If it helps, don’t compact your bags. Put items you want to keep in the lower bag slots to avoid salvaging things you want to keep.
.
That is what I do as well as using an invisible bag so I can’t accidently sell an item.
What? 0.o i still manage to do my daily randomly at times.. and when i look at the list i can finish it in 20mins tops..
Just teleport where you need to and do what you are supposed to do… -.-
And there is the whole problem right there.
The dailies where supposed to be something that you would do simply by playing the game the way you wanted to play it. They where just a little incentive to log on and play. Nothing more. They have now turned in to the main focus of a lot of players game time.
If your starting as a new human player, is it right to make you go to the norn or charr areas to finish their dailies? If that is required, and yes, I said REQUIRED, then how are they able to play the way they want? The laurels where a good idea, implemented badly by tying them in to the dailies. They dailies are no longer just something you would do by normally playing, they are now a completely separate entity on their own just like dungeons or fractals. Poor decisions by the devs all the way around.
And BTW, I have no problem doing the dailies each day, but it IS a separate job now, so I have to choose do I do the dailies, or play with my friends.
You would only automatically receive it on a newly created character.
You can also go to the karma merchant Scornheart at Hooligan’s Route in Lion’s Arch and get one for free at any time.
Really , so if gw2 add pk style u all have a special heart attack?
The pve players , are only a base of hellokity games nothing more.
1) all u do is pve , cause u cant pvp another one, why? u are afraid and a terrible pvp player.
2) The pve players never want to do pvp , cause they skill play is terrible they only want to figths mobs , cause mobs cant think really and vs another player they fell inferior.
Been there, done that. Never lost a duel, not once. #1 ranked player on a PvP only server. Personally, I stick to PvE now as the PvP players are usually the worst the internet has to offer. Rude, obnoxious, egotistical, you name it. I play games to have fun, not fight with some 13 year old with delusions of grandeur. Spend 5 minutes in WvW and listen to some of the map chat, it’s disgusting.
I find it funny that so many people complain about a system that doesn’t exist. No one is saying that a duel system has to be based around invites. It could be exactly the same system as Costume Brawl. I.e. you set up a (free) “duel box”, and other players can then accept your duel by using the same box.
Which would duels still allow to happen in places where I don’t want them. Keep those anoying effects and sounds out of my field of view, allow them only in certain areas and you can have it, otherwise I am and will always be a no.
Yet people already have costume brawls everywhere, there’s always a box of fun in a city which creates a lot of sound and effects. There’s always people spamming their skills to show off the animations of their weapons, there’s always people using portals and portal guns and even more people using them.
The reasons you guys don’t want dueling are some of the most absurd ones I’ve ever heard.
I mean seriously, of all the things to whine and complain and stamp your feet about it’s combat animations?
" Well I don’t want someone using an ability when I feel they shouldn’t so forget what they want even though it doesn’t even affect me since I can turn duel requests off.
Since I don’t want it no one should have it ever!" /crying tears etc etcThis is basically how this reads.
There have been many reasons, and many suggestions made. The main issue is this has been talked about to death. Players have already gone over and over the different reasons and different compromises proposed in many threads in many sub forums. Myself, at this point, I just do not feel like going over the whole discussion again for the umpteenth time. If you really want to know, read the forums instead of starting new threads. Asking the same question over and over and expecting to get a different answer is usually thought of as a sign of insanity.

I’m not sure if this was directed at me or not, so I’m going to skip the small novel. If it’s the same reasons that are being gone over in this thread, then they are going to have to do better than that.
Sorry, I am not going to read the forums to you. If you can’t take the time to read them yourself, then you are in the wrong place.
No one asked you to, and I’m not going to read a 5 page long old thread when there is a new thread right here. If you don’t like the conversation, go post somewhere else and leave this one to people who would actually like to discuss addition of content rather than putting down other people because they have different ideas than you.
Thanks.
It’s been discussed. No need to rehash it over and over again in a new thread when the old thread is still there. That is why the mods have to keep moving these threads and merging them because some people are just to lazy to bother reading.

I usually always side with the user, but in your case I just can’t. If they are getting your password that many times, then somehow you are compromised. You changed your password for the game, have you changed your password on your email account as well?
Yes, I have. If anyone else would like to treat me like an idiot and ask me or tell me to do something that I’ve already done please go ahead and get it over with because that’s so totally why I wrote this thread.
People are trying to suggest ways to help you. They don’t know what you may or may not have done to resolve this or your level of computer competence. Being rude to people who are trying to help will deter others who have suggestions you haven’t tried or thought of.

