because when you slow down in life you get to enjoy more things in between
in my opinion the rewards are bad, but the content is still too easy so they need to be bad.
there should be challenge mode to the challenge mode which involves actually hard content and a good lot.
disclaimer: good loot doesnt mean to me current raid loot a.k.a 60silver exotic with some blues and greens.

I disagree with this point in particular. The necromancer’s design is fine, it just needs meaningful offensive support and meaningful personal damage.
isn’t the lack of it part of the design? it was designed to “be slow and selfish” which of course doesn’t work in this game
not the gameplay. i only enjoy the theme of death
plague signet is useless when you can clear condis aoe from entire party (druid while using offensive skills, ele whenever needed can just cast healing rain and continue dpsing)
epidemic is useless because all adds are cleaved down immediately after pull.

that being said, it’s clear the discussion is pointless as the rational thoughts and arguments are continuously met with ridiculous statements that don’t have any reflection in the real gameplay. i only hope if the balance team reads this thread, they would see the unfairness necro suffers from and not the emotional and paranoic thoughts of some of our contributors here.
the tradeoff is everything necro doesnt have that ele has. utility and survivability. necro would have similar damage to thief and ele but ele would still be better because of everything it can do. even now you have thief with similar dps to ele + lots of dodges. nobody complains on thief even though they are essentially immortal with invigorating precision. and you still dont see them in raids. but no necro has a lot of hp so they’re immortal…please. this argument is as ridiculous as the paranoia that ele time would be over. i simply want necro to be on par with at least 1 thing

“Endless Powerful Harpy Feather” – bundle, 10 sec stealth on 1 min cd
“Lucky Centaur Hoof” – endless consumable, grants 30 sec swiftness on 1 min cd
“Deployable Jump Pad” – bundle that let’s you setup a jump pad that launches you forward (gosh I just love goating around!)
“Parachute” – bundle that makes you immune to falling damage when you hold it
Think you missed a zero there 10-20 min cd atleast on both hoof and feather
and 30 mins on the jump pad up for afew mins like the buff feasts.
The parachute now why would you need that when you got glider?
lol no zeros missed. Swiftness and stealth isn’t that difficult to come by as mes portal. You can already chain a lot of stealth on short cd with harpy feathers. 6 seconds cd, 3 seconds stealth. That gives you 50% stealth uptime. And you would give this item 20 minutes cooldown? Hell no.

Hi devs. Power reaper is weak. It needs a buff to be in par with thief/ele in dps. Then I can enjoy the raid content and people wouldn’t exclude me from playing. Look at ele you got 3 viable builds. Thief is somewhat the same dps. Ele still brings more utility. Look at necro, no utility and disastrous dps, 1 build recently butchered and 1 build worse than PS warr dps.
Btw same can be said about other builds like power engi for example. We need to get more versatility.
Since you decided not to go with 10 man buffs and we have mirror comps, it opens 4 spots for dps class. Currently owned by ele or thief. I play power necro and I need this dps so i can be useful since I don’t bring ANY meaningful utility.

Well I suggest adding another convenience VIP place, I need one undead/catacomb themed where ghosts and skeletons are the npcs.

It is pretty consistent vuln to be honest. As for dropping dps traits, its 1 trait that gives +5% damage vs a trait that, without, you risk having less than 25 stacks of vuln and therefore overall party dps is dropped significantly. I’d take Bitter Chill every day of the week.
you also drop chill of death.

i think for power build self maintaining vuln wont be too bad. because power builds tend to go with Spite trait line. With Reaper trait line synergy can apply vuln on freeze very rapidly. Then u also got vuln spreading in shroud trait in Spite that works pretty well on adds. Reaper 5 + whirl finish stacks freeze and vuln pretty quickly. then u got reaper 3 fear that applies freeze taht applies vuln due to trait synergy.
these are just burts of vulnerability. not consistent. apart from that you have to drop dps traits
Hi I’m a big fan of rewards such as permanent portal. I can only see it going forward with such type of exclusive raid rewards. My biggest wish right now is a permanent revive orb with a long cooldown. Feel free to write down your suggestions as well
necro doesn’t bring own buffs lol thats why you need party support – 25 perma vuln and a lot of buffs to achieve that 100%. these circumstances require premade team and the damage difference between berserker set is marginal (literally the only difference is on zerk you have 100something more power and on valkyrie 100something more ferocity ONLY if you use the furious oil). now take into consideration phase breaks, adds and anything else that may lack 25 vulnerability at a time and you’re already at a disadvantage. + op wants to pug fractals so good luck to valkyrie
Hello I just wanted to report that when you use Fire Elemental Powder, you are unable to summon Pocket Jade Armor. When you summon Pocket Jade Armor first, you can use the Fire Elemental Powder item, but the summon doesn’t appear.

