I know about the melee range thing. What I meant was it attacks without line of sight. And I can confirm on multiple occasion, there was only 1 and not even looking at me. Not even once. It was concentrating on someone else. If it had looked at me once, I won’t say anything as it already registered by char there and can attack anytime, but I was facing to it’s back all the time and I still get hit? If this is not call OP, I don’t what is already. And people are screaming OP for condi builds now! LOL.

SirDrygan.1823

Dear Jon,

All you need to do is tweak condi dmg across the board downwards about 8% and you are good to go.
And buff the resistance of the World Bosses
Like for Example:
Make Teq
Immune totally to Poison. Teq spits poisons, why isn’t it Immune to poison?
Immune to bleeds when there are stacks of Hardened Scales
Make Teq use a tail attack when blinded.

Just to mention a few.

Shadow Behemoth
Immune to poison
Immune to siphon health type attacks.
Immune to bleeds as it is NOT a physical type creature.

Maw Shaman whatever it’s name is.
Immune to chill.
Immune to bleeds (add a Ice Scales stack for it)
Raise dmg output.
Tornado attack chills and freeze attackers

Fire Elemental
Immune to Burn (already there)
Immune to bleeds
Immune to Poison
Susceptible to chills and ice attacks.

Shatterer
Immune to bleeds
Immune to poison
Explosive Shards attack at random around the area.
Drop Shards and Shards pulsing damage in random area.

Modnir Ulgoth
Full HP after Pre-events and fights
Charging attack (just like the one in the Personal story for humans)
Summon minions Champs (NO LOOT)

Golem Mark II
Immune to bleeds
Immune to poison
(hey, it’s a machine, how can it be affected by bleed and poison)?
Immune to health siphon.
Armor degradation over time if melee attacks. Range attackers do not contribute to that.

Megadestoryer
Immune to burn (maintained)
Add a Burning Explosion stacks if people continue to burn it with burns.
Immune to poison
Susceptible to chills and freeze attacks.

Karka Queen
Armor Scales buff
Full hp second phase.
Immune to bleed during first phase.
Resistance to bleeds during second phase.
Immune to poison
Poison attacks increase by 100% to attackers

Claw of Jormag
Immune to chills
Immune to Freeze
More susceptible to burning
Frigid breath ticks longer by 2 to 3 seconds
Fear cannot be blocked or remove.
Fear at random and at reduced frequency. (you can’t have it cast fear 3 times in a roll, seen it before.)

Wizard guarding Arah
Tornado swing attack reflects ranged attacks
HP buff and Armor buff
Resistance to poison
Resistance to health siphon

VineWrath
South Lane – Beekeeper increase bees attacks more
Middle Lane – Thrasher adds tendrils attacks (but only if attackers are in line of sight), if you are behind it, it won’t be able to attack you).
North lane – Terragriff charge attacks BUFF. Gets stunned if hits the vine walls.

Great Jungle Wurm (Caledon Forest)
Immune to poison

Three Headed Legendary Jungle Wurm (Bloodtide Coast)
buff condi resistance. The fight is already hard as it is.

Just my suggestion.

And I already feel like I’m playing a MMO by myself because the community is so toxic that I’ve literally made it a point not to speak to anybody unless in a combat situation ,or asked something in the first place.

Make a comment about the HoT subject: People cussed me for hours in map chat, followed me from area to area, whispered me until I had to resort to blocking people.

Made a comment that 4 people fighting one warrior and never dropping him below 90% hp was kind of BS: Cussed, called a “kittentard” for hours on end, followed around, left PVP lobby and the whispers are STILL going on (Been about 30 minutes). This was after I made a point to say that I am INDEED new to the game and that it was entirely from a new player standpoint. (My GW2 Icon is flashing up a STORM right now from whispers.)

I’m honestly considering just muting everything but the system chat and taking solace that the game’s damage numbers won’t threaten my life, threaten to molest my children (Not that I have any) or spew constant vulgar insults at me.

Does anybody else feel like this? I feel like I might as well not even have bought the game. The reason you play an MMO is to meet new people and enjoy yourself. I feel like I’m tiptoeing around because no matter what I do, the entire map is just WAITING to blow up and just crap on anybody who dares speak.

Now, don’t get me wrong. If somebody is low enough to go around cussing somebody, trashing them and trying to make a scene, I’m not going to take that person seriously. The problem is that I CANT SEEM TO FIND ANYBODY ELSE WHO IS -WORTH- PLAYING WITH.

Level 17, human and the quest areas are empty. I think I maybe see…10 people a day?

I thought mega-servers meant all those “full” servers would be sharing some people to play with…

I don’t think that is Rytlock that was shouting it. But i may be wrong.

But if it is him, then there is a storyline loophole when Sylvari players speaks with him. We already know he trust us players in the living story. But the problem is, how the hell is this not a double standard when it comes to other Sylvari? He is shouting to say the Sylvari are no longer allies, yet we who mained a Sylvari can still talk to him? Doesn’t make any sense to me.

