I don’t mind making slow progress on mastery with my limited amount of play time for this xpac, but my biggest concern is that Anet might keep shrinking the size of their development team if they are convinced that players are all fine with what they do in HOT. You know, it’s a lot easier to create grindy stuff and gated content, than creating new and fun content that requires creativity and more effort to design. If we give Anet the impression that what they do for HOT is fine, then it is likely that they will just keep the fewest programmers necessary to create grindy stuff, to decrease the cost and maximize their profit. This will eventually kill GW2.

…buddy, have you ever considered just taking up a new game or something? It sounds like you have a lot of anger issues directed toward ANet at this point and I don’t know if there can ever be a resolution that will satisfy you.

I’m actually not being a smartkitten here. I’m serious. Throughout the whole course of this thread, you have steadfastly refused to cut ANet even the semblance of a break – it’s all conspiracy theories and random vitriol.

Maybe it’s time to step back and away, if a game’s got you that locked-in mentally. -Sid

and new thanks to a new unlock or new movement ability. Preposterous.

I hope none of you complainers ever play a Metroid or Zelda game. Man are you going to hate those…

Again though, I’ve played every Metroid and Castlevania game, love the genre, but not one of them required you to level up in order to unlock content. They all involved beating a given boss or reaching a hidden room ONCE, and then you unlock the new trick. If they involved XP leveling at all, it was only a stat-booster. If HoT were following Metroidvania rules, then it would leave in those glowy white orbs, and each time you tagged one you could unlock a new power, no grinding needed.

I felt similarly, but since the LS story chapters gave big chunks of XP, I assume that if you do those, you’ll be able to at least reach 1-3 mastery levels. We also don’t know yet what you get for the adventures, and fingers crossed, none of the event chains will bug out.

Yeah, this is why I’m not in full panic mode yet, we have not been playing with the full progression of options, but I am still concerned by what we have seen. I mean, I was able to get four masteries in BWE1-2, but a lot of that XP came from doing the story chapter on six characters and then unlocking map locations with most of them. Starting fresh in BWE3 and only making three characters, I ended the weekend with barely two masteries.

While neither one of the two games you mentioned specifically have leveling as their progression tactic, they both do still require progression of some type.

In the case of Metroid, it’s a requirement to get some of the upgrades in order to advance. (Most notably, the Morph Ball power item.)

In the case of Castlevania, I suppose the argument can be made that one can progress through the game without acquiring any kind of upgrade at all, but it does require linear progression through levels just to finish the game. I’d rather be able to go anywhere and do anything, personally. But some people like one-way linear games.

I think a lot of your disappointment has to do with you not hitting masteries fast enough, but it looks like you were able to finish BWE3 averaging a mastery a day. I don’t know what YOUR expectations are, but to me that’s pretty good! So, what, you’d be able to hit them all in under a month at that rate?

Were you expecting to somehow go faster than that, maybe? And if so, why? -Sid

some people prefer having a physical copy of something, i guess im just one of those people. not to mention that i missed out on beta access expecting to be able to buy it from stores on the 23rd when it was announced not the 6th. end of the day its still cheaper for me to buy the digital copy too

No, I get that. I had to have the CE of NWN. No idea why. XD But yeah, it takes a while to ship stuff by boat and most game companies are nowadays against the idea of pre-shipping across the globe. (This is likely attributable to an uptick in game thefts – one such incident happened just this past May in England: http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/truckload-splatoon-wii-u-games-stolen-game-uk-special-edition-squid-inkling-amiibo-among-victims-1503184)

This is in response to two trending topics as of late: selling dungeon runs, and trading post listing fees.

To those of you upset about people who sell dungeon runs: Get over it and yourselves. (Or don’t. Who am I, your parole officer?) If you’re the kind of person who can’t be bothered to do research before selecting a seller of a dungeon run, THAT IS ON YOU. If you get ripped off, guess what, buttercup. You just bought a lesson instead. Learn from that lesson – do your homework and select a seller with a proven track record. They’re out there.

To those of you upset about undercutting on the TP taking listing fees: Get over it and yourselves. (No, really.) The life of a salesman is not an easy one. Salesmen are expected to know their market. They’re expected to know the prices of the items in which they deal, and the smart successful ones adjust accordingly. It’s not ANet’s place to guarantee you become Gordon Gekko. THAT IS ON YOU.

