This wont help people who have less than 500 gold get there stuff back or whatever if they get hacked..i mean its nice of course, but still for those that dont have anywhere near that limit..
Use better passwords. Use better email management/security. Don’t share your passwords with guildmates or siggy others.
And most important; stop calling it “hacked”. No one is compromising the Anet computers via a flaw in their security protocols. Accounts are compromised using the very adequate security in place by taking advantage of the lack of common sense people use when setting up and managing their accounts/passwords.
I don’t see how upping the base run speed by 25% is gamebreaking, I just think the current speed feels too slow.
I suspect you don’t PvP very much, if at all.
Text Book entitlement. Don’t adapt, just design the game around me.
Tomes, Personal Story & Crafting shot my alts to 80.
No matter what the title, there will always be people waiting to pick it a part down to the electrons.
I’m conveniently working LS2 in the region on 5 toons. Two Moas with one stone. ^^
Cars or not we have nothing to do and expansion is not coming any time soon. So yeah. We need something.
I think you’re overestimating the “we”. I don’t think as many people as you think have actually completed 100% of the content. Maybe a handful.
Doesn’t really matter who participates. 90% will only be mapping out the new content in order to get an upper hand on launch day.
Its the same story for any expansion in any game made over the past 20+ years.
A handful of players will actually report issues. The rest will be documenting every crevice for their own purposes.
Please producer sir, Im quite interested in how it is there at anet, are the staff competitive? Are there like special staff only guilds, tournaments, do you sometimes play at the office?
Fill out an application, go to an interview, land a job and find out for yourself.
Most companies have a strict compliance policy. Beg more though.. its fun to watch.
The people who have tons of gold should have the opportunity to flaunt it.
They can. Using the Gem Exchange they can purchase anything and everything that is available in the gem store.

This is exactly why login rewards were a terrible idea. Basically richer people can camp multiple accounts and mess up the market.
Removing monthlies in favor of something that takes no skills and can be exploited was a huge mistake by Anet.
Get a better job?
Seriously, you do realize that gem & account sales is the primary revenue for the game, right? Perhaps they should make it free and discard any future content additions?
Faster Travel: Is running between way points really that painful? Its not like you have to run across an entire zone.
Aesthetics: Longer load times for people on slower computers/Internet connections. I already feel sorry for people who have to wait 10 minutes when they arrive at the Ministers way point.
There’s no point to continue beating this dead mount. Of course, that won’t stop anybody who wants to play WoW in Tyria from posting again tomorrow in a new thread. :P
I’m just saying you have issues with being pure melee in several aspects of the game, with many champions or situations clearly benefitting ranged, and none really benefitting melee in a comparable manner.
Champions and Bosses were not designed to be solo’d. So there is your solution for additional ranged damage while you melee. Make a few friends.
I have made many friends in many games over the years. I like to stay consistent so those acquaintances can easily spot me on a forum.
I’ve bumped in to people I played UO with back in the 90’s, as well as others from EQ2 and SWtOR.
I think its important to think carefully about a Display Name on a forum based on whether you do or don’t want to be recognized.
2000 gems is already $25 dollars…. and you think that isn’t expensive enough…. You are the reason pay to win games with $60 mounts exist.
Yes. Because paying a subscription every month is a much better revenue stream. Not.
I will no longer play subscription based games. However, I have no problem dropping $200-$500 on micro transactions in games such as this. Its much more rewarding than paying a sub and having everything everybody else has. :P
That’s the beauty of having a modern hdd/ssd. Gone are the days of filling up your clunky seagate with a single game.
I never have less than 6 different games installed so I can bounce back and forth when one of them gets a little stale. Rinse and repeat.
I guess I just never understood the “I have to have a favorite game and play it exclusively forever” logic.
For Ghost Rite, with my ele, I jumped up on the carts and spammed aoe while my conjured elemental ran around taking aggro.
Now, embarrassingly, I’m stuck on The Sound of Psi-Lance as my lvl 80 ele can’t survive even the first wave of dredge.
PvE:

I usually load up on harvesting equipment or crafting bags.
The best class is the one you like playing.
Don’t confuse people with common sense. They don’t want hear it. Simply point them towards the “I Win GW2” button and send them on their way. ^^
I play from a recliner with a trackball on one arm and a razer nostramo on the other, I feel great too.
That’s basically how I roll too. Naga in one hand and Nostromo in the other.. stretched back on the leather recliner. ^^
Welcome all to the new hypersensitive everything offends me Internet.
I love the interwebs. So many armchair: lawyers, game devs, advertising professionals and pyschologists!
I, on the other hand, can’t seem to get people to shut up in chat.
I would think that converting from a WoW experience would be like jumping out of a ’73 VW Bug and in to a brand new Mercedes. XD
I quit due to the game moving in so many wrong directions, Blizzard have $$ in their eyes.
Hate to break it to you, but Anet is not a charity. Game development, expansions, bandwidth and servers cost money. The subscription-free model is wonderful, Yes. I wish all games would finally get on board. But the game can’t survive alone on everybody’s one time initial purchase of the core game or the upcoming expansion.
With that said.. welcome to GW2.. glad you are having fun. Now go buy some gems!
Now if The Rumour Game was anywhere near as good at The Imitation Game I’d be starting that over and over again.
And the Crying Game?? O.o
The problem that even the POTENTIAL payoff doesnt justify the “buy in” price. It’s roughly 16g for one key, or 125 gems. You should at least have a FAIR chance of getting something of value, rather than getting screwed.
It all depends on your opinion of what’s “valuable”. I pop chests for BL ticket scraps. Buying stuff of the BL Weapon Vendor and then selling on the TP produces far more gold than I invested.
Why not level one of each to 80? Professions change over time with tweeks and nerfs. This way you’ll have one of everything in your kitten nal.
Almost every class is desired. But nobody wants poorly played professions. Learn to play your profession and you’ll be welcome every where.
Armor and weapon skins for certain achievements and collections.

