What drops Corrupted lodestones in Southsun?
nothing in southsun.
Currupted Lodestones drop from a sweet spot in Frostgorge (i still do it once in a way for 30 mins while waiting for Jormag to spawn to get the T5 and T6 bone and fang which drop quite graciously)IMO ranger is the best for farming this (so tempted to get my ranger a MF set just for doing this content.)
But the Southsun boost doesn’t work outside the island, does it?
Definitely the Honorless Gladium storyline. The Sorcerous Shaman is ok and the Loyal One is just boring. The Gladium Sire has lots of personality.
Agreed. Honorless Gladium is really well made, I particularly loved the conclusion.
Go for the Dungeon Master title. I started on that when I was bored, and it was quite the fun experience. Also nets you lots of money.
what exactly happend
I think I can answer this one specifically.
From my knowledge, the Charr army went for an invasion of Orr, and in the fear of them conquering it, the Grand Vizier Khilbron sunk the entire thing into the sea, killing both the Charr army and all the people on it. Then, later, Zhaitan awoke and lifted it above again, and that’s why you have all the corals and sea life around the land.
Oh wow, you got out of that one better than I expected.
Very nice replica,
BUT
do you get:
+15% chill duration.
+70 power
+10 Experience from kills irl? Huuuuuuuuuh?
(Oh god that last one is morbid.)
Uh…they grow in a land ruled over and controlled by a megalomaniac undead dragon, who wants to suck all the life from the world, cared for by undead farmers who desire nothing better than to tear your face off and use it for a handkerchief, fertilized by 300 year old cattle and the blood of victims too foolish to leave the place alone.
I’d say they taste like rainbows…yep definitely rainbows.
But they also grow in Frostgorge.
Icebroodberries.
Should allow transmutation along with this. I really don’t want the apothecary stats, although I have it on my human Ele just because it’s so nice :x
So, I was wondering, when Southsun plays it’s part in the living story, all the events regarding the settlers and everything will probably be gone. How is the area going to remain active? Are there gonna be some new events that stay permanently? I would really hate to see this zone abandoned once again after this, I really love it. This came to my mind since a lot of the new content seems to be there only for the duration of the living story.
You may want to change to a whiter shade, as it’s quite warm in Southsun and Spring is here…pick up a copy of Elle or Vogue for your up-to-date fashion tips. Remember, even armor can be stylish. You don’t want to leave an ugly corpse. Especially if the Karka eat you. That leftover shell should be current & chic.
Well, I think a whiter shade would hardly fit my theme. Can’t have characters aimed to resemble evil people prancing around in pretty white armor.
But oh well, as I said, only certain zones do this (pretty awkwardly).
It would appear it is ridiculously gray in certain parts of Southsun. In others it’s normal.
Southsun’s lighting or something, maybe, I will check it out in other areas, it’s just so shining and it doesn’t really look good anymore
I’m using heavy armor, it’s probably because of the huge amounts of shine
It looks completely gray with a shine on highest quality… I hope this is unintentional :S
And for some reason, I just find that idiotic bandit “HNYAH HNYAH HNYAH, YOU’RE KIDDING RIGHT?” hilarious.
She is now in the North Nolan Hatchery.
The rotten armada is what was left of the army of Arah.
Alphard is probably just some pirate that got cought in the cataclysm.. Just south of Arah is a whole bunch of stranded ships, and some pirate ghosts.
Nice to know, but if you’re refering to the Norn ghosts, they weren’t pirates, they were explorers. There’s actually a story quest where you cooperate with them.
From wherever in the game, and you couldn’t find any information on. Maybe someone here can answer it…
I am personally wondering about The Rotten Armada and Alphard, Serpent of the Waves from Arah. Bosses like that, in particular, that are just there but have untold lore behind them.
Pirate leader that got caught in a storm? Sunken ships from ages ago lifted together with Orr?
