The t6 mats manipulation are peanuts compared to what’s going on with crystalline dust market.
Newsflash: Crystalline Dust is a T6 Mat
Ahh a real-world problem manifest in-game again. Obviously the wealthy person hides his money in tax havens, land and bonds!
Everybody knows that.
This proves that ANYTHING is possible!
Well done.
Only a guardian thinks karkas’ quintuple-shot attacks makes them easy to farm.
My mesmer friends disagree.
I remind them that GW2 was designed to let players play as they choose.
There are 5 to 6 valid ways of speccing a guardian! Who knew that?
I suggest that the OP forgets the idea of a legendary with all those real world commitments, unless (of course) he wishes to dole out real money for gems for gold.
I have another problem:
I have 77 Mystic clovers, but I have very few T6 materials. I was wondering if there might be another use for Clovers introduced to the game so that I can throw my remaining Obsidian shards into the forge without hoping that I don’t get more clovers?
This whole thread sounds like a PUMP. I guess a lot of people have high sell orders.
I expect less people will be farming Orr for bags now that they’ve been nerfed. This means less OriOre on the market so it would make sense if it settled where it was before the rich node was introduced: around where it is now.
Just don’t buy it at that price. If nobody is willing to purchase, it won’t go up. What’s wrong with you people? Have some patience.
The awesome looking (especially for level 20) Jotun Greatsword has no unique icon.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Jotun_Greatsword
Pshhhh as a guardian, please summon the bow. Look mom, I can hit things that are far away!
Ironically, the Sword does that better than anything the guardian has, too!
There are many reasons people don’t go to collect conjured weapons (sticking with group, didn’t spot the weapon, etc).
Remove both the big orange swords, and the gray swords over contested objectives.
I agree!
This is an example of players always watching their UI and not what’s going on in-game. I prefer to see visual indicators in the game-world rather than the UI (i.e. black smoke in the distance to indicate that enemies are inside a keep).
Also, this belongs in suggestions.
I think you need to understand that we have been in your position, Hilguebelle, and no, it’s not much fun when the sides aren’t balanced (whatever time of day it is).
Perhaps we need a better offhand? Maybe another sword?
Only a guardian thinks 1000-1200 crits is great damage.
it’s funny because it’s true.
Hahahaha, that’s right! Wait… 1000-1200 crits IS great damage.
Who knew they were OP?
It seems Mr Peters has too much time on his hands, despite the dominance of MESMERS and THIEVES…
TBH id be happy if they just removed the spirit weapons and gave us something else, I hate pets.
I agree with this person, the spirit weapons are rubbish and should be replaced. As it stands they are taking up valuable skill slots that should be taken up by something useful.
Hey, at least they didn’t nerf something useful !!
I used spirit weapons under water because … I (and everybody else) is rubbish underwater!
Now I have to go back to using my out-of-water skills underwater too. Shouts galore, “GLUG!”
All the people in this post casually dismissing the fact that the current state of dungeons (like cof p2) is near impossible for pub groups either haven’t tried those dungeons post patch or are trolling.
Is the new CoF p2 Assassin encounter difficult?
And a thief shouldn’t be invisible whilst performing finishers, because they’re attacking
I fixed your comment for you.
It is a fantasy game for God’s sake, people are sick to death of the controlling nature of money on life let alone in an escapist world. You constructed a world with the freedom to envision it as you liked and somehow you managed to make it as shackle snaring and mundane as real life.
Varkronn completely nails it, Arenanet.
Good luck with CoE. Buy Charged Lodestones while they’re only 3g, because no PUGs will be completing this dungeon.
I wish i found some group intrested in trying it.. Never mind.
www.gw2lfg.com
The team is aware of the issues with this daily and they’re looking into it. Thanks.
Meanwhile some people have done it and others haven’t.
NOOOOOO It sounds horrible x.x i’m scared to patch the game when i get home….maybe if i dont patch it up the game will fix itself!! :x (not likely :P )
It’s kitten. We’re having to run around in groups trying to get kill combos to trigger. Nightmare!
Our nerf is the combo requirement of dailies. GL guardians.
They will go back up when people have no karma left.
