So tired of people who play classes that are tailored to other playstyles complaining about class they don’t play and classes that are totally different from their own. When I play warrior, I never use frenzy. I mainly use HB when I suicide for my team into a point and get 13 stacks of might + HB in the middle of it and I can usually get all of them down to low health and easily finishable. I have a lot more fun with whirlwind and trail of sword or whatever it is.
HB is so easy to avoid because the person gets rooted, so all u have to do is step away and you’re fine. All of the immos stuns etc that warriors have are pretty annoying in combination with HB, but it comes with the class.
Keep in mind that LoL is a game focused 100% on PvP, and that is the only aspect to it. When RIOT sees a problem, it’s their sole job to fix it. Guild Wars 2 has dozens of other aspects that have priority over PvP because the majority of players do PvE (when I say PvP I refer to sPvP).
There needs to be a way to commit suicide. I ‘return to the mists’ every time I get downed because I have an aneurism if I have to watch my character get stomped.

Seems a lot of servers dislike IoJ and purposefully team on them. So glad I got off that server. While the community is great, we fight trashbag loser baddies week after week and it isn’t fun. Crystal Desert got kittenon in their last match, they shouldn’t be in first place.
This cycle is gonna continue forever. JQ will fall next, as all the spastics transferred there when they started winning. Servers will only ever really do well with huge alliances which JQ doesn’t have. It’s all bad pugs.
I transfered to HoD mainly because heart of the mists wasn’t a wasteland, don’t really care for WvW if nobody else does.
Furthermore, WvW is broken atm anyway. The three orb bonus with +150 stats and 15% health makes baddies hard/er to kill just because their server in general is doing well, this isn’t acceptable. While I’m on HoD I won’t be doing wvw until all these hacking rejects and blatantly horrible features get fixed/worked over.
No thanks. Think about Halo: Reach’s ranking system. It is a system that rewards you with EXP regardless of whether you won or not, so a terrible person who plays a lot can be the highest rank.
There SHOULD be some kind of leaderboard feature however, where you are ranked based on a calculation of like, your kills, deaths, glory rank, and some other unknown variables.
I do this all the time and frankly I will never stop until it’s patched. I have zero problem dying in large zerg fights but on the rare occasion a person and I are fighting 1v1 and someone else comes along and I get downed due to having just used a heal or whatever, I’ll ALT+F4 even BEFORE I get downed. In sPvP I’m to the point where dying in general is just unacceptable and I return to the mists 99% of the time when I’m downed before I can get stomped. If there was no downed state and you didn’t have to sit there like an idiot and watch your character get stomped I would have absolutely n0 problem with dying and would never quit.

ET is a trash server tho and filled with scum guilds like RUIN who exploit/hack, why would anyone want to join?
I almost never finish people off when they’re downed. It’s a lot easier to keep fighting/doing other stuff and throwing down an AoE so their heal gets interrupted because downed state attacks are never going to do as much damage as regular attacks. So, the enemy team is down one person and doesn’t waste our time trying to stomp. Win-win. Only class I ever bother stomping are classes with interrupts because an easy blind takes care of it.
People need to be careful what they wish for.. All these people calling for nerfs on classes don’t understand what nerf actually means. I can tell the way arenanet handles things in terms of class “balance” that things will hit the fan very quickly. So many people cried for mesmer nerfs and so they did it, and this is the result.
Enjoy swimming and getting ‘sunk’ every 5 seconds by all the mobs in the water
Also seems like orr mobs have ridiculous follow distance.. which is annoying
Because there’s no ‘follow’ mechanic. I love running around with people and killing stuff but since I have to stop to type (inb4 auto-walk), it isn’t convenient to talk/reply to people.
Appreciated. However, it took me about 3 minutes to write a script that goes through all servers and can change the scores to complete garbage/whatever I want. I would advise putting a Captcha on the form that makes changes to the scores to protect it from real bots.

I find this whole nightcapping ordeal extremely hilarious. People seem to only care about nightcapping when it happens to them. Anyone ever think that the way one server comes to own everything when WvW resets (new match) is due to nightcapping? Winning server isn’t complaining then. When have u ever heard someone say, “wow, all this dominating sure sux!”
Nightcapping needs to remain as is. It should even stop being given the title nightcapping. It’s like people sit and complain about it because they need a reason for why they cant capture all points and then hold them forever. How is that even fair?

