I mean its almost as if 1v1, duels, or gvg isn’t the main purpose of WORLD vs WORLD vs WORLD….who would of thought….

That depends, if it is WORLD vs karma train zerg vs no zerg, then yes, duels and gvgs are most interesting.

Ascended gear will not make you win a fight unless you were good enough to win it anyway.
The extra stats (5% or something like that) won’t really make much of a difference.

Another thing to keep in mind is that WvW was never meant to be fair or balanced.

There are aspects which need to be balanced, and others which need not. Our skill shouldn’t have to make up for the inferior armor we wear.

I agree achieves have no place in WvW. I am however incredibly lucky that they got in this time. I never did any WvW before the season and it is now all I want to do. I will be here fighting when the season is over, on teamspeak, running builds as needed and sticking to the commanders tag like glue or roaming with havoc.

So in my opinion, the positive outcome is that there is a influx of new WvWers for after the season. But yes achieves in WvW are sooo bad, if there are anymore they need to be done in like 5 minutes so the queues can unclog again.

I disagree on the achievements. For the less populated servers, it’s an opportunity to get new players in. Just the other day another new person was publicly stating they were new and needed help. I believe it was EP that immediately took them under their wing. I think it is only an inconvenience to a server just about full with wvw guild transfers and is an annoyance to them. But us lower servers don’t mind.

Ques are not the problem, it is PVE’rs coming in wvw to karma train for APs. Population isn’t an issue.

Now we need a thread for guild of the year!

Your personal reward based on your APs haven’t changed, but the reward based on your server’s performance depends on how IoJ does.

Being on SoR, I have seen less and less of the normal groups of people that I see in wvw on a nightly bases. If we keep on course we will be 4th in the league and a solid teir 2 server. Now if we hang in tier 2 depends on how we get hit by fair weather transfers to and from SoR. My gut tells me JQ and BG are going to see a large influx of players thou.

I’m hoping that it actually might encourage some destacking from BG and JQ; but as time has shown it usually takes a series of negative events to encourage a destack.
Some BG/JQ transfer love to SoS and FA would create 6 fairly balanced servers at the top and could keep WvW viable, competitive, and fun for a while.

Especially since the alternative now in beta sounds like a complete bust; it’s more important than ever that this game mode remains fun for people.

No, I said I would like a voluntary destack from BG and JQ. SoR has killed their image in the forums and their play during the season. I find it interesting that the two responsible parties were the first to go.
If we could get the top 6 to around TC levels it would be fun; but as I said, history is against me on that one.

Besides, SoR hasn’t quite slid into T2 yet, but are in danger of going T1.5.

Shifty was the only person trolling from IRON, and he even left IRON to continue trolling. says a lot about his character. Then he started saying things like why should sor even bother fighting when bg is stacked, and next thing he does is transfer to an eu server. no respect for such people. They indeed portrayed a bad image on the forums, which I’m sure hurt their recruitment. Hopefully they can pick themselves up after this debacle. I’m sure JQ are focusing them this week and SoR might just be taking the rest of the season off which explains why they are losing to TC.

There’s a sentiment on JQ that SoR threw week 1 via all-out 2v1 to force us into 3rd place that week, and JQ is trying to bury SoR this week to kick them out of the top 3 as payback.

Payback for what?

He’s saying they believe SoR and BG are guilty of 2v1 vs JQ in week 1 (since JQ had easy matchups the rest of seasons). With this belief in mind, they plan to bury SoR as payback (since they can’t beat BG at this point, as BG already has enough points to win)

People need to stop taking things so personally. JQ was thought to be the clear top server going in so of course they were going to be focused. Its the logical thing for the other servers to do.

JQ was focussed because they had 3 easy matches in the season.

This is one reason why I am quite torn on this issue. It certainly has got more people interested in the game mode which is great.

TW didn’t disband. Lost some members and are not playing every night like they used to. Tbh I couldn’t care less about being behind TC. We went months and months being outmanned during ocx/sea/eu. It’s nothing new.