FYI, I do not think it is account related, as I put your name (Im Teh Pwnzor) and I can see your info just fine as well.
Works fine for me in both Firefox 20 and IE10. Tested on 2 separate computers with 2 different character names from 2 separate accounts.
Windows 7 Pro and Windows Server 2008.
That’s very odd. I just tried it on both firefox 20 and IE10 on 2 different computers, 2 different character names, and it works fine for me?
Basically, Anet does not give warnings for anything.
How peachy.
I run multiple gaming servers, and that single word earns a player a lifetime ban from all of them instantly, automatically and with no chance of an appeal.
No offense, but that’s really, really harsh. You would instantly permaban someone from a game server AUTOMATICALLY with NO CHANCE FOR APPEAL for just saying the N word? What kind of environment does that encourage?
I would think that players would be afraid to utter the wrong phrase for fear of being PERMANENTLY BANNED.
That’s outrageous in ANY community, let alone a gaming community.
On my servers we have players as young as 5 years old. All players know that NO foul/inappropriate language of any kind will be tolerated. They are given a screen at their first login stating the rules and that they are family friendly servers that they have to agree to in order to continue, and there are pop up reminders between loading screens as well that rotate.
I am honestly really quite shocked to find that the word carries such horrible consequences and social stigma within the U.S.
I guess maybe it has something to do with the fact we oppressed our native population of aborigines on an absolutely disgusting scale. There’s not really a word like the N word that we have though.
Words only have power if we give it to them. They are either exaggerating to try and make you feel worse, or they live an extremely sheltered life. That word is used everywhere here, mostly by teens, in the exact same joking manner. I’m not saying it isn’t frowned upon by adults or that its okay to say, but that word is most certainly used quite a bit in the US.
Ignore gassy, I think he’s trolling or in lala-land but he has a habit of not understanding the situation and posting condescending nonsense. He spends so much time in this forum that he should probably play the game instead of telling people how to behave in it.
You must live in a very bad part of town if you think that word is just a joke, and any teens who think so are just a comment on bad parenting. Gassy’s comment is pretty much right on the money. The op SHOULD be ashamed of himself.
There is NO excuse for using that word in public chat in an online game and nothing can change that. The suspension was more then justified, so really this whole thread is rather pointless.
Basically, Anet does not give warnings for anything. They have stated that in the past they have found warnings are ineffective and take more resources as players want to argue the point. Currently the TOS is considered your warning what will happen, and that is the only one given. As I have said previously, what you said is probably one of the worst possible things you could say. I run multiple gaming servers, and that single word earns a player a lifetime ban from all of them instantly, automatically and with no chance of an appeal.
In a nutshell, the rules are clear, violate them and you receive the standard suspension all are given. They do not look at the chat channel and say “this word is not as bad as that word, so lets only suspend him for an hour”. If they gave out punishments according to what was said, you would probably have your account terminated so you are lucky it is a standard suspension for all.
I guess maybe it’s a cultural thing.
Australia really doesn’t give much of a kitten. We’re laid back, I suppose.
That may be. Here in the US, it’s probably one of the top worse things you can say.
Sometimes I am the last man standing, and sometimes the first to go down.
It all depends on what I am doing. If I attack at range, I can outlast most of the party, if I melee, I’m going to die, simple as that.
I am shocked someone would use that word, get rightfully suspended for using it, then actually try to appeal it. Far less offensive things have been said and the appeals denied.
Actually, I do not think I have ever seen an appeal for language actually amount to anything, except Gail saying what was said was offensive, and the suspension deserved, which is what I expect to see here as well. ;-)
Hacked, even with an Authenticator... How!?

Posted by: ShiningSquirrel.3751
I can’t speak for the authenticator as I do not use it, but from what you describe, it sounds like that had access to your email account. They could then just ask for a password reset. Just in case, I would change the email password if you have not done it already.
While I agree WvW should not be part of map completion, you can do it with patience. I hate WvW with a passion, just can’t stand it and will never enter it again unless absolutely necessary, but I still got the title. I did everything I could, then just waited. Each day I would check the map, and little by little I was able to get all the points I needed, either by the server changing colors, or our server claiming points.
If there was a point I needed and the players from my server where attacking it, I would help out to the best of my abilities as it was to my benefit. My advice is have patience, keep trying, and sooner or later you will get it.
Is this acceptable? I don't think so....

