I found this post by ebay against other servers complaining about ebays higher population ironic since it doesn’t seem to apply to them

how is this ironic? he’s talking about, regardless of population “imbalance,” ARBP being bad at zerging, bad at skill groups, and bad at small mans.

ebay is heavily outnumbered and outcoveraged this matchup, but that doesn’t mean we don’t put up a hellacious fight, unlike ARBP (and they’re kidding themselves if they think they were outnumbered anywhere to the extent we are now). this is a matchup where a guild thought they were running relatively “light” with 35 people. in my guild’s case, that’s more people than we’ve ever fielded, even on reset nights.

honestly, this was a pretty pleasant matchup and unremarkable thread until the level of objectivity slid and baseless backpatting on all sides started up.

This thread brings me such joy.

I didn’t get the feeling that I was overpowered last night when I ran WvW with my Necro. I’ve always set up my Necro as a zerg-buster, so I’m focused on as much AoE damage as I can do – staff/wells/epidemic/plague/DS #4 – and now the addition of DS #5 to the mix certainly helps. Perhaps the longer I play around with it the more powerful I’ll feel. Mostly I’m looking forward to being able to prevent people from fleeing.

How can BP thump their chest for 2 weeks then expect people to show courtesy and respect to all its players?

Don’t attack our leveled up players. Please let them get to their destination or your just mean.

Don’t attack us in the JP because it will make us mad, and it’s just mean.

I’ve seen players honor both these things out of respect, but I can’t say many do it for BP. Guess if you respect those around you, they may show some back.

Guardians are annoying on any team you have mostly, for some reason i see 90% of the use wall or reflection on bosses with no ranged attack at all, and they do so little damage and die all the time, now a good guardian is really hard to come by but there are a few,

This is true. Guardians are easy to play, but I see very few players who can really play them well.

Stone.6751

From what I have read, you can only get the Aetherblade Armor from the Gemstore.

My first response is what the hell? Why can’t I earn the armor skins by doing objectives?

Yes, anyone can buy gemstones via in-game gold, but when all skin content has to be obtained by grinding and farming gold it becomes extremely boring and disappointing.

I am really disappointed in Anet’s decision to not challenge the player. I guess that is the logic behind this. Anet is afraid to challenge the players so they put everything on the gem store so anyone can just grind their way or spend cash. I don’t really blame them. If they made content or a challenge there would be players crying on the forums.

There really is no such thing as a challenge anymore in MMOs. Its just a grind.

What you call a grind I call having fun playing the game. See, its in your approach to the game that you see it as a chore rather than a pleasurable way to spend your time.

When you get too hung up on the gold/items/rewards and lose sight of the fun of playing the game you kill it for yourself. But you do that to yourself.

They way I understood Torment is similar to what Confusion did, only the intensity stacks when you move rather than attack.

Imagine this scenario for a Necro in WvW. You drop Torment on an enemy, swap back out of DeathShroud and pop Epidemic to spread it, then use Staff #5 to Fear your enemy. Suddenly a group of people are stacking damage from Torment unless they can break out of it.

Necro also has trouble chasing enemies down when they try and flee. If I’m in WvW and I’m winning its usually pretty easy for my opponent to just turn and run away from me. With Torment, and the speed buff to DeathShroud, hopefully that will make it at least possible for me to prevent my prey from running away.

If you are looking for someone to clearly lay out your objectives and rewards then I can see why this game might be disappointing. Perhaps people who migrated from other MMOs are used to that and feel adrift in GW2. That’s what it sounds like to me anyway.

Players like myself, and there seem to be at least a few of us from what I’ve seen and read, aren’t MMO players. We don’t have preconceived MMO expectations for the game. Instead we enjoy the game for what it is, a fun video game, but one that’s larger, more dynamic, and more social than standard single-player games.

