How come I see so few LFG doing path4 of dungeons?
Are they really that much harder?
If you plan to do crafting, high level areas are the only place to farm tier 6 materials. You also need them to get 100% map completion and explorer achievements!
Huh, I don’t even understand this?
Do these new back items have stats or are they just skins?
How come no one ever kills the Boss at the top of the stairs? He gives a chest and it opens a way point, I see groups going around him all the time.

Items never show
I starting running into this in Honor of Waves Path 1 final Boss Room
My Guardian Sometimes can’t switch between Staff & Greadsword throughout the battle with final boss.
Anyone know what’s going on?
Sadly your right, I’ve never run into jerks before but, doing dungeons there are more than a few.
To me the biggest issue is not doing anything to keep the group together, if one member falls behind and get’s downed nobody seems willing to go back and help them! If you are running the group keep everyone together it will help in the long run!
The goal should be to have fun, not see how fast you can run!
1 Dungeon path run = 1-1.5 gold
2 Dungeon path runs = 2-3 gold per day
2 Dungeon path runs per day for a week = 14-21 gold!
Making 14-21 gold per week you can buy what ever you need!!!
Lean to do Ascalonian Catacombs path 1 (1.5 gold) and Honor of the Waves path 1 (1.0 gold)
You can do both in under an hour, you will not only get gold but, lots of other goodies!
You can only get it by Salvaging exotic Soldier’s armor!
Skelks in Southsun. Gives fangs too.
Yep, that’s where to go!
The simple truth is, most people don’t understand supply & demand, you can make a profit, if you learn how!
1. go to
http://www.gw2spidy.com/
2. Select “Crafting” from the top menu, then select your crafting profession.
3. Look for items that you can craft that make a profit and have high demand and/or low supply.
- note: double check prices on the TP, just before you craft!
4. Craft item(s)
-note: try to find items where you have all or most of the material, so you can make it cheaply.
5. Sell item(s)
- note: it make take a few days to a couple of weeks to sell. The more expensive the longer it takes.
6. Go get your coin, Da’ you make a profit!
Most of the daily mini-games also give karma as a reward and are repeatable.
Karma is hard to get, you just need to know where to get it!
The Mystic Forge is like playing the lottery, sure someone will win sometime but, 99.98% of the rest of us will lose!
You can with the Mystic Forge

Garnet Pebble + Garnet Pebble + Garnet Pebble + Garnet Pebble = Copper Doubloon
Lapis Lump +Topaz Lump +Sunstone Lump +Peridot Lump = Gold Doubloon
Makes you wonder, what’s the point of doing Living World content when the rewards become worthless, very lame Anet, very lame!
Agree, you should be allowed to salvage ascended armor/weapons or make them account bound.
Looks like Tailor and Leatherwork are missing Thermocatalytic Reagent!!!!
Because Anet can’t design crafting to 500, they just limit it, lame, very lame!
If you farm materials, then you can make money from crafting, because there is no costs.
Sadly the material to craft high level items is more times than not, worth more than the crafting items, always check the material cost vs. the selling price.
I’ve been doing daily runs in Orr for crafting, trying to get huntsman to 500 and use to kill everything I ran into but, now it’s just not worth it. Even with 100% magic find I’ve been getting little or nothing for the last 2 weeks.
I wonder if something changed? Crafting Armor to 500 is going to be a royal pain if the loot drops in Orr remain the same.
Did something happen to loot drops in Orr? I seem get nothing from most kills anymore and when I do get something, it’s a white 60% of the time.
My drop rate is like 50% for kills in Frostgorge Sound and never had an issue before in Orr.
Anyone else notice this?
Ehmry Bay, haven’t seen champ farming in Frostgorge in weeks, not even on the weekends?
I never see anyone farming champs in Kessex Hills, even with it’s high respawn rate, why?
Can anyone recommend a NA server where they still farm camps?
Exotics are easy to get!
Do champ Zergs, World Boss Events, Orr temple events.
Just doing Shadow Behemoth in Queensdale once a day will get you one!
I just hit 500 in Weaponsmith, already had 500 in Artifacting. Took me about 4 to 5 weeks to get from 400-500 in crafting in each area.
I farmed Orr for mats & salvaged gear from champ Zergs.
Orr temples & world champ events for Dragonite Ore
Blood Stone Dust from champ Zergs.
Empyreal fragments from Orr chests and Jumping Puzzles.
Also used laurels to buy Heavy Crafting bags for T6 mats.
It only costs me a few gold 3-5, I also sold some Berserker Orichalcum Imbued Inscriptions for gold, this helped pay the way.
The biggest pain is wood, It’s a long grind for wood (soft wood, hard wood, seasoned wood, etc).
I would recommend crafting Magic Forge salvage kits and buying the trading post tools (pick & axe), I used gold I had so I didn’t spent any real money. It also helps to have multiple level 80 characters, you can keep on different maps for farming & events.
Is it worth it?
No, I really don’t notice any real difference between Exotics vs Ascended weapons.
You can get the same or better results using Exotics weapons with food boosters.

