… that happened to me about 15-20 minutes ago too. I was also doing 86 snowblind, then had a really bad ping for few minutes, now i got the same error message.
No idea what is going on. Where are you from if i may ask? Maybe it’s region related.

The game was working perfectly fine up until about 20 minutes ago. I was in the middle of the Snowblind fractal when my ping suddenly skyrocketed to 800. I tried restarting the game, but I couldn’t even log in – I got the error message that says the client could not connect to the server. I tried restarting my PC as well, made it into the game again, but the ping was now up to 1600. Next restart it dropped me as I was logging into my character.

My browser and other online games are working normally.

Karka Queen's Magic

This is a Collection Item from the fourth collection towards the H.O.P.E. legendary. You’re supposed to defeat the Karka Queen with the Dwarven Spell Trap item activated, just like you have to defeat 2 other bosses. I’ve done this successfully with the other two, but I have done the Karka Queen with it activated 6 times now, multiple times on different characters as well, and haven’t received Karka Queen’s Magic. I’ve read this is because you loot it from the Queen’s corpse and only a limited amount of people are able to tag her for loot – this would make sense because my computer is really bad and my loading times are awfully long, which doesn’t help when she spawns on the other half of the map. I’m still not sure of this though, and if it is the case, could the item be transferred into the daily chest she leaves behind after she is defeated?

Apparently, this doesn’t drop as often as it is supposed to. It’s on the list of fixes for legendary collections; I don’t recall if the relevant dev had time to post an ETA or not.

I did see in a dev post that they’re aware of a problem with the Ancient Karka Husk, but I don’t know if that includes this too. Would be logical that it does I suppose.

Just 20 minutes ago I was participating in reclaiming Tarir, and right before we were about to finish the event, during the final burn phase, I suddenly got thrown into a loading screen, one which loaded me into a different map. Needless to say I lost my map participation and this map also happened to fail the event.

One thing I’m suspecting: I was in a party with 3 other people before this happened. We were not in the same maps, we were in a party because they were trying to join my own map after I posted on the LFG tool, but when I got kicked and loaded into the other map, all 3 of them were there as well.

One more thing that probably doesn’t mean anything but I’ll still put it out there – the switch happened right at the moment the Octovine I was attacking died.

They just share a similar model, otherwise they’re completely different creatures. As already mentioned, it appears in the very first instance of the Sylvari personal story anyway.

You can’t choose which episodes you download, the game automatically downloads any new data available via patches. You do have the data connected to Episode 2, but it is unavailable to you as you have not logged in the 2 weeks the episode was active.

I did it as a warrior:

I put some points in defense to get Sure Footed and Last Stand, I let her first stomp proc Last Stand, immediately after I activated Balanced Stance, followed by Dolyak Signet, followed by a timed Stomp on her next CC, then I used Rampage. When you get out of rampage Balanced stance is just off cooldown, and after that she was dead very soon

I’ve had this happening for a while, but never remembered to post a thread on the forums. I don’t spend much time in Malchor’s Leap or Straits of Devastation, but in Cursed shore and inside Arah there is a pretty immersion breaking bug – “cheerful” music from Krytan and Maguuman regions often plays, and it just sounds terribly unfitting. The most common offender is the theme you can hear often in Queensdale (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swwS5l_CGKM), which occurs atleast once per path while playing inside Arah. It was sort of funny the first time, but now it’s just annoying :<.

What I do in these cases is find the remaining active scouts on the map. When you talk to them (the telescope icons), they reveal the hearts in their area, and when you complete all hearts of that small portion of the map, the scout icon disappears.

Can’t a necro use a scythe? It has been a month or two since I played mine. But I remember having a staff that was something scythe.

You might have mistaken it for the scythe visual effect. All necromancers have a misty black scythe blade appear as an effect when they use their staff spells.

So here’s an idea of how I would change that trailer- keep the LA part at the start but replace the Aetherblade pirate ships with the sound of one then fade out. Fade back in to screams and to the odd bit of burning rubble, fade out to the title. This tells the watcher roughly whats going to happen but doesnt throw images of a burning Lions Arch at us.

I honestly don’t see how that would change anything. If you make the simplest connection you would again conclude that Lion’s Arch is going to get destroyed.

The new music at the marionette is AWESOME.

I believe that you are wrong. It’s not a glitch, it’s simply how that part works. The console requires activation 5 times. Doing it one time after another and making stuff unnecessarily hard or doing it once, then having 4 people do it at the same time making it simple is the same.

As for the actual topic, nothing wrong with stacking imo. You DPS stuff much faster because you’re cleaving, rezes are easier and so on, it’s simply pure efficiency. I mean, I myself wouldn’t find dragging a fight for x minutes longer “fun”.

Hold the line audio is bugged for human male and female. I think it might be bugged for all races. One question though……is guardian shouts not being heard by other players a bug too? Or is it intentional?

Don’t hear it on my Charr either, I think it’s same for all races. I am wondering about the second question you presented as well, though.