Keep an eye out for events and make sure you are filling in your map as you go, so look for Skill Points, Vistas, and Points of Interest. Those will also help pad your XP as you move from one area to another. Also, complete your Daily for a little extra XP as well. You can also take on a Heart that’s a level above you, and as others have said, your Personal Story will help level you up quickly.

Leveling in this game is pretty fast. Honestly I felt like the game didn’t really start until I was 80.

wow. the new ebay emerges.

We also rigged the last 2 days to try and make sure AR loses after we were called out for not flipping your keeps enough. I guess that does kinda make us like Ehmry.

Except that EBay would have known it was going to hurt their ranking. 2 days ago, you ranked higher than SBI, and today … you don’t. And that’s the really fun part.

This wasn’t lost on anyone last night, I made my voice heard in Eternal and probably ruffled some feathers in the process. I’m not a big fan of directing our server strategy just so that a few people can make a point in the forums, especially if it hurts the overall server or makes our players who were fighting in the other maps feel alienated because they needed help and we didn’t respond. Even if it was just for one night and when the win was secured for the week I didn’t really like the way it came across. I despised eBay for their dumpster talk and the way the reacted to forum postings, and I certainly hope that’s not the future of BP. But that’s my opinion and I’m just one person on a server of many.

I did have a lot of fun in Eternal last night fighting SBI. You guys pull some big numbers and there were times when you had us against a wall but you just couldn’t quite finish us off. Some of those battles were truly awesome, especially when you had us pinned in the Dredge tunnel. Good fun.

I don’t grind, and I don’t think GW2 as a game is a grind, but I’m not a big fan of the Dragon Bash content.

Mini-games are not my thing, and I’m not really interested in busting 200 pinatas, etc. The Moa Races were kind of fun for a day. I do it when I am running by one, but I don’t focus on doing it and likely will not complete this Living Story achievement.

I don’t think its fair to say that the entire GW2 game is now becoming a grind, but the achievements in Dragon Bash were certainly a boring time-sink.

“That’s the real problem with commander status really, no one earns that the honest way they get it thru money.”

That’s true, they should have made commander something you earned. But anyone with money to throw away can get it. Most of them hang out in LA and never set food into the battlegrounds. It’s just a big blue “Hey look at me, I’m important” icon. The reality is that a majority of people who are actually good at pvp tend to get a big ego and start disrespecting everyone else. Then they are surprised when nobody listens to them. Being good at pvp doesn’t make one a good leader. Being a good leader makes one a good leader. Remember Team Legacy in Beta and early launch.

Plenty of people, including myself, have purchased a commander’kitten. Not very many people, again myself included, have put in the time as a commander to earn the notoriety, skill and respect that a tenured commander has on a server. Pugs, for the most part, know who is who and guilds certainly do.

Good fights and good match up but why do all the BP forum warriors claim to have queued ARBL..?

Because people talk across servers all the time. I party chat with AR and SBI regularly particularly after a good fight.

Players can also see the out manned buff on enemies so a lot of the “we were out manned” statements often fall on deaf ears since the other server usually knows.

Friday night about 10:00 EST we had a Que for AR BL, that is the only Que we have had this week, unless we were Que’d in the middle of the day while everyones working which is doubtful. It doesn’t really matter anyways, as for the seeing outmanned buff, I thought I read it was changed so enemy players cannot see it, maybe its in an upcoming patch.

I could sit here and tell you BP outnumbers both the other servers until I’m blue in the face but you guys won’t accept it, even SBI has mentioned this. We deal with it, I personally don’t care about being outnumbered its part of the game and its good for BP, it definately helps your server. Theres nothing wrong with it but don’t deny its a factor.

I don’t know with any certainty that it is a factor. If there is data on server size (outside of very broad categories of high/very high), and more specifically on wvw size, I’ve never seen it. So all I would have to go off of is the limited perspective I personally have in the limited window I play.