The tl;dr?

Please stop crying about things that are under your power to control. I mean, you don’t HAVE to stop crying, but it would go a long way toward people listening to your concerns.

Stuff takes time to ship via boat, and that’s about the only way a boatload of games is getting to Oceania. (Sure, you could fly them in, but only if you’re interested in paying double or triple the current price.)

The digital version is scheduled to be released on October 23 worldwide. Perhaps that would be better for you? (I don’t know what the internet is like in Australia or New Zealand. Hell, I barely know where either place is located. They’re on Earth, right?) -Sid

Why would it be a shame for people to sell raid runs? If there are buyers, why should there not be sellers?

Buying and Selling on the Trading Post

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Technically, they already lost their listing fee, when they listed it. It doesnt matter, how fast or slow it sells.

How fast an item sells does matter as the active buying and selling prices change over time. An item may be worth 1.5g, so you list it at 1.5g. If it doesn’t sell fast enough and the value of the item changes to 1g over a week then you will never sell that item. You would lose your listing fee and have to put up another listing fee if you wanted to sell it again for 1g.

…and whose fault is that for not knowing their market?

See, this is what I was talking about. Your suggestions all seem to be angled toward improving the lot of a seller beyond reason. ANet’s not in the business of making sure players all maximize their returns on the trading post. That’s on the sellers themselves, and what you mention is a legitimate market risk. Prices change. The smart sellers stay on top of those changes – and the smartest ones, ahead of them. -Sid

sellruns happen because you can compelete content without the intended group size, so either you can complete the raids with 9 people or the one who buys it needs to be useful
people who know the raid won’t buy it, or sell runs won’t happen or they will be extremly expensive

That’s why you’d start seeing some disgusting people grouping up with friends and kicking people, and then pulling in new members for big profit.

This would definitely be a huge issue post HoT if devs do not think of methods to counter it.

I hope they already thought of this and made kicking require more than 3 people. Otherwise, well, 3 guildies kicking 7 pugs and selling all the spots will become pretty common.

Buyer beware! Don’t buy from a seller that a lacks an actionable track record.

I mean, really, this is all very simple stuff from a consumer standpoint. Don’t you do research before buying a computer, or TV, or car?

Taking Grind to a whole new Level

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Sidenti.6035

Sidenti.6035

The reason why people are unhappy is NOT because there is a lot of grind in a game, but because there is a lot of grind in the xpac of a game originally advertised as one that “does not require time to prepare for fun” and “respects your time”.

Players have been asking for a better way to get Legendary Weapons, a way that has more focused grind instead of just grind and they delivered. Now players complain that the grind they asked for is there?

I am not talking about ways of getting legendary weapons. I actually got one in the old way by playing less than an hour a day on average, and I don’t really have comments on different ways of getting legendary weapons.

The topic was about Legendary Weapons requiring a grind but oh well if it’s not the new legendary weapon system that is a grind then what is? The mastery system is the problem?

It depends on whether the OP was using the new legendary acquisition system as an example and talking about grind in HOT in general, or whether he’s talking about legendary items only. If it’s the latter, then I admit that my post is not entirely focused on his opinion.

In fact, I cannot really think of any new pve content (except the new profession) in HOT that is grind-free. Can you give an example of a new, fun pve content with great replayability in HOT that is completely grind-free for existing characters? None…there isn’t even going to be a new fractal instance even though they claim fractals are the 5-man content that they will focus on in the future. Therefore, I think Anet has given up their original manifesto, and they should not indicate otherwise when talking about HOT releases. Creating more grind and more layers of grind definitely has higher priority than creating new, fun content at the moment.

I’m just about sick of hearing what people DON’T want. You got a better idea for what should be coming down, then let’s hear it. But your negativity and condescending attitude is doing no favors for my own.

Let’s cut the crap and get to brass tacks. I’ve already heard what makes you UNHAPPY. What would make you HAPPY, and how, specifically, do you think it should be implemented? -Sid

(It’s okay. I fully expect you to ignore the question. I know your type.)

I see how this is going. Originally, when Anet tried to develop MMO games that respect players’ time, lots of players who have a busy real life flooded to GW1 and later GW2. When GW2 became popular because of this, many players who have much, much more free time also came to play GW2, and think that those who enjoyed the original GW1 and vanilla GW2 should quit and that Anet should focus on creating stuff for players who play all day.

