More than likely this is a memory issue, 32 bit windows client can still only access less than 4 MB of memory regardless of how much is in your PC. I’ve never had crashes until HoT.
It does seem funny how older professions got nerf’ed but, not the newer HoT ones!
Last night I did the Harathi events and out of 68 supply bags and salvage of 38 pieces of armor I got 4 linen scraps, 19 silk and 8 gossamer. I just don’t seem to get linen anymore.
Like I said, I’m getting little or no linen just silk from the normal places like Dregdehaunt, Timberline, etc.
The Wiki no linger lists the lvl 40-60 area, only scrap level 44-63 for light armor.
Is high level magic find effect getting silk and not linen??
Do you now need a level 40 character to get linen now?
I have a 60 MB internet connection and last night the lag was so bad the game/character commands would become unresponsive for up to 2 seconds during fights, I’ve never seen this before.
I use to get a nice mix of Silk & Linen from salvage/lot bags but, now I just silk, places I use to go just don’t work anymore. The Wiki and all of the farming guides are now outdated/useless. So where are the best places (post HoT) to get linen?
Some one told me you now need level 40 character to get linen, true?
All of my characters are level 80.
When I try to access “The Toxin-Cured Hog [Hero Point]” in Auric Basin I get a message that this content has be disabled, what???
1. Are Raids HoT content only?
2. Will the LFG tool be upgraded to support 10 players for Raids?
3. Are Raids timer content or on demand?
In less than 3 weeks, I’ve hit the wall with GW2 HoT, tired of the long Meta Events, sick of 75% of the maps and way points being contested. It’s just run like hell from one event to another, it’s getting old way to fast, Even Orr is relaxing compared to this!
GW2 with HoT is becoming too much of a twitch game for me.
Ascended Armor was top tier, I’ve created 2 full sets (1 Hv, 1 Lt) through crafting and farming but, now there’s all this talk of Legendary Armor, I’d hate to see the cost of that!!!
Raid gear the next grind??
I’ve spent hundreds in Gold and the time to get my characters the way I want them. I don’t want to do have to this for each game mode.
Wouldn’t it be more equal and easier to balance if we all used the same (Armor, Weapons, Runes, etc) for all content.
Banning in game gear to play in game content makes no sense. Is this really the best way to balance the game???
Everyone knows they nerfed the Gold, I’m asking why does Story Mode give more Silver than Explorer mode?
Story Mode = 50 Silver
Path X = 35 Silver
More Silver and the same loot for Story Mode makes no sense!
HoT can be somewhat difficult at first but, hang in there, it get’s easier.
Do the following:
1. Do the Story first.
2. Get some Speed boosters/food and just run around the map unlocking area’s, picking up the Way Points.
3. Then join in on some events.
4. I’ve unlocked Hero Points to get 2 characters their new skills.
5. Don’t spend all your time in HoT or you’ll get burnt out, go back and play the content you like.
6. It get’s a lot easier when you run a second character through the same HoT map.
7. Use the LFG tool to find others to help do content.
More and more videos are being released every day on how to get things and timing of events in HoT.

I’ve been doing Story mode on my new character and I get 50 Silver for Story mode but only 35 Silver for each path, that seems backwards.
Why would you get more for Story mode? Also I seem get the same or better loot for CoF & WoH in Story mode than path 1?

First thing I did.
1. Do the Story content, this can be done solo.
2. Use some speed Skills/Boosters to just running past everything to explore the map and uncover all of the way points. While completing the Mastery for Gliding and Mushrooms.
3. Then go back to pickup POI’s and Mastery Points.
4. Join groups for events and Hero points.
Most of the Events are group content, use the LFG tool and/or join a Guild.
Every here of the LFG tool???
You can also quest on other servers!!
Anet needs to change the LFG tool to allow 10 player groups/squads for HoT Content, making it easier to get more players together.
I think they need to adjust the timers on some things as well, the whole map shouldn’t become contested everywhere at once, making getting some where difficult.
Mobs/Champs shouldn’t just spawn on top of you, I really really hate that. You stop to check the map and some event/mob spawn’s right on top of you.
MMO’s should have a good balance of short, medium and long term player goals. Anet didn’t do a good job developing and defining them in HoT.
Try guessing on another Server!
Would be nice to have HoT LFG events a different color from base game evens, maybe add a checkbox in the LFG tool to select HoT content areas.

Ok, I’m still mostly on the first map, even though I’ve gotten a ton of chests but, the loot just sucks! Even with 191% magic find I’ve gotten mostly blues and greens. I use to get better loot from silver waste, boss events or Orr Temples. Plus I’m losing gold/silver, the cost of going back to way points every time I die or trying again to get somewhere.
It just seems wrong to be doing the highest level content in the game and not getting anything to show for it!
Is Magic Find dead now or not working???
I’m still only on the first Map and having fun, I still haven’t finished it and still have a hard time trying to navigate it, tricky. It will take time to lean these maps, I only wish Anet would design Dungeon maps like this!!
I’ve been running maps in Tyria with my new Revenant and loot is just crap even with a 190+ magic find, noticed each map now shows a list of loot/rewards.
So are map loot/rewards now fixed???

No, the real issue is Anet never told everyone the HoT is Group Content, not Casual Solo like the base game. I just wonder what happens when the Sergs (groups of players) are all gone from the Maps in couple of weeks/months??
Is all future end-game content going to be group only??
You get experience for everything in the base game (pve, pvp, crafting, farming, WvW, Dungeons, Events, etc.), HoT limits the type of things that get you the type of experience you need for this or that. Why not use the base game approach, allowing players to do what they want/like to get the experience needed.
Would have liked to seen new weapon types added for specialization VS just getting access to existing weapons.
Relax, have fun and wait until you reach level 80. There is a ton of content in the base GW 2 game so no need to rush. You may want to join a Guild so you will have players/Friends to join when your ready for HoT.

