i can say: why not? anet decides, we can theorycraft all the time we want.
but i still don’t like s/d. i would prefer something more damage than always put conditions. there should be some bonus damage for back strikes in the s/d dual itself. something you can upgrade with traits. right now s/d is only a control build, and thief really have s/p if he needs control.

It’s nice to see someone who has the balls to show a gameplay video, though. A lot of people like to complain, but they aren’t brave enough to show a video of their gameplay. I hope you learn something from the comments =)

his purpose was not to teach people how to play necro but to show , in his opinion, the op thing he don’t like. he should do a video in which he stand still till they kill him to explain better.

if you are in combat mode, you stealth and you switch weapon with hydromancy or something similar on it, you are revealed.
maybe it would be too op, but it seems to me a bad issue.

i don’t like ranks this way because people can farm them . i would prefer some other rank for tournament only or ladder only.
like some new cultural armors craftable only with some new ticket you gain by winning payed tournaments or something like that.

just some tips: even if defending a point, if you attack a couple of times someone who will get stomped by a teammate, you take points. defending points and helping teammates killing gives you points. at the end of every match game give bonus points to every one depending on what u did in the match.

as sanis stated: better win a tourney doing 10 points each match than losing first map doing 200 points.

btw i find it offensive your words and it is sad for someone like you talking so trashy.
have you played thief ? can you please try to go straight in front of your opponents in teamfights and tell me how much time you need to die? because it is fun a lot of people claim thief op and they don’t know exactly how the class works.
i am not closed minded like everyone of you who whine at every mechanic of the game. and i try to force everyone like you to understand that maybe some more improvement in your gaming would be nice.

A necro or engi or ele (i play all three) needs to press 10 buttons to position himself, aim his spells, use them in the right order, all while making sure that he keeps enough abilities off cooldown to escape an unforeseen situation. A thief however presses 1 button and does all that, is able to use that 1 button multiple times in a row, and has superior and more get out of jail free cards.

edit: for the record, i really didn’t care about PW nerf, about basilisk nerf etc etc…look how many angry rangers are out there…look at how many other players are there whining.. ofc it is me raging and defending my thief.huehue thief up, huehue..

there is 4 minutes of potential waiting if someone don’t press “i am ready”, it is just frustrating to wait people who like to skirmish before tournament start, after the match start every second is important for final score.

tl;dr: if you have irl issues don’t start tourney or u force 4 people to waste time.

i found it funnier that a warrior cry about his best combo being avoided. next thread will be"remove break stuns", then “remove dodge”. because force opponent to waste all break stuns he has before using main damage is too mainstream..
..oh, and don’t forget that usually to have that passive bonus, you have to sacrifice traits…

I quit the game yesterday, i no longer play it.

The game is full of bunkers and OP thiefs and mesmers! then you go and nerf the warrior damage to “Balance” , really to “Balance” the game?

Just run 5 bunkers and you can win the tpvp, any one can do that?

Untill they make 8 vs 8 tourney (not this 5 vs 5 paid tourney) i might come back.

The “problem” as I see it is, in other games high skillcap classes usually come with a reward. That is, if played right, they’re absolute monsters. Unfortunately in GW2 it is the other way around – classes that take little to no skill, pressing under 5 buttons per engagement, that are the monsters. And when played correctly, mostly via just luck and/or better positioning and synchronization with other similar classes, become unstoppable.

true: there are classes that are simple to use harder to master, there are classes hard to use hardest to master.

false: classes hardest to master will give a lot more rewards, but the fact they are hardest to master, people don’t focus on those the time and attention needed.

to make a funny example: in d&d, mage is the weakest class in the first 10-15 lvls (on 20 max), low hp, low damage, few spells available; over lvl 15 mages are the most op class in every roleplaying games.

so everytime someone says “l2p”, it is not always offensive, but it means you need to improve yourself before stating that “op nerf pl0x”BS.

You know what the best feeling in the world is when you’re playing PvP in this game?

Imagine, you’re doing a 1 v 1 against another player, say a Warrior against a Ranger, whatever. You’re both going back and forth, you’re both down to around 10k – 13k HP, when, all of a sudden, you’re downed. You’re like, “WTF did this Ranger do?” And then, a Thief comes out of Stealth in mid air as he’s stomping you. And you die a little more inside.

is it tournament or 8v8?
questions:
why are you doing 1v1?
are you on a node or fighting random in the map?

i can’t understand, you were distracted, a thief came and killed you…he helped a teammate. is it wrong? do you know how much utility has a thief in tournament when he is not killing someone? no utility.
this game is for teamplay, if you want to play 1v1 you should change game.