Yes, this proves there is massive market speculation, contrary to John Smith, Arenanet economist’s claims.
Rofl
Because the rich ori node in southcove just got removed.
xD
We all know that, but my point is that someone knew about it before the patch. There seems to be metagame leaking going on.
Why did the price of Orichalcum spike when the patch notes have only just been released?
Random speculation? I think not. I suspect a patch notes leak. Does anybody know anything about this?
No it’s pretty much terrible, it packs a punch if it ever hits.
Good on Lupicus phase 1 because it automatically hits the first thing in front of you, be it locusts, grubs or lupicus. It’s AFK time.

We know what is the class problem,
For the uninitiated, the problem is that The Guardian does not fit this description:
Guardian
The Guardian[s] [..] focus on area control and punishing enemies for the position on the battlefield. We want them to feel very powerful when their boons are active, but if those boons are removed, they will start to feel pressure. They can remove conditions more easily than the Warrior, but share the Warrior’s need to be in melee range to dole out maximum damage.

This is what was said about stealth for the Thief, when it was first revealed:
(watch from 2:50 to 3:21)
Interview (http://kotaku.com/5780900/the-guild-wars-2-thief-is-a-rogue-like-none-other):
“Stealth in Guild Wars 2 runs on a timer, which would allow you a few precious seconds of Initiative recharge before the enemy uncovers you again. The wise Thief player will know when to retreat and recharge."
“Players are used to going toe-to-toe with monsters, and the Thief is built around hopping in-and-out of combat. If you don’t know when to back off, you’re going to die.”
Here’s the description of stealth from wiki:
“Stealth — Thieves have access to multiple skills which, for a short duration, make them invisible to enemy players and avoid aggro of hostile NPCs. While stealthed the thief is not targettable, but can still be damaged by attacks which hit them, and attacking from stealth will break the deception.”And from the 14th december update notes:
“Thieves are the masters of mobility, stealth and high single target damage. They can be very fragile if you counter their stealth with area of effects or large stacks of conditions, but they trade this fragility in order to have some of the highest burst damage in the game. They are able to help allies through traps, venoms and the mobility to flank most encounters.”
Now look at these resent videos I picked randomly from YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9grDRzNT_wg
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4m2mGDUL38
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7OYniHrGqEThe thing to notice about these videos isn’t only that the Thief is able to have stealth up for what seems to be next to permanently, but also how easily the Thief is able to escape once low on health. That shadow stepping makes the Thief able to easily escape AoE attacks and snares. That with Cloak and Dagger the Thief can keep stealth up without any lose to playstyle, thanks to the fast recharge of initiative. That “Revealed” is not a hinderance for the Thief at all, because the three seconds that the Thief can’t stealth, is the time that’s spend on attacking anyway. That the Thief don’t have to use their utilities for anything, other then gaining more stealth. And that on top of all of this, the Thief can also use skills like Dagger Storm to avoid damage, or Thieves Guild as pseudo clones for distraction.
This is how the majority of Thieves play: Stealth to get the upper hand and maximum damage on first attack, attack for three seconds until Revealed has passed, gain stealth again to regain positioning on your foe, attacking him again when he’s got his back turned, keep attacking him as he tries to run away with 20% health left, alternatively use shadow stepping or cripple to stop him from escaping, stealth again when he’s downed so he or an ally can’t stop you from stomping him, and then stealth/shadow step away, or start attacking the ally who was trying to help the foe you just stomped. If three or more players finally do manage to get you down to low health; use shadow stepping/Dagger Storm/Thieves Guild to get away, go back into stealth to make your foes lose track of you, hide until your health is restored, proceed to attacking again.
Am I the only one who can see the contradictory between how ArenaNet wants the Thief to play, and how it is actually played? I’m not sure how anyone (other then a Thief maybe) can justify stealth, for the Thief, as being balanced. I mean, how are you suppose to fight a profession that you can’t see for 80% of a fight, and who can easily escape you during the 20% window where you actually do see him? How is this fun to play against?
The thief counters don’t work.
AoE and large stacks of conditions can only be used when you know the thief is there (and conditions have to be used while it is visible!) and by then you are dead.