What would make me happy? Being true to their original manifesto would certainly make me happy. I can understand the difficulty, because Anet lost many key people, including 2 out of the 3 co-founders. Therefore, they no longer have the man power to keep true to their original manifesto. If they decide to make HOT grindy because they don’t have enough people at the moment to create new, fun content, then we can certainly suggest them to hire more people and avoid doing this for the next xpac after HOT.

Look, it’s pretty obvious you don’t have a solution to your problems – and there’s nothing anyone can do for you if that’s the case.

If you can’t be more specific about what you want (by this, of course, I mean outlining things you want to see in-game, being quite a bit more detailed about what you consider “grindy”, etc.) then there’s no point in continuing this conversation.

Though I suspect there never was. You seem to have your mind made up already, and I strongly doubt anything short of you being placed in charge of the game would change it.

All the best, etc. -Sid

This post isn’t about the 1 copper undercut. It’s about investigating alternative algorithms that can help reduce the number of people left out of pocket in listing fees due to the changing prices of items.

The 1 copper undercut is key to the game’s economy in changing prices based on supply and demand.

I’m not interested in reducing the sellers’ exposure to bad listing decisions. It’s the sellers’ responsibility to know their markets. It’s not ANet’s place to protect players from making poor decisions.

Know your markets, know your pricing, know your consumers. -Sid

This question has probably been asked quite a number of times, but I’m not sure where to start looking or what to type to find such a question.

As of now, there are 3 ways to buy Heart of Thorns. The preorder packs cost $50, $75, and $100, and give some exclusive incentives for paying more. The $50 pack includes Heart of Thorns and the core game, and has the incentive that veteran players who own the core game already get a free character slot for prepurchasing.

$50 is a little out of my price range for an expansion, though. I’d gladly pay that much if I didn’t already own the Core game, but I’ve owned it since Beta. I remember the days where game expansions cost anywhere from $15-$30, and I can’t stomach paying $50 for a part of a game I already own with the income I have right now.

Are there going to be any plans to include a cheaper Upgrade edition of Heart of Thorns only for people who already own the Core game after release? I remember for the longest time there was an option to use Gems to upgrade to a higher priced version of GW2 to unlock the Mistfire Wolf elite skill and the other perks. I think it’d be fantastic if such an option were made available.

You do remember that the Upgrade version to the core game in the Gem Store requires the purchase of GW2 first, right? It’s the same deal with HoT – gotta have at least the standard version first.

Which means you’re either hopin’ for a sale or you’re savin’ aside some money in order to just get the HoT standard version – at which point you can choose to upgrade to Deluxe for 2400 Gems.

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_2:_Heart_of_Thorns%E2%80%94Digital_Deluxe_Upgrade

But I wouldn’t hold your breath on them making it cheaper anytime soon. ANet does have a business to run, you know. -Sid

I don’t see the problem with people who undercut by 1 copper. That’s pretty much Wal-Mart’s core business strategy, and it works. They’re even willing to undercut if it means a loss in some cases. In the end, it’s a strategy that benefits the consumer by deflating prices.

I realize it makes TP speculation more difficult, but frankly I don’t have a problem with making life more difficult for professional auctioneers. Maybe they’ll actually play the game for a change instead of sitting around playing Gordon Gekko? Dare to dream! -Sid

I have consistently found in life that, if someone genuinely wants to do something, they will continue to do that thing because the act of participation is its own reward.

Those who truly love dungeon delving will continue to do so with no regard for the potential “monetary” payoff at the end of the run.

The dungeons aren’t going anywhere. They’ll still be in the same places. They’ll still offer the same challenges. And if that’s TRULY what you’re after… well, you have nothing to worry about, now, do you? :-) -Sid

All I could think about was “fantastic, I’m gonna be bombing around with five different tropes”.

Out of what I’ve seen from ANet, I feel they do action best and should probably stick with it until their drama team a) learns subtlety and b) can give us at least somewhat original characters instead of The Two Lesbians, Big Dumb Guy, Tomgirl The Cat, and Genius Kid With Robot. -Sid

Compass Event Prioritization Sucks

If I’m trying to complete an area of the map in my case the Fields of Ruin, I do not need my compass to only show the events that are taking place in the area. I need it to show me where to go to uncover an unexplored area and find the singular hero point that I need to finish the area. It is infuriating when your only purpose for being in an area is to complete it, and you are being directed towards a community event that will be repeated again in a half hour that means nothing to you personally. The compass should not be prioritizing infinitely repeating community events until finite goals like completely exploring the area have been completed, this game isn’t pay to play, you do not need to waste your customers time in such a way.