In regular PvE a non-critical Backstab might not hit for more than 3k.

in regular tpvp, a cannon glass thief is useless, a balanced thief crit for less than 6k. hf ruining thief class.

1 single pool of initiative is something that force you to decide what to use. swapping weapons allow other classes to cycle their skills.
if you end your ini pool with shortbow, switching weap wont give u more ini.

What are you on about? Stating something needs balance does not prevent people from trying to improve, the two are not mutallly exclusive.

Nor is having the view something is in need of balance anything to do with being a newb, if you watch the decent teams on Twitch all of them state their views on certain skills they think are OP and are in need of balance (often including the class they are playing, unlike many of the people who spout the sort of thing you do).

if now, a rank 50, champion brawler, marauder, come here and say “X is op please nerf” i give him more credit than all the forum users because i know his statement is due to experience and a lot of time spent playing.
here there are a lot of players who build funny stuff on their character and pretend to win without careing anything else than their own profit.
as far as in sc2 blizzard ask to proplayers how to balance the game, and maybe a lot of stuff is op for a casual gamer.

you can have only amulets that are the sum of all the pve jewelry.
and in pvp u are lvl 80, so the items you take are lvl 80 pvp.

moving signet of shadows in the utility bar(ie: from 9 to 8 slot ), makes it to lose effect (the little icon of signet doesn’t appear). to force the signet to work you have to remove from utility bar and put again in the chosen slot.

I remember Mesmers said Moa Morph is a 3-4 second casting time, so it can be easily dodged and if you don’t you are just bad. Now I laugh about it.

khilo is the only map which requires to take care of 4(5)(3 cap points, opponent treb, your treb) points instead of the usual 3 cap points.
i don’t like the strong aoe damage, don’t like the mesmer’s portal, but the map is really fine.

sure D/P got backstab but it’s much harder to land a backstab with this build since you don’t have CnD.

And yeah they might not want us to be as we are right now … but they at least should make all other weapon sets attractive then so that we can run other things that might be interesting.

the only way is to blinding powder and HS inside it so u go stealth. but it is a great initiative waste…but if they could fix that weapon set, i would use it forever.

If you like an other classes downed skills: REROLL. Every class has its pros and cons (atleast point of view is different for eacht person.)

There are a lot of problems with the downed state, but this isn’t one of them.

it is not a downed mode problem, and i think downed mode is quite fine. this is a collateral effect of a skill which should not works with downed mode.

preemptive dodge roll, enough said. If not preemptable, stun break and dodge roll twice, and faceroll him. He gets one of those every 45s – 1 minute and for every one he dies because he is fodder after. It is not like he just roams the field killing at will.

you should look at this build utility in a tourney where every second of playing count for the final score.
your team should play 4v5 till you hit someone to just 4v4 for 10-15 secs.

warriors dies after vengeance finishes if they dont spec it in traits.
engi resurrect with a skill that is not in downed mode state, but used before dieing.
i am over downed mechanics, i really don’t care.
if i was rageing at elite banner of warrior ressing all around him, i was a fool. but warrior can’t use banner to res himself.
engi can, and in a game where downed mode is part of tactic, strategy, mechanic of the game, allowing this 5th skill to help downed mode is , as i titled it, unacceptable.

I do not understand why he said " Less QQ, more pew pew". Is this some kind of a bad joke?
They promised good PvP but what did we get? Zergfest hot-join glory farm and “stomp the random team”-tournaments.
The game is released since 6 weeks and there were no development in sPvP since beta weekend 2. Arenanet, please be honest, did you expect that PvP players will be satisfied with that poor designed sPvP?
There were(!) so many players and guilds who would like to compete in a decent PvP format but there is just no way to play any good team with your current system.
And now you make a blog post about upcomming features which you already promised months ago. This is how you insulted the PvP community, or at least what is left from that.

if you read better maybe you can see he just joke …

..btw i am tired of reading posts, blogs, etc. i would like the time spent in blog and stuff like that was used to speed balance, and release of other things usefull for tpvp.

Guild Wars 2 sPvP may be shipped, but it’s far from finished.

if the game have the downed mode, and every class has his own 4 skills to deal with it, why ENGINEER has the chance to use ELIXIR R to AUTORES himself? it is not fair.
remove the 6seconds duration or remove the option on himself.
