It isn’t about math. Anet made it clear is to stop large guild from overpowering everything. That is why they even have a favor cap per week.

My guild had 3m, we rushed all consumable and stocked 100 guild cata. Still have 1.8m i think.

gw2 is made using a modified engine of gw1…

gw1 is a programmed in a old school generation where there is little care about multi cores.

for gw2 to even implement dx12, they need to rewrite the whole engine to have parallelism.

naturally, amd will benefit greatly from properly multithreaded engine.

We currently have a average of 50~ online for SEA, 30~ online for EST and 40~ online for PST during weekdays. On weekend, we have 80~ online for SEA, 50~ online for EST, 60~ online for PST. Average 150~ daily logon.

I don’t see how this would have any impact on a server being able to climb up or fall down a tier. War score itself has nothing really to do with glicko. Glicko is all based on how much you win or loose relative to the other servers in your current match. So, if a group of servers had 24/7 coverage, and the final match was 300,000 / 150,000 / 150,000, the glicko change would be equal if the same group of servers had half the population and a final score of 150,000 / 75,000 / 75,000.

Yes, this system does reward lower population servers slightly by not changing the non-structure points (that’s kinda the point), but if your server is overpopulating the other two buy a great degree, this shouldn’t be an issue, as you are also killing yaks, flipping sentries and getting stomps.

A “Full” server is a server with a number of Active WvW Players (as defined by the algorithm) above a certain threshold. It has nothing to do with hardware limitations, or PvE players.

The “Full” threshold is slightly different than the other ones because it doesn’t have an upper limit. So some servers can be just slightly above the threshold and marked “Full”, and some other servers might be well over it, and also marked “Full”, even though their populations aren’t really balanced.

The intent is that since you can’t join or transfer to a “Full” server, their populations are going to diminish over time, until eventually they reach “Very High” again. At this point, all “Full” servers are going to be balanced. This won’t be right away, though, since we’re not kicking anyone out of their servers.

EBG JP was a pain to do because there were many people and everyone is kitten each other. Though sometimes it is fun to see two servers gang up on one server because that server decided to break the peace.

Well, the thing is, anet nerfed the chests. It used to be character instead of account and so, many was doing it using different characters, getting as much blueprints and badges as possible. Guilds even organised portals chain and get everyone in their guilds to do it because you can get a lot of blueprints for free. Then, they nerf the chests and put the chest as account. Those days are gone.

EDIT: Even if anet revert these changes, it wouldn’t be the same because blueprints can now be bought via TP. Last time, you can’t, we have to pass the blueprints via dropping and picking. So, basically, when you change something for convenience, you lose something at the same time.

Too bad it doesn’t work.

It will work but it will take at least one year (I assume) to show the result. Anet made it clear that they intentionally place that threshold in a way that some server will exceed it. Which generally means that they will not back down from their decision and will keep to it no matter how many people complain about it.

So guilds have to make a choice to destack or shrink. Players have to make a choice to stay or go other servers for their friends or even quit altogether. All of these are part of anet intention to shrink the servers.

the problem is caused by anet’s megaserver…

anet need to fix it, is not the players’ job to do so.

Don’t you get it guy? The entire point of the PvE map is so you can obtain advantages when you WvW. Ascended gear = better WvW performance, need to craft or PvE for it.

and the point about wvw is just to wvw……

anet need to balance the need for pve and wvw and pvp.

It is hard for me to determine the guild’s SEA prime starting timing but I believe it is around 7pm (GMT+8) and it last till around 1am (GMT +8). It will range from 40 online to 60 online during that timing, I believe will be more when HOT come. The EU timing for the guild is pretty dead, around 20 online. Then, when reach EST prime, it will go up to around 35 online.

the problem is that there are too many servers while too little intake thus it doesn’t work that well for bottom servers in practice.

the overall number of servers need to be reduced so that population will not spread out so thin to the point that it is hopeless

Do anyone know the transition process between the current guild upgrades and the new guild system? Do we have to upgrade everything all over again? If so, what will happen to the existing guild banks and the items?

They said on the stream that storage upgrades will stay intact, and banners will remain usable if you build them now.

Guild merits will be useless after HoT, and influence can be turned in to time based NPCs for the new favor, but they also said it is far less efficient to do that than to just stockpile banners.

All other upgrades will be gone, but guilds that have made upgrade progress will be given a special guild hall decoration to commemorate their past achievements, and this will be the only way ever to get that decoration.

Like all large guilds, things don’t always last. People will eventually quit or move on to a so-called greener pastures. Large guilds also has higher tendency to have drama though our last drama was 9 to 10 months ago and ever since we left our original server, we have no more drama.

Our NA population is not as active as used to be since a portion of our NA has quit the game. Recruitment is not that optimal in the NA tz, might be due to the server population. Though our SEA tz population is now 1.5x larger than it was a few months ago.

To be fair.. have you tried running GW2 wihtout the ability to test every single patch 100% fully and fix EVERY bug before release? :P

Under the current system anyone can buy Influence with gold and earn it several different ways in game no matter the size of any players guild. We have access to some things up until the Merit systems comes into play but at least we have access to some things but not everything. Mostly everyone has been content right? I think so…

So now with H.O.T influence is going away in the direction of the Favor system and the only way you can get Favor is by doing Guild Missions.

So now we are being told to join a bigger guild or go home, spam chat 5g per player for guild mission or claim guild hall, temp invite players into your guild then kick them after said mission etc. Rinse and repeat each week!!! Is this really what players want? I know I sure don’t

Guild resources are still time gated and amount capped per week regardless the size of the guild so not much troll guilds will be happing. It only means the bigger the guild the more Favor they will have per week and sooner they will hit the Favor cap etc.

Removing 3 person requirement to me would be a fair compromise to let everyone a chance to earn Favor without having to resort to the above tactics each week.

If there was no 3 person requirement then there would be no issues at all and everyone would be happy and this thread wouldn’t exist at all.

well, strictly speaking, u can get anything u want if u able to complete the task given to you. there are ppl who can solo arah even though it recommend 5 ppl. u can solo missions if u think u can do it but to ask it to be scaled for u, i think that is asking for too much. if requirement is 3 person, just get one or two more just to fill up that gap and u can go solo that missions, what is the big deal? i mean, like seriously?

a small guild will get a small guild hall, to get big one will means it will take longer time than a big guild. well, technically i think the time taken will depend if you can obtain the resources to build the guild.

if u wan a small guild to be able to obtain the most complete guild hall as fast as a large guild with the same amount combined efforts…..i think, thats logically not possible. naturally, it is also unfair for a small guild able to obtain a completed guild hall with less combined efforts put in than a large guild if there is such thing as “scaling”.

the current client is what you will use for ur expansion, nthing additional need to be done except for activating the HOT in your account