Gee, I guess Anet forgot to tell you, end game (HoT) is all about group content (Raids, PvP, Fractals, Guilds, etc), casual PVE is Dead going forward.
GW2 Just went from a mainly casual PVE, to a group play game with this expansion, Some one wanted to put the Guild back into Guild Wars.
Funny, how they forget to tell every one!!

65% gold decease (1 gold to 35 silver) is too much of a Nerf. I feel sorry for players who are trying to get their crafting to 500 and make ascended weapons/gear. Dungeons were the only constant source of gold income for many players.
I suggest the following;
Path == any dungeon, any path
1. First Dungeon path run = 1 gold.
2. Second & Third path runs = 50 silver each.
3. Four or more paths runs = 25 silver each.
This way you can get 2 gold per day running any 3 paths.
Does Anet really expect players to play 4 hrs a day just to get 2 gold???

Will wait for the complete content to be released and some reviews. Sadly the expansion doesn’t have one single thing I wanted;
— no new dungeons,
— no random content (trash mobs, bosses, etc).
— no player housing.
— no new playable races.
— no new weapon types.
— no new crafting levels.
— Anet said Ascended was the top level gear, they lied, now it’s Legendary!
I’ll do Halloween content then take a break.
Two major releases in one day, I wonder what possible could go wrong??
They need to improve Dungeons, not kill them off.
1. First, get rid of the kill boss 1,2,3 and get your reward mode.
2. Add randomness, random hidden rooms, random bosses, random traps, random mobile trash mobs. Make dungeons fun, design dungeons with 50/60 doors with only a random 20-25 available for each instance when you run it!
3. Random bosses that do more than just stand in the same place each time.
It’s sad Anet can’t design content with some level of randomness!
Bad move, this is the way the game was before too many complained they didn’t like PvP, WvW, etc. for rewards. Trying to force players to do content they don’t like isn’t the way to go. It didn’t work before in GW2, so why do it again?
WOW – why kill the current content/rewards because of the expansion? Sounds like they just trying to push everyone to the expansion. Now it’s buy the expansion or just get left behind, there will be little incentive to stay with GW2 if you don’t get it or like the expansion. So far I’m unsure of the expansion, waiting for it’s release and some reviews.
Huh, if I’ve known the Slayer Title was PvP only, I’m not sure I would have finished killing the 1000 giants, what a waste of time.
Last night I completed the Slayer achievement with the killing of the last 1000 giants, I got the achievement icon + points but, when I tried to select the Slayer Title I didn’t see it in the pull down list, bummer! Did they remove the Slayer Title???

I have the following in Mystic Forge but can’t create it.
1. Grow Lamp (1)
2. Bloodstone Bricks (3)
3. Essence of Luck (4)
4. Box of Captured Light (1)
Using the same character that has the known Grow Lamp Recipe, double checked there is no recipe for the Powerful Grow Lamp.
A Guardian can do over 50K in damage, you would be hard pressed to do that with a Engineer, Necro or Ranger.
So if each professing can’t do the same amount of damage, what are the goals in balancing each professing? I thought GW2 goal was to make each profession different but still be able to equally handle the different content in the game (PVE. WvW, Dungeons) but, with the latest patch it’s seems no longer to be the case, the differences between some professions is seems greater than it was before.
Is GW2 going away from Equal to Specializations for professions like (tank, support, healer)?
Sorry to see the state the game in now, the game was easy before now it’s just a joke.
Anet’s idea of balance, breaking professions like thief that wasn’t broken and just over powering everything. I’ve seen Anet respond with plans to double hit points on everything to make up for their poor balance, huh?

I wanted a GW2 expansion but, no new races, no new dungeons, no player housing, no new crafting profession and what do we get, 1 new profession & gliders plus another copy of GW2, huh?
I could careless about tearing bark, Guild Hall, Strongholds or Specializations. HoT doesn’t contain one thing I wanted to see in an expansion.
Looks like it’s finally time to move on, 2 good years and had fun but, it’s time to say Bye Bye GW2!
Agree, there shouldn’t be two of same (Fractal, Mining, etc) in Dailies!!!
Any content becomes easy when it’s the same each and every time (Dungeons, World Bosses, etc) and on a timed schedule. The game need random content, Dungeons with random traps, random trash mobs & random bosses. Random world bosses with random attacks that can roam the map and not just stand in the same place until dead.
The game doesn’t need more bosses or events on a timed schedule or Dungeons that are the same each time you play them. We don’t need harder content just more random content!
Ascended gear is something you earn, you can’t just buy it, like legendary weapons. I got my crafting skills to 500, I farmed the materials and gold to make them. Sense the start of Ascended crafting, I am just about to complete my first full set light Ascended armor. It’s not easy but, it’s one of the few long term goals there is in the game.
Too those who think Ascended gear is unfair, go earn them, that’s what everyone else did! Any changes to Ascended gear will make completing long term goals or earning things in the game just meaningless.
Anet has already given in to the crybabies too many times, your earn something special and then they then make it available to everyone (AKA crystal nodes).
You really aren’t going to make much by crafting, most items sell for a loss or just selling the raw material net’s more. I’m level 500/400 in all areas, it takes a lot of work and some luck to make money crafting!
WARNING!!! double check the item price on the in-game trading post before crafting something listed on gw2spidy.com or gw2tp.net the market price for items can change quickly. Also just because something is listed at a high price doesn’t mean it will sell anytime soon!!!
