i keep saying to my friends that our heroes act like a bunch of bullies all the time.
I know, right? We run through, slaughtering people nonstop, never accepting surrender. What really gets me is when bandits or pirates say “Now I’ll never…” when they die. How many of those people were just trying to make ends meet in a troubled time! Not to mention the continuous and needless culling of non-violent animals in the wild. Or hopping into an ogre farm and killing all of them for some grapes. Joking about stabbing someone in the chest (which seems like a weird way to kill plant people) is hardly the worst thing we’ve done.
So….following your post….we, might as well, now go and kill all people in refuge camp, because we are, obviously, mad psychos, even worse, than Scarlet.
There is a line between story and gameplay. Its obvious, that we have to kill/farm to get anything in this game. But it doesnt mean, that we should abandon our moral standards.

Btw, they gonna sell tokens for copper, after glory removal, so, possibly, it could be a good idea to not waste your glory on tokens and w8 for the patch.

Unlike magic find stuff which mostly required people to invest their gold in order to get it I completely fail to understand why should ANet compensate players for something that was given away for free as a bonus o.O

But with lines like “Tyria will bow before a new master” it’s pretty plain to see any chances of scarlet being a more than a 2 dimensional villain character have been lost in order to appease the growing negative sentiment toward the character.
Well. Its still a possibility, that Scarlet didnt want us to think, that she was good. She wasnt gloryhunter like Kiel. She just did what has to be done. So one last help she could have given to Tyria is a Raised Morale. Like “Yay! We killed this evil Genius Scarlet! We beat Zhaitan! We can do anything!”

Nah everything was done thx to Treaharne. U all just was his minions and sidekicks. I bet u “heroes” did nothing. Cannons on this airship was autofiring. It just let u pull triggers, so u would feel special.
Did you see her Body in the end? The Orange stripes? Either it was already decomposing OR her death allowed Mordremoth to corrupt her or take over her body in some way.
They didn’t take her corpse with them so… its all open…
What so special about stripes? She is Sylvari. Did you see one at night? We are full of stripes of different colors. Its not corruption.
She already changed their color once. I wont be so surprised about changing shape and color again.
Killing Mordremoth would be considered a good thing. By, like… everybody. Why would she make an enemy of everyone in Tyria before killing Mordremoth? The two things wouldn’t even be linked. If her intent in the long run was to kill Mordremoth, she could have come forth with the info she’d found on his whereabouts and her ideas to kill him, and gotten HELP instead of doing everything herself while getting kitten wrecked by Lion’s Arch.
Captain counsel wont agree with ya. They had Mad Evil Genius with Bucking Gigant robots, Imba army and toxic weapons coming to them. And they was all like “meh…its a joke”

She woke the last dragon up. Not really what i call benevolant act. She destroyed a city, killed hundreds if not thousands over the past year, in no way at all, are her actions of any benefit to Tyria.
What if primordius is gonna start hunting? He would try to turn all life on world to ash. So….What dragon wouldn’t like it? Dragon, whose element is life! Like Mordremoth.
What if Tyria can’t possibly beat Primordius? Or Mordremoth? But… What if both dragons fight each other? Weaken each other? And then Tyria manages right strike at right time to kill both?
So she essentially sacrificed few to save everyone.

Btw…Story of lion arch…Captain counsel supposed to be quite rich. But, instead of paying for goods, they decided to rob the guy, whom they didnt even choose to be in counsel. Yomm, at least, was chosen in counsel and so it was his duty to defend lion arch. Evon…he is just random, but rich citizen. He owes them nothing.
You just need to start thinking outside of box and stop pigeonholing yourself. You have enough mobility to decap when needed, you have cc to help bring someone down, you have cc to help ressurect, you have invulnerability to stomp, you have aoes to abuse those on node. And you still have damage. Mesmer has the same role in team as thief.
Mesmer isnt very good at decap. To slow. Unlike thief, our burst Or to slow Or to obvious.
And u should clearly understand that all other roles would be much better completed by other classes.
Mesmers are great in team fights, they have mobility, stealth, invuln and ranged damage + support.

Mesmers have only combat mobility. Not very useful in conquest. Stealth isnt very useful in team fight, because they wont focus mesmer anyway. We not dealing any good aoe dmg or giving any vital support. We good at 1v1 fights, but…to slow at killing enemy in conquest mode. So…. we not bunkers. We not roamers, we not dps, we not support.
Anet should make new modes, but I hope they are not stupid enough to think making deathmatch is a good idea.
A lot of people are crying for it, but once they make it they legitimize it and the same people that were kittening about it about no deathmatch will turn around and whine how it is terrible and it will be terrible.

bringing in deathmatch will involve having to redesign skills and the way stats operate, I don’t see Anet having the balls to admit they messed up with the way conditions were set up and or having to redesign the whole classes.

You should be happy that teams are forced to take you for unique utility, yes you are forced to take portal, but i am forced to take corrupt boon to remove stability, and flesh wurm to just get out of burst. Yet team can just replace me with thief for these 2 things.
Every class is forced to take something to benefit most for their team but it doesnt neutralize their other functions. Or you want to say that 55 hp monks only benefit from Misha is hes portal? If yes then you havent seen him play.

Ye exactly, i followed rules the arenanet made, now you try to change the rules multiple turns later, why i should suffer from the fact that i did what game devs told me to do?
If you wanted them to not remove glory boosters then you had to make boycott when they announced it and i would join on it, now i will do everything to pull you with me for letting them drown me in first place.
Edit: Noone cared about glory boosters in first place, now when someone figured out that you could get something for them with no effort, everyone cries about how hard it was to accept free glory boosters.

