The drop chance is just ridiculously low…

No wonder there are so many people complain about it and yet still trying to get one…

Know why? People understand they are completely random and extremely rare – its even in the name of the item!

It was never stated or implied in any way that these BLC drops would be equivalent in rarity to TF2 unusuals – a reasonable assumption was that they would be a common drop, maybe 1/3 or 1/10 and not a 1/100 super rare jackpot item.

You could argue that the wording “a chance” does not exclude extreme rarity, but if you look at the october 24 patch notes (with details for Mad King Chests) you will note that Arenanet recognized that as an issue and modified the wording to “a rare chance”. Hopefully they stick to this in the future so that customers don’t misunderstand the rarity and feel cheated.

Valve NEVER mentioned the drop rate of unusual.

What they put in the crate description is “etc, etc, or an Exceedingly Rare Special Item!”

All the percentage at wiki is speculation by the community which is around 1% chances.

Anet also says it’s a “RARE” chance to get the skin.

Don’t tell me you don’t understand what the meaning of “RARE” is.

There are common, uncommon, and rare for comparison, go figure it out.

Hey I opened 100 chests with the keys that I bought of BLTC and got nothing, so I blame Anet for exploiting me into buying keys.

Seriously what’s the point of this.

People buy keys with real money by their own will, that’s right Anet doesn’t hypnotise, encourage, exploit, or what ever you say it to tell people that they have to buy keys.

It’s their fault they buy key and get nothing, it’s a game of chance where not everyone gonna win.

That’s why I prefer reddit community rather than here because there are bunch of people who are not mature enough to be responsible with themself.

I bet some people have serious gambling issue in real life.

I go to trading post at LA a lot and yet not annoyed by this. What I’m annoyed is the NPC voice bug where you can hear the NPC having conversation loudly where ever you are.

No other AAA developer would be caught dead encouraging Real life gambling to minors, It just doesn’t happen. even Activision-blizzard have standards.

First, this is an MMO NOT a casino. When did it become acceptable for video games to be considered CASINOS?

Secondly, the federal government does not put limits on gambling because of the land usage which makes it a sovereign right of the state governments, of which in the vast majority of states in America gambling is illegal. The only exception is Native American reservation lands, which is how most states (like Michigan and Washington State where ArenaNet is HQd) have casinos.

Are you being forced to gamble with keys? no? then DON’T do it.

No one are being forced to gamble their own money to get some silly skins, it’s because they WANT to by their OWN will.

I never bought a single key of BLTC and I enjoy this game A LOT.

Just let you know, people are willing to pay thousands of dollar of real money to get a silly hat with silly effect. Last time I checked a burning team captain worth $5000 and you know what? It’s all about cosmetic and people are still willing to buy key and gamble without whining like this. Go and check tf2 community for yourself, no one ever whines of losing money because they are opening 100 crates without getting unusual.

The problem is a lot of people enjoy gambling and risk their money by doing so. They get self satisfaction by getting lucky or disappointed for being unlucky. It seems people here can’t accept the fast that they are losing money for having a bad luck.

RESPONSIBILITY plays a lot in this, because you are responsible on how you going to spend your money. Unless you are a 13 y.o. who doesn’t know how to spend your money responsibly this is a serious issue.

Maybe Anet should put “GAMBLING RESPONSIBLY” before anyone can buy key.

Gambling will always be an option inside video game or in real life and you can’t deny that fact. Even precursor are gambling with expensive stuff, I’ve seen people losing hundreds of gold trying to craft dusk from mystic forge.

The point is you don’t have to gamble to enjoy this game. I am myself also don’t like gambling, but I hate people who whine that they are losing money because they gamble even if the know the risk.

What I hate is whiner who think they should get what they paid for, especially on gambling. It’s like when you are suing an owner of a casino because you are losing money from having bad luck or terrible skill.

You didn’t say anything of value, i was attempting to mock you.

I’m not whining, I’m not bothered that i didn’t get anything from the chests, I am however, disgusted with these business practices and i’m attempting to reassure Arena net that this isnt the route they should be going down.

And it’s not a kittening casino. It’s an mmorpg. Stop comparing it to lotteries, casinos, and gambling. It should never go that far, Ever. the fact people are saying “hurdy durr casino chances LEL get over it” is completely irrelevent, There shouldnt be a kittening casino in the first place. I bought the mad king costume as well and I still block some people who use the table utility skill. Why? because some people abuse the skill by standing on the edge of the mystic forge cauldron and spam the skill from there without getting any hit from anybody else which is a total unfair because they keep getting points without even trying. I like pissing off people like that, at the end they will just get down and join the brawl down there.

I never ever blocked intentionally to who ever play fair.

I have the mad king costume and yea those skills are just too op compare to other costume skills imo. I can easily hit and run with skill 3 and get tons of scores by doing so.

Found a bugged Haunted Door at kessex hill. It stays open without doing anything.

For me it worth it. Planning to buy the witch costume as I already bought the mad king one, but better wait till the gems price to stable a bit since it’s fluctuating a lot since the update.

