Hopefully not.
The last thing a game needs is 12yo kids spreading the "1v1 me I #rekt you m8" around.
Having separated servers instead of districts like GW is a pain the kitten .
Question: i want to report afkers during the Scarlet hologram fight, which category should I put this under; and can I attach screen shots?
Under the "deal with it" category.
Being away from the keyboard is not against the EULA/CoC, unlike inappropriate reports.

Looks like political intentions. Is this done to annoy conservative people?
Yes! We discussed it with ArenaNet in the Gay Agenda January meeting.
You are looking way too much into it...
Engineers suffer from this as well, my primary ranged damage weapon (grenades) applies conditions. Even though I’m using a power build I suffer from the conditions.
Rifles, how do they work…
Peter The Lost romance DLC is what we need.
I’d pay 15€ for that.

No, how will I make money if i don’t flip? You expect me to join the filthy champ trains?

+1 for F.lux
Set it at 4000K if default is too red and make sure you have GW2 running as a window.
Begs the question how close a game like this should mimic real life, or a real life "economy".
It shouldn’t, anyone that thinks differently should go back to economy 101 and check what the definition and purpose of economics are in the first place.
But the introduction of gems means in-game gold is effectively real world currency and that makes them able to monetize in-game elements without putting a visible pricetag on them.
That’s not a game design decision, it’s a financial one.
(edited by Spiuk.8421)
Anyone who buys almost anything on the TP is buying into the system where it is possible to flip prices etc. There isn’t strictly anything wrong with that - if people genuinely think this is a moral issue, then I hope they also don’t buy anything irl from supermarkets or any store where a third party middle-man is involved in the purchase of the products.
News-flash: Videogames are NOT real life.
In real life you don’t have infinite resources, can’t have infinite supply of everything or complete control over every single economic variable.
When I play games, it’s usually as an escape. I like to imagine that I’m the perfectly healthy Commander Shepard, or some outrageously good looking Final Fantasy character on a quest to save the world with magic. Games take me out of my situation and, for a little while, allow me to be someone else. Maybe this is why I play a hyper-mobile d/d Elementalist.
Are you listening game developers? THAT is what great videogames are really about.
They are not gambling machines, market simulators or movies, please remember that.
(edited by Spiuk.8421)
And this is why you don’t put market economies in videogames.
Maybe I’m the only one that sees them as an escape from reality and source of fun, I don’t see how putting the most kittenty aspect of real life (capitalism sucks, even if we don’t have anything better) makes your game any better, especially when it has no purpose or sense (resources are not limited and supply can be infinite if you want it to be).
But again, making a copypasta of the generic EQ/WoW formula is way easier and more financially safe than designing great games.

This is not Market Simulator 2014, deal with it.

Mind that I have a week off so i can play quite a bit, but still... great XP.
Glad that I saved all those XP boosters.
Does anyone know why game developers don’t just use H.264 for cutscenes? I can see why console games use Bink (extremely limited space and RAM) but for a PC only game it seems like an awful choice...
A good looking 2 minutes 1080p@30fps video is pretty small if you encode it properly.

Now the market is flooded and the price is under a gold on th TP.
It’s ridiculous.
And what’s the problem with that?
24h UTC is the international standard for time in both scientific and non-scientific uses, that’s not really up for debate, it’s a fact.
I can’t think of a reason not to use it, unless most of your audience lives in Washington and California and it’s pretty safe to assume that is not the case.
what about using GMT, a more global and known time scale.
For conventional uses GMT and UTC are roughly the same.
Meanwhile just set another clock...

What’s the point of having things in the game that people 99,9% of the people won’t be able to enjoy? It’s completely ilogical and goes directly against the whole point of Guild Wars 2 and every videogame ever created, having fun experience.
Everything should be accessible to all players through reasonable mechanics/systems.

Tomes of Knowledge, because Anet won’t let me buy a lvl 80 one.
Scarlet is going to be the new Komir.
She is going to screw things, become good, tell us what to do and finally steal our deeds and become a new pale tree. Just you wait -_-
Look, the airship even has McDonald’s.
U jelly terrace?
This game is almost entirely defense, with offense only throw in in as an aside
Simple fact, look at every overpowered build and strategy we have had since launch, what do they all have in common? Was the healing guardian at launch offense based? How about the cantrip DD bunker ele? The clone/confusion spam memser? Stealth/evade spam thieves? The hambow/stance warriors? Every single one based on their method of preventing, rather than dealing, damage. Low investment, high uptime defensive mechanics (the more passive the better) rule this game with an iron fist.
Why do you think there isn’t a PvP build worth its salt right now that doesn’t give ridiculous uptime on vigor or tons of endurance regen? Why is the warrior the preffered zerker dungeon runner when it is proven that other classes can pull more DPS?
Because those vigor traits are a tiny investment for a ridiculous defensive uptime. The warrior has the perfect storm of passive affects with little to no investment; high health and armor, the most passive healing, the best passive condi-cleanse.
Please tell us more about those amazing defensive builds for PvE.
That was a fast Godwin.
In most of the overflows I’ve been in so far, most people are unwilling to cooperate. T_T
That’s weird cause I just went through an overflow that finished 1200.
Why are overflows like third world countries? The people in the overflows are all the same people who are in the main servers, they’re just from all of the main servers instead of just one. They all want to complete the event with the most reward just like everyone else.
Overflows aren’t the rejects of the game, they’re just the people who weren’t quite fast enough to get into their main server
Overflows are often better than servers because it’s easier to taxi organized people in them.
Everyone knows thief is the best PvE class because dredge fractal.
Guardian is a close second because lolwaveofwrath is king @ Zerg Wars 2.

