Besides even if BG is super stacked SoR could still have done something like held Valley in EB. The keep was T3 with a million pieces of siege inside, and the queue would ensure that SoR cannot be outnumbered. And yet when I log on today SoR have … nothing … on the map, with even TC ticking more points.
Earlier this week BG was fully queued on all four maps a lot of the time, but SoR still doesn’t have to lose this badly. I’m really disappointed.
We all held ques over the week end, so the difference has to be that SoR is now just not showing up. After we took the lead I guess SoR just got too disheartened.

The human nature to stack for an easier victory is too prevalent and no one has the stomach for that level of an arms race outside Tier 1.
This is a very nice sentiment that has been promoted for a long time (mostly by Blackgate, Cheers!) but unless someone wants to be the first to dive into the water???
Could you get enough folks to do it without destabilizing the current T1 situation?
T1 is so unstable that every guild transfer (outside of NA) results in a massive swing in fortunes.
MERC (or just some of them) transfer to JQ and suddenly #3 is number 1. ZDs goes to BG and suddenly #3 is #1 and everyone is saying how JQ needs EU even though even a modest sized guild would throw the math off again.
How do you prevent a stackwagon and prevent a server implosion if it should dip to #4 for a week or two?
Here’s your problems on the tier 2 side: TC:massive fairweather population, queues are rough and they have lost a lot of their WvW focused strength outside of CERN and PINK SoS: Anemic NA, but if it’s NA becomes strong it will start crawling upwards in rating. Plus we don’t really have a burning desire to be T1 again (unless the nature of T1 were to change drastically). Maguuma: The addition of OCX/SEA guilds would help them, but then they’d have to redefine themselves (can’t say you don’t PPT when you tick over 300) and there would be massive infighting between roamers and blobbers. Fort Aspenwood:I have no idea what their problem is, but I hear there are a lot of politics SBI: Too many lower tier transfers, won’t be ready for primetime for a while.
Continue with all the name calling, stackwagon, etc. Who really cares about #3, #2 or #1, as long as we are in tier 1, we have the best fights. And you forget how hard everyone in tier 1 fights. 1 guild can make a difference between #3 to #1, but everyone else on each of these 3 servers fight harder than in any other tier
Disagree completely. I think what leagues has done is make assured match ups. If an EU guild was to go to SoS, they will inherently have more competition to face compared to say SoR or BG. On top of this it revitalizes gold all together as we don’t have dead weeks like JQ is having. Then again they have crazy stacked their SEA so I mean they’re asking for it really, but that’s the meta we’ve all put ourselves in.
It doesn’t have to be completely balanced, that is kind of hard, but hey, that doesn’t mean that people should be avoiding these other servers.
SoS, TC, Mag. These are servers that non-NAs should seriously be considering. I think for gold league NA is sorted (maybe not SoS). But if guilds want to move to these other servers in gold there can be some great competition for every week and for every guild.
It was mentioned that Smokee and Indo have had these talks on promoting EU guilds to move to JQ. Maybe we should open it up to the other three servers as well. EU prime has 2 hour queues, so before this edge of the mists stuff there will be guilds over there seriously considering coming over to NA. The problem we are facing with it now is that there are dead weeks. Imagine if we could cut those dead weeks altogether.
To accomplish that we have to get over the STACK TO WIN mentality which JQ, SOR and BG are all equally guilty of. And it’s not so much in the hands of the server leaders but the guilds who come to gold league.
It’s something to think about.

The problem is that the result you’re expecting won’t happen. Excluding maybe TC, transfers… realistic transfers to any of these servers will not yield any greater competition. That’s how great the difference is between T1 and T2.
You’re working on the assumption that reasonably sized guilds are moving to NA servers, so hey, lets balance T2 / Gold.
The guilds, however, are thinking. “We are transferring to Gold, where should we go?”
And the factors dictating that decision all favour T1.
Which is a problem!
T1 is competitive among the 3 but leave the at least 3 other servers out to dry and the argument coming from them is stack up or go home. T1 has no real interest in competition; their only focus is on this absurd arms race where one of them tries to recruit enough people that they can just sit back and face-roll. The way t1 conducts itself is bad for the game and bad for the community long-term.
Lol, ok no interest in the PPT competition. If you mean competitive fights, then you are wrong. I transferred to BG a few months ago, and the fights are much more organised and fun. I don’t regret moving here at all.

Oh, don’t embarrass yourselves like SoR and ask SoS to pick sides in that match. We’d rather tick 0ppt fo the week than let the league be decided by shenanigans from our server.