The hero point you’re looking for is either in the extreme NE or NW corner of Fields of Ruin. Most of us found that one by looking it up.

It’s never a waste of time to look things up if you don’t know them. We’re nothing more than the sum of our knowledge. -Sid

But I actually agree with this. Wallet warriors should be allowed to be wallet warriors. Their rampant impatience and marked distaste for earning anything in a game is quite a positive revenue stream, and anything that puts more money into the pocket of the developer is OK by me because most developers tend to use that extra money to create more content.

So, yes. Let the whales breach! Let them buy past the time gate! Let them buy all the upgraded gear and skills they like.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/PvP-NA-Coaching-Newer-Players/first#post5618717

That’s newer players though and an officially endorsed and supported infrastructure can only help organize things at least like with LFG. The intermediates who hit a wall need coaching too! Sure there’s no need of an interface but official recognition from Anet that “This person is reliable and knows his stuff” would help build trust with prospective students of all levels.

You realize, of course, that adding any official infrastructure will take away from game development and add cost to the final product. Correct?

communication ristrictions

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Sidenti.6035

Sidenti.6035

Look, I’ve played SWTOR and Neverwinter. I’ve seen what happens when communication restrictions are loosened on F2Ps. YOU DO NOT WANT THAT.

I’ve had exactly one goldspam message sent to me since signing up on the first day of F2P. One. That’s more than worth a lockdown on F2Ps. If they want communication options, they can do like I did and plunk down their cash.

But what the hey, I’ll go through the OP’s suggestions point-by-point.

  • What you’re asking for would require more maintenance and new code added to a feature that simply doesn’t warrant it. The in-game mailing system is one of the last things that should require regular maintenance, and it should NEVER require new code. Anything that requires more maintenance without a tangible financial return = bad in the coding world.
  • Absolutely not. Allowing indiscriminate transfer of gold between guildmates opens up a prime vector of attack for goldspammers by giving them plausible cover for their actions. By not having an environment ripe for abuse, ANet helps cover our behinds as well as their own.
  • Basically, what you’re asking for here is to give some admin powers to regular players. I trust I don’t have to tell you what opening that particular Pandora’s Box means on the security side of things, given your degree and experience. (But I will if you like!)

And finally:

  • I’m glad you at least acknowledge it’s a reach, but come on, man. Do you honestly expect ANet to be chomping at the bit to get into yet another business model? That would require either hiring more personnel (and the payroll increases that come with that – by the way, I’d like to mention that us players are the primary source of ANet’s income so that means we’d be seeing passthrough) or taking existing personnel and repurposing them (taking dev time and ability away from the game itself). Enjin, GuildWork, hell, even Facebook/Google+/Whatever Else There Is In Social Media are all in the game and all much more well-established. There’s no point in ANet expending the time or manpower when these options (and many others) already exist, many for free.

I appreciate that you’re having a hard time communicating with some F2Pers, but honestly? That’s on the F2Pers for not paying in. (And no, I’m not going to feel sorry for any poor people playing. I was poor too. Get paid if you wanna chat, F2Pers.) -Sid

It’s such a good idea that people are already doing this without the need of an interface.

Gem purchases-related questions.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Sidenti.6035

Most of what you’re asking is covered in the Terms of Service, but what the hell – I’m feeling charitable so I’ll give you the Clif Notes version:

  • Refunds are generally related to something screwing up badly for a prolonged period on ANet’s end.
  • Once you give them money for gems, it’s safe to say you’re not getting that money back.
  • Since microtrans-related game concepts tend to receive high amounts of attention and monitoring, it’s extremely unlikely you’ll ever suffer from a glitch or bug that causes you to lose these gems.

The tl;dr? Your fears are generally unwarranted, but don’t expect a refund if you’re simply dissatisfied with your purchase. These are all things you will learn, however, as you play more MMOs with cash shops. -Sid

Therefore, logically, rangers > all other classes.

Is it possible to link multiple GW2 accounts?