to the op:
1) your build is not the optimal power reaper build, it would require gear changes and a lot of concious decisions for every encounter and dmg rotation
2) power reaper is not meta by any means but that doesn’t stop you from running it and being decent (only when you optimize it)
3) i only run as power reaper in dungeons and fractals, i am minmaxed and pugs seem to accept me (of course i dont join lfg’s that ask for viper specifically because that would be me being a kitten)
4) dont use brazil builds
5) here (message to minmaxers: valkyrie only in theory is optimal, perfect circumstances are not something that will happen to a reaper because when you choose to play reaper you automatically choose to not have nice things)

Since our trials (except ele) are extremely hard and many people can’t join, we have now an alternative just for you! What you need to do is really quite simple.

I bring “Suffer!” for Matthias because of the extra condition transfer. I find it does more consistent damage during fire / rain / abom phase than anything else, and it also has a lot of valuable utility as well (I can spread fire phase burns to lingering ice patches to kill them).

Well the damage for all of them is bad, you bring flesh wurm for matthias because it lets you teleport back to the stack quickly after dropping off poison, allowing you to get in more DPS as well as avoid unintentionally pulling him out of the middle. It also gets you out of a tornado and you can use it while stunned to avoid killing your teammates with the timed bomb. Teleports in general are really good against matthias and there isn’t a great 3rd slot DPS skill unless you’re willing to risk cpc, so most everyone I know takes flesh wurm for that fight.
every issue you wrote doesn’t concern me so i’m better off using bone fiend. it’s just optimal if you play perfectly
blood rubies and petrified wood shouldn’t go to the storage, it should go to the wallet.
necromancer also lost the ability to consistently transfer conditions back onto matthias. If jagged horrors aren’t up, you can only transfer one condition every 5 seconds on average, assuming you have a blood fiend and a flesh wurm.
flesh wurm, wtf? best dps minion for viper necro is bone fiend, the devourer one. shoots 2 100% combo projectiles with each attack.
I Run today t4 with 4 necs 1 druid , it was like pre patch , easy and half fast , i dont See a Problem here
why the druid though, you no longer need minions healed

Yeah, handling all that pressure must have been extremely difficult on necro, the squishiest class in the game with no survivability options. Incredible feat, other speedrunners don’t even come close to this level of skill.
it might seem like it’s easy to survive on necro, but they only can outheal via lifesteal and that’s it. 8 second projectile block for the cost of self weakness doesn’t help either. necro doesn’t have blocks, invulns and long projectile defense. compare it to thief which has block on low cd, pretty much endless dodges, projectile defense + blinds and outhealing trait+signet which makes it pretty much immortal.
I believe the fight is fair, maybe look at KINGS guide on the fractal if you need to.

Seems like everyone thinks I’m having trouble with the encounter. I don’t. What I’m trying to say is, I can’t use things like unrelenting assault because I would die as I lose control of my character and panels ignore evades.
As someone mentioned shifting the damage to third attack would be best imo.
Ranged players have much less factors to worry about and this should be balanced. Like, maybe make the kitty golems to aggro on players outside x range from boss. The fight should still be hard, just more user friendly.
1. allow us to dodge the damaging panels
2. don’t remove condis from boss when the vuln debuff is out
3. lower the boss’s damage and remove daze from 3rd attack.
4. make fixated stay longer
right now the fight punishes melee a lot. the charr even turns around with each attack so you cant sidestep, and you cant even dodge much because evade doesn’t work on the panels. this should be balanced. i like hard encounters but not cancerous and there’s a difference
No need for full control. Even a single passive button is sufficient. Or at least allow us to manually blow them up.