Posted by: ShiningSquirrel.3751
I agree with Inculpatus cedo, it does sound strange, and if it is the case that they have to go back that far, then I also agree with the op, that is unacceptable.
As for blaming the op, please go away. It is getting tiring seeing posts like that time and time again. Every time an account is compromised, some one will almost always say “scan your computer, it’s your fault for using an insecure password”, etc.
The first point, “scan your computer”. The op will scan their computer and find nothing. This means either there was nothing there so that was not how it happened, or the keylogger or whatever is still there. If the computer was still infected, their accou8nt would go down again as soon as they recovered it. That pretty much rules out the Trojans/keyloggers for most of these. Blaming the op for using an insecure password? Please! I work in the computer security field. I am the person who sets the password security that others have to follow. My passwords are always unique, never reused, and always complex. My account was compromised within a couple of days of launch. They had my password and login. The only computer used for the game was a brand new dedicated gaming machine. Luckily for me I had the email verification enabled so it was not a real issue, but they did somehow get both my login and password. I work with companies tracking down and reporting phishing sites/emails/scams/etc. I know for a fact they did not get my password from my computer or some site I Iogged in to with it, a phishing email, a bad link etc. They still where able to get it.
They also dont care bout things said in party-chat and guildchat
So you can swear like a drunk sailor in party and guild chat, but not anywhere else GW2 or Anet related? Um, can I have source material or something that proves this please? I want to believe it.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Filter-for-what/first#post1655981
There you go :P
Off course if your the owner of that backyard BBQ (in gw2 terms the guildleader) you have full rights to kick anyone you don’t like. It is why many guilds have a rule bout language and behaviour in the guildchat.
Your reading more in to that response then you should. That is NOT saying it’s alright to swear in guild chat or any where else. It’s just that it’s a lot less likely you will be reported, that’s all. If your in guild or party chat and another person reports you, you will be sitting it out for 3 days just like you would anywhere else. Bottom line, unless your in chat with friends who you know do not mind and will not report you, it’s best to keep the language toned down. If this is NOT correct and it is OK to swear as much as you want in parties or guild chat, then someone from anet needs to spell that out clearly.
And I do laugh every time one of these threads show up, usually the op will say they said nothing wrong, then Gail comes in, says o yes you did, you deserve the suspension. People must think no one actually bothers to read the logs, LOL!
(edited by ShiningSquirrel.3751)
Remember, this is Guild Wars, LOL!
I disagree with you guys….it is almost impossible to judge a person’s charactor without ever seeing or hearing them or actually knowing ANYTHING about them.
With the advent of stores in about every game, those pixels actually have monetary value now. He actually stole something….stores allow access to goods but arrest for shoplifting if you rip them off.
I think the thief should be arrested and jailed…but would be happy with him returning the items and being blackballed ,
Actually, he “stole” nothing. He was given access to the bank, that is permission to take whatever he wants, whenever he wants. If the guild leader gave him full access, then the guild leader is the person you would need to speak too. This type of thing is one of the reasons we never got guild storage in GW1, and why in GW2 it is the guild leaders responsibility to maintain and secure the guild bank. I am a guild leader, and the ONLY people who have access to withdraw from our guild bank are people I have known for years. If your a guild leader and you give access to some faceless person you met a few weeks ago online, then it’s YOUR responsibility and you should be willing to reimburse the guild for any lose to due to your mis-management of their resources.
If as others have mentioned, his account was hacked, well then that’s a completely different story.
Your friend has already opened a support ticket so there is no reason for you to post here in the forums.