And obtain all the skins and achievement points in the process? Some players like me have multiple accounts, but can’t play on their “main” due to unforseen reasons, or wanted to start afresh, but maintain their rewards, which I believe they are entitled to.

Can you be more specific about these “unforseen reasons”? Because the only one I can think of that would prevent a character from being played is the account got banned.

If the account’s banned, there is no justification for allowing that player to get those achievements. It cheapens the effort of everyone who follows the rules.

Actions have consequences. -Sid

Not reffering to banning lol, but you are completly right ^^.
Extreme example: Ex-bullied, got harrassed online, reported his harrassers but still felt like his account had been tarnished by the event, wants to start afresh on a account where noone knows him or his situation to prevent ever being a victim again.

…buddy, just tell your friend to get over that nonsense and log in. And believe me, I know all about that particular brand of nonsense. Why on EARTH should your friend let a few faceless dinks keep him from everything he’s accomplished?!

As long as your friend refuses to claim what he’s rightfully earned from said dinks, he will ALWAYS be a victim. And no one deserves to go through that bullkitten. (Yes, I actually typed “bullkitten”. Starting to enjoy the use of minced oaths here, plus it’s a helluva visual.)

Tell your friend that there’s nothing their words can do to him that he doesn’t want to happen. Don’t let words keep him from the body of his work. Tell him to man up and reclaim what is his.

As a friend, doing anything less for him would be an appalling disservice. -Sid

Taking Grind to a whole new Level

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Sidenti.6035

Sidenti.6035

The reason why people are unhappy is NOT because there is a lot of grind in a game, but because there is a lot of grind in the xpac of a game originally advertised as one that “does not require time to prepare for fun” and “respects your time”.

That is, people are unhappy that Anet failed their legendary “quest” of designing a MMORPG without grinding.

The fact that there are grindy stuff in some other games is totally irrelevant. Anet tried to avoid grindy stuff and then gave up in the xpac, and that’s it. Of course there are people who are happy about Anet’s failure because they like grindy stuff, while others will be unhappy.

I don’t think anyone can argue about this.

You’re absolutely right. ANet should not have told people they would not have to prepare to have fun, because ANet should know by now that some people just don’t know how to have fun. I truly pity those people.

You know the ones I’m talking about – the ones who have to have everything right off the bat, the ones who can’t be bothered to feel pride in accomplishing an unlock with anything other than a credit card. The ones who would probably be more at home in Second Life (until they realized it’s even more monetized than Neverwinter ever will be).

But I get that. I do. Life is a grind for most. Some of those people just can’t handle that and have to have an escape mechanism – a game where people feel special, even if they haven’t earned the distinction. A game for people who don’t want to do anything, yet want to have everything.

Problem is, a game like that doesn’t exist because it’s so incredibly boring for the vast majority of gamers. Otherwise, those games would be ubiquitous.

But no, I feel your pain, bruh. Life’s hard. It requires work for stuff and things (in most cases). If you don’t want to earn what you get, hey, there’s no law against feeling that way.

Maybe with the next expansion you’ll get what you want – no grind, all lewt. But until then, you need a pile of XP to unlock those masteries if you wanna hang out in the new areas. And there’s no way around it.

My deepest sympathies. -Sid

Oh. Em. Gee. I have so much to get off my chest.

First off, I just learned that I have to actually LEVEL my character if I want to get him to 80! This is preposterous! The gem store should sell me a fully outfitted level 80, for about 10 gems. (Maybe 5, because ANet is evil and stinky and moneygrubby and I’m so tired of funding their gold-plated cafeteria/caviar orgy pit that floats on an ocean of perfumed crude oil.)

Also, what’s this garbage about multiple abilities and stuff? Just make one ability that hoses the entire screen and showers me with Legendaries and Black Lion Chest keys! Anything less just isn’t fun and stuff!

What’s more, I hate being time-gated. I don’t want to have to play your content in order to play your content! Just let me have access because I have a credit card and stuff! I AM ENTITLED TO THIS BY GOD!

Oh, and I’m so kittening angry about the fact that HoT isn’t as large as the core game. It doesn’t matter that I have zero understanding of content development or game economics – HoT needs to be as large as Tyria, and have just as many events, and just as many hearts (all prefilled, of course!), and it needs to be delivered at the exact same price! Because it makes sense and stuff!

