Hi, I’m one of the guild leaders for [GH]. We are feeling really guilty about the circumstances in which we took the bay in NSP BL from SBI. I just wanted to put it out here before we got called out on it that we did not intentionally try to steal your bay using a glitching mesmer.

Inside of GH, we have several thief/mesmer combos that specialize in sneaking in and hiding in enemy keeps. The mesmer who portalled us into your fully upgraded bay was in our TS channel, but he was not GH, he did so illegitimately, and our commanders on at the time did not realize this was the case until after the same mesmer pulled the same stunt to get back our bay on home borderland before somehow finding himself in an enemy keep (that no one had touched) yet again in NSP BL.

He has since been reported by the GH community and the other guild leaders on ebay have been warned.

Again my sincerest apologies.

You guys are really competitive throughout the day. I actually spent over 6 hours on EBBL today and you guys had great numbers all afternoon and evening and it was back and forth all day. We wiped 73 times at your garrison and we wiped you 73 times at Hills. Enjoy those moments and not the ones with the huge population disparity.

This is somewhat difficult to do when all my moments are the ones with the huge population disparity.

Wanted: oceanics with balls.

Then that’s where you need to make a decision as a player if you’re playing in the oceanic time zone.
Do the weeks against servers like ours who can put out large oceanic numbers impact your gameplay enough to warrant a transfer to a server that would better suit your needs as a WvW player?
Or do you get enough good fights in weeks when you aren’t facing t2 or t3 servers to warrant staying?
I personally play mostly in SEA, and am happy with SBI’s large SEA population that can queue a few maps a lot of times. If I were on a server with almost no SEA players, I would look at my options.
I know this week will be awful for EBay and NSP in off hours. I do feel for you guys.

I feel no sadness for the queues of the tier 1 servers.
You’ve all created your own problems, and you’re all unwilling to stop.
You steal guilds and population from every other server then expect sympathy?

Don’t worry, there is no big diference in Exotic vs Ascended, just play the game and you will easly earn Ascended trinkets.

About WvW ranks, they mean anything, as if you play in a server that outnumbers your opponent a lot and you can only pvd, that server will have players with huge ranks, as WXP experience(mostly) comes from capping towers/keeps.

Thanks for the reply. Can I earn Ascended gear doing WvW, and if so, is it a viable method to earn it? I never was too impressed with Fractals enough to farm it over and over.

Your ascended weapons come from crafting.
Ascended earrings come from guild missions. (Or laurels)
Ascended rings and amulet come from laurels(dailies and monthlies)
Ascended back piece comes from fractals. (Apparently ANet working on making ascended back piece available through WvW)

There’s a small chance ascended equipment can drop in WvW or from the wxp level-up bonus chests, but I wouldn’t count on that.

Sorry, not much you can do really. It’s a reflection of the population and coverage differences of the 2 servers.
I’m sure everyone on SBI would rather have constant matches versus FA, SoS, Mag, maybe even YB now(?).
It’s hard to expect our people ‘not’ to play a game they enjoy simply because your server isn’t populous at certain times of the day.
We experienced the same thing 2 weeks ago versus SoR.

[TE] is pretty awesome.
They run excellent commanders all hours of the day. Their commanders are good to run with whether you’re an experienced WvW’er or someone new to the WvW scene.
Glad to have them on SBI. They are one of the backbone guilds vital to the success of our server in WvW. They are very active in our WvW community.
They work well with other great WvW guilds on SBI. They actually work so well with [DR] and [Bæst] on a map that sometimes I wish I had a spectator mode.

Anyone looking for a great WvW experience should definitely give [TE] a look. =)

I managed to stay on for the first 3 hours of reset before I had to come to work, and we held the north camp for all 3 hours. Not without difficulty though…

We face every single guild from SBI, TE Abyss BEAST, and the others, none can took back their BAY, when [BOMB] was online ^^

Now i have to say maybe the warrior commander from TE was the most hard to kill, and i have to say BEAST was the team more hard to kill.

But at the end all die, we die too but come on SBI die more ^^ in open field battle from the 4 days maybe the score its 70-20, and on shoke point most be 20-20.