I just hope finally the T1 servers stop with the “arms race” and try to even out the other Tiers before season 2 starts.

Maybe it’s just bad wording, but you are talking like a T2 server there.

TC is weaker than they’ve been in months, SoR must be looking a lot different these days if they can’t catch up.

Morale is really low on SoR right now. BG faced a similar problem just before leagues begun and that’s why everyone thought BG were the underdogs.

Oh well I guess it’s time to move to another class. I can’t believe changes are still being made to classes more than a year after it has been released.

D/D will not be playable anymore without those 2 traits. Do you guys even put any thought into trait changes and how it will affect pvp?

Because, ofcourse, it undermines all the effort everyone put in.

I think shorter cooldowns would really help a small group against a large group which can only hit 111111 or mash 1-5 without knowing what those skills do.

i guess roaming on Maguuma hard these days, i tried to challenge an EP charr thief to duel, started signaling him to duel instead he went to invi and started to attack while i was jumping signaling him. oh well, nice duel huh.

Was thinking the same thing. I’m guessing all worlds still have players needing the achievements. We just need one BL to flip and a Mercenaries/SM train in EB. As long as we leave the other maps for more organic play for our open field fighters to enjoy.

Clearly karma training isn’t the way the wvw is supposed to be played, so if living story APs are going to turn wvw into a karma train at any point, shouldn’t the farming part be removed? Increase the player kill requirement, decrease the sentry captures, mercenary camp captures, etc.

I think more people are upset and bring up ZD’s transfer over MERC or any other guild is because of the timing. MERC transfer happened a week before league? ZD’s transfer happened a week after league while BG was losing to SOR. YES BG was making a comeback on their own accord, but you can’t blame people for suspecting the worse when it happened at that time. Not only that but from what I read here is BG doesn’t even need ZD’s help. ZD’s is a final nail on everyone else’s coffin. ZD’s is the reason it’s a blowout and why other servers “give up”. BG’s core is the main reason for the success in this league.

Servers “give up” bc they didnt try hard enough. JQ could still get 1st this week if they wanted to. SoR give up to early, we will never know but I did expected crazy fights everyday against them. Its a pitty things turn out this way.
This is not a blow out, BG just want to win more then SoR or JQ. This week proves what Im saying, JQ got more then 5k lead, and we pushed hard to catch. They could still push back, but for some reason they give it up. Its your fault your server dont stay competitive, not BG’s and for sure not ZDs. Wake up please.

Every time I try logging into this alfa testing account, I get the error message that it is a trial account and I need to buy the game.

With all due respect, when the season started we were definitely the least stacked and lowest ranked tier 1.

And even around 2am server time this morning, there were no Qs on SoS and JQ BLs. That’s why week 1 is the most memorable foe me because it showed BGs commitment and dedication to wvw despite having the least favorable odds. For many of us, it’s not the prize that we cherish but rather the journey.

My servermate took this screenshot minutes before week 1 leagues started, this was prior to ZD’s joining as well. Regardless, good job on the win, but to state BG wasn’t already stacked couldn’t be further from the truth,

It’s unfair in the same sense that exotic gear is superior to rares, for example. You can work for it and obtain it and no one can take it away from you [except by killing you]. I think its a good reward for those who earn it.

On topic: I’m 100-something on my ele and 70-something on thief.

The question is, how hard do you have to work for exotic armor? I can play the wvw just as I like, and by the time I reach 80, I have enough badges for an armor set, karma for trinkets, etc. Can we do that for ascended armor and weapons?

I just receieved an email from Arenanet to inform me my email has been changed. I received this email at 2 am in the night, when I was asleep, so I couldn’t have changed it. I didn’t go to the confirmation link, ofcourse, but is there anything I should do about this?

I was selected for the edge of the mists testing, so could it be related to that?

It turns out these emails from ArenaNet associated with Edge of the Mists (and associated email change) are legit. I don’t think you have to confirm anything, but you are able to download your beta version henceforth.
