Ascended gear is earned not bought, If you could sell them, everyone could get them and earning them would mean nothing!
Are you sure that you didn’t get the cultivated seed and convert it to the seedling without realizing it? You did say that you did that awhile ago.
I may have had one back when I created the first backpeice (Mysterious Vine backpiece) several months ago. When I started on the Cultivated Vine backpeice, this week I only had the Cultivated Seedling.
It seems the Pet Seed has replaced the Cultivated Seed.
Pet Seed + Mysterious Vine backpiece = Cultivated Vine backpeice
What’s weird, I never did get a Cultivated Seed and never even needed it???
Pet Seed now equals Cultivated Seed??? Looks that way?

I got it but, the Wiki is wrong! This is what I did.

Acquisition option #2
That just gave me a Cultivated Sprout, not the Cultivated Seedling, now I lost my Seedling! I double checked it, I had the Package of Ley Line Dusted Plant Food and not the Package of Oasis Soaked Plant Food! I did Vexa’s Lab thing to get it just yesterday!
What the heck is going on, is the Wiki Wrong????
Now what??
(edited by Sola.7250)
I created the Mysterious Vine backpiece some time ago and trying to make the Cultivated Vine Backpiece.
I have everything but the Cultivated Seed, I do have a Cultivated Seedling.
Following the dulfy.net guide , it says “If you went ahead and turned your seed into seedling by using the Mist Infused Clay pot, you will be unable to exchange it for Cultivated Seed and need to wait for a further patch”
http://dulfy.net/2014/08/13/gw2-cultivated-vine-backpiece-guide/
Questions:
1. What patch?
2. How do I get a Cultivated Seed without have to create another Mysterious Vine backpiece?
3. Is there any way to convert a Cultivated Seedling back to a Cultivated Seed?
Thanks Khisanth, got the Crystal after killing six sparks, spend an hour killing them yesterday in different places!
I used this link and it shows the areas where I was hunting.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Buzzing_Crystal (unhide) lists the areas to find them
(edited by Sola.7250)
Buzzing Crystal best place to get one? Needed to complete collection.
- Tired Spark Elementals in Harathi Hinterlands killed 100, no luck.
- Sparks and Veteran Air Elementals in Cathedral of Eternal Radiance no luck.
It’s seems GW2 is not advancing, it’s just going sideways. Other than some new areas that open up in living story and UI changes what is really new??
- Having to due content twice to get rewards for Living Story is just lame!
- Charging returning players for Living Story content, bad idea.
- Leveling new characters for experienced players is horrible (dumbed down).
- Trying to turn WWW into some sort of Esport (not why I bought the game).
- A lot of new events still don’t scale to the number of players.
- Players still being kicked from maps and dungeons.
- More and more recycled content.
Another year is about over so what ever happened to?
1. Crafting level 500 for Food and Jewelry?
2. Crafting Precursors?
3. New professions, no new levels, no new races?
4. New dungeons?
Second try solo, I’ve spent almost an hour on this, got red only twice, got him down only about 40%, it’s a pain. Every time the red shield ends and try to get out the field, I get pulled back in an die (17K + health to zero in less than a second). Seems like doing this with a Necro is impossible. How about random bosses, rooms, traps & loot in dungeons instead of this crap Anet?
Don’t see the reason for this, don’t like it, let players buy/convert what they want!
The Mini Map will show wrong direction on some maps? Player going north on Map, Mini Map will show player going south??? Some maps it works ok, other it doesn’t.
What can I use in the upgrade slot, tried gems, etc. nothing seems to work?
The Feature Patch seems like a down grade, very unhappy.
- Low Population Map, why does the game always put me on a low Pop Map every time, then if I transfer the world boss event I’m trying to do is always ended after the transfer.
- Even after the two years now Anet still can’t seem to balance the different Professions. I don’t like playing half of my characters any more, they just don’t feel the same.
- Less Blade Shards from Home node, use to get 5-8 every, day now half the time I get zero or lucky to get just 1.
