Darkhaven needs lots of help. A good way to do that is to get your butt on the battlefield rather than standing in Lion’s Arch with your finger up your nose. Run around with us because it’s fun to watch Denis’ engineer get killed over and over again.

Hello there, you lovely people you. I hope you are having a good day.

Now that we have the formalities out of the way, let’s discuss. Heroes of Tyria’s Return (HotR) is currently recruiting. We are looking for quality, not quantity. And I don’t mean “top tier gg” quality. Here are our requirements:

A.) Be attractive.
B.) Don’t be unattractive.
C.) I lied, you can be unattractive. Just look at half of our guild.
D.) Have a sense of humor, and the ability to make fun of people. Especially Denis, screw that guy.
E.) Plan to be active for your own sake. There are no activity requirements, but we do dungeon runs daily, so you would be missing out if you chose not to come along.
F.) Have a liver made of steel.
G.) “Maturity”: Being able to laugh at others as well as yourself is a large portion of a healthy community. Should be around 18 years old or over as well.
H.) Constant representing is not a requirement, only when you are doing guild provided events and dungeons.

We are a cozy community – By which I mean there is quality not quantity, as was stated. The guild was started hundreds of years ago just before The Searing, so we’ve “been around” but not in the dirty way you are thinking…. Maybe…. You will very rarely find an empty guild chat, or Raidcall. For us the game is more about having a good time with different people and not just grinding out those oh so sweet achievement points. We run dungeons daily, and very frequently run WvW on Darkhaven but will also accept people from different servers. We are very active during prime-time, as well as a few on the off-times. Let us know if you are interested, and feel free to bring a friend or two or three.

Getting tired of threads like this. The moment Anet mentions Scarlet everyone feels they need to make a thread laying out in a carefully thought out post saying why they hate her. We get it. Anet gets it. Scarlet wasn’t a particularly well written character for whatever reason.

What Anet has done in the announcement the OP is adamantly calling out is the light at the end of the tunnel everyone else is calling for. The problem the OP can’t live with (and I can’t imagine why – this is a game after all) is that it’s going to take four more updates.

I don’t care for Scarlet much like the rest of us however I’m pleased to know there’s a light up ahead and it’s approaching fast.

There’s a couple of new bits about the Winter Wonderland jumping puzzle this year that you may find refreshing. The largest improvement is that you no longer have to wait until all of the players complete the puzzle in-between your attempts.

Refreshing is a good thing. Most people were much happier with this puzzle than with the Clocktower. Thanks!!

It was grindy but I’ve done things in games considered more so (not necessarily in GW2). I’d do the season 2 meta but the sentries and yaks need to be toned down numerically.

Wow…lots of DH caps in FCBL while nothing in GoM. Apparently, it’s not forgotten how FC beat us a couple times leading up to Season 1. If I wasn’t already obligated, I’d find some people and hit GoM and remind them we haven’t forgotten them either.

I just want an Elder Dragon to be next. All this ruckus being caused by Scarlet and her cronies will always be second banana to this.

All she’s really doing is taking all the established baddies in Tyria and putting them all together. It’s like Prince Charming uniting all the evil fairy-tale people and trying to give them their happily ever after.

…not only is DHBL pretty much blue…so is ETBL…

@ Avatar: During SF’s prime time, which follows NA prime time, their zergs focus DH. SF doesn’t have the full 24 hour coverage to consistently put 300 ppt or else they’d be in silver league so obviously a second server will gain the upper hand at some point. Apparently with this matchup, DH’s time is morning in NA. ET seems to be consistently in the middle somewhere never really getting a good ppt lead at any time.

@ Bleach ET is doing what its supposed to be doing. Its doing what I would do would I find myself in their position. All the blue you’ll see in ET’s territory looks to be done by havoc squads capping camps and sometimes the odd tower. Either my luck is horrible in checking the map but it’s looked very consistent. Could ET’s defense be that good in defending against SF’s zergs? Yes. However I spend much of my time in DHBL during prime time which seems to feature SF zergs on a consistent basis.

Yes, I am bias. Yes, it’s irritating.

Calling it as I see it: SF has decided to put ET in second. We’ll keep fighting trying to prevent that, you can count on that, but from the perspective of DH, the cards are stacked against us. We get this same matchup in the last week of the season. Curious to see where we all stand then…

Unfortunely i belive the winner is already decided, and so it begins the fight for 2nd.

Don’t think it’ll be a fight in so much that it’ll be Sorrow’s Furnace to decide who will finish second. SF merely needs to defend but whats the fun in that, right? ET will obviously focus on DH and DH will have to focus on ET leaving SF.

Looking at the map…SF seems to have already decided. (SF owns two keeps in DHBL while they own 0 of ET’s.)

So much this. We as players created this problem. Anet can’t fix it by forcing people to move. They are trying to keep WvW interesting. Go ahead and be mad at them for it.