Also, another loophole is if the Grove’s Sylvari are supposedly immune to Mordy’s influence, why they turned on the Pact at that final battle in Point of No Return? Why didn’t the army of Tyria attack the Grove first? Or Rytlock lead the Charr to attack the Grove?

SirDrygan.1823

I don’t know if anyone noticed it, but Modrem Thrasher’s tendrils attacks don’t need line of sight to hit players. Many times the Thrasher is not even facing me and I am standing ABOVE it (like on a rock, hill, fort..etc) and it still hits?
I also want to nitpick about that range. Although I really could understand why it has that much range, when it’s boss’s attack range is even further. Still it is annoying.

Still, it’s that tendril attack that don’t need line of sight that is the problem. Seriously, we players and many mobs need line of sight to attack. But why only the Thrasher’s tendril attacks don’t need line of sight?

Is it intentional? Or a bug? or ANET don’t care at all?

So, does it makes any differences if she didn’t die? I think from a storyline point of view, her dying and not dying will only impact Braham the most. The rest of Destiny’s Edge v2 will be comforting him and saying we will take down Mordy and get revenge. Blah, blah, blah… Yawn…where have I read that before? Oh yeah, in many other games, books, movies…etc…

You want something more IMPACT?
Mordy destroying Half of Divinity’s Reach and Queen Jennah is badly hurt and in a coma. At the same time, Black Citadel and Hoelbrak get REKT too. The Grove and Rate Sum got attacked but the Asuran’s and the Sylvari’s gets the upper hand on Mordy because they know it best. But still many many deaths.

That is Impact…..

Guys, the community is more toxic than it’s ever been. The cause is the price tag for HoT being more expensive than we would have originally thought and more expensive than some can afford. But please, can’t we stop with all of this threatening and hate? If you can’t afford the expansion pack, I’m sorry. I don’t mean to be mean or unsympathetic but things cost money. Gw2 has no subscription fee and this expansion pack has no doubt been a huge drain of resources for Anet. They have to get their worth out of it. Just wait until it goes on sale or save up if you really need to get it. If you don’t think 50$ is worth whatever the expansion pack contains then just wait until it goes on sale or don’t buy it. Anet has been busting their kitten to offer all of this new content to us. Can’t we all please return some respect for their providing us with years of free and enjoyable content and what will no doubt be an extremely awesome expansion pack?

Deserve what? Respect? or Deserve a pat on the shoulder for a job well done?

I will give credit when credit is due. ANET DID gave us a great game. In fact, it is currently the only game I am still playing because it is fun! Even with the grinding, it is still fun to play with other players in world events/dungeons/story. The Living Story is good. I will give them that. But it could be better, but storytelling is a whole different dimension. At least ANET gave it a shot. I would say they get a B- for storyline on the Living Story.

We the “entitled” veteran players are the ones keeping this game healthy. Over the years, I have bought gems just to support ANET.

However, my respect for ANET has rocked bottom due to all this nonsense. I will not buy the HoT expansion now. I will only buy after launch date. Doesn’t matter to me if I play it months later. I still love the game. I just hate what ANET is doing.

And yes, ANET deserve all this. They brought it on themselves.

My theory is that the price is inclusive of Drytop and Silverwaste map (they just won’t tell you it is). Which makes it 4* maps at the moment.

Hi. Congratulations on launching your pre order. Unfortunately, the way you went about it upset a large group of your veteran players, some who feel they are not getting enough value, others feeling scammed because your marketing team pushes customers toward expensive upgrades without much subtlety, among other complaints.

You’ve said you’re listening.

You said you’re listening, yet you are not talking to your player base.

Some have said you don’t owe veterans anything. I disagree. You build your game around a living world. Veterans shaped that living world.

Veterans trained, guided, advised new players when your own systems where inadequate.

They led epic armies in zerg v zerg fights.

They provide a vibrant economy with their gold they earned running content with old players and new.

They’ve organised community events, provided the world with many notable characters.

They consume the content of your sponsored youtube personalities.

They organise maps to take out dragons and giant worms on a daily basis.

They provided detailed guides on the internet, blogs and youtube, even stickied posts on this very forum.

Veteran players helped made your game the great place it is.

So I suggest you do owe us something.

The common courtesy to talk to us.

Only people DO have an idea of what this will be like. We’ve played only a small portion, sure, but from the portion we’ve seen, it’s not worth the $50 price. Couple that with the fact that this game has been making poor decision after poor decision (the soon to come ravaging of the trait system and the movement control skill changes that render the “exciting new” reaper class, completely useless) and it’s easy to see why people are already predicting this won’t be worth a whole lot. So far they’ve given us a price, but have yet to show us why it’s worth it.
And I’m a vet since GW1 launch. Because that apparently freaking means something. Totally.

How did you come with the movement skill changes will make the reaper class useless? Explain?

Exactly. It’s not a question of cost so much as a question of what exactly are we buying. Again, it’s such a simple fix: just show us the updated map.

We’ll pretty much know what we’re getting then, I think.

Is that all its gonna take? A map?

