[GDz]The GodDogz
Casual mostly PvE guild, but we dabble in a little of everything.
Our core group has been together for going on 10 years now in multiple games.
We are small, but that’s by design. We want to know our members!
We have few restrictions/requirements, other then TeamSpeak3 as we find it almost essential
and honestly, we spend as much time on TS shooting the breeze as playing, LOL!

Most of our members are in the North East/US, but we do have members from many locations.
Server= Fort Aspenwood
Website = http://guildwars2.goddogz.com/forumGW2/ (a work in progress)

If you want to be a Guild Member, and not just another name on a list somewhere, PM me here, in game, or drop us a note on the website.
I am useally on between 8 PM to 3 AM EST. (Yes, I have strange hours but not all of our members do, LOL!)

If anything, I have seen a huge increase in bots. Email from gold sellers still coming in strong (how about an option to block all email execpt from guild members or the game itself?).
Some areas are almost unplayable due to the number of bot teams running around. I do get some enjoyment from some of them, if you see a group of bots, try leading a few mobs over to “play” with them. I have gotten a few whole bot teams wiped out, LOL!
Some of these are so easy to spot, it’s not funny, even the player names. In the beginning char are are a half dozen or so all with similier charactor names, and the player names are all "oldwomen.123, oldwomen.456, etc. It should take all of 10 seconds for a GM to tell these are automated bots, but they have been there for days.

If you recieved an email telling you someone loged in from a different IP address and it was not you, change your password ASAP. That means the person who logged in has both your username and password. The only thing stopping them from taking over your account completly was that email authentication.

Don’t always trust what the banks/credit card companies tell you. I have had similier experiances, where it turned out it was the credit card companies codes that where screwey. Some have a “gaming” catagory, in which they put video game companies in as well as casinos. They see the word “game”, and automaticlly put it in to thier catagory that their system deems is a match. Next time you talk to your bank, ask them if they have a video game or other gameing catagories, or if they throw them all in to one big pile.

And of course, something to brag, not very annoying like the commander icon but maybe a title

You do realise the commander icon is not a bragging icon? It’s meant to be used to direct people around in battle…

And how many battles are there in Lions Arch? ;-)

Gail, correct me if I’m wrong, but this sounds like the posters above purchased an invalid key meant for a different region, so now when they are trying to use a legitimate key from the correct region, it is being rejected. Does this sound right?

It’s pretty obvoiuse why it is done this way. It’s to discourage server hopping. Can you imagine what a mess WvW would be if guilds could jump from one server to the next with no penelty? I am a guild leader myself, and have no problem with this system and actually think it was very well thought out.

While I am basically happy with the account authentication features, anet did make one VERY big mistake. By using our account names as our user names here on the forums (and so easy to see in game), half the protection is gone from the start. Since our user names are there for all to see both here and in game, thay should not be used as our logins as well. It’s much easier to hack an account when you already know half the info you need right from the start.

I made this same suggestion to a couple of guildies last night after getting another round of gold seller spam in my inbox. My guildies very quickly shot it down with some of the same reasons stated above. The main problem with disabling player to player trades is it simply would not work. There are plenty of ways to get around it, the simplest being just to use the guild bank. Example, I sell you gold. I deposit it in my guild bank, invite you to the guild and give you permission to withdraw the gold, kick you from the guild.

I want to disable Email Authentication. How?

The first week the game was live I got a message that someone from abu dhabi tried to log on to my account. I also changed my password on the spot. I would hate to think what could have happened if I had not had the authentication enabled. There was a bug or something last week where it was asking me to verify every time I logged on, but it stopped, and it was a small price to pay to know my account is safe. I would even love to see it taken a step further and have a text message sent to my cell phone when an unknown login is attempted.
You have to remember, if you get the message of a login from a strange location, it means they already have both your login and password. Without authentication, your account is in the hands of someone else, your money and materials are probobly gone, your guild my be destroyed, toons deleted, etc. If you have authentication enabled and they get your login and password, you change your password, and continue to play.

That happened to me as well the first week the game was live. Anet’s email verification is one of the best features I have seen in an MMO. A player would have to be crazy to disable it.

If you have not already done so, change your password ASAP.

It seems like something is wrong with the system. Several of my guildies and I are being prompted each and every time we try to log on. It “should” be just a single prompt from any new IP once you OK a connection and select the remember connection option.

I have had similier things happen several times before, even back in the betas.
I have finished a quest, went to warp to a waypoint and the client crashed.
Went back in, and I was at the point before I did the quest. It almost appeared as if the client had lost communication or stopped syncing with the server, so the last few changes on the client where not saved, atleast that is how it appeared.
