Try reading everything before you make personal remarks.
I was comparing our ‘strategies’ of using superior numbers when you have them available in response to Fab’s mention of us Rolfstomping your border yesterday, and trying to make us look like the boogieman while we actually do thesame to eachother at different timeperiods.
Your remarks seemed to be quite ignorant. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for qualifying them.
Just saying but there are a bunch of guilds that want to just go out and do their thing,
To say they are lessening their enjoyment is incorrect. I know my smaller guild will get together and just grab supply camps, roam and do our thing while in vent and having fun.
It is more fun for us then being in server voicechat and being told what to do and when to do it.
There is nothing wrong with either style of play, but don’t act like guilds are not having fun if they don’t play your way.
You can do this!
In the Gunnar’s Hold community nobody is told what to do. You can also have complete autonomy as a guild group, in fact, this is encouraged.
I hope you give it a try and come on Mumble just once to say hello.
we only had a small guild group early in prime on our borders and after that mostly pugs being led by some commanders,
Gunnar’s only had a tiny guild group, miniscule. A veritable atom of a guild group and then just the smallest, tiniest little microscopic random array of pugs helping out. Haha I’m just taking the kitten out of you! I salute your numerical advantage, you use it very well.

Thanks for taking time to give us an update. It does feel like, “Jam tomorrow”, though.
There is a nice legendary progress editor, looking like: http://secondtonone.pl/belegendary.php?l=9 Unfortunately the interface is only in some kind of klingon language…
It doesn’t appear to be an editor, just a guild who posted their individual efforts (in Polish).
For the most part, crafting isn’t worthwhile. The profits are tiny.
Your right, my mistake. It says that it reads the games session key and game memory. Is this allowable?
I think not, that’s why it’s better to go with the spidey version.
IMO Binding Roots should be changed. It’s too difficult to deal with in it’s current form.
[insert something about drop rate mechanics being borked]
OP5 What if: Score was tallied based on how long you owned something, rather than who owns it when the timer rolls over.
The score should be tallied based on how many people there are in the whole of WvW. The more total people, the more you score. So if you have a ninja night squad, you don’t get so many points if the enemy doesn’t turn up.
Don’t expect it to be built without the design being complete.
The use of the word “would” suggests that it’s still a looong way away, if ever.
Now that the Scavenger Hunt idea has been abandoned, I’m sure a lot of people will be praying that the new way of obtaining precursors does NOT involve Laurels.

don’t spread false information – it’s not being abandoned. It’s a work in progress but it takes time to design such a system.
Please read the linked text
We’re not currently actively working on building any sort of legendary precursor scavenger hunt
Xoac for GH currently might still be great and fun for now but as soon as tiers balance out and Xoac will carry the points for GH to a higher tier where their primeforce will have trouble fighting the numbers of that tier, they will likely have less fun during that time then those that play in the morning , while we will be balanced in a tier where there’s less offpeak powerhouses, so overall i assume we in the end will have more fun once things balance out compared to GH , but ofc this is all assumption and for now the matchup currently is still relative balanced despite an offpeak powerhouse shifting things to their favour ^^
That’s already happened. We’re having … a challenge… at the moment in primetime, and our early morning guys are picking you to pieces because of your lack of coverage.
I think we might be in our ideal tier right now.

Speculation is that there is a limit to how many are in the game at any one time. When this limit is reached, they stop dropping. Hence making them “Legendary”.
If the player purchased every component that is purchasable, or the entire legendary outright, he/she has raised hundreds to thousands of gold – an achievement certainly equal in effort if not in variety to having acquired the materials personally.
AN being the operative word. If the player purchased every component, then the accumulation of gold (or buying the gold with RL cash) is ONE achievement, not the broad range of achievements that the Isaiah Cartwright video implies that it symbolises.
I’m not telling you.
I have the same problem as everybody else:
Things I have;
- Gift of Metal,
- Gift of Mastery,
- Gift of Battle,
- Gift Ascalon,
- 77 Mystic Clovers
Things I need;
- Precursor – that you have to buy with gold or luck.
- Lots of T6 materials – that you have to buy with gold or luck.
- Lots of Lodestones – that you have to buy with gold or luck.
- 100 Runestones – that you have to buy with gold – I could afford to buy this if I sold my investments.
- About 100 Ectos – that I don’t really mind grinding dungeons for. But it is grinding, as I have everything else I want from dungeons.
I think there are tonnes of people in my position. Gold is the massive stumbling block on Legendaries. It’s quite sad.
It’s total war
Too bad it’s hard to make up for those points we loose at night and early morning
Indeed. Nightcaps have always been an issue for all of us. Now it is our enemies who suffer.
I see a lot of waffle on the forums about Legendaries and how they aren’t available to the regular players because of the exorbitant cost of a few components. It seems to me that the “unreachable” aspect of these carrots-on-sticks is to be reduced slightly when the legendary treasure hunt is introduced (whenever that is). I think it’s the striving for these items that keeps some players in the game, so…
My question is a look to beyond this time…. after we’ve all got legendary swords, then what? NEW Legendaries? Superlegendaries? Mythicals?