It certainly ‘feels’ like we outnumber AR, judging from our many matches, but SBI is harder to judge at this point in time. They can pull down some pretty large groups at times, so are they just limiting themselves to one map whereas BP jumps to make our presence felt more? I don’t know.

I do know that numbers do matter, and when you are continually on the losing end of that it sucks.

AR imo has good duelist small group tactics and players. I think it’s due to being an spvp server. I know several sbi who were good in spvp transfer there for spvp. They do occasionally wvw too.

I have to say one AR on average is worth at least 2 SBI in small group situations. Ie. Anything less than 20.

Do you think any of this has to do with how players are spec’d? I ask because I know my guild has made efforts to spec for group dynamic, which leaves some at a disadvantage for small group tactics. We have had some take on small group specs with the intent of branching out from the zerg to take other objectives, and from what ive seen the do very good in small group skirmishes.

In the open field, AR has better movement, with far fewer numbers and are just overall a better server to face. BP blobs and now that they increased their numbers to win coverage wars, people want to chest thump thinking its something great. They won the points battle and they get………wait for it………nothing! Have you’re points Blob Pass, but when you face any server that has the same numbers, you will get rolled.

Depends on the map and the group you are facing. Deltona’s squad can win facing a much larger force in the open most of the time. I haven’t seen anything like that group on either AR or SBI (doesn’t mean it isn’t there just haven’t seen in). EBay (Rekz, GF, GH) forged several of our better groups into really lean stacking machines. If you haven’t seen it yet, probably means you haven’t been in the BLs around NA Prime because they have been running up the points on BL maps. AR had to queue their map last night to defend against that squad in Bay losing SM in the process.

I would argue BPs weakness is actually defense. We rarely siege up any structure, hardly anyone refreshes siege when it is built, few do escorts or guard, REALLY poor supply management (keeping the newbs from squandering keep supply is common) and we frequently let upgraded keeps fall without a fight. SBI on the other hand does a good job keeping supply and keeps guarded. Rarely do I take an SBI camp or keep and someone (or lots of someones) show up to defend it.

You know, when our two most recent opponents that have faced both BP and AR are saying the same thing. You might want to figure that there is something to what they are saying.

Are they saying that all of BP is bad? no, but 9 times of out 10 when they run into you guys on the field it leaves the impression that BP is just one blobby mess.

BPs greatest weakness is that they try to solve everything by throwing numbers at the problem. Not enough people on the TS server, get moar folks on !. That cute WFD 15 man that everyone loved, not good enough to roll zergs, turn it into a 40 man zerg, not good enough yet, get moar zergy.

I mean . we love ya, we really do.. but don’t come here and make it sound like you have no issues. You guys used to be great at having folks defending…. now they get told to join the zerg. meh..

This is an interesting post, not because you had anything that unique or enlightening, but because its a great example of how people try to paint large group play in WvW as a negative thing. Its thrown both as an insult to skill, usually with the intent to dissuade others from using large group tactics, even though raising a large army is important.

While I would agree with you that a large, unorganized group of PUGs mindlessly following the only Commander tag on the map because they don’t know what else to do, don’t communicate, and have no other type of strategy is truly a “zerg”. What you see from BP isn’t always that. While you may think is a “blobby mess” is often a well coordinated group that’s working together and communicating. There is a major difference between the two things. Larger groups also allow for more supply per group, meaning more siege placed faster – which is especially important when going through two gates on keep (even more true now when defense now is a downpour of death from half a dozen arrowcarts at each gate)

Numbers alone don’t always win, but they are perhaps the most important factor when two armies collide on the field. Communication, coordination and skill no doubt are added bonuses as you see in skill groups like the infamous Rekz who can often wipe groups larger than them, yet they will still fall if overwhelmed.

So continue your perception that large groups, or zergs, are somehow a lesser way to play the game and continue to not utilize them. Oh wait, AR and SBI already does utilize zergs…

(p.s. note the text that “AR is running” that’s because AR had an equally large zerg coming from Ogre’s that ran away when SBI moved in)

I play WvW. Doesn’t matter how bad the loot in little events get or how you can’t ever perma lock events into spawning 100000 mobs for you to kill. You’re loot is still 100,000x better than anything WvW related.