But the thing that honks me off the most? Those smarmy asspirates who use sarcasm to make observations about what they see around them. Those people are the effin’ WORST. They should all be dragged into the street and shot repeatedly!

I’m done. For now. -Sid

You forgot to mention no mounts…..cuz of reasons XD

OH EM GEE THE MOUNTZ™!

These Mountz™ must also have different levels of speed boost, just like Neverwinter! And then, we can make game levels where the best rewards go to the people who spent money on those Mountz™! Because, you know what? Taking time to enjoy one’s surroundings is for losers and terrorists! Donald Trump said so!

These Mountz™ must be either horrendously overpriced, or available only from Black Lion Chests at the lowest drop rates imaginable, because by God we need to separate the wheat with money from the brokeass chaff! We all know it’s IMPOSSIBLE to stroke kitten properly without a totally awesome, reskinned, shiny sparkly unicorn-bear-pig-dragon! Something else with an exclamation point!

Also, these Mountz™ must take up as much development time as possible! Screw new content! To hell with bugfixes! We must move around the map a little faster than we already are! And do not EVEN try to rebalance all the speed buffs! They MUST work while mounted!

(The sad part is that I’m actually starting to sound like some of the genuine complaints here. XD)

I’m not offended in the least. I am far, faaaaar beyond that. lol

I’m just waiting. That is all. “karma” is a thing, that gets us all. Blizzard’s World of Warcraft division recently learned this.

I’m well aware that Karma is a thing. I have over 2 million Karma. But I don’t think WoW has a Karma feature, so I don’t know if what you’re wanting to happen (whatever it is – it’s probably not vindictive and petty though) will happen there.

But since you seem to be so much smarter than the rest of us, maybe it will. Lord knows I’ve been wrong before and will be wrong in the future. I’m married.

Anyway, I completely lost track of what you were talking about. A shame, because I’m sure it was comedic as all get-out and totally in line with the theme of this thread. Since I can’t be bothered to scroll up – too much work, don’t you know – could you recap the funny stuff for me?

Again, thanks in advance. :-)

*See attachment

The problem, or complaint, to which you are trying to make light of, isn’t that we don’t want to give ANet money. Hell, i’d give’m 40-50 bucks a month, if they’d just cut out all the psychological schemes to make money, such as making rare mats impossible to farm, the gem to gold conversion never quite allowing you to convert ALL of your gems (See Salami Slicing), and creating outfits, instead of individual armor pieces without adding said pieces to the game in expansions or Living Story. Be straight forward. Offer a straight forward product, and people will buy it. Its not something that needs this level of psychology applied to it!

Bad business only sticks around long enough until the competition reverse engineers your business to be a better business model entirely. Its only time, that keeps GW2 popular. Perhaps though, it is a lack of competition that allows them to do whatever they want? We’ll see. The industry is in ‘study mode’ right now, as WoW has just imploded and people are looking for that “next big thing”.

I’m so very sorry you found my totally legitimate concerns distressing! It was NEVER the intention of this post to offend easily-offended people whose “problems” make daytime TV look utterly solvable by comparison. Every problem that everyone has with the game is, of course, shared by absolutely everyone else so of course we should eliminate all those things you mentioned!

And yeah, WoW is totally in the toilet. I heard they never ever made money off of manipulating the sensibilities of people who lack sensibilities. That must be why all of those super serious problems you mentioned aren’t present on any other similar game at all. Why, the entire industry must be upside-down when it comes to monetization! We should write our Congressmen! Quickly, form the riot squads and…

…hang on a sec. You were actually SERIOUS?! XD

Baby, if that’s the case, this is not the thread for you. Or maybe it is and you just don’t know it. I gotta be honest with ya – I’m enjoying what little time I have on this planet FAR too much to figure it out for you. Think you can handle that for me? Thanks in advance. -Sid

Im missing the novels, i know you cant write a book overnight But its been so long since Sea of sorrows was released.

Any idea if HoT will bring along new stories?

I’d like to see a short story contest in the Lore section, with the best of the best being selected for an anthology. It would also be nice to see some of those new guild logos that the community designed on shirts.

I’ve always wondered why game companies didn’t do more to take advantage of the creativity their games can attract. Having a clean slate merchwise leaves ANet in prime position to capitalize. -Sid