All I am saying is that obviously aiming for fights haven’t make SoR very happy, it makes IRON frustrated, it makes NA and SEA suffers, and overall just make it very unfun for most people. Maybe IRON should rethink what is more important, bags or points

I was doing rank 40 to get tiger finisher in spvp last 2weeks XD Seeing how crazy requirement is needed to get phoenix and dragon finishers I decided to get only Tiger’s one and it makes me think that we should have some WvW specific finishers unlockable depending on our WvW ranks or a finisher wxp line unlocking finishers would do it as well also.
That would be that playing for fights thing we go on about. Even though your post was sarcastic you at least get what we was trying to do, being in your garrison was the only way to get a decent fight going.
Alot of your server mates like to use the SoR playing for fights thing as a reason to chest thump when you win, but its nice to see some people get it.
Please leave SoR and take the rest of IRON with you, you all clearly have no interest of helping SoR win this tournament and your 6hr karma training yesterday did the server no good. There is a time to karma train and a time to get serious but its obvious IRON only cares about loot bags. Oh becuase BG got a new 40 man EU guild is no excuse either for a loss of points lead we did have.

The problem with thinking like this is if you win you will be at BG’s mercy on week 7 since they will be in a position to determine who wins the league. Mock BG all you want, but there’s a very strong chance it could cost you.

Hey OPP, how come you have one of your players on our server in WvW? I did try asking the guy but as soon as I did he went quiet and changed his guild to Spirit of the quaggan [SQ]
All they need to do is give every player on a WvW map a 2-5% bonus to all stats that disappears whenever they are within 1200 range of more than 20 people (or maybe a smaller number) from the same server. The exact bonus percentage needed to encourage zerg breakup should be determined by beta testing.
You have not understood the puropose of this map. It is amap for everyone to fight the way they want, without having any impact on the score. So you don’t have to play there if you don’t want to, and let other guilds play in their 20 man blobs

Yep, but we knew that already. And I think most of you take the next week against SoR off too. That’s the way BG always worked. Win a week, lose two, recruit some guilds, win a week, lose two weeks.
So, we will have two boring matchup in week 2. One for JQ and one for SoR.

I don’t normally post, but in the past 7 days I’ve seen some incredibly dirty things being played that ruins the whole spirit of who is a “better server”.
In the week prior to this so-called Season 1, JQ beat BG by a definite margin, to the point of embarrassment.
This week, I saw daily 2v1 fights against our server. Double our numbers in a 24/hr clogged-up situation where our real fighting guilds could not get in or change locations because of the achievement process that Anet decided to introduce for this Season.
We fought with mostly PVE militia eager to get their achievement points.
Once you open the floodgates of PVE into the realm of PVP, you break the true PVP champions of each server from doing what they do best.
I know Anet is trying to please everyone. Sure, I got my Veteran of the Mist title and my key in the first week endlessly focusing not on my server objectives but my own. And I’ve been playing WvW since day one of GW2 launch.
Something is really screwed with this ‘Season’ concept. I pity those true PVP folks like ATM and GE and MERC who give their life for this game with brilliant fighting coordinate for server glory, only to be cut at their knees by the flood of PVE newbies clogging up their vital resource lines.
BG and SOR, u may have won this round. But you deserve zero respect for what you did to us. Phui.
I don’t know how anyone could not see the flaw in this season schedule wasn’t with JQ but, with extra BG and SoR pairings. A pairing that gives them the capacity to manipulate the season unchallenged. I do hope Mag, TC, and SoS act accordingly to punish the noncompetitive tactics exhibited this week.

You are wrong, JQ controls it’s own destiny. 7 weeks of JQ/BG/SoR would have shown JQ’s true strength. As it stands you are guaranteed 1st in at least 4 out of 7 weeks.

There is a rivalry between all 3 servers, but the BG/SoR rivalry has always overshadowed other ones, and JQ has blatantly taken advantage of it.
I don’t know if anyone told you this, but you seem slow, so I’ll help you out. There’s this mentality, call it a 1-sided rivalry among all NA servers that have played in T1. A certain rivalry that stretches back all the way to beta. Have you figured it out yet? No?
Ok, here’s a hint: It has something to do with JQ and JQ being the only server that can claim that it has been the most relevant server in all of T1.
Still not got it? It’s ok we’re all on NA servers, perhaps you’re from the States, you’re in luck. We have these programs to help the mentally inclined citizens.

5h no break whatsoever, beeing constantly hit by [COIN] + the rest of BG blob on one side, and the whole 80+ JQ blob on the other, Not even once on that time one BG camp/tower flipped to JQ, and that t3 keep you are talking about, was t2 walls only, when we arrived there. You talk about camping? We had 3 holes in bay that we couldnt close due to the lack of time to grab any supplies. And we never had more than 30-32 at peak.
But you are right, our scouts did camp and did an awesome job informing the commanders when the JQ marathon squad was bashing a gate