This guild’s primary focus is dungeon content, although we participate in other activities such as open world events and guild runs (the runs being one of the reasons we are looking for more members). The guild is on Aurora Glade, but I’ll be honest here: this isn’t just another guild that accepts everyone. Being a dungeon focused guild, we ARE looking for competent players (I do not want to sound elitist, I am just stating a reasonable request) that have atleast one level 80 character, can understand the basic mechanics of bosses and similar content in the dungeon, and can listen and follow the courses of action the party has agreed upon.
We currently have about 8-10 members active, not counting the ones that are away for a short while due to commitments and what not. This is also a reason why we’re looking for new members. Should you wish to join our guild, feel free to contact me via mail ingame, or just post here. My account name is the same one I post with.

It was very hard to find armor that I deemed suitable for a Charr thief. Personally I think 90% of medium armor looks silly on Charr, the coats make the look too bulky.
It was also hard to choose a colour that was dark without being black, because I’m tired of seeing 2sneaky4you black armor and white red Altaiir/Ezios.
The armor above me is pretty cool, not enough people use the SE armor. I think the 42k Karma legs would fit your look nicely, with the knee pads they have.
That eye color. What is it?
(will not rate because I already have)
Huh. I’ve never played GW1 but the response to this thread makes me interested…
Quick question Colin – are we still able to kill people doing the puzzle? Or is this gonna be a pve area?
Kill away! It’s still very much a WvW map, just its own map now. It’s all growsed up.
Good cuz JP PvP is by far the sexiest. Maybe SPvP needs a giant Eternal BGJP-like map.
I have a major concern about Southsun though. Will you guys by chance ever add more Turtles and Turtle related events?
There’s a couple positively evil asura mesmers known as the Cheshire Twins that reside in the EB JP. Thank gawd they are on our side <3
Great, kittening Inquest in WvW…
4 others that can figure mechanics out, learn how to react to them, or listen if there’s someone else in the party telling what should be done.
Oh, so it IS bugged. I died a few times frustratingly due to that kind of stuff in the dungeon.
I think this thread is directly relevant to some patch notes
Correct.
Aww, even though this thread would eventually have been created, I feel semi responsible :P
I was always curious as to how do game audio teams get some monster sounds, some seem quite nicely developed too, and since I notice reds communicating with others a lot on this game’s forum, thought I would toss this question here. How did you, for example, get the sounds of Giganticus Lupicus, or similar things? Is there an actual voice actor piled up behind lots of effects and voice alterations?
Oh god that gave me a good laugh
Your ideas are simply amazing. This is all I’ve hoped for should they ever redesign the current fights (which they should, it needs to be more engaging and difficult).
The ONLY problem I see with this is the FPS drops everyone already has in the current fights. It will make it near impossible to react properly for some players. I believe reducing the cap of players in a zone required for overflow servers would help, but from what I’ve heard this is quite taxing for their hardware.
I’m absolutely sure this has been brought up but by golly why is “Adrenaline Rising!” said every time its going down? I know there is another quote concerning adrenaline going up when it really is going down but I can’t think of it this moment.
Thanks and cheers all.
Well, I don’t know which race you are, but for the Charr it’s “Getting pumped!” (the other one you’re refering to)
1. Frostgorge Sound (both in terms of look and quest, DE’s and stuff, this zone wins above all others for me. The one to look at should any more zones come into the game)
2. Plains of Ashford/Queensdale
3. Blazeridge Steppes
4. Mount Maelstrom
5. Iron Marches
This right here is my favorite ever since the day I found it myself.
I remain undecided between Kralkatorrik, Jormag and Primordus. All of the 3 have amazing stuff, I’m just looking forward to the first expansion which will involve one of the 3.
That looks weird as kitten but it’s hilarious at the same time.
Well. If you ARE so intent on doing this, I propose that the golems are shut down like Kudu’s Golems were in the Crucible of Eternity. Rata sum has a Golem Control Nexus somewhere too, doesn’t it?
Then again, you are NOT getting the Flame Legion to cooperate with you.
And while your assault forces are invading Rata Sum, good luck defending Ascalon from ghosts and the Molten Alliance.