Clicking is the superior form of key input.
[War] (and probably [MEDx] in US) is consistently hitting 1200+ in 3 overflows now, and people seem to be more interested... yesterday the response to "We’ll taxi people in here to go for the citizens threshold" was more or less "kitten you I want to lolzerg" while now they are actually willing to cooperate (even commanders are tagging off).
Great change Anet, but your should’ve seen it coming.

I’ve guested all servers and no disrespect to any other server, but Seafarer’s Rest is by far the friendliest server out of all EU servers when it comes to trying to have a friendly conversation in map chat.
Thank you Horatio.
I agree, it’s really needed. Whether you play elementalist or not, it doesn’t give the player time to react until they realize they’re being hit by 5k~15k Metoeor Shower crits in pvp/wvw.
1) Don’t zerg (in WvW).
2) 3,5s of casting animation, interruptable and punish-able (in pvp).Anything else you’d like to know?

Guild Wars 2: Wrath of the Pale Tree
Guild Wars 2: Catacombs
Guild Wars 2: Mists of Cantha
Guild Wars 2: Warlords of Elona
Mists of Cantha is when we’ll finally get Tengu, or KungkittenPanda’s, but either way its win, am I right?
If this is not for you, you can always play classics like Guild Wars: Charr & Humans
I’m more of a Defense of The Guilds guy.
No thank you, don’t ruin the only legendary that doesn’t look ridiculously gross.
I don’t see why people expect so much from Baby’s First MMO. It’s meant to be a simple, casual-friendly game that you get to play for free. All the extra stuff you’re asking for may have been possible to finance with a cash shop years ago but perhaps it’s no longer true in 2014.
They can’t win. Every time they put something in the gem shop, people cry, but how else are they supposed to pay for development?
They could, I don’t know, charge a box price for any expansions. But maybe I’m asking too much, not like Anet has ever done that before or anything.
This is not a sequel to GW1. It’s a game in its own right and the devs have decided to go with Living Story, and frankly most people shouldn’t be complaining because they don’t buy much, if anything, from the cash shop.
And I decided that I won’t do microtransactions in paid games because the prospect of all gaming becoming smartphone rubbish is not something I’m interested in, not to mention the stupid $/€ conversion (or more precisely, the lack of).
I’d be happy to preorder all their full price expansions though.
I have a feeling you’ll be waiting a long time for those expansions.
And they’ll be waiting a long time for my money, I’m happy to play that huge PS2 backlog in the meantime.

Guild Wars 2 butchering the Guild Wars lore? You are like more than a year late mate.
Were you wearing full berserker ascended armor? If not there is your problem
Getting the spinal blades to ascended takes almost 1000 shards, I think that’s enough of a sink!
Not everyone wants to ride the gear threadmill.
You don’t need Ascended armor. The stat increase over Exotics is minor. So if you’ve given up on getting these, you can still play the game as normal.
le master trole 2014
GW2 is way bigger than Prophecies was at release.
Interestingly people like to throw around tons of numbers
Those are called facts, it’s what people tend to use in arguments
but they don’t like to throw number of professions and number of races.
gw1 had more professions… not at release no, but gw2 is not at release, it’s been out for over a year
They also don’t like to talk about crafting.
Because it’s boring as kitten
GW1 added very few in terms of free content.
And that’s why the content added in gw1 vastly superior. Free =/= better
People just don’t understand that GW1 basically had a tiny Live Team while GW2 has a decently sized live team.
Indeed, gw2 has a lot more developers working on it. So why are we getting less?Guild Wars 2 at release has indeed more content than Guild Wars 1 at release. But in the end, gw1 got tons more content and guild wars 2 is not at release anymore.
Guild wars 2 was bigger than guild wars 1 after all it’s updates.
You are comparing GW2 to GW Prophecies right? I would hope so.
Guild wars 2 to all of gw1.

I am worried that this is going to make it really hard to compete as a valkyrie WvW thief (D/D).
As of now without stacks I am B/S Veteran Guards (the ones that are sentries) for about 7.7k with the really expensive +10% crit damage food (10/30/30/0/0). I have all ascended armor (just completed) and weapons – Valk/Zerker combo armor and Zerker trinkets. It took me a real long time to grind all this.
I get that they said overall 10% damage reduction, but you know you can’t trust ANet – if 10% is the average then it could be worse for some users. If I start B/S those same guards for like 5-6k (obviously this used as a control for PCs) it’s going to make it very hard to win fights (for me) against tanky chars.
I wouldn’t even mind the change if I hadn’t invested so much time into the gear. If it really becomes bad for Hidden Killer gear I hope they let us do a one time swap and the swap into Dire gear or something and go back to P/D.
I just don’t want to have to re-grind the armor and weps – change I am relaxed about
Welcome to Gear Wars 2.