This is incredibly awesome, but, imo, this is what Orr should be. With Zhaitan instead of Tequatl. I think it always should have been on this grand scale, having impactful effects (both positive and negative) based on what failed and what succeeded. These effects are in Orr to some degree, but in very weak forms. If I walk over a patch of land that has a firestorm or brambles applying bleed and cripple, I’ll find it a minor annoyance, not a sign of Zhaitan’s power that was multiplied by seizing some of the temples.

Because you’ve already leveled other characters through the normal way and it started to get a little tedious, especially considering certain level ranges have very few zones available?

Having specific guilds in order to do open world content show how bad the design of the encounter is.

While I applaud you guys for this as well, I can’t help but agreeing with this statement. One should NOT have to form two 500 person guilds to be able to beat an open world boss. Are we also to have a Jormag guild and a Shatterer guild, when those are revamped? Ludicrous.

If they want content requiring that level of coordination, it should be restricted to raid-style instances.

Again, not to diminish what you guys have done – it really is cool – but it should never have been necessary in the first place. I’m all for hard content, but difficulty imposed by the overflow system requiring this kind of “guild made just to kill a boss” guild is silly.

Imo that’s like saying “oh these guys made a guild for dungeons, that’s just silly”. I mean, it’s a lot like doing dungeons with pugs and with an organized group. Always gonna go quicker with those you know and those you can coordinate with. As for Jormag/Shaterrer, I don’t see why can’t the current guilds simply be active on all 3 of the bosses.

After all, it ISN’T really necessary, but you do happen to have to fall into a server/overflow with people that can listen.

I was leveling my Weaponsmith profession, and as I did so, I noticed that the Celestial Orichalcum Inscription I made does not show up on the discovery window. As I looked at it again in my inventory, I noticed that it does not indicate any usability in professions. For example, a Carrion Oric. Inscription would say “Weaponsmith (400), Artificer (400), Huntsman (400)” or something along those lines, but the Celestial one contains no such indication.

My guess is since it doesn’t appear to be linked to any professions on the tooltip, it does not appear in any discovery windows?

Loved the artwork too when I saw it, and I still do, it’s amazing as is all the other art for GW, but the fact that Teq doesn’t really look like that bugs me a bit. Felt the same for stuff like the Kessex Hills/Fields of Ruin artworks and stuff.

Are you noble Background?

If not and you finished playhouse do you remember what Faren said when you saved him and clicked him for his dialogue?

My character said “don’t ever change friend” and that lead me to believe a lot more NPC’s can discern personal story progression (my Mesmer is noble and met Faren way back in the past)

My Blood Legion Charr said the same thing.

But all in all, this was a very, very interesting read. I liked her character, but this just increments it. This really should be put in the game, in some way.

Are you sure it worked, like ever? I’m pretty sure it’s intended that blocks and reflects don’t stop the deadeye shot

As far as I remember, it used to block. But I could be wrong, hence I want to find out if it was intended. Also Aegis pretty much blocks everything in the game which makes me wonder why the exception?

I believe it was their intended “thing”. Overcharged windup shot that cannot be blocked by anything but terrain and dodging.

If you’re looking for the Sylvari-ish look, mix your tier 3 cultural withTwilight Arbor armor, you can get a nice look from that.

If you’re going for a traditional thief-y thing, the Crucible of Eternity armor is neat.

Strange, I bought 10 for fun and each one teleported me somewhere, while the last one only knocked me down.

but explain it more, where did you get teleported? just to a random place in map or to a place where you could find anything different/special?

Twice directly on vistas, and the rest were random spots on the map.

Kudu was a terrible cliche villain in my opinion. He even says “Tah!” as he twirls his mustache and vanishes.

But Guild Wars does tend to have a record of badly written villains. Both the Lich and Shiro were incredibly shallow back in GW1, until Nightfall pasted some extra backstory to them. Varesh was also incredibly cliche, with unclear motives, but at least she looked cool.

I’d say the only villains that I really like are Mad King Thorn and Palawa Joko. Especially the Halloween game where the two of them met, was incredibly entertaining.

Kudu’s voice acting was a tiny bit lacking (was helping some people with SE story earlier), and altho he may be classical, i found him sort of compelling. Each to his own, i guess.

What I forgot to mention and saw it in your post, yes, the Mad King was nice. I do sincerely hope they bring him back this year too.

There’s a lot of talk going around about Trahearne and some other characters which weren’t very likable, but I couldn’t seem to find a thread about favourite ones, besides the one discussing the death of some likeable ones.

Not to repeat what everyone else has, Tybalt and Sieran are indeed nice yes. Though another character whose mission I liked a lot (and her herself) is the Knight of Embers. Even though hostile, her character caught my attention. Besides her, I also found Kudu to be “entertaining”, to say the least

If I may add another thing, I’ve had this multiple times as a Mesmer in dungeons. When our Thief used Shadow Refuge on the entire party, as it expired, I used Mass Invisibility (note, not after Shadow Refuge ended, right before it did). When the stealth effect of Refuge ended, the visual effect was gone, but the icon was still there and the mobs ignored us as they should have.