Darkhaven has a very active PvE population as Lion’s Arch is full most of the time. Attempts to get that crowd to the Borderlands are mainly futile.

We suffer the same plight as our dedicated WvW guilds aren’t as large nor as organized as [SE] and [Abys] were. [PD] and [DHE] are trying and doing good things but we, as a server, find ourselves struggling against servers we used to dominate.

For this to do what they want…they’re looking at the wrong population. For Darkhaven, you’ll see at most times we’re very high however our WvW population would speak the contrary.

Our server, or any server with a low WvW yet a very high PvE population, will not benefit from this at all. Unfortunately, there’s no way Anet would allow us to see that.

Unfortunately, Anet can’t force people to move to other servers. Everyone will agree that the disparity between servers 1-3 and 4-6 exists. However when it comes to the opportunity to fix it by moving people other servers, no one will volunteer to move. Winning the Gold League will feel too good.

I think Anet wanted to give the community a couple of weeks to work the kinks out in our approach to fighting Tequatl. Remember the tears we cried when we all first went through the Ascalonian Catacombs dungeon but ultimately came to the point of farming them.

Anet likely took the same silent approach with this content and allowed us to re-learn how to play the game in this instance. Obviously, this boss is unique as we don’t zerg around it spamming 1.

Whichever server [SE] decides to go to, it was fun running around with you guys and quenching our thirst with the tears of our foes. Its going to stink worse than a pair of used gym socks for us the first few weeks after but we’ll pull through. We have before, we will again.

Colin spoke to this in an article not too long ago but I can’t find it this instant. They had some technical issues to dance around plus they didn’t think it was the greatest to split the community between those who had slapped Zhaitan around and those who didn’t.

I am also guilty of this. I had gotten Storm from the Karka event. Sold it for 30g. I cry everytime I see Storm on a TP search and see what it goes for now.

the system is only broken for ranks 1-5 think about that for a second.

It may be becoming broken for ranks 8-14 too because of the ratings gap developing.

Manual intervention is the only solution.

As it was at the beginning of the year when A-net pumped up the ratings for ET and FC to allow the third server, which was Sorrow’s Furnace, to get out of the tier. SF was actually losing points because they couldn’t beat the two servers by 200k or whatever it was as their rating suggested they should.

Edit: tear and tier aren’t the same thing.

Am I rerolling? No, I am already traited for ‘Zerker/Shatter which happened during the obliteration of Confusion. But I’m looking at getting my Necro out of the starter event.

First the Condition Damage builds and now the Phantasm builds. Will the Shatter builds be next? It seems all we have left.

If nothing else, the scepter looks more interesting. Hard pressed to see a Mesmer not running with a sword prior to this. Hooray for diversity!

Putting people in a position where you, as the Mesmer, dictate what they do. They cast a skill, they take damage; they do nothing, they take damage; they do their auto attack, they take damage. In GW1, this was way to fun to watch people w/o hex removal essentially kill themselves.

So happy I haven’t broken down my Rabid Armor. I believe this will bring back the condition based Mesmsers that did so much with Confusion before. fingers crossed

They did this to all three mentors players get depending on the order they select.

I always keep Mass Invisibility as my default. I mostly roam solo or in small groups, and it’s great for getting the jump on an enemy that hasn’t seen you coming.

I’ll switch to Time Warp during sieges and zerg vs. zerg situations.

They’re on to us, Darkhaven. Zerg mentality may have worked in T7 but it won’t work forever here in T6 and we’d get annihilated in T5. Improvize, Adapt and Overcome.

congratulation ANET, you have just killed a variation of mesmer build…. congratulation again…. burst build is the only option for mesmer right now….

and oh yeah… 25 stack of confusion is very exaggerated indeed……

When you have groups of Mesmers all running the Glamour style confusion build, 25 stacks apparently isn’t that difficult to pull on a zerg. A-net decided to take out the entire condition rather than that particular type of build.

If in the next month Anet doesn’t compensate at least for the Shatter confusion builds (which is what I ran), the number of Mesmers will die away as not everyone likes to run Glass-Cannon. Either they greatly increase the duration or change the way it stacks or even return some (but not all) of the damage.

Confusion was ridiculously OP prior to this patch. I have no idea if the fix was too much yet, but it seems to be the case.

Now for the best part, will all these bandwagon Mesmers adapt, or move to the next Hot thing.

Sounds like you were a victim of Confusion more than not. Looking at your professions in your signature, I notice one in particular that is missing. I would like to hear that you’ve a level 80 Mesmer and have tried it in WvW. That way you don’t look like another troll.

Telling people to adapt is like being told to learn how to play. It is very disrespectful regardless.

One can only hope they notice the free fall in the number of Mesmers in WvW and feel its a bad thing. The cries of people having to face an enemy where you’re punished for attacking (one of the core ideas behind the Mesmer profession) have been heard. Now it’s our turn.