You guys really know what to do in shoke points ¬_¬

Anyways [BOMB] has a blast this week, we are waiting for the next time we face you SBI maybe you got better ^^

It’s awesome you had fun but everything you do now are things you could’ve been doing for the past few months. How can you double your kill count in one night? Do you mean your kill count on your League achievements? It would’ve been great to see some of you PvErs around before they start giving some arbitrary reward. I hope you do stick around and defy the norm for PvErs, especially when we need numbers once we’re back in T2 rank/Gold league.

I stopped playing WvW around when they took out Culling. Instead I decided to focus on lvling my toons to 80 and gearing them up so I was more use on the battlefield. I’ve always enjoyed WvW, but wanted to be more use and have more options.

By doubling my kill count, I mean overall and not for the achievement. I’m more of a PvXer than a PvE person.. I do sPvP occasionally and as I’ve stated above, done some WvW as well. Before last night my kills were only above the 100 range… now it’s over the 200 range. I enjoyed it.

Furthermore, I do intend to play more WvW now and moving on. The rewards are good, it’s fun, and it’s a good change of pace.

That’s awesome, congrats.
Hopefully there are more like yourself out there.
Servers like ours need all the help we can get against those T1 servers.

Plenty of reasons why SBI lost this match and it has nothing to do with coverage or numbers. But I always learned more from a loss than a win so this is a good opportunity for your server to reflect and improve. ANET changed absolutely nothing about wvw it terms of fairness and addressing imbalances, all that happened was the inclusion of achievement points to give the illusion that they actually care about wvw. Oh and the top three servers in every league get a dolyak finisher woohoo. If you liked wvw before the league nothing has changed if you thought it was garbage before nothing has changed. I am sure anet has some pretty numbers they can show investors saying oh look at that spike in activity in wvw and the game in general we are doing fantastic improvements to the game.

I’ll still use my rabbit finisher because I find it funny. =p

In all honesty, FA played great this week.
Hopefully we get some things sorted out over the next 5 weeks and when we play again in week 7, FA will have 30 points, and we’ll have 28 going in.
Best case scenario would be we tie for first at 33 points each! =D

It kept us on our toes and made for interesting nights. I don’t think you guys would have queues most of the time we’re on maps though. It’s been hard to even distinguish the one guild that’s leading the map though. Just try to remember, later at night you guys can break down the group on the map in half. There’s no way we would have been able to defend both FABL and SBI Bay Tuesday night if you guys had a two forces on map, instead of just the one large one. I get it if that wasn’t possible though. Maintaining enough Glicko for the tier your server wants to be in has always been one of the few reasons I could understand why people ppt. I don’t understand your comment though. The reward of WvW has always been WvW itself and the competition of fighting other guilds or organized and talented groups. The reward shouldn’t be some stupid arbitrary token from winning a league with some bs certification of participation. WvW has always been imbalanced and the score boards will only ever reflect on the coverage population between the servers. Anet didn’t just magically poop balance into WvW. I don’t get why people think for some reason that score matters because we’ve been moved from a tier to a League. It’s not balanced, and I’m sad that so few seem to play WvW for what it is rather than what it is they’ll get.

HOPE will be out there as always, hoping to find a guild that plays for competition. Abys or TE, you’re our last hope for a GvG tomorrow. It seems everyone has fallen into the can’t win won’t try philosophy. I’m hoping you prove us wrong.

When there’s nothing left to play for, there’s always going to be a lack of real effort. We’ll get 3 points this week for getting second, not much can change that.
In football when one team is dominating in the 4th quarter, both teams generally sit their starters, since the game is over.
In hockey, one team might start a different goalie in the third period to get some experience if the team is losing 7-1.
Games that are meant to be competitive lose that edge when the outcome has been decided before the game ends.
Maybe certain people simply ‘play for the fights’. Others play for the score and to win. Once the score and win has been decided, it’s “wait until Friday” for a lot of people.