I get the impression that Crucible of Eternity is going to be extremely hard after the waypoint nerf.
I’m too scared to even try it!
The roles in GW2 are:
DPS Kiter.
The above is a bad myth that I would like to see put down. It saddens me to think that many people think that GW 2 dungeons is every man for himself doing whatever. It is not and especially now with the new WP changes in dungeons.
Clearly, it’s not every man for himself, but every man DPSing the boss. At the same time, they are doing the other things that finish the encounter, clicking buttons, carrying batteries or whatever, but if you have a team full of DPSers, you won’t suffer any more than a team of mixed specs, so why roll anything else? See GW2LFG.COM Citadel of Flames > 4 Warriors and 1 Mesmer groups.
The key to remember is that no class is pigeon-holed into any particular role and so the key to dungeons is playing whatever role your team need to play. This requires an awareness of the field of play. I.e. not just the mob but your teammates.
[..]If you team mate down? [..] Alternatively, he could be being revived by another teammate, that’s the time to ask ourself, what can I do to help them? It might be a simple as blinding the enemy that might be aggroed to them. Or simple pulling said enemy away.
With examples like these, I’m can’t see many people buying your argument. For example, Blind won’t work reliably or for any length of time against bosses because of their buff.
Also, regarding classes not being pigeon-holed, I am yet to see a guardian in full berserker gear. Their innate HPs are a massive issue. I would not be at all surprised if there are other examples of pigeon-holing.
Also comeon Anet let us know the new ratings system, just shows a complete lack of respect to all those who have paid for this game and put time and effort into it.
Arenanet have NO obligation to explain their internal systems to you, and I encourage them to keep them a secret.
Where am i asking for info in their internal systems?
Here:
Also comeon Anet let us know the new ratings system,
!
I want to ask the community [..]
So, my question to the community: What should I do?
Just give up on it. Grinding and working like this will only end in tears. Just do without the “legendary” item that everybody thinks they are going to acquire. We can’t all be the hero, despite the rhetoric.
The spoon is a lie.
The roles in GW2 are:
DPS Kiter.
really? you create a TINY character and want GIANT weapons?
it’s not about giant weapons, it’s about proper weapon scaling where they stop shrinking when holstered.
This is the point. The shrinking is ridiculous.
Inflation tends to effect much more than just the price of goods, though. It usually is coupled with increased wages to compensate for cost-of-living.
Thing is, the game doesn’t really pay you more for playing it now than it did months ago. You still get the same amount of silver for finishing a dungeon or event. Sure, the prices of some goods are going up, but those are almost entirely t6 mats (such as Lodestones), which are not readily available for just playing the game. You have to farm them with copious amount of Magic Find gear.
I found this very interesting when I analogised it with the real world example of rising cost of living compared with widespread wage stagnation. What this meant for the economy, I don’t know, since there is no cost of living in GW2. There are no basics.
Whether or not inflation is happening in GW2 is immaterial: at the end of the day, premium items are becoming harder and harder and harder to afford to your average player. When the price doubled from 200g to 400g, I shrugged it off and figured I’d get there eventually. But when the price doubles again to 800g, how on earth is your casual player supposed to keep up with that rate of cost increase?
They are some of the most rare items in the game. Thus, they are hardly targeted at “your casual player”. Who cares if Joe Schmoe can’t afford them? It is, in fact, a GOOD thing for Arenanet to make them impossible to attain for 99% of players. They are a carrot on a stick. Keep grinding those mats, suckers.
(edited by Svarty.8019)
Get them from WvW. The time goes by so fast and furiously, you won’t know it’s gone
…February.
You know, right now $10 gets you 800 Gems, which gets you about 11.5G.
If you do the math, to basically get 1500 G, you need to spend $1304.
I somehow highly doubt many people spend $1300 on pixels. And I highly doubt Anet actually counts on this to make money.
I’m utterly shocked that this point isn’t brought up more often. Why ruin a good conspiracy theory, though?
Some people are incredibly wealthy – this amount of money wouldn’t make a dent in their budgets.
Also, wouldn’t $10 get you much more gold from the I LOVE YOU people?
Also comeon Anet let us know the new ratings system, just shows a complete lack of respect to all those who have paid for this game and put time and effort into it.
Arenanet have NO obligation to explain their internal systems to you, and I encourage them to keep them a secret.
It’s quite strange, as a (mostly) daytime player, knowing that the opponents are fielding superior numbers and tactics all the time, but coming online to see we’re winning. I fear what may happen if we win this match-up. It’s already quite painful against you guys.
It’s disheartening to hear about such bugs.
This gives the capacity for those exciting “jackpot” moments of getting a big reward, while also helping provide a more clear long term timeline when you can earn the same reward for those who don’t hit the moment-to-moment jackpot since for those who are extremely unlucky, it can be very frustrating.