They should make server transfers to high ranking servers cost money, while transfers to low ranking/mid-low pop servers (kn bp dr etc) are free.

You know there is a difference between Ferguson’s Crossing and Caulle’s Crossing right? Caulle’s is the new server and Ferguson’s has been here for a while or even from the beginning. Caulle’s has a low pop rating because its new. Your post doesn’t make any sense at all.. You begin speaking of Caulle’s but then start talking about Ferguson’s.
I don’t see how anyone is meant to take what GaileGray said seriously. No disrespect, but think of this way. Gold that is obtained from buying gems and converting to gold materializes that gold out of thin air and doesn’t allow the gold to come into the game naturally and over time, as it would if you spent an hour or two farming to get 1G.
On the actual subject of this thread: People buy gold from gold sellers and not ArenaNet because it’s cheaper, obviously. People will always buy gold due to how this game is set up. There are diminishing returns on every activity in the game, which makes earning gold in any way completely unreliable. If this problem (DR) didn’t exist, then people wouldn’t be AS tempted or pressed to buy gold. It would still happen, but not nearly as much. People buy gold because the actions we do in game don’t make us feel like we are accomplishing anything due to diminishing returns. Those who say they haven’t hit it are liars and aren’t helping the problem at all.
If gold buyers/sellers have run so rampant that threads need to be created about it, then DR as a solution to botting/gold sellers isn’t working and is only punishing normal players. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with admitting that something isn’t working. We as a player base are obviously going to give ArenaNet time to work out a better solution.
Being an administrator on another game and my main role being dealing with bots, you have to get creative in how you deal with them. Stopping botting software is 100% impossible, just like saying a certain security measure is 100% uncrackable. People will ALWAYS find a way to get around it. The only way to remove them from the game is to ban them (botters).
My favorite thing to do as a thief is when I down someone and I’m about to stomp them, I activate the running speed signet and it blinds them so their bullkitten knockbacks and interrupts miss.
Ya, immobilize is way OP. Stun/daze aren’t bad at all even WITHOUT stun breaks cause they never last that long. I’ve been immo like 6-8 seconds by a warrior and was basically had no choice but to sit there and die. Whenever I get immo I quit the match. Have no problem with dying but not if I can’t even defend myself.
The point is, even with stun breakers there’s no stopping them from immobilizing you again. Even in RuneScape if you stop someone from moving and try to do it again right after it says they’re immune to it for like 2-3 seconds.

I was going to say the opposite, every pvp instance we did SoS has run out or refused to help. I’ve seen 30 of them wipe on melandru because they get turned into animals and dps him. The feeling around most of kaineg is we wish they would just leave along with some of the other guilds and let us truly start fresh with committed guilds.
Ya, SoS has a lot of members but a lot of them are only on Kaineng so they can do karma train. I like Kaineng as a server but when I transfered to it I found it was hard to really participate because people had their own cliques already and no guilds seemed interested in letting me join lol
The activity in Kaineng is largely due to that Taiwanese guild SoS and their other guild shield of sos. When I was on kaineng we karma trained with like 40 people for 6-7 hours lol

Don’t think you’ll ever get a 1v1 fight, bads will be bads.
Running from a group of people when you are short 1 or 2 makes you an easy target. If you stay and fight and actually coordinate (even with randoms) you’re going to crush them. Most people who WvW expect no competition/opposition in small group run-ins or even 1v1s and almost always rely on people running away in order to just sit there and bash on them as they run.
This week so far has me a little sad in a way..the weekend started off with some amazing three way carnage and now it has devolved into this. I really don’t get why people just give up so easily.
Oh well.. Well done ET as you have some great fighters, teams and guilds and are able to motivate people well at all times. Your definitely tier 1 quality and I hope all of us at IoJ can match you in the future…
IoJ is basically doomed to fight these ET scumbags for the rest of eternity given the failure ranking system. After beating IoJ, ET will probably go up in rank and have to fight HoD or SBI/JQ in which case they’ll get kitten on, and then move back down and whaddaya know, get paired against IoJ again.
Annoying as kitten, but working as intended. I want to say that it’s hard enough to defend a keep as it is and with this mechanic it is even more so.. but with the ability to put a catapult behind the door and KB any players using a ram.. I lose that argument. However, when the doors are reinforced, you don’t see rams so much as unreachable trebuchets and catapults.
I do think if people are going to stand next to a tower with walls fortified/reinforced or not, they shouldn’t be able to defend themselves as well as they can. The AoE on the walls while defending is completely ridiculous to a point where it’s almost impossible to stand in a place for more than 3 seconds until someone lays down lava font or meteor.
This would be nice, but NO. Just like systems that have been suggested where action would be taken on a player if reported enough times, you CANNOT trust a game full of griefers and emotionally fragile kittenes to do the right thing. This system would be abused to absolutely no end.

