Well I usually Que after getting off work. Sometimes I have a premade, sometimes not depending on enough people are online. Usually I don’t have a premade. But after the match below I think I’ll only Que premade. We were put 5 pug against full premade, and to top it all off. Someone on my team diconnects for the first 5 minutes. Anet why u do dis. How did the mmr set us against this. (previously my mmr was pretty high but with all these premades around I can’t seem to get passed the last tier of emerald)

Edit/update: The next match I got after posting this was against the same premade. Just wowz. I don’t know what to do anymore. Someone even dced in that game too. WTFFF

If DH was so OP people would take it. Teams don’t have honor in this game remember? 3 rev teams and others like it are bound to happen. In this game people spam whatever is most effective, and since DH design concept is so shallow that dodging 2 traps will kitten it over is pretty lame

And as for a viable build I think warrior is the only one that has a base class build that is “viable”. (since beserler is a meh spec)

Ocaisionally when I get bored of pew pew I run burn guard. It still works these days pretty well actually. Though that is rare and burn guard is almost usless in comparison to a DH. I know cele ele is still fine, cele necro, and survival ranger still work fine, just you need a higher skill cap since it doesn’t offer as much as the elite specs. Oh shatter mes and well (maybe Condi engi but I think that spec is only good for farming low mmr players) feel free to add a list aswell. Medi guard works aswell but is sooo outshined by DH.

Tempest damage is pretty low, just make sure not to fire at them when magnetic aura is up. Best help I can offer low, other than that maybe roll a DH lol? It’s pretty much a power ranger these days just with more survival as well.

Yay for tempest qq, thought u were going for Dragonhunters for a bit. As a Dragonhunter I get shut down by tempest reflect and sustain but guards have always been subpar when dueling Tempest. I would think Druid would do better with it’s large amounts of sustain, weird right?

We all think that different classes are everywhere in Que? Which is the truth? Are there more Revs, DragonHunters, Tempest, Chrono, Druid, or Reaper. Everyone thinks all are spammed in Que, well except Reaper I guess, in my experience I could say my mmr is decently high I mostly get Druids and revenants. Chrono and Druid a close second. Bout it. I’m usually the only Dragonhunter on both teams. I wish we knew the actual truth about the most popular class

Honestly, I think that if we moved Glacial heart to valor master tier and switched it with strength in numbers (since we already have the shield trait and 300 toughness isn’t kitten) and mighty blow able to be used with Judge’s intervention, I feel like that would please the most amount of people. Some people like the protection on Auto attack like if you’re jn the front line of a zerg in WvW. IMOP this would help out the most.

Not meaning to rain on your parade but if we want any changes at all, we need to focus on one weapon, that being hammer. Hammer definitely needs the most work so we should prioritize using that thread until there are so many posts in there that anet can’t ignore it. Good idea though sword is a great def weapon already

Yes bunker guard is a way better support, however, bunker guard cannot survive against these elite specs. You can’t support while you’re dead. Go try for yourself bunker guard, and then play druid. You’ll see

Obviously you can, when entire Ranger profession was being “balanced” around LB/Traps in last year like those are core source of DH power.

If they are superior to core specs that are supposed to do the same, then they are obviously broken, OP or whatever you call that imbalance.
And if something is “OP” and something is “UP”, you got two choices:
a) nerf “OP”
or
b) buff “UP”

Based on that logic Druid should be nerfed because it’s way stronger than guard bunk. Thoughts?

There are 2 druid build that are god mode 1 on 1 and 1 vs many. Why are you not familiar with it? Well those ppl wont give you their builds ( I know I wont) couse it would be nerfhammered

DH is easy to counter : put some condi pressure and he’s down.

cele tempest

counter DH easily.

Go fight a good DH and let me know how that goes, even condition pressure, which is the most viable option, is still difficult to deal with.

-they still have a decent condi clear that heals them a fair amount for being marauder, that’s not even counting blocks. A guardian’s usual weakness is that they’re slow, but that is migitated with the longbow and it’s many features including an unblockable shot at 1200 range that does 4-6k with only a 4 second cd. They will kill you before your conditions even make an impact.