There are new plans for guilds. I guess we will find out what those plans are later today.
I agree with this. It’s a royal pain when an achievement says, “Complete all of the X” and then doesn’t list which ones you’ve done and which you haven’t.
The list of jumping puzzles is an example of how it should be done
1) It’s too easy to exploit, since AI creatures aren’t aware enough to a avoid being backed up to a cliff
2) What happens if you knock an enemy into an bad spot and their corpse had an item you need? Or the fall isn’t enough to kill them, but now you can’t reach them, and they can’t reach you, so now you can’t kill them? This would potentially block a story step, or event.
Despite these, it is fun to knock enemies around. Perhaps you could make a boss encounter where you have to knock enemies off cliffs (no lootbag problem because it’s a chest). I propose a giant dojo where the enemies come at you en-masse at the end and you are knocking them off with an environmental weapon (pole) like Neo in the Matrix, perhaps. Let us feel POWERFUL!
(edited by Svarty.8019)
I’m going to summarize for you since you seem to have problems with reading comprehension.
If a player wants to grind for thousands of hours for an item, it’s only because of its rarity and cosmetics, and not its power, so the grind is not required
Linsey MurdochLegendary items were always intended to be on par with other “best-in-slot” items. So fear not, all existing Legendary weapons, which are currently on par with Exotics, will be upgraded to be on par with Ascended weapons at the same time that we add Ascended weapons to the game.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/linsey-murdock-unveils-new-high-end-ascended-gear/
So we have to either grind few Legendaries or grind [Insert New Tier Name Here] weapons every time there’s a content patch. That appears to be the choice, ahead of the “Big January Patch”.
If you think lodestones should be easier to acquire, then make a solid case for why that should be so.
I think lodestones should be easier to acquire because pretty much every desirable high end item skin requires them.
Also, why not?
According to JonathanSharp Game Designer, here…

Thieves are supposed to
be very fragile if you counter their stealth with area of effects or large stacks of conditions
How do we counter their stealth with area effects or large stacks of conditions when we can’t see the thief to do so?
Inflation.
The increase in money supply (via dungeon speedruns) is driving up market prices. As prices rise, legendary components (particularly the most rare: t6 materials and lodestones) are becoming more and more expensive.
John Smith (Arenanet’s economist) himself has suggested that players invest into commodities. I suggest people find a market that will be a hedge against inflation such as the ultra-rare skins from the Karka event (which won’t drop again), as opposed to the Halloween/Christmas ones (which will).
It was done in my team’s path 3 a couple of hours ago.
This thread is full of market carebears.
As in EVE Online, trading on the a market is a form of PvP (in other words, it’s competition).
So why isn’t everything tradeable? There are lots of soulbound stuffs that could (for consistency’s sake) be tradeable, Fractals weapon skins, for example.
While I very much enjoy my Guardian, I often feel like I’d do better as a Warrior. This is probably a “grass is greener” situation, tho.
I got my gear before the waypoint nerf GL newbies! Lol.
I’ve noticed only 2 powers in GW2 that don’t fit inside the circles. Those are the exploding earth circles in COE and Lupi spit (which seems to enter the circles at an angle, so clipping players’ heads before landing.
Perhaps this can be cured by changing the parabolic curve the spit takes so that it goes out and THEN comes down into the circles.
The exploding earth circles in CoE can be solved by simply making the indicator circle bigger (overlapping ones are still insane because you are supposed to be able to stand in the centre and can’t).
(edited by Svarty.8019)
I did it a few times. It’s horrible.
As a measure of the general consensus on this dungeon, check out the price of Charged Lodestones.
(edited by Svarty.8019)
The ones that want wars only are normally noobs that don’t know how to play. They normally don’t say but its the Berserker warriors that they want. Good only for AC and CoF.
CoE, HotW, Arah normally kicks their kitten
It’s the run fast elitist groups that want DPS only.
I’m sure Robert Hrouda will have the dungeons all fixed so there are no really farmable paths soon enough.
Someone at Arenanet thought free transfers were a good idea.
Epic defence at [FR] Hills. Proud of our guys.