- Less Dragonite Ore, even when I manage to do a World Boss, I get less loot and Dragonite Ore than before. Are my characters doing less damage then before?
- Still tons of little glitches, from armor/weapon skins that don’t unlock, Trading Post issues, Event glitches, Salvaged unused items where you end up with account bound stuff, etc, etc, etc. Not to mention that events in the new Living Story Maps don’t even scale.
I feel like a Beta tester after this Feature Patch, this is just unacceptable for a 2 year old game. The whole game just feels like it’s being dumb’ed down and going backwards.
Like to hear more about the new Gathering Node, like what players are getting from it? One or two onions and/or heads of cabbage just doesn’t seem worth it!
Would like to see;
– Berry Gathering Node (strawberry, blueberry, raspberry 2-3 each per gathering).
– Herb Gathering Node (4-6 different Herbs (all levels) per gathering).
Using Mozilla (SeaMonkey) and still have issues, it displays the page in text format, something is wrong with CSS. No issues with any other Web Site, so it’s some thing with GuildWars 2.com.
This gated leveling sucks, here’s a solution!
New Player – gated leveling
Existing Players (already level 80) – no gated leveling for addition characters (Alts).
Your sixth character shouldn’t be more pain to level than your first!
(edited by Sola.7250)
Your not going to get new levels, new races or professions without an expansion. The Living Story stuff is just lame, the events in season 2 don’t even scale, once the mobs are gone, so is any gameplay! You just don’t see design like that with an expansion. All the Living Story together so far wouldn’t make a good expansion.
Living Story Season 1 – a one trick pony.
Living Story Season 2 – a one trick pony x 2, you have to do the same content twice, LOL!
Ascended Weapons/Armor are things you earn, not something you buy!
Don’t know what’s going on but, the game is becoming unplayable.
- Drop by server / game unplayable at the last boss in dungeons (no reward), more than once.
- Drop by server/ game unplayable at the end of event (no reward)
- Unable to even login more than a few times
Expect better communication on GW 2 web site, on what’s going on here?
The problem isn’t a lack of content, it’s the fact the content is the same the first time or 100th time, the content lacks any type of randomness!
Dungeons should be about exploring the unknown with a risk/reward system, not just kill boss 1, 2, 3!
The biggest issue with Dungeons is, they are always the same each time, same mobs, same bosses all at the same locations doing the same thing. Dungeons need random content, hidden areas, random traps, random mobs, random bosses, make players find loot don’t just reward! Pugs, players shouldn’t be the only random element.
Cooking is only level 400 but, every time I add a new recipe, half time I can’t find it. It takes longer to find the recipe, then it does crafting it.
Please Anet sort the names of recipes by name or give us the ability to sort by name, level, etc!
The game needs some more low-level dungeons and some design changes, where no one can be kicked from low-level dungeons!!! The big issue is, the current low-level dungeons don’t work for low level characters!
Just logged in again and tried to play PVE, can move but, no other keys work, can’t attack or farm (f) key not working.
Three times now, when I enter the dungeon SE, I get a game client message, “Unable to Access Sever log” and/or get disconnect!!!
Remember
long term goals = long term players
short term goals = short term players
I think, one of the issues with guild wars 2 is, too much content is short term, like the 2 weeks and done living world content. I was surprised by how few players there were in Dry Dock last night. If all the content could be done in just a few days or weeks, I don’t think there would many players left in the game!
Crafting at Grand Master level is one of the few pieces of long term content in the game.
You are trying to craft Ascended gear (Grand master level), it’s the highest level crafting in the game. It can take weeks to a month just to get & make materials for a single weapon and several months to make Ascended armor.
Try learning how to make gold with your 500 level Weapon smith crafting first, then start making Ascended material.
Hint:
Run 3 or more World Bosses for Dragonite per day
Run 3 or more Dungeon paths for Gold, plus Empyreal Fragments & Bloodstone Dust
Use Dungeon Tokens to buy & Salvage Dungeon weapons & armor for materials.