I usually show at least 15 mins before the event if I can so that I can join a group at one of the points. Most groups are full when the event starts or is already in progress.
I always get exotics. I only attend once or twice a week. I’ve never gotten a precursor from this event. But the loot is pretty generous in my experience.
A guild name is just as important as a character’s name when it comes to reputation. So it should be very difficult (expensive) to change a guild or character name. Somebody with a poor reputation or a guild for that matter should not be able to done a whole new identity for gold or influence. Both are far too easy to come by. Gems seems to be the only realistic manner in which anybody should be able to change a guild or character name.
I’ve been getting them in just about every jewelry box I purchase from the karma merchant outside of fort trinity.
Exaggeration. Strong in this one it is. – Yoda
GW2 most UNREWARDING GAME EVER.
Relevant to each individual’s goals. Not every player is looking for the best gear. WoW —-→

0 Precursors and I don’t mind
People are peeing all over buying gold/gems on the BLTP. The reality of it is that content, expansions and salaries are paid with the revenue generated from gold/gem/fluff sales.
The $50 or less you might have paid to purchase the game initially is not going to carry the expenses very far.
Welcome!
Take a deep breath and just play. There is no “I Win” button in GW2 unlike other games. There will always be a “favorite of the week” build out there. And there will always be a thousand opinions about how you should progress through the game.
I play all the races and all the classes with the exception of mesmer and necro. Not that I don’t like them. I just ran out of character slots and I’m struggling to catch up on leveling on my existing toons so I can participate in more living story events.
Enjoy. You start out with 5 character slots.. so start 5 professions and 5 races and roll with all of them.
Fluff mounts don’t count.
I think that people miss a lot of the content by being able to instantly travel to their destination- if everyone was forced to run, think of all the content that would be brought back to life! Think of the possibilities that would open up! Silverwastes is kind of an example of that, and it seems to be working out just fine.
Pffft. People will just Death-Taxi their way across the maps if they can’t waypoint their way there.
Its also 99% likely that there is a Guild Wars 3 in production as we speak
Orly?
I have to concur that the Warrior is probably the best profession for a more button-mashing-free dungeon experience.
At my age, I’m not all that keyboard, mouse agile either. However, I use a Razer Nostromo game pad to compensate. I have a Thief (S/D), Elem (D/D), Ranger (GS/SB), Engine (P/P) and a Warrior (GS-Ax/Ax) and the Warrior is by far the easiest to play in dungeons and pve. Ironically, my warrior is also the most difficult to play in PvP as I’m always trying to chase people down. XD
Use your bank. Upgrade your guild bank. Don’t carry what you don’t need.
I don’t see how adding more bags would remedy a hoarding addiction.
Oh and before banning me or deleting my post for criticism, just remember that no good company needs to silence expression of free speach.
Your freedom of speech became null and void as soon as you clicked on “I Agree to the Terms of Service” during forum registration.
It’s really smart how they introduce flying mounts but don’t name them mounts to keep the anti-mound people happy.
What is more interesting for me is that with the introduction of these flying mounts instanced maps would be a problem so that means we might see an end to that.
The only reservation I have is that I hope we will be able to unlock many different looks of these hang gliders all over the world. That’s the type of end-game I like. I don’t hope it’s going to be more cash-shop stuff again you buy or grind gold for. We will see.
Wow. There are a whole lot of assumptions in so few sentences.
Skritt.

Return it. Take a deep breath. And then shop again. This time do a little due diligence. There are much nicer systems out there for much less money.
Let me see a raise of hands. When was the last time anybody stepped foot in to a GameStop?
Why must all this “expansion” talk always revolve around a boxed commodity. Digital content is best delivered digitally. It is very unlikely that there is anybody playing GW2 or any modern MMO for that matter, that still utilizes their slow dial-up connection as an excuse.
Back on topic: Living Story is just as it was billed. There are no conspiracy theories here to be picked apart. IMO, new content should continue to be delivered this way. I spend a lot of $$ money on the BLTP. I am not excited about having to shell out $50-$70 for an expansion. Especially after I’ve already spent 10 x that much on gems and other items. $$ which is being spent on content for people who haven’t spent a penny since their initial purchase of the game.
I’m going to lean towards User Error on this one. Just like any game, if things don’t go your way; then there must be something wrong with the game. Making a mistake yourself? Not even a variable.
Its a good indication.
No its not. And yes, it has been proven many times over the past two decades that only a small majority of players actually read and/or participate on official or fansite forums.
I think somebody needs to spend more time on unbiased sites such as Massively, IGN, Zam or MMORPG.com. A little smack of reality might do ya good.
I’m kind of ocd about my inventory. The top is clear for drops I pick up.
The bottom holds gear that I’m about to level in to, salvage kits and boosters I may need depending on the activity.
