Projectile destruction is controlled, on-demand, and the cooldown reduction can be taken more advantage of while on sword. Projectile destruction is done during the cast when there are no evade frames (ie: cast and damage portions only).
This way, you can actually Monarch’s Leap back into or Hornet’s Sting away from incoming fire safely. Since these skills have decent cooldowns, it’s not overly strong or random as the current trait.
Since they already evade I say make it a reflect. That is a worthy trait.

Most people seem to think that building like that still can’t survive the amount of burst out there ATM.
Also how is your regen uptime? You’re only getting it from oakheart right? Any need for hs?

You could drop bw for zeyphers, swap fire sigil for battle, and you’ll get more damage from might stacking.
I would be tempted to drop skirmishing for marks as well, as you will get the extra blast finisher and the extra vuln stacks from remorseless.
Oh and oakheart salve for the -5% damag since you will have perma regen.

People want condition damage nerfed into the ground because it goes against the game’s design, plain and simple. This game is about actively attacking and defending. ANET’s goal is to go e-sports, but they haven’t even decided what they want to do with the game. If they want more emphasis on builds rather than actual player skill, then they’re going to need a lot more depth when it comes to traits (not as big as diablo, per se, but much larger than what it is now). If they want more emphasis on player skill, they need to remove the cheese. No RNG sigils and runes. The condition damage stat needs to go. You can’t go from one stealth to another (every stealth is followed by a reveal for 50% or so of the original stealth’s duration. Literally everyone should be rocking zerk or, at most, soldier amulets. This is arena based play, not wvw zerging. More skill shots (great example should be in setting up 100b). Auto attacks need to do less damage. Necros, contrary to popular belief, have not been buffed as hard as people claim. The thing is, though, that they honestly are in a good place, its just that there’s so much cheese flying around that it makes it impossible for them to even hold onto the lime light for even a few seconds.
Tl;Dr
Either we get less cheese in our game and go for some actual skill based gameplay so that the PvP could grow, or we could keep everything super casual and keep the cancerous builds.
I agree they need to bite the bullet and remove all passives.
And if they wanted to keep conditions in pvp it needed a much bigger overhaul than this.

When at or below 50% health a trigger will activate to note the damage you received. After 3 seconds – your next auto-attack will deal bonus damage equal to 100% of the damage you received. This effect has a 15 seconds interval cooldown.Thoughts, anyone?
That kind of makes more sense. A guaranteed nuke that you can prepare for with sos.
I’d probably want it to change the skill bar though, giving you a new skill so that you can time it properly (as opposed to auto).

In PvE – Quick Draw is a damage boost as well.
And you are capped at 25 might anyways. What’s the point ?

I already often feel visually overwhelmed, as it is (especially if I show backpack and with all the clipping issues), without 3 or 4 weapons permanently attached to my char’s body.
As long as it was optional, I guess it would be OK.
Yeh I use mostly basic skins with no effects but I could see how a bunch of legendaries would be a mess. It would be good with toggle though.
And would add some counter play to pvp.

I do like that youre going for a lot of CC though. I guess the major problem I see here is how easily you can get 1-shot once SoS is down.

Looks like a nice, active build. Great utility and none of it is passive (except for fire/air of course).
I was expecting to see spike trap end up in a build like this. I just don’t know why they didn’t add similar utility to all traps.
I might try similar runes/traits in double melee build just for lulz. I think QuickDraw and the extra cc makes that significantly stronger than what it was.

It’s a pretty drastic change, especially considering how many people liked the cele meta. People liked the sustain meta because the previous zerk meta allowed no skilled play. It was burst or die. Well look we are now…

Weaker autos would be interesting, to say the least. On my guard, generating 10+ stacks of might is easy. At around 15 stacks of might, I’m doing 4-5k autos. During those times, I wonder if using literally any other skill is worth the trouble. I’d seriously be interested in seeing how they get that done.
It was actually discussed a lot at the start of the game. Autos do so much damage, buffed by passives, that “skill shots” cease to exist.
Combo fields are another problem. The game just spams so much of everything on short durations. The opposite would make it so much more spectator friendly.
Eg you can only do a fire field once per minute, but fire shield lasts like 15 seconds…

The combat in gw2 is amazing but 3 years in, people have to accept that there are some core reasons why it is not popular.
What the op is talking about is one of those reasons, if not the main one.

Power lb and condi survival got some buffs with remorseless. I didn’t want them buffed because they were already our strongest and still weren’t tpvp viable…
Traps have the same problem which is that they are weak for the investment. All they do is provide damage for cost of utility, but no team needs more damage, especially from rangers. KD on spike trap is the right idea, but they all need something like this.
Spirits, I don’t even want to go there. Just terrible.
Remorseless GS – same old problems. GS AA is too weak and you will never hit a good player with maul (or hilt bash). GS AA should be our highest damage AA on account of being the slowest (apart from lb), and melee.
I still have hopes for shouts, although the utility in those skills is still pretty crap. Resounding timbre should offer unique boons for each shout. Then we might actually have a viable support build.
And I am surprised you didn’t know runes of the trooperare bugged Mr forum specialist. Its been noted in the forums from day 1!

I had a quick go of something similar yesterday and its definitely not any more viable than itwas before.

This update is the single biggest shakeup to gear, traits, skills, balance the game has ever had.
That means your old builds might not work, might need to be changed, or might be gone forever.
However, completely new builds are now available, and it will be a couple of months before community starts to figure all of these out.

There’s going to be more complaints about rangers and they might come from the front line. With the new traits, rangers are going to get 1500 range and fast arrows standard and the GM trait is going to give piercing (+10% arrow velocity and 20% cooldown reduction as well).
Zerg guardians running the standard build are going to lose 300 armor and 2000 hp from traits (they will get some stats back from equipment) and don’t seem to be getting much defensive abilities in return.
Compare rangers with necros. Wells, while powerful, have a 900 range; Life Blast has a similar range and does its best damage at 600. And rangers are getting some nice defensive traits with the patch.
With respect to soloing, a 6 year old with the standard longbow traits and the BM pet upgrades should be able to solo a camp inn under a minute.
Personally, I don’t think the zerg rangers deserve piercing fast arrows at 1500; The gameplay is too mindless for little skill and risk. Shortbow deserves piercing, as it its range is 900. The only reason why nobody complains more is that at some point when the frontline does push, zerker longbow rangers can be easily exposed and they are especially vulnerable in a castle fight.
We shall see on Tuesday how things work out but I think we’ll be seeing more rangers in WvW.

I think it’s the wrong solution for the stated problem. This extractor is intended for infusions, not runes or sigils. The question is whether there should be a way to recover things that are worth 2-10 gold and if so, what that looks like.
The old transmutation system was designed to make it easy to move those upgrades from one piece of gear to another. The current wardrobe doesn’t allow for that, so maybe there could be a similar setup:
- Use a transmutation charge to move an upgrade into your upgrade locker.
- Upgrade any gear you have from your upgrade locker.
- Add some sort of limitations to prevent stockpiling or other things that could disrupt the markets. Perhaps a limit on how many you can store or for how long.
I’m not against making it easier to preserve expensive upgrades. I just don’t think the extractor is the right tool for that job.

I’d rather see Honed Axes give 10% crit chance for each axe equipped, since ferocity doesn’t do much for condition builds. At least this way, you get a benefit to power builds and condition builds through on-crit procs.