Came to the thread hoping to see some good suggestions about balancing server populations… leaving thread thinking ‘wtf’.
Don’t come into a gamemode unprepared, unskilled, and not properly geared and not expect to get destroyed.
Nobody needs to be carebeared. The amount of people I’ve seen go down this week under single arrow cart fire is funny. That should be a sign to do something different, if those people don’t take it upon themselves to improve and learn, they deserve to get killed over and over and over.

I came up with an exponential function that would even the odds, but there isn’t any answer for such a large man zerg. If they are all grouped up like that, go steal their territories. When they only capture a tower while you snag two camps, two towers and a keep, well, I guess they’ll have to learn.

So your idea of making the other team pay by running a giant blob… is that in the time it takes for the enemy blob to take a tower… your small group will take two camps, two towers, and a keep?

One thing I appreciated last time we fought FA a few weeks ago was how classy everyone was from FA.

[Core]. You aren’t farming anyone ‘hard’. It’s a pretty even matchup with FA’s EU timezone dominating ours. That is all.
The match statistics actually have SBI winning in NA, Oceanic, and Sea time zones. We simply have minimal EU timezone presence, the same as Dragonbrand. So FA ticks at 400-500 in EU. That’s the match right now as it stands.
The rest of the time, everyone farms the uplevel pve’ers and achievement hunting zerker builds. [core] is doing nothing special in that regard, don’t give yourself too much credit.

Put 50% of the WvW population into 3 out of 24 servers = threads like this

Pvp in a pvp zone, working as intended.

Won’t the best server win regardless of schedule?
BG and SoR both get 3 shots at JQ.
If JQ wins all those engagements, who cares what happens in the other weeks.

I think our record for holding a Hills keep in SBI borderlands was about 5 days. So much fun. That keep was a golem graveyard, watered with tears. Can’t wait to try again.

You Wp’d our garrison when we were asleep. We Wp’d your hills (before your guild bandwagoned to SBI) for five days straight. SBI clearly had the people to take it back but couldn’t.

Does it matter?
Your using an example of something you did months ago when SBI had a much smaller WvW population than BP did.
Congratulations I guess, you waypointed something in July, or whenever it was.
Your ‘feat’ of something done with a larger population and more coverage is no different than SBI waypointing your garrison when you were ‘sleeping’ and had less population and coverage.
And really, do you need to start with BP vs. SBI drama before leagues even start?

Overall, very impressed by Maguuma and what you accomplished over the past 24 hours.

Can’t blame your huge pug force during Oceanic to be fairweather tbh. If they turn up, the EB SoS force during Oceanic does turn out to be 50-60+.

That still leaves 20 extra on SoR plus boonstacks+stacks+bloodlust.
I see the SoR mentality,and its nothing like looking for a fair fight.
We repel you once,you get rearhurt and bring omegas and the entire queue against a paper tower with a handfull of defenders.
We come at you,sbi flank us and you pop in to capitalise on the 2v1.
And then you complain because we dont sit to put up a serious fight under this conditions?

If you guys can’t handle these conditions you need to toughen up. It’s not like SoR hasn’t been in these situations before, particularly in SEA in the past, having 2 map blobs against us. We still had to toughen up and stop complaining constantly. Not mocking you guys, but Why not keep going even under such circumstances instead of complaining? It’ll only improve you guys further.

The reality is, people on SBI might not want silver, they might not want gold, but none of us want to finish 3rd in the match up. We are trying to take your stuff, so we can beat you. If SoR wants to take your stuff, cause they want the fights, the loot, to keep PPT up so they don’t get that far behind JQ, then that is what they want to do.

If you are thinking you are being 2v1, then you aren’t paying attention to the match up. SoR is going where the fights are, for the most part.

Also, we have taken the fight to them, and taken their Bay, Hills, etc, during the night. While we do this, SoS is taking our stuff. I haven’t yet seen SoS attempt to really attack SoR in the evening. We are. That kind of blows the 2v1 theory out the water.

It’s not an accomplishment when they LET us take it.

SoR has been a class act this week to fight against. They have good guilds and good leaders.

I also suggest anyone who has extra blueprints, whether they be superior or not, donate them to Blodeuyn Tylwyth to help with our defense. [Lexs] does a great job of defending and upgrading our BL and helping with donations is always appreciated. =)
