Here is my mix of sylvari tier 1+3 and the nightmare cowl with my bifrost in celestial.
I think OP is talking about the 2x longer load times since 8/6 patch.
They can never nerf water attunement because the ele forum will just QQ up some more.
Rumor has it 80s are best but the chances are so low that 3x 75 + exotics can also net you a precursor aswell
I’ve heard that as long as the total is 200+stone it works.
Load times have doubled for me, it sucks reading a champion has spawned over map chat and waypointing only to miss out because it took so long when that never happened to me before the patch(I even use a SSD).
I’m not sure the cost of crafting is worth it for the sort of recreational uses you mentioned…although I know there are people who make a lot more money than I do. In terms of the Mesmer portal though those are some of the fun uses for it – it’s a skill that rewards creativity and its a lot of fun to play around with.
In terms of the new item, I too am having trouble seeing a point to it. Unless you have money just burning a hole in your pocket, I don’t think it serves a purpose.
Just FYI, it does drop pre-crafted(got one last night) but its account bound. I agree that the recipe is too expensive for the utility.
All this work went into a new reward gating system to avoid nerfing CoFp1.
Interesting observation, I think that T5 must have dropped about 25% across the board since they dumped truckloads of mystic forge stones onto the public via AP rewards and people only need 3 weapons to scratch their lotto ticket instead of 4. What are your theories as to why its happening?
It basically only affects soothing mist(and other 5 point traits but they are all bad).
What it should do is boost the arcane 5 point trait to a few more seconds of fury.
There should be a mystic forge recipe to upgrade them to permanent finishers. I paid for one too but forgot about it until this new hero menu panel didn’t list it.
AC is clearly .5g above the others because the devs wanted to encourage us to run the new reworked dungeon that turned out to be a disaster. Tssk
That makes a lot of sense. Maybe they’ll increase the others if/when they get their reworks.
Monsoon is just storm/tsunami made into a staff, I hope that means they’ll make meteorlogicus into a staff some day. Its ugly as a staff though.
Tornado should have been a summon instead of a transformation.
Are we sure these are hard-coded values and not tied to anything in particular like completing objectives?
The moral of the story is don’t vote.
Kiel is a kitten fried piece of kitten. She can shove those kitten fake kitten ballots up her kitten’s kitten kitten.
Getting a rifle from a dungeon and finding a nice perch in Lion’s Arch. There’s gonna be another council seat opening REAL soon.
Gonna get some more barbaric karma.
Whispers agents moving in on your location in 3…2..
My favorite thing about ele under water is the speed of the auto attacks is so insanely high that the signet heal can keep you alive in full glass very easily. I especially loved the most recent buff to air#1&2, its so easy to hit for a few thousand per second but you have to be up close which can be tricky. I do hate that most of the earth and fire skills are useless and that water 5 is very hit or miss in terms of effectiveness.
They need to add exotic breathers with the 500 crafting or by some new karma vendors though, I hate adding superior runes to masterwork gear and that there is only one stat type at 80, not to mention lack of skins. It makes it feel unfinished, but i’m hopeful.
All of the skins in this game look terrible imo, but there is one that sticks out. The Abyssal Scepter looks really good.
I’d use abyssal scepter but there isn’t a matching dagger and i’d prefer to match. There are lots of nice scepter and focus skins to choose from but the daggers don’t always match up asthetically.
Pvp is where they get their pve balance ideas so naturally they have to offer compensation /s
They needed enough time to schedule the funeral and wake for CoF p1.
Level 50-70 is the slow(least fun) range in the game. If you just want to blow through a couple of cheap crafting professions like cooking/jeweler I’d wait until then.
On the other hand, if you play through those levels you can make some decent money selling the dropped materials and salvaged green/blue/white gear that drops because practically noone actually plays those levels.
The best way to level a necro would probably be wvw with the zerg and spamming staff.
I just earned my 6,000th achievement point today and put the skin on one of my non-cultural mixed sets. Colors are celestial, frost, mithril, and silver on winged and embroidered and radiant skins.
