x
He has three phases, the first one has reflectable projectiles, the second one unreflectable projectiles that do kittenloads of confusion and some mesmer gs 1 like skill that does moderate damage. Third phase is full melee where he teleports and kinda oneshots you and all allies close to you with his giant whirl. He did probably bug out then.
He doesnt hit too hard though, the unreflectable projectiles are only in one direction, and dont do confusion from what I recall, the mesmer GS1 attack is the reflectable projectile I talked about, and thats the one that does like 5 stacks of confusion per second. The teleport thing is pretty easy to avoid because once he charges it he wont adjust where he’ll jump so if you just move a bit he’ll miss entirely. the giant whirl is just lame xD it doesnt do a lot of damage and is super easy to avoid as he just whirls all over the place at a slow pace.

Have only 9-man recorded but the difference was miniscule.
dis, rite?
The stupid HotW boss that Sandy just solo’d recently?
His attacks are fast but single target, so a 5 man group has it easy with him
My vote probably goes to the legendary priest with eternity in front of arah.
lol, his gs aa is a reflectable projectile, haviz and I duoed it before very casually

You said it lilith! I mean have people SEEN the prices on linen? It’s ridiculous and the dungeon community is to blame, personally I always kill everything, killing trash is fun on my mesmer because my staff aa bounces between targets to make things go fast <3
Reintroduce natural selection! Kill everything thats weaker than you! do it for linen! Do it for gemstore! Do it for Colin!
That reason is kinda silly … The warrior might thing seems not that correct, I can’t confirm that they can do this, and if they can it definitly requires a long time til they stacked up. Also there aren’t only warriors in a party, at least not in mine o.O
But what I really don’t understand is your last sentence o.o “plus you using a build for reflection and instead of precision go for power”. Wat?
Power still doesn’t affect reflection, so going into domination for a warden reflect build higher than 2 but less than 6 seems wasteful.
That aside, I don’t know everything about it of course xD but phalanx strength seems to have made warriors great might stackers.

No Condi damage no greatswords no spinning wardens no metabuild no popularity left
It really feels like it’s just me who is very anti mesmer. It takes far too long to pump out 3 Swordsmen and they just get killed anyway. They are incredible on paper, but it’s impossible to reach close in reality.
I think the problem is more that your theoretical fights aren’t realistic, you can spawn 4 phantasms at the start of any fight(if the max of 3 wasn’t there). And fractals actually has a very small amount of trash mob groups or 5 sec burst down bosses compared to other dungeons. Except of course for the ewwy fractals like dredge.

Ah I missed these threads
Why do people think 6/6/0/0/2 is a thing? That extra 100 precision and ferocity (which is a lot less than the 100 precision + 10% crit damage + 16% raw damage that it used to be) is not a good trade for the 20% overall Illusion CD reduction + faster phantasm attacks.
6/4/0/0/4 is ideal max DPS, 2/4/0/4/4 is best reflect uptime + damage combo, 6/4/0/4/0 is best damage-per-reflect for bosses like Lupicus where it actually matters.
K Mr authority on everything
I dont because signet of inspiration approves of mesmer slavery! Stop the suppression! Oh and because warriors and does stack might to 25 anyways, plus you using a build for reflection and instead of precision go for power.
If people stack up on her the reflection often screws up as well, probably has something to do with scorpion wire hitting before being reflected. I find wardens to be the most reliable reflectors, as long as they don’t spawn right inside her either. Only really the only difference between traited and untraited wardens is that traited does more damage, gets interrupted when reflecting the pull, and don’t block the daggerstorm. In group settings this is the better thing to take.
Regarding to Phantasm Haste, I find it excellent against the first Subject Alpha when the group has no FGS.
Glad someone brought it up.
Am i doing something wrong or Wardens really can push him out when cornering?
What is the best phantasm for him? I prefer duelists, they don’t jump around a lot like swordsmans. Or as a mesmer i just need to grab an FGS when its possible? =]
Why would the swordsman’s jumping be bad? They jump out of the dragonstooth aoe when going in for the hit and evade when dodging backwards.
We are working on finding a way to reopen warrior recruitment
Meh I suppose it is correct that phantasmal haste is irrelevant in most group situations.
Speaking of warden bugs, I’ve noticed the thing that causes them to bug out has to do with blasting combo fields, but I’m not entirely sure how to reproduce it.
Firstly, which bug? Secondly, are you accusing me of using a torch when soloing?!
the issue with them not spinning seems to have to do with targetting mostly. I conclude this from the fact that wardens have a 100% spin chance at the golems at the uncategorized fractal, ONLY when said wardens end up being in melee range of the raving Asura himself.
The bug I’m talking about involves all 3 of your phantasms resetting their animations so they act on the same timer. This is most noticeable in fights against Alphard where blasting some combo fields will cause all your wardens to sync up and spin at the same time, instead of having a rotation.
Interesting, I look forward to the results, I do hope that you mean untraited wardens :P but you’re smart, so I’ll take that as a given