But what is your reasoning behind this assault? There is more benefit in cooperation than war
I kind of got into the habit of using punctuation when I’m serious, and just ending sentences without it when I’m joking or at least tongue-in-cheek.
Exactly the same with me. Although a couple of sentences into the conversation I usually realize if it’s just how the person types or if they’re being serious/displaying some emotion with it.
I’m fine with most of the combat animations, excluding very few, like the Leap of Faith. Unlike others, it doesn’t look brutal, just clumsy.
On the other hand, in my opinion, the axe attack chain on the Warrior and Hundred Blades look so darn good. I remember when i first tried axes on my Charr I was like “LOL holy kitten” when he did a triple chop on the enemy. Just felt like he bashed him into the kitten ground with it, I loved it.
Killing an enemy with mace 4 on a warrior as a charr is also satisfying, even though it’s a fatally incorrect usage of it
.
Hundred Blades always looked to me like a really terrible use of force and leverage. Seeing my character stand there with a huge heavy sword and swipe it back and forth like that makes me think he’s an idiot.
The axe one is funny though, it’s like after the first three hits you get ‘unhappy’ at it for still being alive and decide to dispense with this ‘cutting’ and just bludgeon it to death.
About the axe thing, yes, it’s so amazing, I just love it.
And well, opinions I guess, Hundred Blades looks fine to me, especially the final blow.
How much does it take you to do an event in Orr?
Well, CoF path 1 takes about 5-10 minutes, 5-6 with a 4 war/1 mes group. You earn a lot, lot, LOT more money than from a single event in Orr. Not to mention that you can use the tokens to buy rares at the vendor for 30 tokens each and salvage them for ecto. It just gives so much profit, and it’s not difficult or challenging in any way (the Searing Effigy fight has potential, but the rate on the crystal healing for the effigy is just so low that absolutely everything just outdamages it so you just have to dodge a projectile here and there and sidestrafe 3 steps out of the flamethrower.).
Honestly, if I saw Charr using “Leap of Faith” like other races do, I’d delete my Charr. The Charr’s one is clearly the more brutal, with the others doing some odd twirl with no visible power behind it. When I imagine Charr, I think ferocity rather than grace, despite them technically being akin to felines; which, are otherwise graceful etc. Well, that’s the way I see it.
For the Hammer F1, it’s fine, but I think Leap of Faith needs to be adjusted a bit. It looks a wee bit too much like silly bending rather than brute force, even though there’s some in it.
My Thief, now immortalized by a paintbrush.
Wow, this is amazing. You should really post this in Fan-generated if you haven’t already.

I play a Female Charr Ranger, and I think she looks baddass!
(Any Greatsword suggestions though, besides Twilight/Greatsaw?)
Fused Greatsword, Kymswarden, Legionairre Greatsword, Corrupted Avenger, Super Greatsword, Naga Fang, Molten Greatsword, Ghastly Greatsword, Greatsword of the Dragon’s Deep.
More expensive versions: Foefire’s Essence, Vision of the Mists, Volcanus.
1 and a half runs, Greatsword skin.
my main is a female charr
https://dviw3bl0enbyw.cloudfront.net/uploads/forum_attachment/file/51926/Kodin_1.PNGOoh, that looks like quite a decent medium armor set on Charr, may I know what it is? Would love it for my thief in the future.
He’s sporting T1 Cultural “Drover’s” with Fractals weapons. I could guess at the dyes, but I’m sure if you ask him in a PM, he’ll tell you.
As I already have, yeah, he told me.
Not to stray from the topic though (I intended to comment myself, but then I saw the pic and actually forgot about the original reason I’m here x)), I see more female Charr lately than before. Males still outnumber them, but females are considerably less rare, atleast from what I’m seeing. I’m thinking Rox’s horns being available has something to do with it :x
I’ve never seen this kind of thread, and thought I’d create one in case others share my opinion of this game having some pretty good effects.
Personal favorite would be the Mesmer illusion shatter sound. Along with the animation and the glass like “fall-apart”, I just find it so amazing, lol.