(edited by Sola.7250)
Too me it’s not about the amount of content (too much, too little), it’s about the replay-ability of the content. Almost all of the GW2 content is the same the 1st time or the 100th time. I
I would rather see caves & mini dungeons on each map with random hidden locations, traps, bosses and loot. Make player’s explore and find loot vs just reward it at the end, would be better, adding more long term play than this living world stuff.
So far, meh! I’m just not seeing anything to hold my interest! I wish I could form a party with the NPC’s I want to do the story with like an RPG.
- I don’t like, have to use special currency just to buy a pick or salvage kit.
- Once again no storage for the new crafting materials.
- The sand storm is a nice effect.
The Dredge in the Mines north east part of Dredgehaunt Cliffs, also the Dredge outside the entrance of Sorrows Embrace. They can be found in the miners bags, pop some magic find food and go hunting!
Charging players if they comeback for the Season 2 content is just wrong and a real bad idea, it will discourage players from coming back.
I still think the game need a real expansion, new races, new professions, player housing, stronger RPG elements (not less). So far we haven’t see any this with living story content. The repeated living story content wasn’t much fun the second time around.
All the new content won’t help much if it’s the same every time you do it!
The game need some randomness for events, world bosses and most of all for dungeons. Random bosses, trash mobs, traps, bosses to move about the world and not just stand there, make players find loot don’t just reward it! Too much if not all of GW2’s content is the same each time it’s done, it’s need some randomness to keep it fresh.
Is there a way to backup GW2 without re-downloading it? I need to replace a failing hard drive and re-install windows.
Dungeons should be about exploring the unknown, not doing the same thing each and every time. Anything is easy after you do it 100+ times! If it wasn’t for lodestones everyone would quit doing dungeons.
Dungeons don’t need to be harder, they need to be more random!!! Random Bosses, trash mods, traps & loot all at random locations. Make players find loot don’t reward it, that will end the gold speed runs!!!! Heck just create some hallways with 50 doors, any dungeon run would have 20 random doors, each may contain a Boss, trash mob, traps or treasure, that would be better than what we have now.
Anet already said they will add Precursor crafting, so just get all the other requirements done and wait/relax! Besides, having a Legendary doesn’t change anything!
Try trading with someone with other types of core/lodestones for the ones you need.
Magic Find seems to work in a some what random fashion, I got better loot drops when I was at 90-95 than I did at 100-115, now at 120+ seems to be working again, don’t know maybe they tweaked it.
Remember you don’t just get the material you also get gems of various types.
Buying it with in-game gold is worth it, I can’t count how many times I had to WP to a vender (which costs silver) to buy more picks!
Making things harder is not better when dungeons and bosses are always the same, doing the same thing, add some randomness Anet!!!
Once players fall behind in Living World Content, they are not going to pay to come back/catch up, that’s the danger! I haven’t seen anything in Living World content released yet, that’s worth paying for.
Try sponsoring events (Champ runs, farming, map completion, etc.) invite people then after the event ask them to join your guild.
Run pug dungeon groups and after a successful run, ask the players you want to join.
Don’t just spam players in the open world with invites
So far there has been nothing in Living World Content worth paying for! All of the Living World Content released so far was finished in a week or less. The claims that released Living World Content was equal to an expansion is just BS. I don’t like being nickle and dime’d for limited content and will not buy a week’s worth of content even with in game currency. Create a real expansion with new races, new classes, new skills, new maps, new dungeons and some randomness then you got something worth buying with real money.
Expansion = New races, new levels, new maps, new professions, etc, not pay if you don’t login! The future doesn’t look to bright if all we get is chapter by chapter Living Story stuff!
If you don’t login, you need to pay to doing Living World, Huh? Anet, None of the Living World stuff so far has been worth paying for, dumbest idea yet!
Anet, if you want money from me, you’ll need to do a hell of a lot better than this!

Dedicated Sprinter
- Just ran 2 Sanctum Sprint Races and achievements still show 0/10.
Welcome Party
- Attended the greetings twice with 2 different characters, achievement still shows 0/1
Fewer rewards = fewer players, Anet should know better by now!