I disagree. I get more and better loot in WvW than I do in the open world, generally. Are you killing mobs, or ignoring them?

I kill mobs in WvW and get nothing comparable to what is possible in the open world.

No T6 mats. No bags from centaurs and skritt? No powerful blood? No armored scales?

My apologies. I was not sufficiently clear. I refer to both quantity as well as quality. I get fewer drops, in no small part because there are fewer mobs. The risk level is higher because focusing on a group of mobs is practically an invitation to a wandering player looking to score a kill.

The loot bags are a step down from the heavy bags found in level 80 PvE zones. In addition, for whakittens worth, the gathering nodes (a not inconsequential source of revenue in PvE for me) in WvW are generally of lower tier than can be found in level 80 PvE zones as well.

I WvW for the fun of it knowing that any loot/income gain will be a fraction of what I could be getting with the same expenditure of time (and generally much less risk) in PvE.

I find that WvW often drops the best loot the most often – that loot being a challenging, dynamic, and enjoyable gaming experience.

When do you consider being done?

  • Reached Level 80?
  • Got max equip?
  • Played every class?
  • Played enough builds?
  • 100% map completion?
  • Seen all the stories GW2 has to offer?
  • Friends playing another game?

If you feel you are done because you reached the goals you set out to do and ArenaNet fails to excite you for something else, then that’s ok. That is a normal thing to happen with a game, but the ball is in Arenanet’s court to fix it.

I felt that the game more or less began all over when I hit level 80, and it didn’t take too long to get exotic gear, so neither of those things would I consider completion of the game. Besides, it leaves Personal Story, Dungeons, PvP, WvW, Jumping Puzzles, Crafting and the Living Story out if you just consider game content.

The game has an open enough world for players to make a lot of choices on their own about what they want to do and what their goals are. I actually set a lot of goals for myself rather than waiting for ANet to do it for me. This is something I talk about with my in-game friends occasionally. I’ve almost always got a goal, and thus a direction to take my game each time I log in, when I see others sometimes struggle with having a direction in the game.

Hmm, a recent post about plating how you want is a nice transition into this post. I feel like GW2 is really a huge sandbox game, and one that doesn’t dictate how to play, where to go, or what choices you need to make. If you have a strong imagination, good frienda to play with, and are focused on play more than reward the game will have a long life. If you need something clearly laid out for you to do, or goals set out for you, it might not last long.

The game is best when it rewards you for doing which ever content you personally prefer. For example, exotic gear, karma, etc…

I think the game falls down when they try to direct you to a particular task. This has been done extensively with ascended gear. Rings are much easier to get through fractals (or so I hear, repeatedly), accessories are much cheaper if purchased using guild accommodations. Almost all ascended back pieces require fractals.

It would be better (IMO) if they weren’t so heavy handed about weighting particular activities.

I enjoy standing around in LA chatting. Should that be rewarded too?

The draw for me with a game like GW2 comes largely from its open world that allows me the freedom to “make my own game” from the world and its systems provided.

If I want to have a costume contest in LA, I can do that. I can explore, chat with frienda, do dungeons, help low level characters, play the TP, role play, farm, roam solo, join WvW, start a guild and be a leader, command in WvW, etc.

My imagination, or lack of, is the limit.

This is not true of most single player games with exception of some sandbox games, but even those days fall far short in comparison to GW2 for allowing me to play the way I want to play.

If you are logging in for a reward, and not to have fun enjoying a video-game, then its not a surprise that you don’t find the game fun.

What does any reward really provide you with? Something else to enjoy playing the game with. If you have already given up on playing for enjoyment then you are beating your head against a wall.