I bet the values for dungeon rewards will be flexible for the first few months. They probably datamined completion times and averaged it to come up with the initial august 6 patch values but as the community adjusts to the new method of reward new things will likely be farmed(and in different ways) and have to be adjusted.
I have a valk/beryl set, it sits between pvt and berserker. I don’t think its worth the money tbh, I only break it out when the game is laggy and I dont want to get instagibbed in zerk. If you want to move away from pvt though it could be a nice zerker’s training bra.
Yeah, you can. Its called turn off auto target (which is never good EVER to have anyway) and de-target your opponent. This is EXACTLY what ive been telling people like you to do. If it was implemented, you would then have the option to do either! Instead of being forced to line it up.
Youre right to an extent. D/d doesnt really need a target for any skill except RTL and earth1&3 but what about something like electric discharge(15th air trait)? Forcing everyone to un-target and then re-aquire for the same function that has worked fine since launch is a bad idea that would alienate more people than you think.
Honestly though, I bet this never happens because the fire trail would be an irregular shape and the devs don’t want to design it to render on the fly.
This dungeon update is enough motivation for me to go for the last 1-2 paths I still need from a couple dungeons for the dungeon master title. I used to farm CoF when ecto was more valuable and I was still crafting my 1st legendary but the thought of grouping wiith randoms is a deterrent without an ingame tool or having a decent guild.
I know instantly they were in a heated moment and were holding down the SHIFT key while trying to mouse click on their ability.
Thats not always true. Holding down control toggles showing enemy/object names. Sometimes it helps when scanning the horizon to find a mining node or npc or whatever.
I play because its a great time waster. Sometimes thats all something has to be.
Be thankful it doesnt, if it followed the target they might treat it like RTL and nerf it into the ground. D/d is about pbaoe anyway, it doesnt need this as a gap closer as much as an area control tool. I’d actually like if RTL was more like it.
Actually, right now on these forums, it’s hip for people to bash the 0/10/0/30/30 spec as cookie cutter, unoriginal, and weak (just as a warning). Also, for whatever reason, people seem to move away from it to something else once they’ve played it a ton. I’m not sure why. It’s still very strong. My friends in T1 still use 30 Arcana and 30 Water for Support Eles in WvW.
Fresh air is more fun and less predictable, plus Anet has been balancing around boon removal a lot lately as well as specifically targetting this build for nerfs. At least give the guy a little background before you send him farming for a build most of the community is moving away from.
Same goes for light armor males, all we have are ballroom gowns and one pair of puffy genie pants or skinny jeans.
Conjure builds can stay in one conjure if traited and given the right circumstances but thats as close as youre going to get to a sustainable mono-type setup.
Next closest would probably be a fresh air build but its still better if you swap around.
Step 1: Activate Arcane Power.
Step 2: Cast Churning Earth.
Doesn’t churning earth cast little mini cripples that would eat up your arcane power crits?
I’m attached to my character’s voice most of all. When I play alts and someone else uses my main’s voice I almost have to re-orient myself because I associate that voice with a completely different playstyle. I tend to play alts with the sound off now.
Sorry I cant reveal certain secrets and tricks but i will say that if u search some of my old posts i have revealed a select few.
Its best not to look for a rotation but instead to just understand what skills are best at and be aware of your cooldowns between attunements. People figured out how best to shut down d/d ele because they all use the same rotation. I don’t even always go for combo field→finisher because its very predictable, luckily s/d has some instant hits that aren’t telegraphed at all.
Selling both is probably enough to buy most of your twilight, congrats.
I might have to try this with all those useless stones lying in my bank, well over 100 iirc.
I’m pretty philanthropic with my gold and I hand 1g to new players in Queensdale every now and then.
But I absolutely do not hand out gold to anyone who asks or anyone who becomes greedy and asks for more. I find those types of people repulsive.
I left my last guild because as soon as I finished my legendary I got daily requests for my loot because I didn’t “need” it. Nobody donated anything to me but suddenly I’m supposed to bankroll you? gtfo
I also don’t give to charity irl anymore unless its anonymous. I hate getting reminders to donate in the mail.