Shield abilities are good, but not for soloing. This is also what I’m disappointed about shield for guardian since shield really “fitting” into this profession but the fact that the skills are only useful for group makes me sad. They should make the shield more reliable for soloing content.

Shield more like supportive for group and focus more like a personal protection. I still prefer focus over shield, especially in dungeon.

Huh? I don’t really understand what you are saying, but I can say I never had any problem with down leveling system so far especially with my stats.

Their voice are all the same no matter what you choose during character creation. I have played 3 charr males with 3 different legion before and they are all have the same voice acting, the only thing that is different is the personal story.

As for norn female voice, if you want a girly voice make a human female instead. I like the deep voice of norn people due to their lore and background.

I have the tallest norn body available and the slimmest one. I like large intimidating character so yea…
and the slimmest body type doesn’t make the armor looks stretch out.

I have the slimmest and tallest male norn, and the widest and shortest male norn.
I’m disappointed the fact that the max height is not big enough.

Totally disagree on number 2 and 6. These two are gold sink, the most expensive WP I have ever paid is only 3s and resetting trait on level 80 only cost you 3.5s, these fee is really low because I can get 1 gold per hour usually with my level 80 character.

The only weakness to guardian low HP is condition damage I can say, which ignore the armor.

Considering they have different colour weapons of a same version, like Mystic weapons(blue) & CoE dungeon weapons(red) and Asura cultural weapons 1(blue) & SE dungeon weapons(red) I don’t think they will make weapons dyeable.

eh no. I ran AC EM with a level 50 and TA EM with 2 level 60 before and we finished those without any wipe.

I finished CM story when I was level 45 and everyone in my group were around level 40-45.

It all depends on how skillful your group member is not their level.

My HP is 13.8k in full exotic gear lawl.
Despite having a really low hp I can regen ridiculously quick compare to any other class, just go out of the fight for 5 seconds I can get almost full hp from low hp(still in combat mode). I stack a lot of healing power though. Don’t forget I can heal solid 9.2k with my healing skill.
My crit chance is 34% though but my power is only 1.5k.
EDIT : My healing power is 760

umm no, there are more warrior than guardian actually.

AC EM is not so bad, CoF EM is really easy I can say except for path 3 which require some good teamwork. CM EM is quite challenging I can say which is not suitable for first timer who wants to try dungeon EM. If you are experienced enough try CoE once you hit level 80, I like subject alpha so much compare to other dungeon boss. As for story, they are not really hard imo as long your group can work together as a team although arah story is quite longer than the other since it’s also related with your personal story.

My personal favourite EM dungeon is CoE.

I have male norn guardian and warrior, and a female norn elementalist.
Norn look good in heavy armor I can say, even their first heavy cultural armor look good.

20 seconds cooldown for a 3 seconds symbol is just ridiculous.
15 seconds would be more reasonable imo.

The only maps that guaranty to get you transmutation stone are the race main city including lion arch. The other map will give you either a key or 3 transmutation stones. I have 57% map completion and have 40 TS so far and that’s for a single character only, so don’t worry about not getting enough of it although you will need a fine transmutation stone for level 80 items.

Swindler set armor has the torso and the legs part clip horribly.

It’s all depends on your timezone and what kind of the community in the server. For example, I’m at Sea of Sorrow which has the largest oceanic community. It’s really hard to get a group during daytime at the local oceanic time(e.g. EST) during weekdays. I hardly notice in the skill quality of the group though, although there are more better groups during night time on weekdays or almost all day during the weekends I can say.

As a guardian I never used any projectile shield skill. Infact I’m the one who mostly ressing people if they are down, thanks to aegis and focus skill 5 I can take few hits before getting some real damage although thief with shadow refugee is also good at ressing people.

There is a open world raid called Dynamic Event. If you are expecting a 20 people instance type, I believe you will never see one.

Blizzard is well known for dumbing down any difficult content. If you really want to play easy game, go play wow. Anet will never dumb down the difficulty too much, although some dungeon really need some balancing.

You are still keep getting damage even after you are dead if you died on the laser, this is why sometimes you are downed after tele to nearby wp.

The Alpha Drake animation in a DE doesn’t work properly. It was not like this the last time I did this DE. It didn’t have any animation or any moving part, it was just a static model even after it died.

Using thief shortbow skill 3 rapidly on a mob while in combat will show the “rubber-banding” effect very clearly, while using the skill 3 rapidly while outside combat will not show any “rubber-banding” effect which is the same as dodging outside combat.

Yes it’s more like an undodgeable attack. You have to rely on you group to help you break the crystal, this is where teamwork comes to play.

There is an option to hide helmet and pauldron , but why not torso or gloves?
I mean norn have body tattoo that can be seen if they are not using torso armor, otherwise no one can even see it.

eh I assume this because you are a warrior. I have both male norn guardian and warrior, I can say the guardian one sounds more peaceful compare to the warrior one. The warrior one just seems angry all the time but I like that since I chose ferocity as the personality :P