I’d like to add that there are plenty of things to do and ways to play that don’t limit you to grinding and farming for a reward.

Thats what single player games are for. If you honestly get more enjoyment out of GW2 personal story and single player elements over The Witcher 2 / Fallout NewVegas / Dark/Demon Souls etc… then more power to you I guess. People play MMOs for the online multiplayer experience of creating a character and getting loot rewards / skins / and constantly tweaking their build to be as good as possible for their playstyle, and putting those up against other plays in PvP and PvE content. So theres ALOT of character management / economic / meta stuff going on that you dont see in single player games.

Without a doubt, single player games like Dark Souls, Fallout 3, etc. are a far better “game” overall. The draw with a game like Guild Wars 2 is the community, getting to play with friends, and a far, far, far greater openness and dynamic gaming experience.

Rewards are of course great, and they come in all types of forms. The point that I’m making is that if you are ONLY logging in to earn that next reward, and you look at the content of the game as a barrier, obstacle, burden, to that reward then what’s the point? Aren’t all rewards added bonuses to playing the game, the very thing that said person finds a burden and has continued to look past? This is why I find grinding/farming to a a silly way to spend time playing unless that’s truly what you would consider a good gaming experience.

GW2 + Grind = X

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Stone.6751

Stone.6751

I have yet to ever feel this game was a grind. So I guess that’s a job well done by Anet.

But then you have to look at what people consider “grind”. For me, its entering a zone/area with the intent of doing the same thing over and over repetitively in order to progress in the game in some manner AND doing so not because it is enjoyable but instead because its necessary to progress.

In GW2 I have ALWAYS had an alternative – heck, multiple alternatives – to progressing my character forward. Just running hearts on maps, each of which is slightly different, will get you to 80. Then there is the personal story, dungeons, world vs. world, crafting, PvP, exploration, Living Story, meta-events, the daily, etc. you get the point.

By treating this game like any other video game – where I play for the enjoyment of playing a video game – I’ve been more than able to outfit two level 80 characters with exotics/ascended gear, have well over 100G banked, and pretty much have every other thing in the game that I want.

No farming. No grinding. Just playing for fun each day with my friends.

If you start focusing on your reward more than playing for fun, the game will certainly dive quickly into a farm/grind. But that is your choice to overlook the fun of playing a video game in pursuit of the fastest route possible to your reward (which is silly because any reward in the game is really only good for….having fun playing the game).

I wouldn’t say that they are a waste at all. Everyone has a different style of playing, different areas of the game they focus on playing, and those things will alter their perspective on the subject.

I play a P/V/T Guardian and a tanky Necro as well and both have amazing survivability in a support role. The level of V/T I run is probably overkill for PvE but since I do a lot of WvW I leave it. Yea it takes me longer to kill enemies because I don’t have as much kill power, but I can stand and tank for a long time before I’m in any real danger.

I think its legit. Just look at the threads where people are ranking the most to least valuable classes, for WvW or for dungeons. The Thief doesn’t typically rank very high.

Necro is a fantastic WvW class if you build it correctly because pretty much every skill you have can do AoE damage – Marks, Wells, Death Shroud, Plague Form, Epidemic, etc.

If you aren’t ruining zergs with your Necro, and drowning in loot bags, then you are doing something wrong. But you certianly don’t want to try and go one on one with a class like a Thief, who is designed to wreck people one on one. That would be like a bomber trying to win a dogfight with a fighter jet.

Well, players should be spending gold on gems for bag slots, bank slots, character slots. Ideally that seems like a good gold sink for low to mid level players.

Really? Why is that? Are you assuming its required that I buy it or buy a precursor? Because neither of those are required purchases.

Nope, its assuming that you will have to buy everything else, the T6 Mats, the lodestones etc etc…because if you wait for them to drop you will be waiting a VERY long time indeed.