I think a lot of people are eagerly anticipating the legendary precursor treasure hunt, but that they are dreading the grind/purchase of lodestones, which are only available via fortune (in the senses of either luck or money) and don’t appear to be purchasable using the “long term timeline” method you describe above.
Inflation is the rise in prices for goods. It doesn’t matter why the price rose – the price rose and that is inflation.
Inflation is the erosion of the purchasing power of gold. If inflation was truly occuring, you’d see the prices of EVERYTHING go up, not just the few items everyone’s demanding.
Supply-and-demand beats Inflation. Why would the price of something nobody wants go up just because money is worth less?
Maybe I can go back to farming charged lodestones again yay \o/
Please do! More power to you.
If they’re camping, you lose. Simple. Just go another time.
So… FP and MS seem to be sharing all our stuff between them, but some good scraps.
I refuse to even try CoE now that there’s no rez rushing.
He certainly looks like the nasty kitten I imagine him to be.
I just did 7×10. Easy.
The clovers are one of the easiest things to acquire, by the way. After a while you realise that you need gold, just lots and lots of gold to buy a lot of the other components (t6 materials & lodestones).
(edited by Svarty.8019)
I’ll need a 10 page abstract and summary details your methods first.
Why do you need one of those?
Dear John,
while I appreciate that you jumped in our discussion, I am a bit disappointed that your only comment was about the definition of inflation. If you had a look at the completed transactions for t5/t6 materials, ectos, bufffood and ingredients in the most common/most used bufffoods, you’d noticed that those prices went up by a lot in the last 4-8 weeks. I think ‘inflation’ kind of is the right word to describe such a situation.
Even if not, I don’t want to discuss the definition of a word. I want to discuss the main point of my first post in this thread: (casual) players don’t really earn money as prices go up and up. They will NEVER get a legendary as the precursor is the blocking factor.
Those two points are what i wanted to discuss.Ah and by the way: I think that orders are a good indicator for inflation and that there actually is no need to view the completed transactions as orders are always “close around” completed transaction prices. gw2spidy’s data is the best available and it’s not bad.
Dear Noerknhar,
casual players were never ever meant to get a legendary.
Best Regards.
Iruwen
And yet, this text suggests that anybody could acquire one:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/my-legend-grows-forging-your-first-legendary-weapon/
… as if following your dream and working hard are enough to fulfil your ambitions. As in life, it’s not. You need a trunkload of fortune, too.

communism isn’t a real economic theory but rather fantasy.
#1. Communism isn’t an economic theory, and
#2. Your grasp of the “real” seems somewhat awry.
my goal overall is to create a positive environment here.
See? John can empathise with the masses who will never reach their Legendary goal!
(edited by Svarty.8019)
Excuse me? If I wasn’t able to clarify my point, just tell me. Maybe it’s because it’s early in the morning over here and I’m right at my first coffee for today.
I think you got him to say your right…. in a weird way…
I think you’re correct. I believe John Smith knows these things, but that there’s nothing he can do about them.
(edited by Svarty.8019)
If only there was a /facepalm, I’d be doing that right now.
John im pretty sure he already used his item and cannot sell in game. He wants an option to transfer his used commander title to another character
I know, it was a joke because that is the cost of buying a new commander tome. I should stop making jokes
You’re an economist… your entire profession I’d better not.
I think some people here can’t tell the difference between market manipulators and speculators.
Market manipulators buy up all the supply so that they can force a higher price. I.e. precursors
Market speculators buy up supply because they think it’ll go up. i.e. globs & t6
I did both at the same time. What am I? A manculator? A spenipulator?
Actually about 15% of the population finds making money very fun, irrelevant of the uses of that money. Ever gotten unnecessarily rich in a single player RPG like Skyrim?
99% of statistics are malleable.
Actually about 15% of the population finds making money very fun, irrelevant of the uses of that money. Ever gotten unnecessarily rich in a single player RPG like Skyrim?
I don’t understand how earning a virtual currency can be fun if the the intent is to aquire more. Sounds more like psychological disorder to me.
Nah, it’s just one more way that people keep score. Some people keep score with money, some people keep score with titles, some with experience points, some with achievement points, some with eye candy — I have a guildie who is constantly broke, but he always looks good! I have another guildie with plenty of money still running around in blues and greens because to her the money number is important. For me it’s my guild roster that is my major score keeper. Fifteen percent actually makes sense when you consider the different ways of keeping score.
Currency isn’t a high score. It’s a medium of exhcange required for goods and services. The purpose of money is to exchange hands, not to sit in one place. Money that isn’t moving is useless and serves no purpose. In the real world governments are forced to redistribute wealth to keep the wheels of the economy spinning. Especially if the private sector isn’t doing it.
This isn’t the real world, it’s a game. This money is pixelated, pretend, currency used to purchase pixelated, pretend items. And, just like in Monopoly, it is most definitely a way to keep score.
Like in the real world. You seem to neglect the fact that we invented money, it’s not some immutable, all-pervasive law of physics.