I don’t like conceited signatures >_>
That aside its a good idea, I don’t understand why none of the ascended trinkets seem to have an assassin’s variant
If you need to destroy unblockable projectiles, do not trait warden’s feedback and take extended glamour duration instead. You can use scholar or ranger runes for this.
I don’t think this makes a whole lot of sense, if there are unblockable projectiles present feedback isn’t likely to do anything that’s super relevant, so keeping 25 in the inspiration traitline seems like a complete waste. I believe you wrote this with alphard in mind, but in tthis scenario it’s often better to just try to get wardens to spawn close to each other, and not use feedback at all.
So in that case I’d say go 6/4/0/0/4, which by the way is what I use as a max non reflect phantasm build, e.g. for the abomination in p2 arah when soloing.
In the case of alphard the feedback is helpful for killing the adds that shoot at you from the outside.
Which is exactly what I said, but feedback often has wardens bug out, and as adds don’t need to be killed its better to just place 3 wardens at a good spot to keep absorption up. That aside, this is a mesmer meta dungeon build guide, you should not me basing it around one specific encounter. I wouldn’t want people using feedback at old Tom after reading this.

Updated apart from Brie, might release a video regarding her later
x_x Im just adding the new trait setups and skills to the encounters lol
Here’s a beautiful example of a full solo with commentary and explanation. They do exist, but there’s a lot of bads that exploit and sell runs as well.
Needs so many updates I don’t have time for x_x and kitten it notrigger,I was told waves now spawn infinitely so killing doesn’t work xD screw everyone giving me false info
I’ve only seen 3.5ish waves as well… but I could have missed something?
And it’s still a great guide even if some things are different now!
Im updating it as we speak, I was planning on doing something with belka by killing the waves, but someone told me they changed it so that waves were infinite >_> didnt bother checking..
Due to university work I will not be accepting more students those who are already under my care(and never seem to ask me for tutoring) know where to find me though.

Hey there my dear elitists, Sanderinoa here with another solo,
This time I did another solo on my thief, somebody requested another mai trin kill, so I felt like getting this done in our lovely free easter weekend.
I wasn’t able to do this on lvl 50 because I simply do not have the required agony resistance.
That aside I am not at all a great thief, as you all know I main mesmer, so try to keep thief related questions to a minimum xD
This was, however, a very enjoyable solo, and I hope its fun to watch as well.
Link: http://youtu.be/5vvlskuZv00
All of the extra info should be in the description, if not, feel free to ask me in the comments. This will likely also be my last video for a while, as my studies need my full attention in the upcoming months.
Also, pracitacaly 1000 subscribers! thank you all.
Have a great day and enjoy the video if you’re interested
Funny again, the reason for my post was because the abomination that was taking forever
Then y u no just watch my p2 solo guide?
.__. halting strike no longer procs through defiant
New solo online
I guess this is one of those where I chose the phantasm spam
+ requested thief video tomorrow