Well maybe PVP is very hard for me and i would prefer 100 glory per booster for doing nothing instead of doing PVP, they said use them so i basicly all the time stacked 10 hours so i dont have to worry about it, who knows how many of them got wasted in my time of afk or doing something different than PVP.
The question is what YOU loose from glory removal, dont try to tell me that you worked hard for glory boosters but decided to not use them.

If you dont use them that means you dont need them, if you dont need them then dont cry about them beeing removed.
How u would be harmed, if we would get 100 glory per booster? Its way less, than what u get from your boosters.
I quit like… A month ago, Team High Warlord Sikari, me and my 5 minions of fury… still mess with the GW2 forums while I wait for Wildstar to come out, and hope it’s got decent updates and balance. Only time will tell, not getting my hope up but still pretty stoked.

This is just ridiculous. Not even all Asuras can control Gates. U should have graduated in college of Dynamics to be able to control gates. Yomm wasnt able to turn them on even to save his own life… so yeah…. Dunno what Evon meant by “got your back”. But there is no way some char could have just gone through, pressed a button, and then gates are off. Its just ridiculous.

And! At least Evon was there during the chaos doing something to benefit everyone. That merchandise on those dolyaks (which was quite unfairly confiscated, I might add) ended up saving a lot of people. Didn’t see Kiel anywhere.
Kiel was at Fort Marriner after she stole 1 of the Aertherblades Airship, she saved Magnus, the rest of the council, Canach and a lot of Lionguards.
Basically you can compare Kiel and Evon with Commander Shepard from the ME series. Both warned the council that the attack would come. But the council wouldnt listen.
During the attack Kiel decided to save the council and a lot of other people. (Paragon)
Evon decided to let the council die and save his ressources (Renegade, even tough Evon is a much bigger scumbag than Renegade Shepard)
Not exactly true. She stole this ship from US. We cleared the aetherblade dungeon and stole their aetherblade airship. Then, Kiel pulled “Trahearne” And suddenly its her ship and she cleared the dungeon. Yeah…
So…How did she use Airship? How many enemy airships she destroyed? How many times she returned to pick up citizens? Nah. She just leave us to deal with problems and picked up some buddy’s on her way out. And, unlike Evon, it was her job to defend lion arch. She failed twice this time. 1-st as captain council, 2-nd, as a member of lionguard.

They aren’t going to make Legendaries obsolete, so we don’t really have to play the ‘what-if’ game, anyway. If the person that brought up Legendaries wanted to use an in-game item for comparison, the Karma booster and Karma consumables incident would have been much more apt.
The problem is. There would be no way to recoup legendaries. Same, as there is no any rational way to recoup boosters. Thats my point. U can still get karma from events. So they had no reason to compensate karma boosters.
And there is no reason to compensate glory boosters. They gave a warning that glory was going away. We have known this for months. That was your notice to stop saving them and use them. If you chose to ignore the warning, that is your problem.
Answer this, if you knew glory was going away, why in the world would you still keep hoarding the boosters?

I am not even going to discuss legendries, it has nothing to do with the issue at hand and seems like a failed attempt at changing the subject. The subject is glory boosters. You could have used them, you only did dailies, so again that is your problem. Saving them for an imagined new game mode was a poor decision on your part and honestly makes no sense at all. Bottom line, you can delete them or keep them in your inventory as a souvenir. You made a bad decision so you are just going to have to live with it.

The problem is. There would be no way to recoup legendaries. Same, as there is no any rational way to recoup boosters. Thats my point. U can still get karma from events. So they had no reason to compensate karma boosters.
If they gave me 4 months notice they were going to make something obsolete, like a Legendary, I guess I would sell it, or salvage it for mats or whatever other option was presented in-game to alleviate my loss, as much as possible. Just as I would have done with Glory Boosters, or just like I did with Karma Boosters and their effect on Karma consumables.
Whom u would sell legendary? Notice would be for everyone… Such silly ideas…. And salvaging legendary…yeah…this 3 orichalcum would totally pay off for 3k gold u wasted on legendary…
So u basically saying, that its fine to delete any of your stuff without compensation. I guess, some people are Special.
But if we compare this to whats happening to glory there would be merchants selling all or atleast most gear for gold and other neat stuff I would need for PvE and WvW.

Yes glory booster will be rubbish but why do you still have them? You saved them? You got more than you could use?
I have saved alot of stuff in PvE like Captain’s Council Commendation wich I saved alot since I didn’t find them usefull at the time… But now I got over 500 and they are totaly useless… They havent even said if they will come back or not what I know of.
And the Vote badges, I converted my to 50/50 Evon and Ellen and I threw over 300 of these togheter just a few weeks ago.
I bought myself a Endelss continue coin for SAB and now I have over 70 regular continue coins that is totaly useless.
My girlfriend has a Dragon Jade ticket, she forgot to trade it and now it seems it’s useless.
Also the same with fortune scraps… I dunno if they will be back.
Can’t think of any more stuff but I think there is more.
1-st. As OP explained. He was saving them, w8-ing for a better game mode to be introduced, cause conquest mode is just mind-numbing. Same reason for me. I was w8-ing for a deathmatch mode myself. So i can use em when ill finally would be able to play hardcore and not casual.
U right only on Captain’s Council Commendations. They should have told, that they canceling them. I think, they even accepted their fault somewhere on forums.

Vote badges was used for voting. It was your right to vote for your candidate. And u used it.
Coins… I see no problem there. Same as limited finishers. They shouldnt delete the drop for everyone, just cause u bought unlimited one.