@ShiningSquirrel
Some members never comeback or leave for months at a time. An active and lively guild is important for most guilds I’ve been in. Otherwise, you’re just a random group of people.
Read my post again. If you have a guild of 400+ people and don’t even know who they are, they are nothing but a random group of people.
Guilds should be made up of friends or people you like to play with, not random people invited by spamming chat. If you feel you have to delete someone who has not been on for a few months, then they where not your friend, and you really did not know them, so why where they even in the guild in the first place? just to fill a spot?
idon’t see why those guys have to take away from having an option to duel if there is an auto decline feature
I don’t think they have to, if dueling is implemented the way we’ve discussed.
General question to those of us here on the anti side of this debate: do any of you have a problem with an arena type solution with an auto-decline checkbox in the options tab?
I have already said my opinion, but I’ll answer anyway. No problem with arenas. Auto ignore? yeah, good idea.
I log on many days without getting an achievement point, so I guess the fact that I am one of the most active members would not make a difference. Seems like it’s not a good system to use to kick players by.
But then again, I did not play for 2 weeks due to my pet being injured and having more important RL things to deal with, so again, so I guess that’s a good reason to kick me as well. I guess I should be careful when I go on vacation this year and make sure to take my computer with me.
But oh wait, since I am the guild leader of 1 guild, and a member of another that does not micro manage, I don’t have to worry about it. ;-)It’s nice not to be in a “mega” guild that is to big for it’s own good, LOL!
the thing is you get an achievement point every time you do something from the list of your daily things. Chances are if you’re active you will end up doing something from it. So it’s an okay system to judge stuff from.
I log on many time without finishing anything in the dailies, believe it or not, some people do not actually do their dailies each day! ;-)
You do also know that just logging on gives your guild influence?
People are going to use some kind of system to monitor their guild. The problem I have with any of them is the attitude of some guild leaders. You must represent 100% and log in every day, etc. This is an MMORPG that you should be able to put down for a while and then come back to. There are just to many guild leaders who are fanatics. OMG, this player has not logged in for 30 day! kick him! Is it really that important? Is having a guild of 400+ players really doing you any good that you have to kick players who may have taken a break? I see no reason to have a guild of more then 50 players, tops. If you don’t even know the names or anything about these players in your guild, why are they in your guild? If they are in your guild, why don’t you know when they will be away for awhile? As a guild leader, when was the last time you spoke to each of your members besides sending nasty notes to remind them to represent? Do you know anything about them? Their real names? Age? I bet not.
Knowing when someone last logged on can be useful for deciding who to promote, using it to decide who to get rid of is “not so much”.
I just don’t care for these mega guilds that care more about numbers then anything else.
Our guild always had 1 simple rule in all games we played. Once a member, always a member.
I think there is a miscommunication between both sides here.
For months, most of the posts for dueling have been asking for open world PvP.
Pretty much duel anywhere, anytime. If that is not what the posters here are asking for, they need to be a bit more clear.
I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but if players went to go duel in an arena, more power to them. Out of sight, out of mind. In GW1 we used to do it all the time in our guild hall. Dueling anywhere? NO!
In a ga,e I played years ago, can’t even remember the name, if you wanted to duel, you turned on the option. It would show other players you where looking. 2 players meet, they both accept the duel, they disappear in to an instance. That would be fine, and I can’t see any reason the duelists would reject that.
First time you visit the forum I see
Then you clearly do not see.
And can’t you just see what would happen if they did add duels?
“x class is to powerful, nerf them”.
“y has an unfair advantage because they have x,y,z”.
“Anet needs to balance skills so all classes are equal in duels”.
“Heavy armor is to strong,”.
“Light armor is to weak”.
“my rare armored ele can’t stay alive when fighting an exotic out fitted warrior”.Oh the joy!
I have played games with dueling. I don’t play them any longer.
Enough said. You most likely won’t be playing GW2 much longer than. It is a known fact that custom arenas will be added to the game and one of those reasons is specifically to add dueling, which the developers think is a good and necessary part of an MMO.
So, is it REALLY worth quitting over dueling if you like the rest of the game?
I would have no reason to ever go in to a custom arena, so what is done there I could not really care less about, so your question really makes no sense.
You may want to go back and read the rest of the thread and see what it actually is that the players asking for dueling really want.
it seems to me like the Anti-duel side is composed of people who only want things to be their way
I would much rather have them fix the bugs and work on expansions that ALL players can enjoy then wasting resources on trying to make a small group of players happy.
like i said…..
The anti-duel side is composed of people who only want things their way.
So stating my preference is “only wanting it my way?” LOL!
Well, I guess the rest of your comments can be skipped over now as anything else you have to say is pretty much meaningless to me.yeah…
when your “preference” is to completely skip an option that alot of player want simply because you don’t want to see it, or you don’t want to be spammed with duel requests when we’ve already proposed a filter for duel requests then yeah…. you obviously only want it your way
“a lot of players want” is your opinion. The results of past threads speak differently.
I never said “I don’t want to see it”.
I never said anything about being spammed with requests.
I never said anything about a filter.
Please don’t attempt to make your point by putting words in other posters mouths. It’s rude and simply shows a weakness in your arguments.
BTW, have you ever heard of the term “the pot calling the kettle black”?
You have made it very clear you want things your way. It’s so easy to project your own failings on others.
I have to stop responding to your posts, as I am getting very close to getting an infraction. ;-)