The mesmer is a strategist class in my eyes, every encounter you need to see which appraoch will make you get the best out of the situation. Do keep in mind however, with the absence of reflection, the mesmer is a very low damage class, though phantasm builds were boosted with the viability of strength runes(use strength/battle sigil for 12-15 stacks of might upkeep).
In any situations in which you can not rely on phantasms there are two options, both of which you’ve already sort of mentioned.
First off, phantasms are all different, they have their own ways of dealing with things, and all end up getting useful at some point:
-Swordsmen dodge-> phantasmal haste -> more attacks -> more dodges -> more survivability. That aside, they stay at around 200-300 range, making them perfect for some enemies such as lupicus(they jump just outside kick range).
- Duelists do a good amount of damage and stay stationary at a distance, these are often what I end up using when I end up in an AOE fight. Consider traiting them to 1200 range, as I do with the abomination in arah, to keep them alive better.
Wardens – duhh, projectile reflect nothing else.
So after considering all of your viable phantasms, and you still dont get any good results, consider either of two options.
- Spam phantasm build – get a lot of cooldown reduction, use your signet heal properly and just spam the …. out of your phantasm skills, when they die you just make them get up again just to have them die again, because they hit once spawned, you’ll keep up some dps, but also have some meatbags around to keep your own damage more consistent.
- Shatter build, with the new traitsystem and all you can swap builds on the go, so techniquely you can always consider using shatters, Try to always use deceptive evasion with it, mantras, and as you’re running direct damage. NEVER forget about illusionary riposte, its our highest direct damage skill. Only use shatters in PvE as a last resort though.
Builds for full non reflect damage in solos should usually be around 30/30/0/0/10 or 30/20/0/0/20, but solos like yours are about getting by through any means necessary, so if you’re going to play a mesmer and solo, please look at your traitlines and decide your own approach
Last note: Never forget about Crowd Control, this may seem obvious, but as this mechanic is not used in groups very frequently, people tend to forget about its existence. In solos, and definitely in ones where your phantasms get killed, and you cant get in melee a lot. CC is definitely something you can count on, signet of domination is awesome.

sigh
Holding on to that last sliver of hope that I won’t have to retire my mesmer…
there’s still plenty necros around in this game, dont be a quitter D :<
Honestly it was still pretty overpowered in pve :x daze mantra takes practically no skill to use to completely disable a boss through defiant
Honestly, power block just highlighted how bad GW2 bosses are. You disable 1 or 2 attacks and they just stand around like fools. That’s not an overpowered disable, that’s kitten boss design.
lets just say, that for in guild wars 2, in which you have bad boss design, its overpowered untill they step up their game and improve said design.
Mah warrior, finally!!!!
XD I was wondering when she was going to show her sunglass covered face
You say it practically takes no skill but then I can quite safely say that if you told the average player in this game to run it they would either interrupt at the wrong time, spam it for every single attack or just forget to use it.
Mhmm, it’s around the same difficulty as dodging, except in this case you save the whole Lparty with it instead of just yourself. This of course is the basic principle of interrupting, but having it work through defiant is too much I’d say.

Jerem/Sandy, do you guys have a feeling for why 6/4/0/4/0 is better than the 2/4/0/5/3 builds for general DPS with warden?
My thought is that you have more personal DPS with 6/4 than 2/4, but the overall DPS is probably the same (and personal is generally favored since phants are paper and die so easily). Did you do any testing with this yet?
Thanks!
too… many… builds… too.. many… situations, everything’s useful somewhere .__.
lol, pretty much. I’m considering just simplifying it and using 6/6/0/0/2 and 6/4/0/4/0 most of the time. Seems like that will be less stressful than constantly adjusting everything….
my mouse broke from clicking after a hotw solo run x_x too many traitswitches,
in solos I do run 4 in illusions often though

Sure it does, for EM wich got ninjaswitched to dominion. So your reflects hit harder. But untraiting the warden doesn’t seem so smart for heavy reflect encounters.
I hope you realise I made some stuff bold to show what I was actually commenting on
2/4/0/4/4 for a phant build i would switch to 6/4/0/TWO/2 for any reflect heavy encounter
that doesnt make any sense .__.
And a full phantasm build for pure DPS?
2(III)/3(II)/0/5(II & VIII)/4(III & X)
Pure warden dps*
(edited by Sanderinoa.8065)
I didn’t see any wardens spinning even though they seemed to be in range of the asura. But I’ll have to test it in a non – pug environment.
I’m counting on you to do what I can not
Soooo, the warden trait needs to be reslotted at every mapchange, that’s okay. But how about their not spinning? That’s still broken right?
I just did harpy fractal with a pug, and they definitely still bug on the last boss. They seem to more consistently spin on the harpies – instead of going full kitten they just have a bit of a delay. That delay is sometimes long enough to get them killed tho. :S
Does this include pulling the golems next to the raving Asura or not?
cries
It’s fine Sandy, you finally have some use for the Domination traitline.
Lol dub I’m the last person complaining about that, if you actually watched my solos you’d know I already use the domination line plenty :P I’m done with mesmer lupicus solos after goku’s RNG abomination, so the only thing I currently care about is whether wardens will do anything or if I can throw away my focus

Pretty sure you’re just casting on a minion mob. The normal wolves are spawned by the elite ones, and illusions have never worked on those. I already pointed this out 10 months ago in this thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Mesmer-and-minion-mobs/first#post2200257
Whoooh nice work
Its about g.d d.mn time you put out your necro record spoj gj
