After over 4 years and thousands of gameplay hours, I’ve grown bored of GW2. The introduction of elite specialisations isn’t really breathing life into it for me. I miss the excitement gw2 generated at launch, and even 3 years later. I would love to experience it again if GW3 ever releases. Please don’t release any more expansions. I hope the next release from ANET is a sequel to this legendary game, and lets move on before it dies completely.

Hi,
I want to return after about 5 months away. I also have a new laptop (windows 10). So I use the discs to install the game. The discs do their work without any problems. But the client then crashes when downloading updates. It has crashed twice now, and I think at the exact point. If I open the client, it starts downloading from the same point and then crashes immediately again. Please help!

The problem did not lie with amulets, but with elite specialisations in particular. Anet broke the system with some classes like druid, with so much healing that it didn’t even need healing power, which rendered an amulet like soldier’s completely OP.

If anyone thought a class like warrior was unplayable these past 2 months, wait until elementalists have to play without celestial amulet.

Anet truly knows nothing about this class. The problem was never about damage for ele, but the survivability. Elementalist’s survivability before celestial was nothing and now it will return to nothing once again. To compound the issue, diamond skin (never a fan of it, never used it) has been reworked which reduces the survivability even further. And what does anet do to make up for the loss of survivability? Increase the dps with shatterstone buff.
The real problem with tempest was not celestial amulet but diamond skin, 100% uptime of 40% protection with the occasional frost aura (10% damage reduction). They are making random adjustments to a class they don’t understand.

Like shocking aura! My unrelenting assault gets interrupted prematurely because I can’t see the bloody animation! I can understand why other animations like light aura were changed, but shocking aura is so much more dangerous. There is already a problem with too many CCs flying around, this is the last thing we needed.

If he’s afk but still in game the system doesn’t recognise him/her as ‘afk’. He needs to be disconnected or logged out.

…. the most boring one. Anet did a commendable job with the first design of elementalist, and in particular, the arcana line. Forcing us to utilize all 4 attunements was something very unique in MMOs. But with the expansion, this class has regressed to a traditional mage. This has severly lowered the skill cap of one of the most fun classes in the game. I wouldn’t have much of an issue with it if it wasn’t for the fact that less skillful gameplay has become more rewarding since the expansion released. And that goes for all classes. I think I will stick to my double dagger elementalist, even though it isn’t part of the new meta, but at least more entertaining.

Does anyone know how long dishonour lingers for after the first offense?
My connection is a bit unreliable today. I disconnect during a match and then return to complete it, but I recieve dishonour and a time out of 15 minutes. Then I wait about an hour because I am dead scared of timeout rising exponentially. I queue up again an hour later, random DC, and now I have a 45 minute time out. Thanks, maybe I should just quit for a few months until I have a better connection. I’m not even going to test the next time out. What’s it going to be? 12 hours?

I think staff #4 cast time needs to be reduced by at least 50%. If you have 10 burning stacks on you, you need a skill that instantly clears the condi, because that extra one tick can be the difference between life and death. A cast time of 1 second for staff 4 allows that extra one tick to happen and potentially kill you.
Staff 2 is currently useless. I can’t remember the last time I used it. You only have a decent chance of landing it on an enemy trying to revive an ally. However, by the time you can actually land the second, dazing blow, the ally is completely revived. If the first blow itself is the dazing/stunning blow, the skill would actually be useful.

I think the simplest solution to reviving WvW from the dead is to simply force a server to play all borderlands. This can be done by making PPT more important by just rewarding heavily the winning server at the end of the week.

I would love it if the herald heal was completely redone. Against smart opponents, it’s completely useless, and against brainless opponents, it’s amazing. Funny thing is, you never even need a heal against the bad ones.
And shiro heal isn’t meant to be used when you are nearing death. If you have very low life and you use the heal, you have to attack your opponent to heal further, which will get you killed more times than not.

I have an outdated graphics card, and it can’t handle the new maps. FPS falls to under 5. I bought the expansion for just the revenant in pvp.

It’s impossible to do so in the current system. There are internal cool downs from traits, sigils, runes, etc. There should be a system where we can actually see what is on cool down to time our skills better. In the bottom left of our screen, downed and dead players names are shown. Instead, why not use that space to show us all our internal cool downs?

I use shiro/glint with devastation, invocation and herald. The only need to use retribution is for stability, but shiro has sufficient stun breakers
Anyone with decent access to weakness will ruin you tho. I know how many glacial hits i been doing last beta against necros/thiefs.
All the more reason to use invocation right? it has a condi clear whereas retribution doesn’t.
And I use staff as well. so with the 2 additional condi clears, I’m taken care of.

That fury trait doesn’t give you 100% crit chance it gives fury’s effect 100% meaning 100% of 20 is 20, so 20+20 = 40% crit from fury instead of 20%.
You only gain an extra 20% from the trait.
If you use marauder’s amulet with rolling mists, you can hit 94% crit chance with fury. It’s still good enough.