-Dragonhunter rewards passive play way too much, I’m alright with setting traps to do damage and stuff that’s cool, but it’s entirely too faceroll. I gave the meta build to my friend who doesn’t even really pvp and she was destroying people in team matches multiple times. It shows just how easy to pick up it is, which wouldn’t be a bad thing if it wasn’t an apex predator.

true shot is not unblockable and has never been unblockable.

deflecting shot is the unblockable one and that’s on a 10 sec cooldown and has an awkward ground target function.

Anet favors burst over bunker. Just look at minstrel. Sad bunker guard I sad. Though to answer your question they will either totally destroy DH with nerfs or tweak traits instead of the noob killer AKA traps. DH whiners whine about the traps so if anet listens they will Nerf most of the aspects of DH in the next balance patch.

1, I’m fine with it maybe .25-.5 cast time reduction on the symbol.
2 a few hundred yards increase will do, nothing spectacular needed but if MB stays as this it should be buffed to around TS level.
3 Zealot’s Embrace also could stun the target and immob everybody it passes through. Nice addition for both PvP and PvE
4 Make Banish unblockable, reduce the cast time like 25% OR make it cleave
5 The Ward… This has the most potentions… Make it a moving field, make it fire field, add prot or stability to the players inside, let us detonate it for some effects like stun or burn, reflect projectiles (not like we need more reflect), make it ground targetable with 600 range… Anything you like :P

Ok yea those changes would be nice. But we are looking at realistic goals that anet would do. They definitely won’t take this post seriously if the changes we want are overpowered and ridiculous. Really we just need to move glacial heart to valor, adjust mighty blow to by used with JI. And increase AA by -.25 sec. Those are changes anet could put in realistically. Anet doesn’t have the time or resources for a major overhaul.

Only test of faith is unlockable. The rest can be blocked

I don’t do much pve and haven’t done a raid yet, but barbarians trinkets or Valkyrie would help your hp alot. I use them in wvw and they help alot too

Seriously I’m fine with hammer the way it is. It needs minor tweaks not large ones. I think the mighty blow animation should be changed so you can use judge’s intervention right before the end of the animation again. Glacial heart being switched with communal defenses or strength in numbers would let us use glacial heart again. And being able to cast ring of warding would also be the only changes necessary really. C’mon we need Guard Hambow now!

So what classes are doing poorly save warr and thief. There were so many others metas where only 4 or 3 classes could compete. Now we have 7 classes that can. I like those odds.

True shot is blockable calm the heck down guys all that happened was a typo. It was meant for deflecting shot. Deflecting shot was already unlockable literally all they did was change the tooltip. No nerfs or buffs. Just took the light effects away from traps. The typo was confirmed by Karl in the guardian forum if you want to check it out. Please do research before you cry, just something to remember.

Yes and warrior/guard/ranger shouts don’t damage and life steal. It’s an elite spec man. Anet made elite spec abilities better than vanilla.

And yes I’m expecting a DH Nerf today at noon because of nubs on forums that wish to scream op. I agree shield and true shot need to be tuned but I’m sure all the wrong things will be nerfed and I’ll have to move to revenant

Actually eu doesn’t have many DH in unranked que I think. My mmr is decently high to say the least and either I’m the only guard or there is one other DH max on the other team. Once there was a Yolo bunker on my team but that’s it. R.I.P buddy. Keep bunk guard alive xD. But ye, in my experience not many DH eu. And the DH usually are just Yolo full trap utility kittens that you kill by dodging through their traps so ye.

So Nerf hammer drops Tuesday and I fine with that I’m done getting flamed but, while you guys are working on Dragonhunter, could you maybe take a look at glacial heart and mighty blow damage? I’m fine with true shot being nerfed as long as mighty blow gets the damage. 2k-3k crit just doesn’t do it for me? Swapping Glacial heart with strength in numbers would be amazing. Or communal defenses. Anything is good. While classes are nerfed I think other aspects of them should be buffed

So no actual builds or ideas?