But what if I play the game for the sake of playing a game, and just let the rewards and loot happen rather than grinding and farming for them (bc I think both are silly ways to spend time enjoying a video game). Eventually I will have collected many of the materials already. And honestly, I think thats fitting. I shouldn’t be a Legend until I’m truly a legend.

No, I dint prefer my character to be unattractive. Judging by the characters I see others playing id say a good number would agree.

Honestly, truly dynamic enemies that require teamwork and thought are mostly wvw and pvp for me.

I like the Living Story, but its not a huge focus for me. What I enjoy most is changing up my routine, doing different things, and playing with friends. Usually I set goals for myself and work towards those slowly. No grind, no farm, no play for reward only. I like video games, and I treat GW2 like I would any other game – as a game to play for fun.

In the past couple of months I’ve managed to bank over 200gold.

That may or may not be a lot for some people, but its more gold that I “need” for what I want in the game.

Good. I’m happy for you, but if you want a legendary you are about 1800g short. Irrespective of whether you buy it or craft it.

If you want to make money in this game you have 2 choices. Farm cof p1 or play the trading post. Seeing as how a big part of endgame content in GW2 is grinding for skins which more often than not requires money, why are we SEVERELY limited in the ways we can make money. Im not asking for every monster to drop t6 mats, but just a little consideration for the players who want to log on, kill monsters for an hour and make a bit of money. You can’t always log on and do cof p1 runs because you’re at the mercy of the group and the groups pace. By allowing us to farm like regular mmo players we can kill monsters at our own pace and not feel restricted in our ways to make money.

Im not asking for everything to be made easier, for t6 mats to go down in price or trying to subtly imply that i need things handed to me on a silver platter. Im just saying, think of giving the players some variety. GW1 I could farm raptors, vaettirs,ToPk, 55 monk various locations (trolls, jade brotherhood, undead outside bergens), and many other things. GW2 I have all these enemies I can kill, but after 5 hours of doing so, I’ll be lucky to make a 2g profit.

inb4 just run cof p1 and shut up
inb4 but you dont need skins to play the game
inb4 people who might be borderline ree kitten come in and try to argue with baseless counter arguments

In the past couple of months I’ve managed to bank over 200gold.

That may or may not be a lot for some people, but its more gold that I “need” for what I want in the game. Because I’ve already outfitted two level 80 characters with exotics (some ascended on both but not complete) and the style of weapons/armor I want for each character, upgraded bags and bank slots, there isn’t much I “need” to spend my gold on.

I only play for 2-4 hours at night after work, and I’m lucky to have a few weekends free each month to get in some longer play time. I NEVER farm. I do not run CoF. What I do is run my daily (takes 30-45 minutes) while also running meta-events. Usually I can hit up 4-5 meta events within the first hour of play while simultaneously completing my daily. With those two things alone I’ve made about 1 gold in my first hour of play.

On average I’ll end up banking 1-2 gold per day of playing. Just take what gold you make and deposit it into your bank, leaving only 50s on your character for traveling/repairing armor, etc. You will be amazed at how quickly your gold adds up. I think the more you focus on it, and the more you make it the point of playing (rather than playing for the enjoyment of playing the game) the worse it gets. There is an old saying that “A watched pot never boils”.

Lol we didn’t need 20 omega’s to cap your BL, we did it to have fun.

Clearly you need more.

On the other hand, thanks for the loot; I set up an arrow cart and then got carpal tunnel syndrome picking up the bags from everyone that jumped off the cliff.

It wasn’t hard to tell that we weren’t making a serious attempt at capping all your keeps/towers. We stood around and took down like 4 destroyable outer walls at Bay, again at inner, then we did it again at the tower taking down an outer wall and then trying for more before someone capped the tower. Even when we got to Garrison we worked on taking down multiple outer walls before we did a banzi inside the keep.

Most of the fun was had playing around in the golems before we even moved out. WE had a lot of laughs screwing around. I’m sure there are some people who got some great pictures that I expect to see posted.

