Anyone flipping through the actual achievements pages can see how many require very little actual skill. So why would anyone assume that having more AP’s means more skill?
Especially when there’s rewards attached to them now causing people to farm out more dailies and more of the easier ones than they used to before.

They did not. Actually, there is no any good way to see player skills without testing em. So players forced to using not so reliable ways of checking it. At least ap filters newbies.

I have been playing for a year and I’m not really interested in dungeons anymore. I used to run Fractals at least 2 times a day for 2 months, after getting all the skins I wanted I stopped. If I decide to run them again for the new fractal, you can bet I’ll jump in at 18 ~ 24 instead of 38 ~ 44. I’m practically a noob again

Chess is a game of such complexity that dwarfs PvP. To be great at chess takes much, much more than being great playing GW2. Go play 1,000 hours of chess and see where that gets you. Let me know if you win a championship. I will truly be impressed.

I really don’t like going here because I know it touches a nerve with many, but being good at video games has almost no real world value. I’ll give you problem solving, hand eye coordination, some dedication, but that is about it. Now many have strong characteristics in real life and are good at video games but being good at a video game doesn’t necessarily translate to anything in real life.

I started playing video games in the 80’s as a kid. I was really good at them and I thought it was cool to go to the arcade and get top score with my initials. Thing is though, no one cared but me. At one point I spent a lot of free time playing those games. My dad called me a “vidiot”. He was right.

There could be one item unique to Tyria, one of a kind, available to only one player that takes tons of playing time or what ever to get and if I saw someone with it I would think “He must really like this game to play so much to get it. When I looked at the requirements for making a legendary, I said, “No, thanks.” In GW I enjoyed getting my 30-odd maxed titles. I didn’t go for GWAMM because too many of the remaining titles involved soul-sucking grind (to get virtual liquor. sweets and party items), farm the gold to be able to afford to sit akitten a mini-game ring, etc.

I will be honest though, nothing anyone does in any video game ever will impress me. I’ve been playing video games for 30+ years so I don’t think that will ever change. To be fair though, what impresses one person doesn’t always impress someone else.

Thats another reason, why u getting so much negative posts here. People do get impressed. Not all. But many. But to state it themselves? Not many people can stomp their pride so much ^^.

In a game, such people usualy silent and do nothing to offend you. So they r no trouble.

Like many others, I dont like to be impressed by others, so I rarely state it myself. But legendary shows me, that, probably, this person is a good player. Its not 100% failproof, but this is a sign. Like many others. Achivements, legendary, title. And many other little things. Together – it tells story about the owner.

So no. Even I wont get impressed by legendary. But I would respect the efforts player put in crafting his weapons. And it would help me judge how good he is.

The thread title is “Do Legendary Users Impress You?” Many people responded “no” or “not really” or “I don’t care either way.” Some explained why. Maybe I’m a bit off here but I thought the title of the thread was asking what people thought about players that have a legendary. Or was this thread supposed to be just for people that are impressed with them?

The trouble is just in their responses. Most of people who responded "I dont care, because put excuse here " actually do care. I can see, mby not envy, but they DO care. Its like saiying "I dont care about “expensive item”, because it costs so much." Its just self-conviction, that everything allright and u dont need it. But you know what? Self-conviction can go only this far. Mby u can lie to yourself, but you can’t lie to me.

Though, i respect people opinions, and im not talking about everyone. Only about some people here, who, obviously, overdoing it for known reason.

Where i said, that i dont care? I do care. I take pleasure in wielding my legendary. Even if my team dont even notice it. It feels good, when some newbies asks what is a weapon you have and u show em and they all go “wow! Nice! I wish i had it!”. Same goes with other team, when u have few members left the party, plan on making lfg, but they say “Its fine! U have a Bolt! We can do it!”. Actually, except this thread, I never ever met random party, who would go “Oh…legendary? booo…u have no life!!!” or smth in this line. Never. Only here.

No obviously not, they were just lucky people. Lucky with the precursors, lucky with the lodestones, lucky with the t6 mats. Or they played the TP. Or they abused the never-ending mob spawns. Or they farm cof p1 with 8 characters.

Lots of ways to get a legendary in the game, none of them is challenging or impressive.

This game is almost 1 year old. Legendary can be farmed in 3-4 monthes. Without any luck drop. Just play this game. Everything gives profit here. Events = profit, Dungeons = profit. Www zergs = profit. Even meta events = profit. Whatever u do in this game – u gaining mats and gold. Once u get enough gold – just buy precursor and gather mats.

I didnt care about legendarys cause they just to flashy. But one day i saw bolt and understood, that he would perfectly fit my character sylvary/saiyan theme.