Light armor is in a really bad spot in this game, Anet assumes wearing stylish Prada pants and Gucci top is considered to be a defensive clothing in combat. IMO I feel like scholar professions are trying to model for like a clothing company instead actually wearing something useful and fitting for battle.
But in the end it really is my fault for picking a “light clothes profession”, I should have known they would make it all " America’s Next Top Model Armor (clothes)"
This is why my light armor users are sylvari. Cultural leaves>90% of our available skins.
Just like CoH, it’s going to be ‘build’ related how involved your combat will be. There were plenty of builds in the city that amounted to set-and-forget toggles and then click your 1-4 attacks and just maneuver around until everything is bundled up for AoEs.
Those set and forget builds in coh were just power builds that lazy people played so they could play one handed and still pull their weight. If played actively you could solo group content that could wipe 10+ people in average builds. Thats a sign of poor balance, imo.
There are a couple of classes with that kind of power here but there really isn’t anything at stake letting one class excel at anything outside of pvp because loot/rng is so bad and nothing is rewarding anyway. OP probably plays an auto-attack spamming bow ranger or something because he isnt saying what he plays.
finally, for long run player retention, it would be a good idea to look up those old coh build planners and start developing accordingly.
gw2skills.net/editor is better than mid’s tool because its browser based, I don’t get how you can think coh’s combat was more complex than this game unless you never played some of the clearly OP builds that game had. I had a couple of perma-doms and my favorite was plant/psy with his 1 button cc that locked down entire spawns indefinitely, was cc proof, had capped regen and defense, and could clear huge spawns with just a couple attacks.
What class do you play in this game that has you seeing the combat kitten simplistic?
This is why I don’t buy keys. Why the F would anyone pay real cash for a small chance of maybe getting something shiny? I just can’t figure out the thought process behind that.
How about paying cash to support the MMO you like? Granted I’m not saying everyone should chuck 60 bucks on RNG, but 10 bucks a month or something doesn’t seem so bad to me.
I’d rather spend it on “sure thing” like the infinite tools or similar and not RNG, though.
Anet is supported as soon as you buy the gems, the problem is when they give you practically nothing back for those gems. If I liked this set of skins i’d tap into my cash purchased 2400 gems(currently) but with bad rng and me not asthetically liking them i’m going to sit this patch out. Hopefully they put out a perma mining tool triple pack or some nice skins for direct purchase next time.
Cast Phoenix just behind your target to get 3 hits out of it.
You can use glyph of renewal in fire pre-emptively even without a target and resurrect yourself if you go down in the buff period.
Fast cast ground targetting is your friend, also you should bind keys so that it isnt a nuisance to activate with just the keyboard.
The worst part of it is the horrible scaling means 80s still 1-shot everything making it difficult for low levels to get their tag in, especially if the lowbies are inexperienced.
IMO, 80s should do equal level damage or slightly less to correct level characters because with all their traits they’re still going to mow down everything before anyone else can get a hit in.
gift of fortune :/.. i have 130 bloods 52 bones 33 claws 66 dust 40 fangs 62 scales 10 totem and 24 sacs
You could instantly get ~150 more T6 from your laurels.
As long as we’re talking anime, I want this from avatar: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0ZseE6IWFQc/UFT9Qpr1YYI/AAAAAAAAAEw/6qdvaSDhpus/s320/avatar+state.jpg
Tax evasion ticket.
Allows you to list and sell an item on the BLTC and not be charged gold for any part of the transaction.
My guess is that T7 will probably require a combination of t1 to t6 mats along with ectos of course.
This makes the most sense when you consider the new temporary vendors exchanging lower tier mats for zephyr boxes. They wanted to burn up some of the backlog so that crafting would not be too easy and ensure people played in lower tier areas to gather those mats or pay a decent price for them on the TP.
The real question is why they were so valued to begin with when crafting them was time gated and eventually just playing would get you most of them. The dev blog post probably killed any chance these things had at being valuable.
