chaos Storm can, yes; but may not reset pistol.
You come to the same point, pistol on mesmer is not enjoyable.
You can play word/torch, gs, staff, scepter, without a Need to switch the weapon.
but with pistol you just can’t.
at the point you switch, it doesn’t matter if you can reset the CD with chaos storm since you need to wait 10 sec. 33% won’t break the game:
Pistol/trait: on mesmer, as it is now, is not so cool.
I don’t know how you count, but [Bullet alone will halve its own cd when hitting and interrupting 2 people.] is wrong.

Duelist’s Discipline is not very enjoyable.
Reduce cooldown on interrupt is nice, but—->25% not rewarding enough.
25% seems huge, but even after 2 or 3 interrupt you have to switch the weapon even before enjoying the reduced cooldown, the effect seems not worthy.
what about 33% recharge.

may be piercing shot effect as solution, i don’t hink that it is too much to ask for the phantasm to hit the target, you want.

In full melee range this phantasm wil be pretty useless in both PvE and PvP
At least not everybody is blind.

The time some people proposed change on phantasm i knew already something like this would happen.
So I’m going to give you the ultimate idea.
I.Avenger should strike his shield on the ground, creating circle wave (call it echo of time i don’t mind) when striking the enemy or passing trough allies, deal damage and buffs.
We are playing an action’s game. So i don’t mind if the enemy can block or jump to avoid the wave. So you even give a purpose to jump, you make everybody happy, and you add a third dimensions move in pvp.
If you want to make it Op add a knock down on the wave. So simple it is.
Change idefender in the same way. He need even more the knockdown, as stopping the enemies.
This phantasm no longer shoots a bouncing projectile but instead initiates a melee attack that slows enemies and gives alacrity to allies within a 240 radius around the target.
This mean the phantasm now has to be near the enemy in order to activate his buff?
As long as the he doesn’t reach his target he won’t cast any buff?

may be you forgot about I-warden. This is now a run and die phantasm, but you are happy.

so they are reducing dmg from ther classes, but let an instant (without warning) 4k- 6k-8k damage skill running around?

Your build may not work as intended
Marauder Amulett + Persisting Image is a waste. They will still die very quickly.
But true you get some damage bonus. from Retaliation. what may be good as well.
Protect phantasm hmmm, if you play pvp ( since teh build is placed on pvp) you should better take restorative illusions. If not, you may be a martyr for condi.
Last thing, you will be very sad since at this time most of the strong people will clear this slow and cripple very fast. and you can not sustain it.
May be you should look for Power duration’s rune; and ignore the condi you afflict

This Event is more like an HIT and RUN.
This is crap, it is not focused on finishing 1 event but more hit some monster on each event.
It completly lose the sens of event. Hit and run nothing more.

I don’t agree, I don’t want Chronomancer to be easier than it is now.
If you want to land the skill, place it at thre right moment at the right place.
240 is enough, I though it was small, but it is enough, there is no need to increasce the size.
The well is quite fine as it is.
For the float, you want “float” so much?
Ask for a debuff on the enemy per puls caused by the gravity.
2 version:
.1rst: if the enemy get 3 puls—> 3 debuffs he get float for 1 sec at the end of the well.
.2nd: the enemy get a debuff per puls—→ cause 0,33 sec float per puls; activate when the well end or when they manage to leave the well.
So you have your “float”.
But as said before, I like how it is now. I don’t want it to be changed again. I found away to use it. You’ll find one aswell.
But stop asking for change on everything.

Not bad, but you did not post your build, traits, runes, siglis, and weapons used. I know i can see the weapon but still it would have helped.
Also did you use the same build for all 10 games?

Well, the base build was the same.
just rune and sigil variation to see what could be the best.
I also change the heal to know what is the most suited for me.
Combination with Mental Defense ; Illusionary Reversion and Echo of Memory is great.
You know: You block get defender and avenger. You shatter 2 you get 3 illusions; You shatter again, 1 still left. it is just awesome.
I hated it to rely on decoy. Really people search for you even if you don’t use decoy. It is great.
The gameplay of Chronomancer make you really feel like a true master of Illusion.
You gonna be a junky.

Phantasms with bounce-based projectiles do not work anet. This game isn’t balanced around 1v1s or smallscale encounters, bosses obliterate phantasms in a single swipe, and any block/dodge/blind/reflect/wiggle completely ruins the effect, leaving most of these phantasms on a rather long recharge before their next (likely failing) attack.
I understand if these phantasms are given bouncing attacks out of fear of them being too powerful. On paper, a phantasm that can remove 2 condis and boons per hit seems really strong, so is a phantasm that applies alacrity/slow and so is fury/burning. But in practice, giving these phantasms a bouncing projectile out of fear that any other application would be too strong is actually crippling them. It doesn’t matter how good it’s “supposed” to be if it never has a chance to actually work!BOUNCES DON’T WORK. SO WHAT DOES?
Phantasms with bouncing projectiles tend to offer a bonus to allies and a detriment to enemies, but more often than not they just tend to do nothing. The bounce often doesn’t even reach back to the Mesmer if they’re not within range, and that’s assuming the projectile ever hit in the first place. As a result, these phantasms have extremely situation application and tend to be nearly forgettable. Ontop of that there’s other problems with said phantasms.
- iDisenchanter has a low cooldown & and a fast attack rate. That’s all well and good, but it dies way too often and has the most obnoxious cast-time ever. Despite the fact that it’s effect is great, this is one of our worst Phantasms simply because of how it attacks. This phantasm only excels in small-scale fights of 3v3 or less, and even then it struggles.
- (Casts minor Null Field (one pulse), removing 2 condis and 2 boons every 6 seconds in an AoE)
- iMage is still forgettable, because while burning used to be cool.. One stack is pitiful compared to .. oh.. every other kitten thing that applies a condition! The fury rarely makes it back to the Mesmer, and even when it does it’s easy to go unnoticed.
- (Creates a line of purple fire that lasts 3s every 8s. Enemies that cross the line gain 2s of burning, allies gain 2s fury)
- iAvenger "FOR FREEDO- /miss. "STARS AND STRI- /block “GOOD WORK, SOLDIER!” Even when iAvenger hits, it’s only achievement is the slow it applies to an enemy. Then it just kind of sits there and happily dies thinking itself a martyr. If this phantasm is to be our only consistent method of sharing Alacrity, then by god please allow it to actually share some effing alacrity!
- (Raises shield and shouts " ’murica!" granting 2s Alacrity & inflicting 2s slow to all targets within 600r every 6 seconds)
What do you think? Do you not mind our bouncing phantasms or would you rather see them changed? If so what tweaks would you make?
So you want their attacks to be unblockable. I don’t agree.
It is fine to let people being able to block them. Better add some priorites than changing the skills (i think there are already some.)
You can still position yourself to be able to get what you want.
Why don’t the phantasms last long? Because we play inappropriate build in coordinaton with what is their purpose.