After I get to 500 in crafting in weapon smith later this coming week, I’m going to take a long break. I don’t care for Living Story Events and I don’t like the trend of making Champions harder with less loot. I’ll wait for an expansion pack with new character classes and new map areas to explore. I also don’t like the gimmick bosses and want some randomness to bosses/dungeons (random paths, random bosses, random hidden locations). A big weak point for Living Story Events is no one does them after the first week because a lot of timed/dated crap and a lot of the events don’t scale to the smaller number of players trying to do them after the first week.
I took a couple of weeks off, came back only to find events running, that can’t be completed. I’m 8 of 13 and can’t complete it.
- No Zergs, can’t complete parts of this Event without a Zerg because Anet still can’t design events that scale to the number of players doing the event.
- Time Achievements, why do this?
If you don’t do an event in the first week or miss a time achievement you can’t finish the events because players move on after the first week. Why design events like this, why?
This event only goes to show the 2-week content is total crap and how poorly designed these events have become!
Issues with living content:
- Events don’t scale to the number of players playing the event, the second week of a event some content can’t be completed because most players have already moved on.
This also leads to burn out, because you must do the event when it comes out or risk not being able to finish it.
- Time limited achievements (events that only last one or two days), miss them and your screwed, you may not be able to complete the Living World Event.
- Doesn’t really add much, once a Living World Event ends, it really didn’t add much of anything to game.
- Too much content hidden by Living World Events (home nodes, crafting, etc.) Didn’t do the event tough, your out of luck!
Great, just what I’ve been looking for!
Thanks for confirming! That makes this node just about worthless in my view, too bad, it adds nothing.
Temp-Content = Temp players
Long Term Content = Long Term Players
Let’s hope Anet figures this out, soon!
It says: It can be used to obtain a skill point and to charge Quartz Crystals once per day.
That imply’s you can mine Skill Points of 1 per day!!
So you mine skill points now?
Release Notes:
Finishing the Tower of Nightmares meta-achievement will reward the player with a personal Krait Obelisk Shard, a place of power for their home instance. It can be used to obtain a skill point and to charge Quartz Crystals once per day.
After a week off (no gameplay), I’ve concluded temp content (Living World) Does Not Equal long term player base. I’m looking for more than some 2 week event.
Sorry to say but, until there is some new level 80 + content (new areas, races, professions, etc.) I’m done with Guild Wars 2, everything seems to have that “been there done that” flavor to it. Tired of the Living World farming events and don’t like changes to WvW, or the do it again crafting resets.
Bye
You don’t get a chest when the event fails, I saw this for the first time this week myself.
I was guesting on another server an did a jumping puzzle, when I got to the chest at the end, it was already open, no reward and didn’t receive any credit for my monthly Puzzle achievement, I haven’t done this puzzle in months. Then I logged out and back into my home server, I was able to opened the chest, got my reward and got the achievement. I thought only WvW and resources nodes were effected when guesting on other servers?
The items do not show SOUL BOUND or ACCOUNT BOUND, the items show soul bound on use, they have never been used!!! So why can’t I sell them?
I’m trying to sell 2 Amulets, items are NOT Soul Bound or Account Bound, they will not show up in the sell windows of the Trading Post.
- Berserker’s Amulet of the Sky
- Shaman’s Amulet of the Valkyrie
What’s the point of crafting if you can’t sell stuff, I just don’t get it?
I’m surprised no one else as run into this problem?
There’s a bug when crafting Glob of Elder Spirit & Lump of Mithirilium. When crafting these items, you have two selections Craft & Craft All, if you have Craft All 5 and you select to only craft 3 items, crafting will end after crafting 1 item and then becomes time locked, please fix!
I use Mystic Forge salvage kits and get Ecto’s 8-9/10 times. I normally get 1 T6 mat, 1 Rune/Sigil, and 1 Ecto.
I’ve seen a lot of failed events lately, I go to an event and there’s no one there, some events won’t spawn if there aren’t enough players doing the per-event. The LFG is only good for finding people to do a future event but doesn’t tell you if anyone is doing a current event. Looking for some way to find out if there are players doing a current event before I go there.
So far the living world content is very short and doesn’t add very much.
They are just making existing content harder & take more time, how is that fun or expanding the game? I just don’t see new level 80 areas, deeper content, new classes and expanded role-playing, new skills, etc. without an expansion. The problem I’ll bet is most of the player base is already at level 80 and they are running out of things to do.
The same old harder bosses and longer grinds are just getting boring, need new areas and level 80(+) content soon.
Better yet, what effect did the following have on players and/or living world?
- Ellen Kiel wins the election
- Why did Tequatl get stronger even though Zhaitan is dead?
- What is Scarlet’s motive?
WE DON’T KNOW or do we even care, it’s just another 2 week event!
Another reason why the game needs new longer deeper content!
Yes, a ping indicator would be a nice addition.
The updates now are so buggy, the game’s not worth playing on patch day!
I want deeper long term content, not a reward for a to-do-list.
Just look at http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dragonite_Ore
15-25 Ore
Claw of Jormag
Inquest Golem Mark II
Tequatl the Sunless
The Shatterer
Champion Drakin Cinderspire
Just doing Shatterer and Mark II Golem you can get 40-50 Ore per day on one character, so what’s the issue?
