Also, what is the alternative? Are there many? Are they strong enough? Some may play certain specs because there isn’t a viable alternative no matter how skilled they are.
Kill a Rangers pet and they’re kitten from the get go after what seems like either a stealth nerf or a bug, pets die really fast now. Always target the pet, you won’t fail.
Only problem I have with putting so much emphasis on a pet is that currently (whether or not it is a bug or is intended) Ranger pets die so fast that once it’s gone, you’re done.
Ranger pets taking too much damage – “Meh”
Ranger pets doing too much damage – “We’ll fix this right now!”
Was there a hotfix on pets dying instantly as well?
It’s a shame the Spirit of Nature was so harshly nerfed, watching Warriors go spare over an 8% nerf to passive healing with 100% up time was funny though.
1. Ranger (Don’t really think there is much doubt on this one. Fundamentally flawed.)
2. Engineer
3. Elementalist
Never had a greater feeling of community than when we downed the Wurm.
The support, time, effort, words of encouragement and general good vibes and feelings for 150+ people trying to achieve something no one else has done was euphoric.
Not everyone could sit there for hours on end, it gave new players a chance to stand next to “veterans” of the encounter on multiple occasions, something that is much harder to do in an instances.
Yeah the loot was horrendous, but we knew it would be and that’s not what was driving us over the last few days. Well done everyone who spent hours, even days going at it over and over again, we did it guys!
Personally, 3 yellows, 1 gold and 40 Dragonite lol
WORLD FIRST DESO! GG!
Killed it? They didn’t even activate the next phase on that run. It’s an exciting race!
This was before we knew that phase existed also we where first to get to it in the next run.
And there is a bug during the burn phase
Let the race continue!
If the final phase was 2 minutes 30 seconds, we’d already have killed it by now. I think the timers are fine, it’s just getting into the habit of things and after a world first, or a few weeks, maybe then think about looking at the scaling or timers.

We’re so close now! Just one more go…
It’s more likely to go into farm status like Teq has than never be finished again.
No it’s fine, you don’t need to be ascended to do it. Just highly coordinated.
Deso killed one and had the others under 50%. You get 2 mins to do this.
EDIT: As seen in the pic I uploaded.
When you severe a head yes, kill? No.
EDIT: Just to clarify when heads are severed you get 2mins to then defeat the Legendary head which flops around.
This was something I had been thinking about for a long time, getting people to break up into groups under 30-40. I myself thought the debuff would be called “Over Confidence”.
I’m all for large scale battles, but it’s not all that fun when you’re facing a blob so large your skills stop working. T1 servers, I’m looking at you.
As stated before, numbers dictate who wins, coverage is everything. I think population size should be included in the match up algorithm when deciding which servers match up.
Deso usually has more? Plenty of primetime hours jumping from border to border without a queue. Everyone choosing to ignore the 20-man EXG group posted by Gro wiping your blobs, haha.
if you mean this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8YngWj3a7s (which was the only video from that match-up) then I strongly suggest you invest in a pair of glasses since the last time I checked Gandara is not spelled as “Augury Rock”
Ah, sorry you felt left out. Here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8G7hk2rweA#t

Clearly we’re still putting up too much of a fight for other classes.
Ideally if we have to deal with trenchcoats, I’d like to see them reworked to not unnecessarily bellow out all over the place leaving fat looking characters and let them flow a bit more.
If we’re going down the route of the “at one with nature” theme I’d like to see that reflected in our armours. But then again I don’t think Anet know what we are anymore, to everyone on my TS apparently what we are, is just an easy kill.
The lack of trait compression leads me to believe there was simply a lack of ideas as to what to fill the traits with. Warriors have plenty of our traits compressed because they had tons of stuff to fill the trees with, not so much for us Rangers.
Also I think they should at least put a warning on the character creation page as a public service announcement that pets are not working as intended and thus should be wary of choosing such a class until they can be sorted. I’d be very annoyed to go out of my way to create one now and then find out that I’m only 75% of any other class in the game, not to mention pet’s are not scaling to Ascended either.
Not sure how I feel about the response regarding pets. We’ve been told that pets are a staple of our class and what makes us unique yet it’s broken and it’s not going to be looked at any time soon. Disappointing to say the least given the state of Rangers since release.

Yup agreed, the pet is even more useless (If that’s possible) in WvW.
Which puts us under every other class from the outset on this one point, it’s astonishing that nothing has been done to compensate this (or nothing effective has been done).
Currently we are the butt of the joke when it comes to WvW I think I’ve heard every snide remark / joke there is from my mumble when it comes to Rangers on the battlefield.
I don’t think melee being strong is a problem, I’m so glad that they decided on a class that can use both styles to great effect. They just need to bump the ranged side a bit to get them to the same level of great.
Honestly, the only major problem I see is the buffs range situation with the longbow.
I’d say it was necessary given we’re not that mobile when you think about how agile other classes are. If being at range was our only plus we’d be absolutely screwed. Think about how skills and abilities each class has to close the gap and think about how many we have to open gaps.
Not to mention WvW where it’s zerg vs zerg with commanders screaming at you to stand together no matter how much it might kitten you.
Doing melee damaging is definitely something we want, plus it stops gameplay from being one dimensional.
I would still call the Ranger the best range class (even thought it still has room for improvement).
The fact we are even entertaining this question shows there is indeed a very big problem with the state of Rangers at the moment.
They changed Deadeye’s mechanics a couple of days ago, so the strategy that was posted no longer works.
Thanks!
Every time I start this as a Norn, I have to adjust my position and the camera and before I’ve had a chance to do so Deadeye has already taken aim at me and sometimes has shot me. I haven’t had the chance to use a single skill yet and the off chance I use the Stone Signet, it doesn’t work and I go down again.
Is this bugging out?
Only “Invaders weapons” can be thrown into the mystic forge. No idea if intended or bug….

Thanks a lot for the answer. Just hope Anet can clarify what they are going to do about this, if anything.
Much appreciated!
I’ve bought some Hammers but when I go to the forge window they don’t show up. Is there something I have to do? Or have done incorrectly?
I was just wondering if it were possible to use exotics bought using gold / badges in WvW to create precursors in the Mystic Forge?
Honestly, the only major problem I see is the buffs range situation with the longbow.