It is really a nice Special ability. But does it really need to prevent capture-point contribution?
I know following some Logic, you may say they; The Chronomancer leave the current time line, so it is like he is not here.
But let’s say his presence is real, his body is real, so there is no reason not to be able to capture point.
I mean the ability is no the prefect one;
The condi you have on you won’t be erased. You are not Invulnerable
The Continuum Split itself can be destroyed
You just need to be knocked back and you will lose 3 sec.
So there is really no real reason to have “Prevents Capture-Point Contribution” on the ability.
i tested it; it is very usefull, (true) but hard to handle. You have to know exactly, ahead of time what you will do in the split.
“Prevents Capture-Point Contribution” has no place there

NO, the Shield skills are fine how they are now. Summoning a Illusion on Block, is a mesmer Trademark. It also help you to keep Illusions up.
I was already insulted as OP and such. People are takling about nerf, but i really don’t know if chronomancer are that OP.
I didn’t participate to the first Beta, and 80% of the Chrono that i met lost to my simple mesmer.
So, i don’t really know if they are Op.
I guess we can call the build i played a Phantasm based build. Even without decoy it is fairly hard to follow the chronomancer. It feels so great having illusions everywhere.
Wells:
Wells should maybe have 4 puls.
240 radius feel small, but if you can handle it, they are terrifying.
Elite:
Well of gravity seems weak if you look at it, but combine it with well of calamiry; recall or action and you get something great. Supported with Powerblock and Delayed reaction, it is a pain for the enemy.
Echo of Memory:
This Block is weak, as most the mesmer’s Block. You block the first attack and get all others Hit. I don’t say it is useless, it is just a weak block. But Déjà-vu and the summoned phantasm are usefull if you don’t play a glass build.
Shied with Chronomancer really don’t suit to glass build. you may be able to do great things, but…. having your phantasm dying to quick is just too sad.
Tides of Time:
This is the best, epic, shield skill ever seen. This is just too sweet and too great.
I hope it won’t be changed. You know when you use it; you feel safe.

From this used the wrong well, not that it wasn’t a good combination but still; it should have been Well of Calamity instead of Well of Recall.
Since i didn’t read the description of Continuum Split (idiot as i am) I was wondering why do i gradualy lose the captured point. So yes, Continuum Split prevents capture point. (srsly Mr and Ms dev: this is not needed; It is hard enough to correctly use it)

Slot 8 can be used for everything you want.
I tried mostly all kind of build and weapon combi.
I found out that you better play some tanky build with shield.
Domination trait: to remove people boons and inflict vulnerabilty. Power block is nice.
Inspiration trait: condi clean, heal.
And Chronomancer: Slow on interrupt (work fine with well of gravity), with illusionary reverson and Chronophantasma, you don’t need DE anymore.
I tried all kind of heal with the build. Since you can keep 2-3 Illusion up most of the time, i saw the Signet as the best possibility.

I think you are not doing well with the expansion, It was very impressive as you talked about it some months ago, most of the people were hyped for it.
But with your current politic; (Showing a bit, a bit, and a bit); you are destroying the “we are amazed” effect.
The day you will release it, it will just be an add on nothing more. People won’t hang on it.
People are getting bored, it is not entertaining anymore what you are doing.
If you want to amaze customers, you give them a beautiful flash.
I mean if you want somebody to eat your dish with love. As you are cooking it; you don’t give him some meat, some vegetables, some beans from the dish. Because the time you finished it, he already ate and is not hungry anymore.

i don’t know really know what you mean by farmer; but i do like playing pvp it is fun. I play for fun not for farming.
I thought: everybody has a lot of them, so maybe we could get some trade for 100 or 50 of them.

So playing some pvp they began to gather.
please could we get some other use for a couple of them?

To all the genius people in this thread and elsewhere… Mirror Blade is something that you can DODGE hilariously easily.
If Anet follows their present route of nerfing every class that can burst, you will have a glorious celestial meta again, where eles are going through endless rotations and barely damage each other, cleanse all conditions, engis will quietly get their range back so they don’t feel left out and then all you still need is the shoutbow since Anet will have to fix the warriors (they cannot stay in this rampage or gtfo state).
Too bad that the celestial meta is plain boring as kitten.
Most mesmers know this however most of these genius people also know how things work. Frankly if this is the only thing we get reduced in damage and the mantra modifier (which I don’t really think needed nerfing) then that’s great.
They could have reduced the 15% baseline on phantasms, reduced MW by 10%, removed fragility, nerfed master fencer and a whole host of other things and believe me those are a lot stronger than a 1.5k extra bounce.