What do you suppose the reaction will be if the map is indeed unveiled to use the entire grid of uncharted land on the map, the rest of Maguma, Cantha, and Elona?

Do you think the debate would rest, and the community unanimously agree that it was surely worth a 50 sheet?

What if they threw 2 new character slots?

This is a community that decided it was appropriate to get up in arms about an april fools day joke that had our characters making airplane noises, and this was somehow bad because a single plane somewhere on the planet just happened to crash ‘recently’.

There is no pleasing people, and no matter what you give them, they will find something to complain about. Me? I complain about people complaining.

If it was revealed that they will open the map until Elona, I will gladly pay the USD100, and buy another game for my brother to play.

People will complain to matter what, but you are not seeing that picture many of us are seeing. That is why you are saying “I complain about people complaining”.

Just dish out the 40gold for 20000 influence and get that done. With all the trash stuff you are going to get, I bet the extra slots will let you hoard more stuff. Don’t need to wait for HoT….Just doing 1 fractal, 1 Teq, 1 Jormag, a few more World boss, Ascalonian Catacombs p1,2,3, Citadel of Flames p1,p2. And you would have about 10Gold. Not to mention if you are lucky you get a good drop from the chest. So, lets just say you are unlucky, and you get no good drop but all greens and blues, it will take you just 4 days to get the gold to buy that influence needed. Or something like that….

We are paying $50 for 0 levels, 0 races, 1 profession, 9 sets of new skills (guessed 54-69 skills) 1 storyline, 0 dungeon, 1 region which includes 1 maps, and ‘all open betas’. That is HoT pre-purchase and what we know.

Price is basically the same, content is not.

1 region which includes 3 maps (You forgot Drytop and Silverwaste.)

My guess was that the pricing also included these 2 “free” maps. They are just trying to get back the money they spend on them.

I think you guys got it all wrong. The USD50 is to get back the money they spend making Drytop and Silverwaste.
So, it would make sense if they charge extra of USD10-20 for those 2 maps. And the 30-40USD is the price of the expansion plus the core.

I thought that’s what mail carriers were for.

Yeah, those were part of the trickle of content paid for by the gemstore. Just like everything we’ll see after HoT’s release, up till the next paid expansion.

I don’t think they got much out of the mail carriers. I saw some with the gemstore purchase mail carriers, but many may have already use gold to exchange for gems. And many still use the default carriers. So, I don’t think so.

I do not feel that opening 1 map.

Not that I necessarily disagree with you, but this whole HoT = 1 map is just factually incorrect. HoT = 1 region would be correct though (regions in the base game are from 4-7 maps).

We already know there are at least two PvE maps (Verdant Brink and the other one from specialization live streams) + 2 maps for guild halls and a WvW borderlands map. And that is likely not all of them.

The 2 maps for Guild Halls and the WvW is useless to me. As I play alone usually. I group up with other people during events. I only WvW if I have something I need to get from the WvW merchant. if not I stay clear of it. I am in a Tier 1 server, and it is not fair when your own server got sandwich by 200 players + 200 players vs 200 players. It’s my own opinion on the unfairness. In War, nothing is fair. I get that. But I still can voice out my opinion right? (And I digress).

Anyways, even with 2 maps, it just like the Living story maps Drytop and Silverwaste. And we get that for free! (at least that’s what we think).

Maybe ANET is just claiming back the money from giving us Drytop and Silverwaste….hmmm…

Just to inform you that I would not be purchasing HoT at all. The core gameplay is already fun as it is. If I can’t play the Living storyline myself, there is always youtube. True, it is not immersive if you are just watching people play, but do I have a choice here?

USD 50 = 3.7 times my country’s currency.

And I do not feel that opening 1 map with multiple layers plus many new changes to the game is worth that much in the first place.

However, nothing much I can do about it. So I choose not to buy it.

So, what was the point of rebuilding when the enemies are already IN LA. I think if the devs want LA to be in ruins, I guess there is no point in rebuilding, because the next thing you know, some enemies are going to destroy it again. And again, and again. It gets tiring when for the n.th time you “saved” LA, only to see it get destroyed again and again…etc.

SirDrygan.1823

I was leveling a warrior recently and found out one of the traits needs to be found at the level 70 Personal Story. So, I raced through and skipped all cutscenes for my warrior’s personal story. When I reached the part where Destiny’s Edge version 1 are meeting in Lion Arch’s, it was done in the ruined Lion Arch’s. What gives?

Then if Heart of Thorn’s Lion Arch’s is the new and improved Lion Arch’s, is that personal story part going to use the new one?

Heart of Thorn’s may change alot of things in the maps around Tyria. So, the personal story will be done in these HOT maps.

Which makes no sense whatsoever to many parts of the personal story. The personal story should be in the past already, yet when we are doing it, the area is in the present. It will get worst after Heart of Thorns is added. New players will be in a Personal Story that have areas that changed due to HOT. When the second expansion comes? or living story season 10 and Lion Arch is blown away by Primodus? Is that meeting going to happen on top of a crater?

Is this ANET laziness or just saving time or both?