As opposed to the duel, mounts, raids, armor progression, etc players who do not want things their own way? LOL!
Why is there even another thread for this?
Are the other 500 threads not enough?
Do the players think the devs have not seen their other hundreds of posts?
Do we have to keep discussing the same things over and over again?
OK, a hand full of players post on the forums asking for duels. The majority of players responding to the many, many threads on the subject have responded that they did not want duels. Do you really expect the devs to develop a feature that only a small number of players want?
I would much rather have them fix the bugs and work on expansions that ALL players can enjoy then wasting resources on trying to make a small group of players happy.
I purchased the new pick just to free up bag space, nothing more.
GW1 = ele
GW2 = human ele
Slight variation in the name, but they could be brothers, even have the same hair style.

Anet has never restored items to players. Even in GW1 when they had server roll backs, errors, etc. They have stated that it is a function that they do not even build in to the game, if that has changed, only they can answer.
By any chance, was your inventory full and did you switch weapons? I am not sure on the details, but there was a bug that would cause your equipped item to disappear if that was the case.
For restoring whole accounts for lost items, an account restoration is given once and only once over the life of an account. They have stated pretty clearly that restorations are only done in the case of an account being hacked. It’s tough, it happens, (it has even happened with legendries) it has happened to me as well, and it happens in many online games. Nothing you can really do about it. Sorry for your lose, but you still have time to try for the skin again.
Hence the problem with horizontal progression. Going after different “skins” is great, but you can only wear one set of armor at the time. Eventually you’re going to settle on what you like, and then what? There’s nothing else to do on a character.
Except play the game. That is what GW is supposed to be all about. You level, outfit your toon, then just play. It worked in GW1 for 7 years.
What worked in GW1 was:
- Four PvE campaigns to complete, with two difficulty modes.
- Infinite combinations of professions and skills and compositions to test out
- Numerous PvP modes to play, some just to be the biggest fish in the pond, others to grind out things useful for PvE, or to exchange for money.
- Armor skins you could farm (and not get hit by DR) mats to craft
- An instance that actually changed as you progressed, reflecting your deeds (the Hall of Monuments)
I’d like to “just play” in GW2, but all it really seems to offer to the goal-oriented is CoF path 1. The activities in my list felt a lot less meandering.
Most of what you are describing where additions to the game with expansions. The original game was MUCH different from what you are describing. For example, they have not even come out with the first expansion for GW2 yet so saying you had 4 expansions in GW1 really is not a valid argument.
Yeah I agree the game needs gear progression, without gear progression there’s basically no reason to run dungeons since you can get crafted gear that’s equally as good as the dungeon gear. Without gear progression this is why half the community hasn’t even ran Arah, instead they just run CoF over and over again.
It’s not supposed to be about the stats, your supposed to run the dungeons to get the skins. If your not interested in the skins and do not have fun doing the dungeons, then you need to find something else that is fun to do. I left the game because there was nothing for me to do, then I got invited to a guild with an old friend and I am playing again and having fun again.
My toon is complete, I have the armor, weapons and skins I want. When I play now and do dungeons, I do them for the fun of it. When not doing dungeons, I ran around with a low level alt helping my friends level their alts. I don’t have to worry about getting more equipment. If I find something good, I think about what my alts could use.
This is the way we played in GW1, this is why a large portion of the players purchased GW2. This is how Anet made the game, and this is the way we like it. If you don’t like it, I really don’t know what to tell you without getting infracted by the mods.

GW2 was created as a game with horizontal progression, it was advertised as a game with horizontal progression and it was sold as a game with horizontal progression.
Players coming in now and complaining that they don’t like horizontal progression really have nothing to complain about. The arguments that “the other games has this, the other game has that” are not valid and meaningless. This is not the other game.