This has not been my experience at all. When we play in WvW we regularly take notice of skilled players and people often look at them with envy.

I suppose it would depend on how you approached the conversation, and it could be easy to wade into an egotistical or condescending tone when talking about how awesome you are.

Just earlier tonight I was on a low level alt and came across two players who had only been playing for two days. I joined their party and we played for a while and when we stopped at a trade post I bought them both two 10-slot bags, some food, some sharpening stones, and gave away some weapons I had found that they could use. I also shared a few basic game tips before we parted ways.

I find it quite enjoyable to play with people who are still eyes-wide to the game and playing purely for enjoyment.

Its also fun to randomly mail people cakes and cupcakes when you are in LA.

It seems like some of you here are very caught up in the GW2 market, perhaps to the point that your perspective is altered. Anet probably makes changes to the game with your average player in mind. Any effects to ‘trade post power players’ is perhaps a secondary thought, but of course they are going to do what they feel is the right thing to do for the core of their game – and that exists largely outside of market trading.

HoD/DR/BP

I’m not able to play this week, so I’ve not experienced the lopsided play and what it feels like. However, HoD and DR should keep their heads high and battle on. As it stands right now you both have gained server points, and BP has dropped.

Its a lot like college football. Its not whether you win or lose that matter, but what your rank is, what your opponents rank is, and by how much you win/lose.

Last I checked, BP has 60k, DR 19k, HoD 16k, but it’s 2 days ago. Considering that BP is T5 and DR HoD are T7/8 (I don’t even know if tiers still exist anymore in this system?), the numbers do sound legit, and so outrageous the programmers need to be choked with bland KFCs

On a side note, you guys are right that numbers matter a lot. We experienced that each and every week against Ebay and there just isn’t much you can do when your opponent can cover more of the maps than you for longer periods of time.

Eh, we faced SB, BP, DH, etc etc etc, all of which outnumber us every single time. The whole “come on, guys, we know how being outnumbered feels” doesn’t seem to be appropriate, considering being outnumbered is the entire reason why DR / HoD are in their tier. IF you are facing someone of higher tier, that sympathy holds water, but for the current match up, it doesn’t. So, for the love of GW2, please BP people, drop the whole act already we (DR and HoD) knows exactly how it feels to be outnumbered.

Someone posted that we should have learned that splitting forces and taking more camps/tower/keeps rather than zergballing just to take one thing at a time is a better PPT strategy. I agree with you that this is an area we can improve greatly upon. We don’t always do as good as we could using our manpower wisely, both on offense and on defense. How many times I’ve seen this scenario – A 30 man zerg takes tower, all 30 then move to camp (none left to defend/siege) and then on to another camp to fill zerg’s supply…meanwhile a small group from enemy follows behind and retakes the tower and camp before the PPT is up, netting us almost no points for all our time/effort/manpower.

This strategy certainly is true. It’s simply a matter of not enough man to fill in the positions, either because they are simply not there or because they don’t like having to sit around (they’d rather watch Doctor Who)

I’m feeling like maybe you missed the point I was making with the score. DR and HoD are WINNING against BP this match. While the score may lead people to believe otherwise, and the commanders on here may feel good stomping a lower population server after a prolonged battle against a much larger WvW server in eBay, the truth is we aren’t doing as good as we should.

Notice in the red box the server evolution points. This shows if we are moving up or down in points. As you can clearly see, BP is losing.

I think you are looking at this wrong. Ebay and BP may have similar server populations, but we don’t have similar WvW populations.

Again, don’t let your ego think its a skill thing that let you win. While you had better coordination and better defense those aren’t what allowed you to win by as much as you did (TBH part of it towards the end was people just sick of Ebay being a poor winner and BP turncoats who transferred). Just look at the score evolution on Mos Millenium website and you will clearly see your point spikes coincide with BP/AR lack of coverage.

Anyway, I’m glad you are experiencing again the taste of losing to coverage.