Coupled with being able to change to town clothes or log out or whatever before dying to avoid repair costs this is an accident waiting to happen.
However.. there could be a system put in place that would reward you with less and less points each time you killed the same person. A situation where diminishing returns is actually good.

I recently transferred to Kaineng and am having a blast. We are getting our kitten handed to us but it’s actually pretty fun when we can mass up and actually take a bunch of supply camps and towers.
Also at around 11 pm to 8 am pacific time there’s a karma train with a Taiwanese guild named Survivors of Searing/Shield of SoS and we go around on the different borderlands taking supply camps and killing yaks for karma/exp/money. Made like 3g last night and gained 20k karma.
I am hoping more people switch to this server as there are some potential perks that could be great publicity and motivation for other guilds to transfer as well. Being the guild that brings Kaineng out of the gutter and near-last rank could be good for any guild trying to gain more members

To make thief even more hilarious of a class to use in WvW, and all classes alike, do this (and you might as well, because no doubt will they nerf it soon):
Buy dam debris from some foreman in queensdale. It hits for like 3-6k crit and knocks them down for 4 seconds. No cooldown. Only set back is that it takes 3-4 seconds to equip another one and another 1-2 seconds for cast time. This is a good combo to use with it: throw boulder, dancing dagger twice, steal, and a few normal attacks should finish them off.
Tired of the pathetic dimwitted night crew on Isle of Janthir. Was on this server from the beginning but have realized that it is only filled with commanders who only have that rank because they have a lot of gold and not because they know what the kitten they’re doing.
So, are there any US servers that WvW that are actually primarily US timezone?

It isn’t possible to kill that catapult or the 3+ other siege weapons they have up there so even tho we were able to siege that tower from them (the one im standing on), they can just sit up there and camp with siege weapons and destroy the gate while we can’t kill it. We can’t siege that keep that they’re in, so what are we to even do? I don’t think any siege can even reach up there.
Other instances of this happening are the garrisons in the borderlands which is pretty much the same as this. I get the whole home turf thing but that isn’t an advantage, it’s just unfair. Does arena net acknowledge this as an exploit or are they gonna stick to their answer of “all’s fair in love and war” for anything they don’t know how to fix?
Am just waiting for them to nerf thief so I can quit. Nerf means to make something useless. I’m not quitting because I can’t “1 shot” people or “Kill them before they can react” (I’ve never done that, and I barely ever lose a 1v1), but because I’m not going to play a class that sucks in PvE, already has horrible survivability in PvP and PvE, and from the nerf, won’t be able to kill anything. The thief isn’t meant to be a class that spends 20 minutes kiting a class it’s about laying on the conditions/crippling your opponent and killing them before they can escape. If I can’t do this because base damage output (not heartseeker/backstab) is nerfed then there is really no point in playing. We are probably going to get a nerf, at least I hope to heartseeker and backstab because i don’t use them, but I’m not looking forward to it.
Play a thief and have never in my 25 ranks of sPvP or 100+ hours in WvW hit someone for a crit of over 7k yet I still manage to kill every person I fight 1v1 unless it’s a mesmer who actually knows what they’re doing and isn’t playing a mesmer just because it’s mesmer. I have 90% crit damage and my backstab consistently hits 6-7k crits if I’m lucky, so probably doing something wrong.
wats even more annoying is this guilds who rally at the entrance of a borderland and then get wiped 5 minutes later after wasting 30 queue spots while rallying

laffd so hard at this. CD is on the same level that Sea of Sorrows is. You do nothing against ET and attack IoJ because it’s all you can do. You run from supply camp to supply camp playing around the world while we mop the floor with you. Enjoy this loss this week. Eventually you’ll be facing servers like Kaineng and Fergusons Crossing.
Probably both. Both of those servers will do whatever it takes to win.
This basically sums up SoS. They always wait for a server to take a keep/tower and then run in and take it. i.e. server A is about to cap a tower that was reinforced/fortified, server A caps it, SoS runs it and is now able to attack a fully downgraded tower. Truly a pitiful excuse for a server.
